We have begun working with RoboHelp 2022 after having used 2017 for the past several years, and are still encountering snags. For instance, yesterday I imported an entire project into 2022, but that brought over the !SSL! folder (it ended up in the table of contents), which is not used by 2022. Is it safe to simply delete it? Is there a way to keep that from happening again? While we're at it, I'm also having trouble with the Search function. How does that work? Thanks to anyone who can help (Hi, Peter Grainge!)
Is there an article that I can send to our IT dept other than this onehttps://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/publish-sharepoint.htmlthat would give them insight into some of the questions they are having as it relates to enabling custom scripts in order to be able to publish to Sharepoint Online? (see below). Backstory is that I sent him an article I found that stated in order to publish output to Sharepoint Online we needed to enable custom JavaScript to view the .aspx files on SharePoint server . These questions were what he sent back to me. I'd like to send them a link or something that might answer some of this stuff because I don't know the answers. They are the IT guys 😉 Thanks in advance!! 1. Will there be any API calls outside of the SharePoint site? What will be installed on the SharePoint site . Java script? Will a app need to be installed on the site?
I have .docx file with terms and definitions (thousands of definitions). Is there any way I can use this docx file for my glossary in RH? Can i convert it to a different form and then import somehow? I see that it's looking for a .glo file when I click on Import. Any tips or tricks that anyone has to make this fasterr? Thanks.
We are wanting to publish our file to Sharepoint Online. One of the prequisites listed to do this is that we need to enable custom scripts. In talking with the IT director he has asked me specificially "what type of data will be in use?" I'm not sure what he's looking for here. This is where he loses me. Does anyone know what he's asking for?
Hi,I was wondering where I could change the behavior of the ToC for responsive HTML output when using the Azure_Blue Template.Previously (RH 2017) on all devices (mobile, tablet, desktop) the ToC was shown nicely: When a book was opened - it unfolded and all the chapters were displayed - and still all the other books were visible. Now (for mobile and tablet) the ToC display switches and only the opened book with the chapters is visible - the other books are gone and the user needs to tap on the opened book to switch back to the original view to see the complete ToC again. In addition the text "Skip to main content" is displayed. (For desktop it still behaves as RH 2017.)Can anybody give me a hint on how to change the behavior of mobile/tablet ToC to always show the complete ToC, just "unfolding" the subchapters of an opened book?
Hi all!I want to know if we can get the topic name in the HTML page title when we generate output using Responsive HTML preset. For example, I have created a project with title 'Test Project' in RoboHelp.I have added two topics to this projectWhen I generate the Responsive HTML output, I can see that the HTML page shows 'Test Project' in the title. Is it possible to show 'Second Topic' when I click on it instead of 'Test Project'?If I remove the project title from the settings, the filename including .htm extension is shown which is not what I want. Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this. Thanks very much!

Hi, I'm using Robohelp 2017, with the Indigo responsive HTML5 output. The texts below the menu bullets appear incomplete when they exceed the expected length. Is there a way for them to be displayed in full or on two lines? I'm attaching an image with an example of incomplete text
Hello! So I am fairly new to RoboHelp and coding, I only started using this program two months ago and had no codng experience prior. It's has been a bit of a learning curve, but I am starting to get the hang of it and tried some of the training modules available for it. I am however having an issue which although isn't stopping me from doing my job, it is much more time consuming then I feel it needs to be. I am currently working on doing a full update of our Knowledge Base which is upwards of 900 articles. We review the documents on MS Word and then transfer them over to RoboHelp, however the issue I am having is with my hyperlinks. As soon as I paste them into RoboHelp from MS Word, the destination of all my links dissapears and I have to manually edit each one to add the destination into all of the links. They transfer over and still look like hyperlinks (blue and underlined) its just the link is broken every time. Some links are just project files which I can sort out re
I'm having an issue where the DOCTYPE declaration in RoboHelp 2017 keeps reverting to this:<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">When I change it to either of these, RH reverts it back:<!DOCTYPE html> or <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN">I'm asking because ever time I make a change in a topic and save it, I'm getting this exception error message which is quite annoying:I can only assume it's related to the DOCTYPE declaration.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm on RoboHelp 2022.3.93. I'm really stumped with this one. Using the Collaborate menu, I'm able to set up a Connection Profile and sign in to my SharePoint account. However, when I try to add a project, there is no Add Project menu option as detailed on the Help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/sharepoint.html. I've set up projects using this feature before and have been able to open the project, check out files, make changes, check in files, etc. I'm able to select existing projects and have them sync to my laptop. I just can't figure out how to add a new project.
