Hi everyone,I have a project that was originally created in Adobe RoboHelp 2019, and I found the ".xpj" file in the existing project. However, I’m unable to open this file with RoboHelp 2020 or 2022.Has anyone faced a similar issue or know how to open or migrate the project to these newer versions? Any guidance on compatibility or steps to take would be really helpful.Thanks in advance for your help!

We are trying to set up source control using Azure Dev Ops with RH 2022.5.28.  We are encountering two errors. Regarding the first error, the user is set up as an administrative user with full permission as far as we can tell.It looks as if we are getting the files to sync, but if we try to check them in, we get the second error after clicking the Check In button.We may switch to trying to use SharePoint Online for source control, but, before we do, I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered the above two errors and, if yes, knows how to resolve them.  Thanks!

2022.4.179 I'm using bookmarks in Topics and then using them to create Map IDs. I thought that the Map IDs for a bookmark, when called, would go directly to that bookmark wherever it is in the topic. The dev folks are saying that maybe there's something to "turn ON" in RH to make the IDs go straight to where I placed the bookmark.  Again, thanks for any and all insights!  

I'm struggling to fathom how a functionality as simple as snippet categories can go repeatedly wrong, so I'm just asking here just to check if it's not something else.As far as I can tell, two/three new bugs have been introduced in 2022.5: 1) the button Snippet categories (Topic properties panel) does not workTrying to switch a snippet to another category does not work. You have to manually edit the snippetcategories.xml file. 2) renaming a snippet causes it to revert to Default category 3) Editing snippets outside of RH causes snippetcategories.xml to delete itselfI can somewhat accept this one, but it's still fascinating to have everything straight up deleted (and replaced by a new file with only the renamed file) if you rename a snippet file in file explorer.

We converted from RH2015 to RH2022.  When a converted link opens, it is opening in a new window instead of the same frame, effectively cutting off the user from the rest of the help. Is there any way to have links open in the same frame?

Is there a way to categorize variables in RH2019 instead of having them all appear as one long list in the variables panel? 

I am using RH 2022.5.28 to generate frameless output.  I recently noticed that if I try to scroll to the end of the index, I can only see part of what I think is the last index term, and the scroll box (thumb) almost completely disappears. See image below showing, on the left, the scroll box near the bottom of the Index and, on the right, the scroll box almost completely hidden, with what I think may be the last index term only partially visible. Is anyone else seeing this?  It only occurs on the Index tab. It does not occur on the Contents tab. If it matters, the frameless layout I am using is based on the default Orange template.

good morning, I have been producing contextual help for a software product for years.From this year the product has two types of layouts:a dark background and white writinglight background and black writing. Is it possible to make a single compilation that includes both layouts or do I have to make two different compilations with different colors? thanks daniela

Hi. I have recreated my frameless project into a merged format with parent and child project folders as instructed by experts. I have set up the parent shell to point to one of the child projects .rhpj file in the Default Topic. Everything seems to work fine--the output launches the correct starting page. However, I have a header logo that should link to the Default Topic as defined in the child project that the parent project refers to in the  Default Topic field--essentially, when I click the logo in the header, I want to jump to the home page I have defined from the child project. The link doesn't work, says it can't find the file. Please advise. Thanks!

I have a team of technical writers that all use Windows OS. A new writer has joined the team that has a Mac OS. Can the same RoboHelp file be shared back and forth between Windows and Mac without any issues?

