Hello I wonder does it matter what default size of my House project for a character I create? I would like to know what are industry standarts for a character dimentions? I have already modeled character in maya and now I am looking forward to build a house for it to be placed in, but I worry that I won't be able to modify dimentions later on in a project. The worry comes from that I am not sure how to scale rigged character. All in all my question is all over the place but the main issue is to be able to size character to a room/house correctly, thanks 

Why is it so hard to render in stager? I have my sneaker ready in Substance painter for the ongoing competition, but I have not yet been able to have a single render out from the Substance Stager. After an hour time it is just "estimating"..... even with draft quality? I have tryed to follow discussions about Gpu rendering with Stager, but as I am not an "engineer" I feel myself very insecure in changing anything on my computer...   Are there any clear and precise instructions for "dummies" in rendering with stager anywhere?I have tryed out every tutorial I have found, so the porblem is probably on my PC? As I am use to work with Adobes programs - which usually are genious - but this Stager rendering is now killing me.. This is annoying beacause I really would like to take part for the Sneaker competition! Regards, Annamari

Hello all,Any idea about the release of an apple M1 supporting update for adobe Substance Stager? I am experiencing a lot of freezing screen, lags, and some of my inputs doesn't always work.Did I miss a beta? 

I would like to participate to the Great Shoecase contest, and I have spent several hours to texture the model.It is required to render a couple of images in Stager, but it does not look possible to render anything!!!I have uninstall and reinstall it already.I feel so frustrated about that....

Hi,  I've brought up this issue, but to no avail. I made a very simple material in Sampler. I added snow to a sphere, added height, turned up the normal map. I added a little bit of water. That's it. This is the result i was looking for: I exported this material as an sbsar but when I apply that sbsar to a sphere in Stager, it comes out as a flat, lifeless nothing. So I exported all the information as a PNG, which gave me Roughness, Height, Normal, BaseColor, Specular, Ambient Occlusion, AnistropyAngle/Level. I opened Stager and added all of the PNG files to each coresponding slot in the properties tab. Displacement on. This is the result. The same flat nothing.  Is there some fundamental thing that I am overlooking? Can stager not produce the same results shown in Sampler? In an effort to teach myself these programs, I simply want to make a sphere in Stager look like the one in Sampler.  Thanks for the help, A 

I feel a contest like The Great Shoecase highlights a huge issue with Adobe trial licenses in general.  I may not be able to afford purchasing Substance Painter this year, but need this and Stager to enter the contest - problem is, I have already used up these trials, so cannot use them again without purchasing. There should be an option to redeem a code in the Creative Cloud Hub (app and browser), which can reactivate affected trial licenses for the duration of an event.  That way they have the chance of getting a fee, annual license.

Hey there. Soooo.. Quite frustrating so far trying to migrate from Dimension to Stager for me. If I cancel any render when I return to the stage it's black and I can't use or adjust the program anymore at all, I can't even "save" the project or even just quit the application. I then must bring up the "Force Quit Application" and force quit to close it, losing any unsaved changes. (I'm on a 2019 MacBook Pro with OS Big Sur).There's another annoying bug I won't get too deeply into regarding black bars on models that are laying flat that never happens in dimension with the same models, forcing me to go back and use dimension again for odd projects.While I'm complaining... being forced to take on the entire 3D suite cost (on top of my All Apps and stock subscription) seems a little crazy. Am I right in assuming Dimension will eventually be phased out since it's extremely similar? I personally believe this new 3D collection SHOULD be rolled into the All Apps subscription. I'm coming from a 3DSMax "junior" experience level user.  To be honest I don't particularly like the over complex environment of 3DSMax and it's workflow ... just seems like a very slow way to get a 3D scenes and considerable learning curve especialy UV mapping and PBR materials etc. To the point ... Stager questions:1.  Export to 3DSMax file format?  Any gotcha or additional work needed in 3DSMax?2.  Import from 3DSMax?3.  Create octahedral imposters that use a very specific texture setup (texture arrays) used primarily for vegetation.4. Does is support DDS output? 5. How extensive of a object and texture library comes with the Stager?6.  How large is the 3D object "payware" library for Stager? And finally, if I just need to create normal/roughness/metal textures from an albedo texture, do I need Stager?  Can Designer create texture arrays from octahedral impostors?  (i.e. this link: https://shaderbits.com/blog/octahedral-imp

I LOVE Stager so far! As it grows in the future I would really love to see support for animated fbx so that I could bring in an animated character or object and texture it and render it in Stager with the amazing materials, lighting etc. that stager has! Right now I'm bringing animated models that I painted in substance painter into Unity, but the lighting and materials just do not look the same and I would love to be able to do it all right in Stager without having to deal with Unity! Also a turntable rotating effect would be great, to be able to put objects or a scene on a turntable and record it as it rotates. 

Trying to see how Stager compares to Keyshot Pro and if it's worth potentially switching.