RH 2022.3.93Frameless output---Just a heads-up for people who use bookmarks in dropdowns: do not start bookmark IDs with a number in a dropdown. If you make a link to a bookmark starting with a number and click on the link, you will be directed to the general topic but the dropdown will fail to expand. e.g. in topic B you have a dropdown with two bookmarks: <p><a class="dropspot" data-rhwidget="DropSpot" data-target="drop-down" href="#">dropdownz</a></p><div class="droptext" data-targetname="drop-down"> <p><a id="test1"></a>test1</p> <p><a id="1test"></a>1test</p></div> Create a topic A and add links to both bookmarks (hyperlinks or crossrefs both exhibit the same problem). The first link will successfully auto-open the dropdown, the second will not.
I have an extensive document that I have inherited (6000+ topics in several publications) that is authored in English (US)One of our subsidiaries has translated each topic individually into German by copying and editing the project and manually overtyping the content to create a whole new Robohelp project. I am now trying to fix this issue and do the job properly. Is there a way to bring these files back into my original project so I can then use the Translations panel to manage any further work that will be needed (without converting them all to XLIF)? I have tried linking to an existing project but that did not capture the translated files. I then assumed that if I created a translation project and then overwrote the content with my German project, the original file would recognize and accept the update, but this has not worked.
I have a large project that I maintain and add to. It is normally output to two destinations, one is a chm file, one is a web file. The web file is uploaded to a remote server, the chm file is included in our installation exe. Each of these outputs uses a different condition.I have a conditional statement in every page that will include one of two stylesheets depending on the output destination. For no apparent reason, Robohelp has decided it no longer wants to include my default stylesheet into the web output files. The Log simply states "Skipped copying external file "C:/Users/andrew.snape/Cimatron Work Folder/css/default.css" - even though the file is not external, it is included in the project. Can anyone offer some advice?
How to show/hide a topic I'm working on a user guide comprising 20 features, all consolidated into a single responsive HTML output using RoboHelp 2022.The application has a role "Client" and "Client- Hourly".This "Client- Hourly" role should not see 4 to 5 features. So I need to hide those topics for "Client- Hourly" and show all topics for "Client". There should only be one responsive HTML. Depending on the role, the topics should be shown/hidden.How can I achieve this in RoboHelp 2022 without generating two separate responsive HTML outputs?
I have a question. I have asked this in prior posts, but will try again bc it is a big problem for me. I've created ordered and unordered list styles for 3 levels. I have cleared formatting in the lists that I'm having trouble with and I have clicked the "none" option in the bullets and numbering toolbar buttons at the top of RH. Level 1 applies fine. But, when I try to Tab to move in to level 2 it doesn't work. I've looked through CSS code and I feel like it's right, but I'm obviously missing something. I will add some screenshots and attach an example of what is happening. This first screenshot is the desired outcome. This is the document in Word that we imported into RH. The highlighted text is where the problem is (one area I'm haivng the problem, althought it's happening in most all of the files we are importing. ) I'm needing to change the existing bullets to lower-alpha numbers. I cleaer the formatting on the exis
We have an old project created in RH2019 Classic which used a customised Webhelp skin. We had removed the header and also the search field (we just had a search tab in the left-hand area). The company has upgraded to RH2020, and updating the projects (there are over 100 of them) does not upgrade the customised skins. I have managed to perform most of the customisations, but cannot see how to remove the header and search field. Is there a way to do this?
