Is it possible to add arrows and captions over placed images in RoboHelp 2019 (new UI)?
Breadcrumb separators! By default, you get a ":" (colon) after the "Home" breadcrumb and then a forward slash "/" for subsequent breadcrumb separators. While changing the Home breadcrumb separator can be performed in the RoboHelp GUI, changing the subsequent breadcrumb separators isn't so obvious. But I'm still learning the new GUI so maybe there's another/better way to do this, in which case hopefully someone can reply with it. If not, the method here worked for me, and I logged a feature request to have this config functionality added to the RH 2019 GUI for frameless output.Change the home separatorGo to Output>Labels>English (US) (this is the default/only language for my project - yours may be different) and select FRAMELESS. In BreadcrumbStart, replace the ":" character with the "|" - or whatever character you prefer. Save the changes. That's the easy one. The forward slash is a little trickier. Change subsequent separatorsFinding where to change this took some digging,
I followed the instructions to create a GIT key. I tested it and it works. When I attempt to complete the Connections Profiles screen and put in the link to my SSH Private Key I get the SSH Error: SSH Key could not be added to the ssh-agent. Make sure that ssh-agent is running and the key is valid. I worked with my IT support and he was unable to make it work. How do I resolve this? Thank you
I've updated some text in one of our help projects and output as HTML Help (as we always do).Other than the initial page in the TOC, all other pages result (in the TOC) result in this:Can’t reach this pageMake sure the web address //ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm# is correctSearch for this site on Bing Refresh the page Preview Topic and Edit Topic in Robohelp work as expected.Index and Search in the output chm work as expected.Using the Auto-Create TOC (with delete current TOC ticked) also has the same problem. A 5 minute change is now turning into a major undertaking.Any help would be really appreciated.
Running into issues trying to create a table style that mirrors the table in the image below (in terms of borders and shading) in RoboHelp 2019 (new) using the CSS editor. Tried setting up a new table style and configuring it as follows (this is/was dependent on my thinking/assumption that the configuration for FIRST ROW would supercede the configuration for ODD ROWS (that is, just for row #1)): WHOLE TABLE (Apply formatting to) GENERAL Border Collapse: Select (default) BORDER Style: Solid Color: #ced3d8 Width: 1 px All FIRST ROW (Apply formatting to) BORDER Style: Solid Color: #738DA8 Width: 4 px Bottom BACKGROUND Shading: <no-color/redline* also tried specifying white, but to no avail> EVEN ROWS (Apply formatting to) BORDER Style: Solid Color: #ced3d8 Width: 1 px Bottom + Top BACKGROUND Shading: <no-color/redline* also tried specifying white, but to no avail> ODD ROWS (Apply formatting to) BORDER Style: Solid Color:&nbs
I checked this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/RoboHelp/Remove-quot-Click-here-to-see-this-page-link-in-full-context/m-p/9567071#M119495 and I am able to get this done. How can I change the font of this note and the header that says : Click here to see this page in full contextAlso in the header of the context sensitive minimized page I see the logo in the left. How can I hide that?I have already hidden the default logo from the page when seen in full context.
I have an Adobe licence for using Photoshop and I have a different Adobe licence for RoboHelp and I need to be able to use them both at the same time... but I can't! If I'm signed in to RoboHelp I'm signed out of Photoshop, and if I'm signed in to Photoshop I'm signed out of RoboHelp. I need to be able to use BOTH these products at once, as the documentation I create for work requires images that I edit in photoshop, and I also need to maintain the two licences separate (I am a freelancer so the photoshop licence is personal, while the people that are contracting me for work have paid for and created the RoboHelp licence). How can I resolve this situation? How can I use both products at once without having to constantly sign out and back in again (which is an absolute waste of my time and a ridiculous way to try and work with any efficiency)?
