Hi all,I just came across this weird behavior that seems to have been around for awhile.  Check out these search results:On further testing, it is happening consistently with any words ending in s or ly, as if it's trying to helpfully compensate for plurals or adverbs. Unfortunately in this case, "daily" and "sales" are neither It's not a major hassle, it's just odd. Does this happen for anyone else, or have we screwed up something here?

I've created a project using the HTML5 layout; however, when testing it, the TOC books will not close once opened. Does anyone know what causes this?

Hi all,While converting FM to RH project the variables are incorrectly processed. And doesn't show corretly in WebHelp output.The problem is that I have signs in variables definition like this "** \<some text> more text" that variable displays correctly in FrameMaker, but after creating a project in RH it displays as "** \ more text" in user defined variables in RH.Is there a way to make it work correctly without much effort?Or I need sth to export the variables from framemaker correctly and convert them into a rhvariable.apj file and replace it in RH folder structure?if so is there a easy way to do it or workaround?Please help,I got a giant book in FM with variables named as mention and I don't know how to handle it atm.RH 2015 and FM 2015

Hi,I'm using merged responsive HTML5 Robohelp 2015. Before installing the recent 4.01 update, opening a page in a new window displayed the page and TOC.It now displays just a page with a Show link, as in the example project below:I raise this as my email page link button used to show the page and TOC, but now just shows a page like the above and a user must click the Show button to display the TOC. Previously it used to add the index.htm#t=mergedprojects addition, now you have to click the Show link to add this.My code for the email button is shown below:Is there anyway to display the page and TOC without having to click the Show link?Thanks

I have product online help source authored by various folks in RH 2015.I am joining them with RH 2017. If I edit the RH 2015 source will there be issues in compatibility? Output?Of is installing RH 2015 and then editing the source the best option and holding off RH 2017.Any suggestions would be useful.

Hi there,Is there a way to always show the Print and Go to Top icons no matter how the customer has sized their browser help window? Seems that if I stretch the window to the right a bit I can see both icons but at a certain point, when resizing to the left, the two icons disappear, along with the Search field in the header. Just wondering if this can be adjusted.Currently using RoboHelp 2015, version 12.0.3.428. Creating a Responsive HTML5 help system using the Azure Blue screen layout.Thanks in advance!Tom

Hi,I've managed to get dynamic filters to work as expected on one of my test projects. To get things to work though, I had to create conditional build expressions and use those in dynamic content filter dialog. This was because even though using a standard conditional build tag worked, only the CBEs were being selected automatically in the final merged project. Maybe thats  bug, but it's working now anyway.So, is there a way to share my CBEs between projects. We're a team with access to TFS as source control if that helps. The CBEs are relatively simple, but doing it across 25 or 30 projects per release seems tedious and even more worrying, error prone.Can I easily share these's CBEs among projects? I'm not afraid of writing a little script to insert some XML into a specific project file if that is an option. Hello RH experts,This week, my RoboHelp Responsive HTML5 output no longer shows the navigation panel (TOC) by default when you open a single topic. Instead, it has the word, Show at the top of the page. Previously, the entire help frameset appeared when you opened a single topic, and that's the behavior we want. I have not changed any project settings (that I'm aware of). HOWEVER, I did apply a RoboHelp software update last week....Can someone enlighten me about how to turn Show Navigation off and on for Responsive HTML5 output? We recently upgraded from Robohelp 2015 to Robohelp 2017. We have a large help project that has over 1000 topics and our software applications calls help topics by generating a URL with the Responsive HTML5 Help path and the appropriate Map ID for the topic. The application also adds arguments to the URL to specify the appropriate content filters. All of this was working fine in Robohelp 2015 (except for the defect that Multi-Level lists don't number correctly). After upgrading to Robohelp 2017, calls to open topics do not work the way they should. The framed layout should open and display the correct topic with the correct filters, but instead it only opens the (correct) topic but without the framed layout and without any filtering. To confirm that this is a problem, I copied the exact same project file set to two computers, one with Robohelp 2015 and one with Robohelp 2017. I used the same settings to generate the Responsive HTML5 output on each and then I then used the same URL to c

I Installed RoboHelp 2017. I use it in Trial version.When I want create a new project, I input the project name, and nothing appends after, I still on the first starting Window.(No error message).

Hello helpers.I know that this error is no big deal, and the file does work fine. But it bugs me...I use RH 11. When I compiled, I kept getting the "compilation failed while compiling" a specific URL. I found that the URL was used only in the index, and it turned out that it was a broken link. I found all of the instances and replaced them with a working link, and the failed URL disappeared from the URLs folder. However, the compilation error for it remains.Any thoughts on getting the error to disappear, or find where RH thinks the URL still is? I've searched the index and the bad URL is not linked to anything, nor does it appear in any topic.Thanks!Dimi

Hi Everyone,I'm back with another question. In the Indigo screen layout, is there a way to force the slidout on the homepage (which contains the filters and index entires etc) to slideout from the left? Similarly, is there a way to move the TOC from the right to the left once inside a topic? I couldn't find it within the RoboHelp UI, but presumably it is possible to do by editing the HTML/CSS/JavaScript. I've spent a couple of hours this morning altering classes directly, but without luck. Any help could be much appreciated.

