RoboHelp

We have a project that has been added to sharepoint using Collaborate > Add Project. I need to edit this project so I selected Collaborate > Open Connection > Sharepoint Profile. I navigated to the folder on sharepoint, selected the .rhjp file and selected Open. Robohelp said it was downloading files. It is a huge project  (nearly 7,000 files).The project is now in Robohelp. However, when I went to edit a topic, I did not get a message to say that it is not checked out. If  I right-click the topic, check out is not listed as an option and if I select Collaborate > Check in, the file I have edited is not showing up as needing to be checked in. Its like Robohelp does not think there is any version control on this topic. So far, this has happened on about 4 topics. However, its not happening on all of them. I have now selected collaborate > Get latest version to try and get these files from sharepoint. In Robohelp Classic 19, is there a way when I link to the certain topics on the page that the URL link will direct the user to that individual topic?  For example when I click on the JIS Cross Reference Word-JIS and that topic. The URL never changes making it difficult for me to link to certain topics/forms.      Moving from Using the Community (which is about the forums) to the correct forum... I'm using RoboHelp to create a PDF, then embedding that PDF into a CHM (again using RoboHelp) so users can easily print the Help contents. This process has worked seamlessley for years, but when I recompiled yesterday, the PDF will no longer load in Microsoft's CHM viewer. Instead, I just get a blank gray screen, shown below. There's nothing wrong with the PDF, and when I view the CHM using RoboHelp, the PDF works fine. I've narrowed it down to whether or not Acrobat is installed on the machine. If it is, the PDF doesn't load, but uninstalling Acrobat will prompt the user to Open or Save it, since the CHM viewer is using Internet Explorer in the background. Has anyone else experienced this? The only workaround so far is to set the PDF to open in a new window, which will open it in IE. This is far from ideal.

I import a property_master.hts snippet file and a property_detail.htm file for our property listings. The snippet has hyperlinks to the bookmarks in the property_detail file. When I preview the snippet, I can click on a hyperlink and it navigates to the appropriate bookmark. However, when I generate the frameless output and try it in any browser, clicking on the hyperlink goes to the property_detail html page, but does not go to the bookmark. Sometimes it looks like it's going to the bookmark, but then jumps to the top of the page. This works correctly when generated with RH classic 2019, but not in the new RH 2019.  Any idea how I get it to navigate to the bookmark in the generated output? Thanks

Using Windows 10 and the latest updates to RoboHelp 2020 and FrameMaker 2020. Linking and importing FrameMaker documents within RoboHelp used to worked with the 2017 versions of the software. It does not work using the 2020 versions. I create a new project in RoboHelp 2020, create a new folder, link or import FrameMaker 2020 documents or book, then try to Create/Update the files, but no topics are created. Are there steps needed to get this to work? This is basic functionality that should work out-of-the-box. Need to deliver work, so I do not have months to wait for a fix. Thanks.

I'm using RoboHelp 2020.5.71. In Firefox, topics with multiple auto-numbered lists aren't displaying the numbers in the correct order:  Chrome does not have the same problem:Is there a way to fix this?

The error in the subject line is generated/recorded when loading/opening my combined help frameless output (generated with RH2020.1.54). Occurs for both Chrome and Edge Chromium.  Thoughts? 

Hi, In RH 2020 I have created a new skin based on Azure_Blue. I want to be able to change the size of the title style contained in the Header section (i.e. not in a topic). I can see how to change the background colour, font colour, but not the font size. How can I do this in the project please? I can only find the style rule in the layout.css file in the output folder (body.media-desktop div.header div.title), but I'm assuming that there must be some way to set the size in the project itself? Thanks, Mark  