For the original "Duplication issues in RH 2019 Frameless Output" post, I marked Peter Grainge's answer as correct. I have some additional info to add.Regarding the duplication of topic names listed in the "In This Topic" section, Peter determined that the duplication is occurring as a result of a heading style being applied to DropDown text. He said Adobe plans to include a fix for this duplication in the next release. Our IT department told us we needed Windows Server 2016 for the server to properly display the frameless output. They set up a new test server for us. The new server resolved most of the issues I noted in the previous post.We did notice differences between how Chrome and IE display the content. See image below:Chrome appears to display the content well (duplication issue aside). IE does not display the "In This Topic" region. IE also appears to stretch some of the icons horizontally (almost as if forcing them to be "square").&nbs
Hi there, I'm having trouble with converting captions from FrameMaker to RoboHelp. The characters look fine in FrameMaker, but once converted into a graphic by RoboHelp, some of the Polish and Spanish accented characters don’t display properly. I normally insert a caption with an image within an anchored frame and apply Segoe UI font to this capture. Once it's converted by RoboHelp, Polish and Spanish characters don't display properly anymore. We use Distiller to convert FM->RH. Using Distiller to create a PDF works fine, so this must be a RH bug. Has anyone else had the same problem? I wouldn't like to use any workarounds, but right now the outcome is pretty poor in a browser. Captions are almost illegible.
Is there an open bug for RH freezing when the user works in the HTML editor, rather than the WYSIWYG editor? I'm seeing the issue again in RH 2019, and it was also a problem in RH 2015. If there is a bug for the issue, when will it be addressed? Thank you,Cindy
Breadcrumb separators + frameless outputs! By default, you get a ":" (colon) after the starting "Home" breadcrumb and then a "/" (forward slash) for subsequent separators. But, how and where do you change these? I looked into it and here's what I found; perhaps there's an easier method. Change the Home separator Go to Output>Labels>English (US) (this is the default/only language for my project - yours may be different) and select FRAMELESS. In BreadcrumbStart, replace the ":" character with the "|" - or whatever character you prefer. Save the changes. That's the easy one. The forward slash is a little trickier. Change subsequent separators Finding where to change this took some digging, but it appears to be controlled/specified using the following code in several instances of the layout.css file that are installed/stored under the RoboHelp 2019 program files (file paths provided below): .rh-layout-BCRUMBS-list-item::before {content: "/";margin: 0 0.5rem
Hi, I have a Responsive HTMl5 output of the online help. When the user launches the help by clicking the Help link in the product, by default the home page that opens is always minimized. How can we ensure that by default the help page should open maximized or full screen?
My issue is: every time when CSH is called, it “flickers through the landing page (where all the tiles are), then flickers about 2 more times, and then it finds the topic” in approximately 2 seconds. It looks like it has to go through the hierarchy of the online help system to find the topic. My Developer is using .java provided by Adobe and the call is this http://localhost/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhmapno=1 Do you know if we need to add anything to the call to stop the “going through the hierarchy” to find the topic? Thank you so so much. I also replied to this post https://community.adobe.com/t5/RoboHelp/Indigo-flickering-via-CSH/m-p/10674749#M126873
Hi Everyone, I have recently converted a Help project form RH 10 to RH 2019. I ran into a few kinks that I have resolved. However, I find that the Index did not convert perfectly. It appears that any index entry - keyword or subkeyword - that included a comma (",") was separated into separate entries, one for the text before the comma and another for the text after the comma. It will take me some time to fix all the entries that have been split up this way, but it would be a lot easier if there were a way to expand the keyword list in the Index panel so that the list shows all keywords and subkeywords at once. That would make it much quicker for me to identify the problem keywords and subkeywords and fix them. I can't find a way to expand the contents of the Index panel in this way. Is there one? Thanks in advance!
Hi Folks, I've added an image to the master file header section. Is there a way to position it to the top right of the page? I've tried different settings without success. Basically, I just want to have our logo in the top right of each page. Thanks, Ivan
Hi, I am using Rh Reimagined and recently imported a new Word Document to my Contents. But half of the content in the folder turns out like this in my output: As you can see there's a questionmark in front of the topics that there's trouble with. Has anobody else run in to this problem and might know what's wrong? Thanks, K.
