Good morning all, Is there a way to import an excel document to assign indexes to topics, or do we have to manually go to each topics and assign indexes. We have 8600 topics which could be a lenghty process.Thank you !christele

Hello Robohelp Friends: Our client asked us if there was a way to click away from a "pop up" (small page displaying on a larger page, usually showing a list of values/data" without clicking on the mouse. Apparently, that is a requirement by the ADA (American Disability Association) for screen readers. What I mean here is that when a user sees a pop-up on the screen, they should be able to click delete/back or some other button to shift away from the pop-up back to the main screen. Robohelp is apparently 508/Screen Reader compliant, but does not provide specifics as to how to accomplish this. Any insight to this would be greatly appreciated!

I have resized all of my PDF Page Layout Templates to be 5.5" x 8.5." I have one page that insists on being bigger (I'm guessing 8.5"x11" although I am looking at everything digitally, so not totally sure.)The page is a copyright page contained within the PDF TOC "front matter" section and appearing before the TOC. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it to be the smaller size? I can't figure out which of the PDF template layouts is being used. I have defined:Default page lyoutChapters & TopicsTOCCover Page I have not chosen/defined a page layout for List of Figures, List of Tables, Index or Glossary as my manual has none.I have tried publishing it with and without the Empty Page template defined and it doesn't seem to make any difference. This is what my PDF TOC looks likeI am guessing that the problem is that the "front matter: other page" that I used to get the Copyright page in the front matter is "undefined." But I can't figure out how to define it.  

Hello experts, I upgraded from RH2017 to 2022 recently. I have encontered the condition expression issue.To make it simple, I created the sample project shown below.We have three products which shares one Help project file.Topic for Products A and B is a topic for both product A and B and some description is dedicated for each product.I would like to output the CHM for product A. Then I create the following condition expression named as "ForProductA".However, the output shows the topic for both A and B If you choose conditional tags for Product_A, the output is what I expected.I tried  several expression cases by changing "Or", "AND", "Exclude" and "Include" setting. However, I could not output the CHM for product A.  This condition expression works in RH2017 although the user interface is different. So It should works with somway. Can someone help me for solving this issue? Best regards,Yoichiro Hayashi

Hi there,I am going to move a lot of HTML files created with a different tool to RH 2022.2.22 (I might even be using the newest version, but thats the one that is currently running stable for my current projects).Most of the cleanup can be accomplished using RegEx, but I am wondering if there is some Script already existing to remove all Inline Formatting spans? Or do I have to ask some js developer?What I want to do achieve is to somehow automatize these steps: Open topic, select all, remove inline formatting.The setting in the project options to not allow inline formatting does not seem to have any impact on imported html files.Any ideas welcome!ThanksKarin

I'm trying to set up a footer, which seems pretty simple.  Create a topic layout and add the footer into the footer region of my topic layout and then add that to the topic layout line of the Layout tab in my Frameless preset.  When I do this, the footer doesn't show up where I thought it would.  I guess my question is this correct.  It seems awfully high on the screen.  I think I thought it would show up in the bar going across the bottom rather than above this bar (see yellow horizontal bar across the bottom of my example).  It looks awkward  where it's placed.  What am I missing?  Thank you.  

Hi.  Can anyone tell me what I need to edit in the template (Oceanic) to make the thick horizontal yellow and blue lines at the top of my homepage smaller?  I've clicked on everythuing inthe template editor and I can't seemt o find these "banners", I believe is wha they are called.  See below for areas I'm trying to make smaller height wise.   

I have a frameless output in RoboHelp 2022.4.182 (Mac). When the user searches on either the home page or the topic page, the list of search results includes a page title, page description, and a breadcrumb. Only the page title portion of the result is a clickable URL, although the mouse pointer changes to a hand when mousing over both the page title and the breadcrumb (which would indicate to me that both of these should be clickable). How do I make the breadcrumb be a clickable link? When I inspect in both the Safari and Chrome browser debuggers, it appears that only the page title is a link, but I do not see anywhere in the RoboHelp UI where I could set this. Thank you!

I am able to connect to ADO from RoboHelp 2022. I did an initial clone (when the connection is opened) and the ado repository (that contained only a readme files) was downloaded to my local working directory. I then loaded multiple files into the working directory and attempted a Check In. I had hoped the files would be loaded into the ADO repository. But, the check in box shows no files listed and the check in button is grayed out. Any ideas what the problem is?  Thanks.

Hi, is there any way to auto-generate index entries based on heading level, rather than topic name. Just out of curiousity, are there other people out there who have to continue using RH 2019 since the latest RH doesn't have the Smart Index Wizard or import of the Word doc TOC?

I need some help on my issue. I am working in the New IU 2022  Robohelp, Merge Project, Template is BlueLagoon. My issue is when I click on one of my child projects within the TOC Merge Project and dropdown one of the pages within that child project and it's blue like I clicked on the page. I'v e tried going in BlueLagoon, edit, Home page and Topic Page changed some of the coloring and it's still blue.  I'm not sure if I explained it correctly.

