Prevent "hot" links to URLs in PDF?

Hi y'all,RoboHelp: 2022.2.22I'm including sample URLs in my documentation that point to the example.com domain. Because these links don't actually work, I don't want them to be "hot" links in the PDF -- I want them treated like plain text. Is there some nifty/simple way to instruct RoboHelp not to make those URLs clickable? I don't want to have to edit them in Acrobat after generation. To be clear, they're typed as plain text in the source and don't have <a> tags, but the PDFs are generated with these URLs as clickable links anyway:<p class="code">https://example.com/AbCdEfG</p>Thanks!

Hiding left panel when using own homepage with Studio frameless skin

Hello! I'm working on adapting the Studio frameless skin to my project's needs, and am using my own custom homepage instead of the skin's. When the skin's homepage, the left and right panels are hidden by default, but when I use my own homepage, they're open by default. The screens that the end users will be using are not big, and the homepage looks very cluttered with the panels open.  Is there a way to change this and only have the panels open after they've clicked over to a topic page?Thanks for any ideas! NOTE: I've been working with the Studio frameless skin specifically, but I think this applies to the other frameless skins as well, except Top Navigation (which doesn't fit my needs).

Robohelp 2022 trial shows false 'expired' message

I installed RH 2022 trial yesterday. The splash / home screen opens up okay, but then I get a message that my trial has expired, and the app closes. It was my first day using the trial so the message is incorrect. Anyone have this issue and know of a fix for it? I started a chat with Adobe and the chat got interupted. I started another chat and then was told I could have the original person call me back. While I wait for the call, seeking advice here.

Is there CLI for XLIFF import / export?

Are there CLI commands for XLIFF importing/exporting? Or do we have to do that manually through the GUI every time we want to import and export XLIFFs?

XLIFF Translations erasing page contents in RoboHelp 2022.2.22

I'm trying translations for the first time.I created a Spanish translation project, and exported a file to XLIFF.Whenever I import that XLIFF back, even if unchanged, it wipes the <body> contents of that page in the translation project.Am I doing anything wrong, or could this be a bug?Using RH 2022.2.22. XLIFF importing didn't even work in 2020 and I upgraded solely for this feature.

Streaming videos from RoboHelp server

We have a lot of help videos to be published and are planning to use Robohelp for the same, but the file size of the videos is large. Does Robohelp Server version 11.2.0 have streaming capability for videos if added in a help page from RoboHelp and published to RoboHelp server? Are there any restrictions on the file format for streaming? Our file format is mp4. Can you please guide on how to achieve streaming help videos? Thank you.

Run javascript when topic loads

I'm having issues when trying to run javascript on topic pages. I have a script that makes videos responsive but the code will only run once on page load. When navigating between topic pages the code does not run since theres no page load between these.I've tried inserting the code in the masterpage but still the code won't execute when clikcing between topics. Any ideas?

Split-View between Author and Source View

Is it possible to have a split-view of the same topic in author and source view. I was able to do this in Flare so when changing source code, you can view the results in the other pane.

When importing Map IDs from Word, RH converts dashes into underscores

Hi,is there a way to avoid this? We import a Word document into RH that contains map IDs (in the form of TopicAlias footnotes). However, RH converts any dash into an underscore, e.g. "this-is-my-help-id" into "this_is_my_help_id".I see no reason for this, is there a way to change this? Manually editing the BSSCDefault.h file does not work. We use RH2019 classic + Word MS 365, output format is Responsive HTML help. Robert

Hi,I'm trying to move my RoboHelp 9 from an old PC to my new PC. I attempt to deactivate it but it fails, with a message "Please connect to the Internet". I am of course connected to the Internet.Thanks! Bob

problems with translate files

Hello, I export the files that I want to translate, a company sent them back to me translated, I change the translated files for the original ones without modifying the mapperFile, I only replace the topics.But the problem is that the project keeps importing for hours and if I look at the translated project only half of it appears.the file I get back is translated. I don't know what to do, I have tried with other languages and the same thing doesn't happen. I have version 2022.1.188 but I have also tried it with version 2 and the same thing happens.