Hello, I linked a word document and then in the word link settings I choose "Start new topic style" as follows "Heading 1", "Heading 2" and "Heading 3". In advance section of word link settings I checked the option "Map Word styles to TOC hierarchy" then it shows all word styles in same TOC level, I tried to change the TOC level from the dropdows but it's disabled. In the end I right clicked the linked word document and then choose "Create/Update Topics", after it finishes all topics (created from Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3) are in same levels. I was expecting it to be generated in parent child hirearchy, but it didn't. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'm converting classic (2017) projects to 2022 (version 2022.2.22).  We have some TOC books with links and one of them links to an external link (a topic in another project).  In classic, if you click on the TOC book, the book opens so you can see the contents, and the external topic is opened in the main (right) frame.  It works the same way as if an internal topic was linked. After converting to 2022, the book does not open to show the contents, and the external topic opens in a new window.  Is there a way to change this?  I have verified that the book contents are still there if you go to edit the TOC; they just don't open in the output (responsive html). Examples:Classic output - the System Errors book links to an external topic; when you select it, it displays to the right and also opens the book: 2022 output - the System Errors book is a book with contents when editing the TOC, but it appears in the output as a linked page instead; it does

Hello.  I have a converted classic (2017) project; the 2022 version is Version 2022.2.22. I have noticed that some (or many) topics have an extra paragraph mark in author view, but this paragraph is not there in preview mode, and the cursor in author view also indicates that it is not there.  In the example below (author view), the blank paragraph after the word "include" really is there.  The rest of them are not.  If I have my cursor after the "s" in the word Pends and press the right arrow, it skips the blank paragraph as if it wasn't there, and goes right to the P in Procedures.  The preview of the topic looks correct:  Is there something I can do to make the author view appear correctly?  The extra paragraph not appear after every item in a list - it does in this topic, but there are others where it is (seemingly) random - the first 3 items in the list might have no extra paragraph and then the 3rd and 4th do, for example.&nbs

When I add a table inside a drop-down that's part of a list style, it does not add the margin space that is part of the css.  Our  paragraph and list styles have a top and bottom margin of 6pt to space things out a bit.  When I add a table inside a drop-down that is part of a list style, this space is not added, but it is there if the drop-down is added to a paragraph style.  In the example below, the top border of the table is almost flush against the "step 2" wording. We want it to look like the 2nd table, which is in a drop-down that was added to a regular <p> line instead - to have a little space between the drop-down header and the table.Is there a way to do this in the css that I might be missing?   It does honor that space when there is no table inside the drop-down or when the drop-downs are closed:But nothing I can think of will make that space appear when the Step 2 drop-down is opened.  In the <p> style and in all of t

Hi, I have the following structure setup in the contents are: Folder 1  Folder 11    Folder 111      Topic 1111      Topic 1112    Folder 112      Topic 1121      Topic 1122When I use the Auto-Create TOC it creates duplicate nesting folders in the TOC area. For exampleSection 1  Section 11    Section 111      Topic 1111      Topic 1112    Section 111      Topic 1111      Topic 1112    Section 112      Topic 1121      Topic 1122    Section 112      Topic 1121      Topic 1122 It seems to be creating a minimum of 2 sections per sub-folder but if you have more than two topics in it it will create the number of topics minus one. For example if there are 4 topics it will create 3 sections each with all 4 topics in it.This beha

I need to print out the chm file. In the meantime, I wrote the contents with robohelp 2017 and then printed them out with Microsoft HTML Help. But after upgrading this project to robohelp 2022, it won't print out. An error like the one below occurs.ENOENT: no such file or directory, lstat 'C:\Users\사용자\AppData\Local\Temp\RHTMP\testrX9Gs3\MyHelp.chm' Failed to generate test. Check log for more details.This route is neither my project route nor my output route. It seems to be a temporary route. How can I solve it?

I have several projects that are merged into a parent ToC. These are then all output as html5.  I have followed the correct procedure (created the link, exported the parent projects, exported the child topic to the mergedProjects folder and then rebuild the parent). These links work well enough.I also want to link to individual sections within some of these child merged projects from the main ToC. I cannot get this to work, Robohelp either skips the link item in the ToC, or changes the url in the link to somewhere completely different. I have tried building the link using the UI and that failed - I have also manually edited the ToC xml file to insert the url that I got by navigating to the built, exported file but this didnt work (Robohelp stores the child projects in a folder named mergedProjects but exports the to 'projects').Does anyone have any helpful insights?
