I’ve been using Adobe Acrobat to export PDFs to Word, but in some cases (especially documents with tables or multiple columns), the formatting ends up completely off. Does anyone here have recommendations for online tools that handle layout better? I've tried this PDF to word  converter, which is good but doesn't support batch processing. I’m open to trying other free tools if they work reliably. Thanks in advance!

I'm running the latest version of Acrobat on Mac Sequoia.  The problem arises when I OCR a document. I choose Scan & OCR > Recognize text > In this file.While Acrobat is busily OCRing the document there are two issues.First, when I am using other programs while Acrobat is OCRing, every so often Acrobat will suddenly become the top window even though I haven't touched it.Second, once Acrobat starts OCRing the document I can't "hide" Acrobat.  Right-clicking on the icon in the dock then selecting "hide" does nothing.  I can't use click "Acrobat > Hide" in the tool bar at the top because this does nothing.  All I get is the watch icon where the mouse pointed should be.Any ideas to deal with this annoying problem?

I have gone through the built in Adobe pro repair. uninstalled and reinstalled all Adobe products and done a clean uninstall and reinstall. I used Windows process monitor to determine that the acrotray.exe service is what was handling that conversion from the context menu. I also tried deleting that service, repaired Adobe which recreated the acrotray.exe service and attempted the same conversion but it did not help. We have been converting Word documents and if you open the document and use the Adobe PDF printer or the Save as PDF function it works but our client likes to convert files in bulk which is much easier through the context menu. I have also tried Word documents from multiple sources and created test documents all with the same results. Any ideas or recommendations for what actions I can try next t

I'm using "Continuous Release | Version 2025.001.20474 | 64-bit" Coworkers and myself have noted multiple issues with Adobe features only working intermittently. Primarily Organize Pages ability to drag and drop will just stop working. On restart of the program, it will work again; however, this seems to be a significant design flaw. Our workflows of having multiple documents open and dragging/dropping to organize is hampered greatly by having to restart Adobe. This happens across mulitple users, many different PDFs, and multiple re-installs. Also, scrolling (particularly holding ctrl+mouse scroll wheel) stops working intermittently.  Both of these seem reproducible whenever Print to PDF is used; however, seems it occurs at other times as well. PDF printing is also a feature that needs to be usable without activating these bugs. Thank you

Hi all, I am having trouble with rich media buttons sticking after saving and reopening in desktop app. if I open online, all buttons are there no issues. But when opening the same file on the desktop app the buttons disappear and when shutting document down, it asks me to save the document even though I have made no changes. (It made changes by opening without my button). Anyone have the fix for this? 

Adobe Acrobat Pro, I cannot highlight. I have tried everything in all of the suggestions from all the other posts. It's not protected, it recognized the text, I have updated and repaired, I have reset preferences, I have saved as pdf/x, etc. etc. if the suggestion exists in these conversations, I have tried them all. What next Adobe? I don't understand why such a frequently needed tool is so difficulty to use, and why so many people have gotten on these forums to figure it out. If it matters I'm on a pc.

I was trying to print a pdf and it would not print no matter what io did. No codes or messages. Nothing. I have a new HP PC and sought support from them. The person enrolled me in trial acrobat extension. I was telling him that it is a cost related extension. The person said, dont worry. Its the reader version. That is what i believe i had for years and I had other work than to sit and stare at the screen.; So I let hime do it with a warning that I didnt want a pay version or a trial. It worked and printed my PDF. So today I see an error text on my Chrome  and go to see why. It needed my to check off that it was an extension. As I am working through it it looks like exactly what I dont need. So, I want to get out of it if it is going to cost me and I dont think I need it. Do I? also I cant find any way to accomplish getting information unless I go to a forum. Can someone help me get support? Please Thanks 

The above issue happened to me overnight.  Yesterday, I had "combine files" under right click menu, today I do not.  ALso, the "convert to adobe" option has disappeared as well.  I use this feature all day, everyday, the right click option is so convenient.  I am not comfortable messing with registry, my IT company is no longer in business.  I have restarted my computer to no avail.  Any other suggestions?  My adobe software is so old, should I update it?

I have text boxes in Word for document headers and footers. They contain STYLEREF fields, pulling the most recent instance of Heading 1 into each text box. When I export to tagged PDF, each of these headers or footers has extraneous characters at the beginning. For example, the first Heading 1 is "1. Situation." (This is flat text, not autonumbered.) In the PDF it reads "0B1. Situation." A later Heading 1 is "5. Oversight, Coordinating Instructions, & Communications." It becomes "4B5. Oversight, Coordinating Instructions, & Communications" in the PDF. Attached are screen captures of the field in the Word doc and of the result in PDF. I am using Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise, Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2208 Build 16.0.15601.20676) 64-bit and Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 23.001.20143.0. How can I get rid of these extraneous characters, short of unlinking all the fields and turning them into flat text?