We are creating Microsoft HTML Help CHM output from a RoboHelp 7 HTML project (in English). This problem does not happen for other outputs such as FlashHelp, WebHelp, and Printed Documentation. This happens with font Arial and Arial Unicode MS. Some special characters appear fine in RH7HTML, but in the output CHM file a A^ (a capital letter A with a roof on it: Â) appears in front of each of them. This happens for (for example): copyright, registered, mu, plus-minus, one-quarter, one-half. However, this does not happen for Greek characters and mathematical symbols. We entered all of these special characters by copying them from Microsoft Word, where they were inserted by Insert > Symbol, where the font was "(normal text)". Of course, we would not expect that all of Word's special characters appear in HTML output, but we do not know why that A^ character appears. Hi,I am currently using Robohelp Version 10 and I tried to open the Output file in Chrome and MS Edges, after following the steps given in the following link :https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/webhelp-issues-robohelp-versions-10.html Now, when i tried to open, an error message is displaying stating that Exception : reply for which no request exist. On clicking ok, the TOC Panel working fine except the first page (Introduction) and the Last Page (Glossary) . I am using RH 2020.5.71.I have many situations where I want to use a snippet but there is just one word that needs to be different from one case to another. For example, let's say I have two topics and I want one to say "Four score and seven years ago" and the other to say "Four score and seven days ago". Is there are way to insert a variable into the snippet so it is "Four score and seven {UNITS} ago"? And then in topic #1 I set the variable value to be "years" and topic #2, set the variable value to be "days"? I know this is asking a lot, but thought I would check. My real snippet is much more complex, containing graphics and multiple occurances of {UNITS}.

Looks like I'm having about the same problem as PMCDEV (see post Project upgraded from RH9 to RH2020 missing all to... - Adobe Support Community - 12121403).In my case it concerns an upgrade of a RH2017 project to RH2020. In our project we have several folders  containing the topics. Only part of these folders are carried over to RH2020 when upgrading the project. The upgrade stops within a minute with the following message: "The application has run into an error. Please save your unsaved changes and restart from menu: Help > Restart RoboHelp". Restarting does not solve the problem. As a result of the solutions offered to PMCDEV I tried to fix the .fpj's with a script. This doesn't help.  I don't know much about fpj files and don't know what to look for to see if they are ok. Can someone help me with my issue?

Hi,I have upgraded my xpj pjt to robohelp 2019 version. I have noticed after upgrade missed the existing toc, indez, search, glossay from xpj older project. Pls let me know if anything needs to do while upgarding existing project to keep existing toc, search, glossary etc. Thanks & regards,Dileep

We have short section & topic titles so when we display the Contents in any of the phone layouts, there's a lot of whitespace between the TOC entries and the wee bit of topic displayed in the right pane. I tried changing the width of the TOC pane in the custom skin I created, and that change sticks in RoboHelp after I Save All and even open and close the file. However, when I generate the Help, the TOC panel displays in the default width. Is there any way to narrow the TOC pane in phone view? If so, are there any caveats in doing so?

Is there a way to open the generated output from the windows file explorer? I'm testing RoboHelp 2020 on a virtual machine and would like to test the output outside of that environment. I can open the windows explorer files on my regular PC, but I'm not sure where the ouptuts are saved.

Not sure if this can be controlled from RH2020. I have a frameless output and the when we click Help from within the product, the help is launched in a new browser window.However, it does not display the full browser controls like the Refresh button or Back and Next buttons. Is that something that we can set from RH?

I was able to create pdf's in release 4 but after applying release 5 I get the error "Output Generation Failed to generate PDF."Has anyone else had this problem?

I am using RoboHelp 2020. When I change to a different TOC item my browser tab text is reading the title of the table of contents. I would like the browser tab to be a specified fixed name, is that possible? I looked for the option to make this chane in Project Settings, as othr posts suggested, however, I do not see any option of adjusting how the browser tab text responds.  Does anyone know where I can adjust this element?

Hello,The .rhpj file "Date modified" date is never updated/accurate. Is there a way or file within the folder structure that you'al go by to determine the date that it was last updated? Thank you so much.

V12.0.2.384Using Preview Topic a LOT, suddenly it broke - the window no longer is generated or appears. I don't know if this is a bug or if somehow the window is hidden, but when I right-click on the topic and choose Preview Topic, something flashes really fast in the bottom bar and I can't tell what it is - all I can catch is "Waiting for .....file ....."I've tried rebooting. My project is local. I've spent an hour trying to get this to work again. I use Preview Topic ALL THE TIME. Now I must review the whole system each time I want to see my topic's appearance. UGH! Can anyone help??