Hi Guys A bunch of new menu options appeared at the dusty configuration / admin end of the menu system of the product for which I am producing online help, recently. So I cursed the gods of Agile, fired up the Espresso machine and quickly created a hundred or so new help topics into which I could add the appropriate field / description information. Subsequently I realised a lot of these "new" menu options were actually pre-existing options which have been dragged and dropped from other areas of the system - and for which I had already written help topics. So I now have files with the same name scattered around the various folders, which I have to find. Obviously I have to identify those files that have been duplicated before moving the originals to the new location and deleting the newly created, empty topic files. This task would be a lot easier if there was a way of finding which files have duplicate names and where the originals are located on the system.&nb
We are planning to deliver content in Responsive HTML5 format. Is it in any way possible to prevent end users from editing the content using the Developer options in a browser?
I'm having problems compiling help into Microsoft HTML, and Reponsive HTML5, the two formats I use. As an experiment I tried Multiscreen Help, which annoyingly - since I don't use it - actually works, but at least I guess it tells me that nothing is fundamentally wrong. I can't think of anything I've done to break it, I haven't done anything on it for a few days since I last compiled. I have no doubt I'm going to need to supply more detail here but where do I start?
I have what may or may not be a simple question. We currently have a project published using the Webhelp layout. If I wanted to convert this to one of the HTML5 layouts, would it be as simple as republishing. Will this break any context sensetive links on the website? Thank you for any help you can provide. I appreciate it.
I used to be able to generate PDFs or Word docs in RoboHelp 2015. However, the ability to do that recently stopped. We recently upgraded from Windows 1703 to Windows 1809. And, we switched from Office 2016 to Office 365. When I try to choose Printed Documentation, I get a "Parameter is Incorrect" error. Any ideas how to fix this? Does anyone know what this error means? Thank you.
Every time I try to generate Word doc output in RoboHelp 2019 this is what I receive. All other outputs generate successfully so I'm certain that default.css is working totally fine. Unhandled CssParser error: line 1 col 20: "'" expected. CSS => p{font-size: 12pt'} I would really appreciate your help in fixing this error. I've the latest patch update of RoboHelp too.
We have a context sensitive help that must match an old CHM map table with ids > 1000, 1200, 1300 etc... something like: <alias name="IDH_OUTPUTPANELFORM" value="1000" link="../../contents/myproject/user-guide/workspace/panels/build-output-panel.htm"></alias> The generated CHM document works properly (context map id 1000 opens the correct page) But from the browser the link myproject/Frameless/index.htm?rhmapno=1000 ignores the redirection. when i change the index from 1000 to 1 the link works...but the problem now is the CHM... There is a limit in the map id? There is a way for extending the map id? The only solution is to change all the id to values < 1000? Any suggestions? Thanks
Hi there, I've recently started using Robohelp, I'm new to the role and have downloaded Rh 2019. My colleague has been using Rh for years now and hasn't had these problems. I've copied the project from my colleague onto my machine (project is currently in Rh 2017) and I can use Rh 2019 Classic successfully. However when I come to generate the CHM I receive the two errors in the title of this post. Oddly if I were to upgrade the project into Rh 2019 it'll compile and generate successfully... If I create a new project and add an image to the 'first topic', it'll generate successfully, however won't display the image within the CHM. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott
This information only applies to RH2019 Classic and older. It is not relevant to RH2019 New. In another thread, someone mentioned they upgraded to RH2019 New to resolve a problem with TOC, Index and Search not working for them in an old version of Robohelp. (For those interested the thread is: https://community.adobe.com/t5/RoboHelp/Page-Help-topic-missing-after-compiling-WebHelp-using-RH-2019/td-p/10686385 ) I actually found a resolution to this issue yesterday. My problem occurred with output generated from RH11 on Windows. I haven't tested all outputs or all versions, but I can confirm the problem occurs with Multiscreen HTML5 in RH11 and RH2019 Classic, and just search for Responsive HTML5 for RH2019 Classic. All features worked fine when viewing the help in Internet Explorer, but not when viewing in Chrome. I don't have Firefox or a Mac+Safari to test, but the principle would be the same for those browsers. I found it occurred in the fo