Last week I was working on my project template when my screen locked up for whatever reason.  I couldn't get anything to respond in Robohelp.  I eventually had to power off my computer and when I logged back in, all of my content was still there, but when I generateed and viewed output, all of my changes to the template were gone.  I have a copy of my project, althought a little outdated, it still shows all of the changes that I have made to my template using the template editor.  I have a couple of questions: 1)  Here is what my "zapped template" looks like.  It's empty for the most part and the little "expand" arrows are not showing for Home Page and Topic Page.  Settings that hold all of the different parts and pieces that we can edit.  Here is what it should look like.  If I export the .skz file from the lower picture  and then switch over to my project and choose import, should that bring it back?  I'm doing thi

Yes, I'm back again... this time with a question regarding printing an entire project:On the topic page, there is a row of icons, one of which is for printing; can we use this to print the entire project?With RH2017, we could generate PDF and Word documents for Printed Documentation; is this necessary with 2022? Hello! I’m working in RoboHelp 2022, and am unable to select the necessary folder as the project’s output preset path. Our general project folder contains:The Help_2020 folder, which is our source folder. This is where the output preset path needs to be set. (The project’s RoboHelp file is also located in the Help_2020 folder.)The Help_Output folder, which is the publish location. Using the output preset’s Publish tab, I can set the publish location to Help_Output without issue.However, using the output preset’s General tab, I’m unable to set the output path to Help_2020. It was originally set to that location, but was temporarily changed while fixing another issue. Now, I can set the output path to any folder except for Help_2020. When I try, I’m blocked by an error: “Output path cannot be inside project folder or parent of project folder.” I then activated the “Save output path as relative to project” checkbox, and selected the Help_2020 folder that way. I wanted to reply to the following thread, but replies are locked, so I'm creating a new post for an update on this issue: https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/search-results-not-displaying/m-p/14375553 The same issue came up again, and we tried the following, but none of these worked:1) Re-publish2) Delete the files from the server and re-publish3) Delete the files from the server, delete my local project, re-generate, and re-publish After all of those didn't work, we zipped the files and provided them that way instead. This did fix the problem.  We found that the zipped files had more items in the "whxdata" > "text" folder than the exact same files that were published via the Publish function. So it seems that the Publish function does not send all of the "text" folder's files over, which causes issues with the Search function in the output. Is this something that can be fixed? I am trying to set up a project with two outputs, one to a Microsoft CHM and one to HTML5. I want a different stylesheet used in each case so I have used a conditional tag to link to the css for each output. This works well. The site documents software features and I now want to add a dynamic content filter that will change visibility of the pages according to a condition tag (I have tags for 2024 and 2025 currently).I built a test project with four pages. I applied a 2024 tag to one page, a 2025 tag to another page, and no tag to the others. Dynamic filtering worked well. When I add in the output condition it fails. If I have the output condition and I add the year filtering, it fails. Ii seems you can use the date condition tag OR the output condition tag.  Is there a way to combine them to produce a web outout that has the date filtering capability, and a chm that also allows date filtering?

Dear geniuses of RoboHelp, I do have another challenge for you ! Does anyone know how to make an autoplay video ? I want the video to play automatically when it appears entirely on the page.  The video I use is a .mp4, and my version of Robohelp is 2022.4.179.The video is working correctly when we press the play button. Thanks !  

Hi, I have a project through which I generate Frameless Output. Now, we require PDF output. There is an issue in generating the entire pdf at once. When I select the entire toc to generate pdf, it gets stuck at "Transforming into PDF pages". When I divide the toc into a smaller part, it gets generated. The observation here is that if the toc is around 300-400, then it gets generated, but when it is more, it is not generated. My PC is an i5 with 16GB of RAM, is my PC not able to handle it, or is it RoboHelp? 

Hi allI would like your opinions on the following: Is there now a cost for Java Runtime Environment 8 or later (64-bit)?If there is a cost, and I used OpenJDK 8 or later instead, would that impact the look and layout of my existing PDF output? Thank you.Michelle

Last week, I was working in RH Classic 2019 all morning. I closed it and opened it several times. I then did an update and reboot for my docking station. Big mistake. Now RH opens but won't load any of my projects. It freezes up and stops responding. I've rebooted my computer. I've reinstalled my RH software. I even tried deleting the cpd file. I tried opening one of the RH sample projects and they don't load either. I tried running Updates from RH but all that did was update me to (not classic) RH and asked me for a rhpj file instead of xpj. It won't load a project. I contacted my IT department and they suggested that I reinstall my docking station software & make sure my Windows files were up to date & reboot. I did that. RH still won't load any projects. It opens just fine. It just won't load any projects. Any suggestions?