Hello,Online help is rendering different font sizes when viewed in IE/Chrome.  On the left you see Chrome and the fonts look fine. On the right you will notice the first set of  bullets shows a larger font size.  Any idea what could be causing this?Thanks!

Hi All,Is there a way (adding a DIV maybe?) to add some additional information on a frameless HTML responsive layout like Indigo. What I'd like is to add some standard text and maybe embed a video for people when they hit the landing page, instead of having them have to click through to something. I've attached a graphic to show you what I'm thinking. It's a merged project, so the links to the sub-projects are displayed (e.g. eStart, Portals). Ideally I'd keep those intact, but I'd consider replacing those if I could configure the master project to display a topic with the information I wanted in their place. I am completely new to context-sensitive help and this is my first experience with it, but as the only Technical Writer in our company, I am responsible for creating a concept and choosing the right tool for our needs.We are planning on implementing a context-sensitive help for our newest web application, which should suggest multiple helpful topics to the user of our web application directly within our UI (with links to the fully responsive HTML5 output "Help Center" from RoboHelp).It would be similar to what Facebook is doing with their context-sensitive help (where, depending on where on Facebook you are, you get different suggested topics directly in the Facebook UI).Could this somehow be accomplished with the RoboHelp API? Or is it really only possible to call one specific help topic for each context? This would be a huge programming overhead and not really an option for us.What additional deve

I am getting a strange result when I have only one file (two including the TOC file) in a FM book that I am publishing to Responsive HTML5.  I can explain more about why I am putting all "chapters" into one FM file if relevant, but trying to keep explanation simple.When I publish the book with one FM file containing all chapters, the TOC sync in the output does not work.  If I split the chapters into multiple files, even just two (three in all including the FM TOC), then the TOC sync works fine in the output.  I have tried this with the Azure, Indigo and Charcoal_Grey layouts with the same results, fine if two FM files, not working if only one.  I am using FM 2017 as part of the TCS 2017.Is there a reason why this is happening?  I can't think why TOC syncing should not work even if there is just one FM content file.  The resulting output has 4 levels of content in the TOC, and if I click on the TOC, then the correct topic opens in the content area, but if

I would like to substitute our company logo for the default logo.png file in the Charcoal_Gray HTML5 layout. One of the RH experts sent me these instructions and code:"The logo is defined in the SCSS, but you can use your own CSS to get around the limitation. Hello all,How do you open Responsive HTML5 output on Android and iOS? I'm able to generate the output and open it in an Internet browser on a PC, but I can't find the procedure to open it on a mobile device.So far I copied the generated Responsive_HTML5 folder to a mobile device, and tried to open the index.htm file but this results in a blank help.Does anyone know how to solve this?

Hi there.  I'm a tech novice, looking to create a NEW help file for a different software program of ours based on an EXISTING RH7 file we have.  I need to leave the old one as is, as that will continue to evolve and be further edited, need both to run parallel now.  This new one would be based on the existing file, but with new tweaks and features.  Looking for the best way to do this.I found an old post that read this:  'Copy project folder itself, then open and rename it in RH. This should leave the original project and an exact copy with a new name.', and the moderator felt this was the right solution.However, that doesn't leave me comfortable enough with what I need to do.  Can anyone expand a bit more?  Ex; What is that folder I need to copy, where is it?  I expect the folder that has the same name as my project and is in here: C:\Program Files\RoboHelp Office\RoboHTML, but then where should I put it after I copy it, same folder?  I gue

We are using RoboHelp 2015. We need to generate our online help as WebHelp from a command line automatically as part of the product build process. The requirement is to enable automatic generation of the help whenever the software is built. I found the following article with instructions on Peter Grainge's site. I would like to know if this will work as described or if anything in that article has changed or if there are other things I'd need to do to make command-line generation work. I am running Tech Comm Suite 2015 but currently only using RoboHelp, which is why I am posting in this forum. I have a 64-bit OS running Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. I have 138 GB of free space on my hard drive and 8 GB of RAM.When  I am editing the style sheet in Code Editor and have a few topics open so I can see the results of my changes, without warning, RH closes. This has happened repeatedly. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from occurring?

Running Windows environmentI have a user who placed the output/exported files from robohelp to shared mapped folder. The issue is that he would like to protect the folders and allow the users to run the webpage only. I have tried to do some tinkering on the NTFS permission of the folder. But after denying read and execute permission. the html stopped working. Any advise how we can protect the folder without hindering the access of the html webpages.I know normally to solve this problem we can host it in IIS or FTP server. But i would an advise from anyone who has good expertise on this matter. Thank you.
