Hello,I am writing numbered step procedures. I have created a style called numlist. When I press Enter at the end of the sentence, it correctly assigns the next number in numerical value. Sometimes the next line needs to be a style called SubStep which is a system response or extra information line(s). However, when I apply the SubStep style to the second line it correctly applies the new styles, but keeps the numbering. Is there any way to set up the SubStep style to remove the numbering scheme? Thanks,MDawn
Hello,Is there a way to link my numbered list style to the Numbered List button in the task bar? Or to edit the style that displays? Thanks,MDawn
I'm thinking of creating something like this:Was this page helpful?Yes NoYes button - when user presses this button it should send me an email with the wordings "A user found this page [URL] helpful "No button - when user presses this button it should send me an email with the wordings "A user found this page [URL] unhelpful "I've explored Robohelp Insert > HTML > Form but couldn't get to the end result. Can anyone help?
RH2015 | WebHelpCan anyone help me with setting up RoboServer and contexts? I need to publish online Help for different products using a folder structure like this: <product name>/<doc type>/<region>/<version>. My IT department have installed RoboServer and I can publish projects to it. However, at the moment I can only publish to content areas. What I need is the ability to publish to a specific folder structure. Can I use contexts to do this? Thanks
I just recently updated to Office 2016 and noted that Robohelp 11 no longer creates printed documentation. I get the following error message: A supported version of Microsoft Word does not exist. Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer.I have a Windows 64-bit Operating System.
Hello!I'm working in RH11, and for the past few days, I keep getting issues with either compiling it (fails to compile, has missing images, has missing TOC in the WebHelp) or even updating the files in the project. Can you tell me why the TOC would not appear in the middle pane? It was there yesterday, I compiled the project, and it output a TOC in the WebHelp. Today, when I opened the file, the TOC was missing. I've worked with many versions of RH before, and I've never had this happen to me. Can you tell me what caused this? Thanks!
I've followed this to a T: (Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Merging Help projects). And MapID calls still do not bring up the help screens.I created a small scale example to test:A Child Project with one other topic page and a MapID associated with it.The Master Project only has a reference to the Child Project. My call looks like this:Shell("hh.exe -mapid 99338 C:\RobohelpTest\MasterTest.chm", AppWinStyle.NormalFocus, True)Nothing comes up when I make the call through the master, but it works when I call the child directly. Any thoughts?
I would like to know step by step.I have already tried many times, unsuccessfully. My idea is that end-users can see content according to the options selected by them. I have tried to apply conditional build tags to topics, but it didn't work.I also tried to create expressions to my build tags (for example, show A but don't show B and C) but something got wrong in the process.Maybe to set this feature is harder than I thought. If someone could help me, I appreaciate. Thanks in advance!
I was hunting down an issue that caused the TOC in HTML5 pages to not show by default. I tracked the issue down to tabpanel1.js. I had to remove anything in gTabListIdArr and gTabContentIdArr that ended in numbers to fix the issue (none of the related pieces have numbers, if this isn't true for you be careful). Here's my question: How did those extra list items appear in the first place? I can fix this issue manually, by removing them from tabpanel1.js after it's created, but I'd rather know how it happened so I can stop it from happening again.
I have an RH 2105 WebHelp project that is almost ready for internal review at work. I'm using the skin "BlueGrey" because it's nice and generic.I created a custom Home button and added a Print button and I'd really like to post the project for review, but since RH creates "custom" identities for those items, tooltip popups show only for the "stock" buttons in the toolbar.I'd really like my "custom" Home and Print buttons to have popups that match what the skin "BlueGrey" already uses, but I can't figure out exactly which parts of "whskin_tbars.htm" and "whtbar.js" I'd have to modify to enable that. (Not to mention the related maintenance issues moving forward...)So, since RH doesn't natively include a way to add popups for custom items, I'm kinda stuck and need a little help, if there's any to be lent for this issue.Home button (parent.location.href='index.htm';) and Print button (printTopic()) OnClick actions work as designed, but because JS "window.create" isn't viable anymore, I am
I can't do window-level help due to time limitation. Do I need to assign IDs in this case & how to link all topics?
Hi,What is the "default" TOC font (i.e., the font chosen when you click the Default Font button on the TOC Styles tab under Advanced Settings)?Regards,Greg
I've posted my webhelp from Robohelp9 and, although everything looks good in Robohelp and the .chm there are a lot of bold items that should not be bold. Has anyone had this issue?