Hi, This might be super obvious, but I cant seem to figure it out... Is there a way to hide the large white dot that shows where youve placed a physical light? In the Stager pre-set demo, the physical light is not marked with a dot, but if you intereact with it, it then has that annoying dot in the way.  Also, is there an option to hide any object or light from the camera but still have it cast glow on the surrounding environment?  Thanks alot, A

Everytime I go to click on ray tracing to preview my scene the whole app freezes, it won't even let me close the app. I have this exact same issue trying to render anything. If I go to cancel the render and go back my entire scene is grey. Everything is updated I can't figure out why this is happening.

Mandatory Cam 1 and Cam 3 are able to render without any errors nor crashes. I export my sneaker from Adobe Substance Painter over to Substance 3D Stager project from #TheGreatShoeCase. I do not add anything else, I don' move anything, I don't change any settings in the Stager project.  I just do a render.  Cam 1 and Cam 3 are able to render as expected.  Cam 2 rendered a few times with black boxes over the back of my sneaker :  Default Render settings from the project file provided by #TheGreatShoeCase I've tried unchecking GPU Render and the Cam 2 Render just crashes. Do we have any other options for submitting our projects to #TheGreatShoeCase and participating in the competition? NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080PC, Windows 10,64-bit OS, x64-based processorRAM: 16 GBProcessor:  Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @3.70GHzHardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is On to 'reduce latency & improve performance'

Hello friends, i am not able to use the "Match image" feature properly. The checkbox "Create lights" is not available, because i use a CPU with 64 cores. To be more precise, i use a "AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 32-Core Processor". Is there a workaround for this issue? I mean, the "Create lights" feature is essential for me, to use "Match image" with this program. Best regards

Hi,  I'm relatively new to the Adobe 3D workflow... I just wanted to test out Adobe Sampler by modifying my own wet snow material. It looks great in Sampler, it has height, texture, everything. I exported it as an sbsar (i experimented a bit with what features were checked off for the export) and dropped it on a sphere in Stager and even with Displacement checked on in Stager, the material appears flat and lifeless. What am I missing? Thanks,A

Seriously... 3D Stager hides the GPU render function as soon as I install a current driver. I have tried everything after a fresh reinstall of Windows 11. > Nvidia Control > Stager 3D > high performance> Windows 11: Graphics > Settings > Stager 3D > High Performance> i installed nearly all studio drivers (ofc. firstly the suggested drivers) I have an AMD Radeon 5900HX + a GTX 3080, even in Stager the GTX is shown but the GPU rendering is grayed out... see screenshot. Rendering with my CPU takes on average ~5x longer than with the GPU, that can't be real... Adobe charges another 30€ more for the 3D Suite subscription and it doesn't work correctly.  Adobe pretends that GPU rendering is a nice side issue, but it is extremely important! It saves a massive amount of time. If the 3D stager is to be competitive, something should change.

How can we render models out of Stager, along with their Abient Occlusion, Shadows, & Reflections, without rendering the background objects that "catch" them? • Ground Plane shadows and reflections will not export with trasparency. This worked in Dimension. • Ideal workflow would be to allow ANY object (like a wall) to act as a shadow catcher, similar to how 3D layers operate in After Effects.  

Hi, i use an iMac 2017 with an 4,2 GHz Intel Quad-Core i7, 64 GB RAM and Radeon Pro 580 8 GB as GPU. I love use Adobe Dimension for my projects and could not await to switch to 3D Stager to use all the well known Substance power. So I was more than disappointed when I started my first scene in Stager – the performance ist really bad. Working is just not possible when every move has a delay. When will Radeon Pro 580 be supported so that I can use Substance for my work? Best regards

In the current documentation, under "GPU Rendering" the following appears:"For laptops which also include an integrated graphics card, use the NVIDIA Control Panel to set the preferred graphics card to the discrete card." This is true only for Windows 10. In Windows 11, this setting is not controlled by the NVidia app, but by the Windows 11 Settings app. Go to "Settings > System > Display > Graphics." Under "Custom options for apps," add Stager (or any other desktop app) by choosing the Browse button and navigating to the .exe file in Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Substance Stager. Choose "High Performance" in the options dialog. Additionally, the NVIDIA Control Panel must be reset in order to work correctly in Windows 11. It will crash within a few seconds of launch, so is unusable until reset. When this is done, it correctly shows that choice of GPU is now handled by Windows, not by the NVIDIA Control Panel.

For some reason my file just completely will not open after hours of work! Help! 

Hello!Everytime I create/save a file containing - in this case-  a lot of cubes with images placed on the model and try to open it later, Substance crashes and get stuck to the loading screen (I tried waiting for one hour with no luck)I have to ctrl+alt+delete to escape this loop.I spent a lot of time creating those files and it already happened 4 times. I had to recreate from scratch EACH time losing in the process hours of work...It's getting a little annoying and definitely not worth the 40€/month! I've already sent two reports to adobe bug courriel with no luck. (no answer to be specific).Journals are attached.Someone can help?Thanks!