Skin not applied when clicking hyperlinks in Frameless output displayed in iframe

Using RoboHelp 2020.8.34, I have supplied a help project as a Frameless output to software developers who want to insert it into their app inside an iframe. This displays perfectly when navigating through the topics using the table of contents. However, there are numerous hyperlinks to other topics within the text, and when these are clicked, the correct topic is displayed but without the skin being applied (all formatting is lost and the layout (TOC, search bar, etc.) also disappears). According to the developers, something is adding an instruction '?rh_skin=false' to the hyperlink URL.I've tried creating a brand new project and get the same result, and I noticed the same thing in one of the example projects supplied with the software. Can anyone please tell me, is there a fundamental problem with this scenario, or am I missing something?

Can you run Robohelp 2017 and 2022 on the same PC?

Hi, I currently have Robohelp 2017 installed and want to install a trial version of 2022. Is it possible to have both versions on the same PC? i.e. will 2022 install over the top of 2017? Been going round in circles trying to find this info (it seems any path leads to the same info about upgrading projects instead), so any advice much appreciated.

RoboHelp 2020 WebHelp TOC not completely displayed when reducing the window size

When in full screen, here is how the TOC of my RH project is correctly displayed. However, when resizing the window, the TOC is partially displayed. This is an issue for my RH project. How can I solve it?Thanks!

Is it possible to rename the default assets folder in Robohelp 2022.2.22?

Where we are hosting, the assets folder is clashing with other hosted sites with the same folder. I see it is possible to rename the assets folder but when adding a new image, an assets folder is recreated and all new assets are added to this folder instead of the renamed one. Is it possible to change the default location of all assets after renaming?

Bonjour,Je travaille sur la version 2020 de RoboHelp.Je génère une sortie Responsive HTML5 principalement pour des écrans de bureau. Or, sur la restitution internet la largeur utilisée est fixe et n'utilise pas toute la largeur de l'écran.Je veux bien que la largeur soir fixe, mais sur une plus grande largeur, pouvoir utiliser un peu les parties gauche et droite entourées en orange dans la copie d'écran.Quel paramètre dois-je modifier pour définir une plus grande largeur ?J'ai bien coché Intéractif, mais je crois que c'est plutôt pour gérer téléphone et tablette.Il me faudrait définir une "largeur maximale d'écran", mais je ne trouve nulle part de paramètre qui détermine les tailles des écrans.Quelqu'un aurait-il une idée ?Merci

Should I upgrade to RH2022?

I recently tried the 30-day free trial of RoboHelp 2022, but was unable to commit enough time to learn the system, which is so completely, drastically different from any RoboHelp version I've worked with. Can anyone tell me if there is any great advantage to switching, or should I leave well enough alone and stay with 2017?

Issues with html5 generation

I have started a small test project with 1 folder and 2 topics. It's the RH. jpg attachment. When generating I set the Browser Requirements page as the start page.It generates without errors but gives me the generatedHTML.png attachment -- nothing in the left navigation bar and it's as if the secondary page doesn't exist. The only things that occurred correctly is that it opened to the correct page and used the chosen template.

Auto-sizing Popup

Is there a way to get the auto-sizing popups to stay stationary untill the user clicks outside of the pop up.  Right now, when the user clicks anywhere in the pop up it closes (unless it is a dropo down).  There is information that may need to be copied from the pop up and it's tricky when it continuously closes out.

Display in auto-size pop up is not working

I'm working in RH17 and when I hyperlink to another external RH, I have no issue when it is selected to display in frame; however, some topics will not work externally when I publish to display in auto-sizeing popup.  They are set to link to relative paths and sometimes the number of ../ makes a difference and I'll add/remove and it works.  But there a select few that no matter how many I have , it is not working and I'm stumped.  Not a RH expert. This is something new that we have implemented.  Any ideas why it works sometimes and not others.  When I click externally, it just doesn't pop up at all.

Is there a way to switch tile image and title placement in Frameless output?

I am creating a Frameless template (using Oceanic as my starting point) and I was wondering if there is a way to switch the positioning of the TOC tile image and the title? So instead of the image on top and title underneath, switch that so that the title is on top and image is on the bottom. I'm assuming no, but there are a lot of options in the skin editor that I'm unsure of until I generate my output, so may be missing something.

Plus (+) signs next to file icons (not talking about twisties)

In Contents panel, I notice some of my topic icons have little Plus (+) signs. They are not twisties -- what do they mean? Probably Relevant: I am trying to use RH 2022's version control features for the first time.  I have it set up enough that a RH file structure has appeared in my SharePoint site.  But I notice there are no FILES showing up in SharePoint.  And in RH, it's all the FILES that have the plus signs. So I bet I could figure this out if I knew what the plus signs mean...
