Hi,For a few years now, I've successfully incorporated Zoom search into documentation generated by RH, using the javascript method.  I now need to improve the search function beyond the limitations of the javascript method, so I thought I'd look again at the search feature that comes with RH.I haven't been able to find the answers or options to do the following:1.  Let the user limit their search to 2 out of 3 content categories.  At the very least, I want to exclude the "appendix" content category from the main search, but still have a separate appendix search if the user chooses.  Can users only search one category at a time?2.  How do I get the TOC TITLES to display in the search results - and NOT the filename? This one is really annoying me., displaying filenames is ugly.3. How do I get meaningful descriptions to display in the search results - and not, by default, the first text of the files which often includes the "return to top" script I have on each pa

RH2015 | WebHelp | Printed DocumentationI've tried unsuccessfully for some time to force image borders into printed documentation. Whatever steps I take, the style is not exposed through the Output Editor, so it cannot be mapped to Word template style. Although the border appears in RH (and the WebHelp output) I can't work out how to get it into the printed documentation.The workaround is to add the border manually to each image in Photoshop, but I'd like to be able to manage this using a project style.Does anyone know if this is possible?Thanks

I have RoboHelp 10 and we are upgrading to O365. Will RoboHelp 10 run with this? If so, is there a patch that I need to make sure I have applied?

1. We have RoboHelp 8 and Adobe Captivate 4 from years ago.       We now have found out that there is a vulnerability in all RoboHelp versions and need to upgrade to at least RoboHelp 11.       Are the old RoboHelp and Captivate file formats, structures, directory organization, etc compatible with RoboHelp 2015?  If not, how about RoboHelp 11?       Are there instructions on how to do the upgrade such that everything remains (or is converted) for compatibility?2. Are the Captivate 4 files compatible with Captivate 9?  We use mainly SWF files.

I couldn't rename the topic from the Project manager, it's disabled. Is there a way to fix that issue without the need to re-package the whole project as this will cost usmuch effort we did on the branding?

Hello,A new person started at my office and installed the TCS 2015 suite on her new Windows 10 laptop. While training her on the use of RoboHelp, we realized that she can't see the Style Preview text in the FrameMaker Conversion Settings dialog box (in Project Settings). The fields are strangely squished and don't display properly. I have never seen this before. All the rest of us are still on Windows 8.1 so I have to think this is a Win 10 problem.I made sure she updated to all the latest FM/RH releases and rebooted her machine, but the problem is still there. Her graphics card is up to date.I tried to file a bug about this and it looks like there's a new bug reporting system called "Tracker." Well, Tracker insists that you select items from drop-down lists, like "Platform" but there is nothing in the list to select from, in almost all of the lists. So you have to select something, but there's nothing to select, and you can't submit the bug. I would file a bug about the bug reporting

Hi,Is there any way to split a single word document into the multiple topics, while importing to the RoboHelp 2015?

Hi all,I'm using RH11, Multiscreen HTML5 output in a merged structure, hosted on a webserver.I couldn't see anything obvious, but is there any way to mark search results that aren't html files?For example, if the search results include a pdf document, can I turn on something so that a little pdf icon appears next to the link? I need to change the href link set over the Logo in responsive HTML 5 output. RoboHelp 2015 automatically set the link to the home of the help but I need to point to the home of the web site. In the index.html the href is related to rh.consts('DEFAULT_TOPIC'), someone knows how to change this value?Thank you.

I installed the new Robohelp update this morning hoping for a fix to the TOC filtering defect (and other defects that were not fixed). While the TOC issue seems to be improved, my Style and Formatting tab is now possessed. It flickers constantly like it keeps trying to load an reload the style sheet. Maybe it corrupted the css file? Is anyone else noticing this? Robohelp is basically broken now.

My doubt is if I can view content in HTML5 when I'm not connected to the internet.In the IT company where I work for, we are currently using Microsoft HTML Help (CHM files) for creating helps to the software we develop here.The problem is that microsoft compiled help will not have any new feature. So we were thinking about changing our helps to HTML5 layout. Also because it is responsive, we would like to use the dynamic content filtering, for many reasons.However, our doubt is if our customer does not have connection to internet, will he/she be able to access the software help by clicking F1?I am not a programmer, I am only a technical writer, maybe they know how to fix it (or they will figure out), but before I would like to know: Is it possible?Thanks in advance! OK - some backstory first. To create our context sensitive help, we do as we should - create map IDs and link to topics in RH (11 and 2015 - we are transitioning).For WebHelp, we worked with our dev teams to come up with a fairly easy strategy to make it work - we copy the entire contents of the .ali file to another file saved with the xml extension (Help.xml), attach that as a baggage file to the project, and publish it to the root of the projects on our websites. The dev team worked their magic on their side to call that file anytime a client clicks on Help or presses F1, so that the Help opens and displays the correct topic. It works, as long as we content developers remember to update (recopy) the contents of the ali file to the static xml file (never changes name, so it can be found on the server) to pick up additions and edits to the map IDs --> ali file contents.So - now the dev team wants to add VIDEO buttons to application windows that will open a Help topic that contains a