I think I just hit my breaking point. I've spent one entire day messing with these lists trying everything I can think of to just add 1/2" space between my number or bullet and my text. I've messed with the autonumbering, I've messed with ol and ul styles and decimal styles and alpha numberic styles, disc styles, created my own styles, modified the existing styles and I can't make it work. I've literally spent the last 20 years teaching paragraph numbering in MS Word to adults of varying skill level. I cannot believe it is this confusing. I have NO (ZERO) idea what any of the fields inside of the "style editor", I guess it's called, even do as it relates to setting up a freaking numbered or bulleted list. Prefix Width, what is it? What does it control? Do I need it? Indent? What does that control? If I literally click the increase arrow on the indent field, what is it indenting. Sometimes my preview will move allow
Hi, I have a project with many styles. I edited and redefined must of them,I see them fine on the screen, but when I generate the output it keeps the previous styles. Can you help me? Thank you
I am working with Multilevel lists in RH 2022. I've imported a document from Word into RH. I have created my list style and configured it for 4 levels (3, actually is all that is needed.) I'm going through my imported file and I'm trying to apply my list style to the parts of the document that need the numbering. Things are going great in some parts of the document and then in others, I am unable to use the Tab key to move the lines to the next level. I select the lines that need the numbers applied to them, and select my list style that I created called KEESMultilevelList and then I press Tab because I need it to be a level 2 and nothing happens. Earlier in this same document, tab works and allows me to move the lines in to the next level. I've looked at the CSS source code and I have no idea what the hell I'm even looking at. In addition to this problem, I also have a strange issue where these random paragraph markers appear in my
RoboHelp 2022 (version 2022.2.22). The preview for the Azure Blue skin in the skin editor looks like this (and when I generated it on Tuesday, the output also looked like this): Today, the preview still looks like, but the generated output looks like this: Instead of at the top, the TOC and index buttons are to the side. The TOC also behaves differently. I'm not sure what changed between Tuesday and yesterday/today - the output on Tuesday looked like the first screen print, and when I opened a book in the TOC, it still showed all of the TOC books (similar to how it does in frameless and how the TOC behaved in RH2017). But now when I open a TOC book, it only shows the contents of that book and I have to select a previous folder icon () to get back to view all of the books. I don't know what happened from one day to the next - yesterday morning I viewed the output before I even opened RoboHelp and it had changed, and no one else works in
RoboHelp 2022 (version 2022.2.22) Experimenting with trying to use a frameless template, and trying to make links behave the same way that they do in our current projects (RH2017). The projects are all on an intranet site. External links:When using a frameless template, is there a way to make an external link (usually a topic in another project) appear in the center panel (make it replace the current topic with the external link, still viewing the same TOC and header from the original project)? If the Same Frame option is selected for the link, in an HTML5 template (and RH2017), the link opens in the same frame and you can still see the toc (and header, etc). If I select the same frame option in a frameless template, it opens the link in the whole window, so it appears that you are no longer in the same site. (Which I suppose you're not, but we want it to remain in the frame, or the center panel in frameless, only). Is that possible?&
Our company logo was in the top right of the PDF output, but it no longer shows there since the update. Furthermore, the appearance and disappearance of the header and footer text is quite erratic. Some pages show no header/footer at all, some only show a header, others only a footer, and some show both, but still without the images. The images *are* visible in the master page itself. I have not changed a single thing on my master page for PDF. It was working perfectly before the update. It took me quite some time to get this working correctly. In about 3 weeks we will need to release the pdf output for this project. Please Adobe, help. I can't keep spending hours and hours again on things that suddenly break when I need to release actual documents with this software.
I have created a comprehensive index in RoboHelp Version 2020.7.46 and output it to HTML5 help. In the output, when I click on a keyword, it takes me to the correct topic. When I click on a subkeyword, it shows four boxes looping around eachother in an endless spin. How can I fix this?
