When I/we open a document Indesign, it throws up a "missing font notification" for the Roboto TT font (and condensed). Then, when we open creative cloud and click on active fonts, there is a ‘refresh symbol’ but nothing loads/activates. We’ve worked through every soultion we can find, yet the issue remains. It has affected everyone on the studio, so is not machine specific. Please advise, as this will potentially create many hours of work going through templates and documents to resolve this.Thank you in advance,Dan. InCopy doesnt load for my copywriters at all on the web browser - gets stuck at 74% for multiple people. How can I fix this so they can do what they are supposed to do?
Have a short document (<20pp), text only and InCopy either takes 5-10minutes to open (over fast network) or hangs at end of opening document. I have to force quit and re-attempt. Have tried now for 4 times. How is this software tenable?any suggestions?Tried resetting preferences- no luck.
I am working with a freelance graphic designer in another state on a magazine project. She works in InDesign and prepares InCopy .icma files for me, which she shares via Dropbox. I am an editor working in Incopy (on a MacBook Pro, running Sonoma 14.5). I received this error message: "Because this document contains no InCopy stories, Gallery View and Story View are not available." When opening the .icma file, it opens to two blank pages (a spread) and oddly shows the project footer text but nothing else. This file previously opened and worked fine. Other .icma files from the designer continue to work fine. The graphic designer says she can open the problem file without difficulty on her end. What is likely the problem and how can it be easily fixed?
Can I use InCopy in order to give my Client access, in order to edit by himself critical texts and numbers?I'm creating an Annual Report in InDesign, and I need a quick way to have real-time corrections by him in certain fields.
When I open an InDesign document in InCopy, I get a warning that says, “The Document uses fonts that are either currently unavailable on your computer or no longer supported by InDesign. Closing the dialog box will substitute the missing fonts with the default font until the original fonts become available. Adobe fonts couldn’t find any matching fonts.”I go into the “Replace Fonts” and when I try to replace the fonts I have an error box show up that says, “The selected font is applied to hidden conditional text, or applied to text in a locked story, or is part of a composite font. Some instances of the font may not be found, or may not be changed.” In Creative Cloud added fonts, the font that has an error says, “Font Conflict. A font with the same name is already installed...” I’ve tried following the troubleshoot guide, readding, uploading, restarting Creative Clound and signing in and out. I’ve looked for the font in C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\plugins\livety
I’m basically asking why do I (a designer that uses InDesign) have Adobe InCopy if I won’t use it. I use InDesign. The answer I keep getting online is that Adobe InCopy is used so that my editor can edit my InDesign files. But I can’t share my copy of InCopy with my editor, correct? She’ll need to buy her own copy of InCopy. So what’s the point of giving it to me then in Adobe CC? It’s of no use to me, correct? Or am I missing something?
HiWe have an issue with non-matching page numbers in InDesign vs Incopy. Our InDesign file is made of a couple of seperate documents gathered in a Book with automatic page numbering. But this doesn't work when our client opens a single incopy document which is then set to start from page 1 despite the order set in our Book. Is there a workaround to fix this annoying floss?InDesign 2025 / Incopy 2025 shared with our client on a extern server (WebDAV)
InDesign cannot find my Incopy files, but they do exist and their location has not changed. It will not even allow me to relink manually. Not sure what to do and I'm on a deadline for Monday 😞
Quite often crashes when dealing with large amounts of text: copying/pasting/deleting; accepting Tracked Changes; changing paragraph styles, hiding/showing all inline Notes. Anyone experiencing this? Any known or suggested fixes?
how can I convert a pdf documenht into a hyperlink?
How can I download InCopy and InDesign versions 2024? From Creative Cloud, I can only download 2025 and 2026. I absolutely need to install the 2024 version of both.
