when I create a new project on premiere it doesn't let me insert a type of mp4 video file in the timeline, this doesn't concern all types of mp4 files but some, I don't understand what this factor depends on. I have already tried to update all the drivers on the computer but the problem persists, what should I do?

Hi Saverio,

Thanks for the bug report. Can you check out the solution in this article? Let the community know if it works or not. If that is your issue, sorry about the frustration. Not having the source patching buttons selected properly is common issue. Let us know how it's going.

Thanks,
Kevin

Can you drag it to the new icon to create its own sequence?

A program called MediaInfo is often used to inspect the file to see what type of codec, etc. is in that file.

You can also post a link to one of the problem files so we can take a look.

hello, no I can't drag it.

I downloaded this program but I don't think it's a codec problem as I can normally open these files from the folder

I shared the link to the example of the file that won't let me open.

I want to point out that I don't have these problems on my other PC. I searched for a long time and noticed that by encoding the files in MOV premiere format it can import them

It's HEVC in an .mp4 wrapper. I thought this was now supported; what version of PR are you running? I have no problem on my PC:

I can import it. I can drag it to the new icon to create a new sequence. I can drag it to an existing sequence with different properties.

I'm using the last version relase 24.5.

I'm starting to doubt that the HEVEC app I installed is somehow compromised

I don't have an HEVC app installed.

I'm curious, because if PR imports it, I think it should work.

Anyone?