With the Adobe RoboHelp (2015 release), are there any changes related to 508 compliance? Or, does this version basically continue to offer just a non-skinned output in WebHelp? Thanks,
When I right-click on the WebHelp layout in the Output section, it doesn't show Settings or Properties option to set. How to set Properties to generate WebHelp and Printed Documentation output.
I'm breaking out a very large project into smaller projects. When I import files that have mapID's assigned they are all gone from the context sensitive help file. We have the clear cpd file enabled would that be causing any issues?
Hello,I'm using RoboHelp 2015. I'm trying to figure out if I can design a help file output with top down navigation instead of tri-pane design. Is this possible? If so, how to I accomplish this? I've looked at the Output (SSL) at Multiple Screen Responsive HTML5 help but that's not specifically what I'm looking for.Any help is appreciated. Thanks,MDawn
Hi,I was wondering, now that I discovered the advantages of Resource Manger, if it would be possible to have 2 shared resources, one local with common topics and pictures for several projects, and another one, remote, containing the whole projects, i.e. topics and pictures, for collaboration purposes. The local one I intend to use it for my purposes to have common items (topics & pictures) updated in all projects where they appear, and the remote one I intend to use it together with my remote colleagues that might want to do changes in the topics. This would mean that the common topics and pictures would be present in both resources, the local one as well as the remote one.Thank you.
Hi,Environment: RH 2015 12.0.2.384, generating merged WebHelp - almost 40 RH projects in total and 7000 topics.Issue: loading the TOC and searching are very slow, and I need to figure out how to optimize them. However, I don't quite understand how they work, so I am hoping that someone on the forums could give me some pointers.Current situation:I've been testing this for a few weeks - some results below.First TOC load:Local machine:IE 11 - 25 secondsChrome - 2 secondsClient-facing site:IE - 20 secondsChrome - 10 secondsFirst search:Local machine:Both IE and Chrome - 2 seconds.Client-facing site:Both IE and Chrome - 25 seconds. In the search settings, I have enabled highlighting, showing context, hiding the rank column and showing the total number of search results. (No substring search.) Enabling the AND option by default didn't seem to change the speed. Because we include a PDF version of each online help module, I also tried to exclude the PDFs from search, but that didn't make a diff
I've compiled the help file as WebHelp format. I figured out how to zip the file. What file do I tell the reviewer to click on the open the file? Thanks,MDawn
I have an image on my c: drive. how do i get it into my project. i have robohelp 2015
I have multiple projects that all compile and deliver webhelp where the TOC and Search work just fine. I had one old project that was a tripane (top header, side contents, right main body) which I basically took all the necessary parts and put them into the right main body part, then used that as my start-up topic.Compiled help works perfectly. The TOC and search appear on the left and work just like my other projects. When I compile webhelp, the output appears normal but the TOC on the left is empty and the search will not display any results (also empty). It looks normal like my other projects, just missing content like it trying to display it in a frame that doesn't exist anymore. Is there a way to see where the TOC and Search output is going? I have clicked on every possible page, option, box in RH. I also tried making new project windows with no change. This is very strange. One extra bit, IE will display the TOC but no search content for t
Hi all, I am using RH7 and would like to insert the date that each topic was last modified into my global template for my project. I have seen that there is a Fields and Variables dialog that seems to do what I want, that is I can insert a Date field and it is automatically updated when the topic is opened. The problem is, I want the field to only update when a topic is saved, and it should not be the same date for every topic (I don't want Topic A's date to be updated when I save Topic B for example). Does anyone know if what I want to achieve is possible? Regards, darkagn
After ~5 years of not working with any HAT, I began a new position on 3/28/2016 and am giving the RH 2015 trial a spin. I'm really excited by what I see and have been able to do thus far.I have 3 “entities” to write about and I have created 3 pages, one page per entity. On each of these overview pages, I have this first sentence: |This section describes how to enter and manage [entity].|I’ve defined each [entity] as a user defined variable. I hard coded each page with this sentence and added a reference to the User Defined Variable and then generated the output. Works awesome. Now, I’m going ‘down’ a level. What I want to figure out is how to make | “This section describes how to enter and manage” |be a snippet. I want it to be a snippet because when I write a better sentence, I don’t have to make the same change on each of these overview pages. Eventually, there will be 19 overview pages.Does anyone else structure their content like this? What I want to avoid is making multiple manual
I recently upgraded from Robohelp 8 to RoboHelp 15. Some of the users trying to view the project in a browser, IE, are seeing the message below with the FlashHelp files from RoboHelp 15. I regenerated the project using Robohelp 8 and they are able to see it with out an issue. Is there a specific setting that needs to be adjust for my project to work using RoboHelp 15? Is there a minimal Flash version requirement for users to see the project?