I do medical journals, loving the idea of being able to send proofs back to editors and authors (many of them) without the impracticality of them needing a CC license to use InCopy. In testing it myself I have some ideas, hopefully they're already being thought about. Please keep it where someone I send a proof do does not need to create an adobe account or download anything to their computer. For customers who aren't tech-savvy, with secure/government emails and computers, etc. this would be a roadblock.Allow comments similar to Acrobat so questions/suggestions can be added without changing anything.Tracking changes, not just overwriting? If an author makes 58 changes in a 30 page document, unless I'm missing something I don't think there's a way for me to see what they did or where, and quickly revert it if I don't approve it. Flying blind if they change anything. There is currently no side scrolling. Opening 2 page spread documents, it defaults to viewing the first page centered
Does anyone know of a script that will allow you to export Incopy stories from an Indesign Book containing multiple INDD files?
When opening a document in In Copy, I end up on the masters page from my designer's In Design document. I do not see the page 8 for example. Also I only have the possibility to view by Galley view, the others are not available. Also, When I double click on the file, it does not open anymore, it only download on my machine. Anyone can help me please?
InCopy Version 20.5 (always using the latest version)MacBook Pro Every time I try to open .indd files with InCopy, InCopy doesn't open. I have to uninstall and re-install InCopy from Creative Cloud, and then it mysteriously works. But when I quit, and later on attempt to open another .indd file with InCopy, it's another round of uninstall and re-install. Is there a better way forward? When I connect to our work server from home, the issue is even worse. InCopy will either not open, or it opens the file and freezes. I'm forced to Force Quit and I cannot work on any InCopy files at all from home. Would love any advice or help, other than uninstall/re-install. Thank you!-F
I'm interested in setting up an InCopy/InDesign workflow. Our company uses Widen/Acquia DAM to store our files. Our first experiments have failed, and I suspect it's because Widen/Acquia doesn't support .idlk files. I'm wondering if there might be an alternative way to set up a check in/check out process using Widen/Acquia. Has anyone here successfully created an InCopy/InDesign workflow with Widen/Acquia? And if so, how? Thanks!
Hello!I'm setting up a synchronized workflow using InDesign and InCopy with my team. Our team works remotely using WorkDrive and OneDrive. In my research, I saw that there's a web version of InCopy, but I haven't been able to access it or even export my work as instructed in Adobe Help. Please help me understand how to make this workflow work under my remote work circumstances.Thank you!
OS: MacID version: 20.5IC version: 20.5Hello, all. For the past three months we've been running the simplified workflow where the designer exports ICMLs to a shared cloud server (we're using Egnyte) and IC users open the INDD to work on.Today for the first time, on a particularly complex file, we're running into what I see from searching the forum has been a bug in at least one previous version of ID — the first time the designer opens the INDD after a series of edits in IC and is prompted to update links, the links to all files updated in that process are missing from the Assignments panel the next time someone opens the file in IC.Thus far, at least, the stories do remain editable even if they can't be seen in the panel — editors can still right-click in the story in the layout and check it out/in, and their changes are subsequently able to be incorporated the next time the designer opens the INDD and updates links.I've also confirmed that if I right-click on Unassigned InCopy Conten
We are a publications office using full Creative Cloud. Up until about six months ago, we had a seamless workflow, using Google Drive: 1. In-house designers create magazine layouts in InDesign and set them up so the writers/editors can "check out" text boxes for editing/updating copy. The designers leave the file alone while editorial works on it.2. Writers/editors open the layout files with InCopy and make edits to the text using the "checkout/check-in" and "save all content" features. Layout changes are given directly to the designer to make in the InDesign file. The editors save and close out of the InCopy file.3. The designer opens the layout file in InDesign and updates all links. The updated file reflects all the content changes. And we go on from there. Now we're encountering problems with the ID and IC files syncing. Sometimes all the content changes appear in the InDesign file seamlessly. But, more often, only some or none of
Hello! I am running into an issue where I am trying to save over and replace an InCopy file with the same name, but every time I do it adds a dash at the end of the name and thus changes the link. I for sure am hitting yes when it asks if i want to replace when I am trying to save over, so I am not sure why it is changing the name and keeping both files.
We have experienced workflow disruptions due to the "Hide Notes" function in InCopy. Is there any way that to disable the "Hide Notes" function entirely? Some teammates are accidentally toggling this feature, causing all notes to disappear without a clear visual indicator of the change. This results in confusion and wasted time as they try to figure out how to restore the notes. Thanks!