I have several screen layouts to choose from in RH2015.  I am unable to edit them.  The edit option is greyed out.  Can someone help me to make them editable?  Thanks, Jeff K.

I've just updated my system and went from Windows XP to Windows 7 and had to reinstall the Tech. Communication Suite 3 but can't find how to install robosource. On my windows XP system there was a folder under the progream directory titled Robosource but it's not longer there. I checked in the Adobe directory...nothing...in the Robohelp 9 directory....nothing.can anyone help?

RH11 WebHelp. Novice/Intermediate Search Experience. Large Merged Project. I do not want the user search to pick up terms in a glossary definition. Seems to give certain pages too many hits and elevates topics in the Search Results that should not be elevated. Confuses my users and I do not see how to turn it off anywhere.

Using Robohelp 11 webhelp with an external link, clicking on the link directly is causing a pure white page to be displayed, even though the link is confirmed to be valid.  If I right-click on the link to display it that way, it displays with no issue, but just clicking on the link without right-clicking causes nothing to be displayed.  This is using Chrome.  Any ideas why this would be failing?

Hello,I'm looking for a way to see which topics are not being viewed in my Help site. I'm using RH 2015 with responsive HTML5 SSL and hosting on RoboServer 9.The RoboServer reports provides a view count for topics that have been viewed in a given time frame, but I would like to see what topics were not accessed in that same time frame. I was hoping there was an easy way to export the topic list inside RoboHelp - where it lets you filter by TOC, TOC Name, Status etc.  This way I could blend the topic list with view count data from the Frequently Viewed Topic report (provided in RoboServer admin console). However, I have not figured out how to pull a list of all topics - in particular all topics used in a specific TOC.Does anybody have an ideas of how to accomplish this?Thank you!Chris

We are having constant issues with RoboHelp 11 when attempting to publish a Project to SharePoint 2010. The error message just states 'Unknown Error' and references an image file for a recently imported topic. As there appear to be no settings in the import function to specify how to handle image names the only remedy we have found is to manually amend the path for every image loaded during the import routine to be ../IMAGENAME rather than the full file path for the Image. In addition we have had to rename each image to avoid over writing existing images. As you can image this is extremely frustrating and time consuming.Any assistance would be appreciated as we are getting to the point of looking for an alternative product as it is clear that RoboHelp 11 does not work well with SharePoint.

I have begun to use javascript within my RoboHelp 2015 for font awesome font icons. I want to use the plus and minus icons to show and hide content. Unfortunately I am struggling with adding the script while using the RoboHelp DHTML dropdown text functionality.The html script was suggested to me, but it does not use the robohelp dropdown html coding.'Anyone have suggestions on how to make it work? I'm using RoboHelp 11 to generate WebHelp that includes a ToC, glossary, index, and page-level context-sensitive help.We currently offer it in English only, but there is a new requirement to provide it in 4 or 5 different languages (all supported by RoboHelp 11).The software team is asking whether we can display the different help sets (French, Japanese, etc.) based on the browser's language settings or something passed to it by our web application. The specific questions are:Can RoboHelp automatically determine the language from browser settings?Or can RoboHelp accept arbitrary parameters in the URL and analyze them?Or maybe RoboHelp already has a built-in mechanism to accept a call with a URL which contains a predefined param for defining the languageThanks!Christina

Hi everyone,Breadcrumbs are appearing at top of pages, but they go directly from "Home" > [final destination topic].  In other words, they are no longer breadcrumbs, per se, since they show only "Home" and then the final destination -- with none of the steps (i.e. books) in between. They are not listing the books -- just "Home" and then the topic in question, and leaving out which book the topic is in, or any other steps in between.I think I screwed something up while messing around with master pages.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you!Mark Thiel

Hi all,Currently, my content runs all the way across my widescreen monitor to the right edge of the monitor.Is there a way to set a right margin so that digital output does not appear in a browser to run the entire horizontal width of the screen?Or is the only answer to use tables -- to embed all body text in table cells in order to constrain "margins"?
