Well that seems to work but my problem was with the marquee tool. When I select an area with the marquee tool, pixels outside it are left. I’m accustomed to using that tool for selection and then deletion. Guess I have to try to use the crop tool. Thanks for your help. See my works on paper at andrewogus.com

Suddenly when I select an area for cropping there is image area left on all sides outside the bounding box. I'm using guides to determine the area to crop, selecting the bounding box tool on the menu, then selecting the crop menu . This suddenly started today; no problem yesterday. Is there a preference I accidentally chose?

They are jpegs, created this evening with the other images on the page. I resaved them in Photoshop and updated the links. They still do not print.

I have a page with multiple placed photos (nine or ten) two of which simply will not print. I tried deleting everything else and printing these images only, looked at the layers panel (where they both appear), and saved the page as a PDF. They don't show in the PDF either, so they are simply not registering. Why would this happen? They are there on the screen.

So what was done in one step now has to be done in two. I tried that and the comments no longer appear on the same PDF pages, only in the comments list. Not an improvement.

Import it to where? I can't import it in InDesign or open it to copy the text and put it elsewhere. it used to be easy to copy comment text and place it into InDesign; now it seems difficult or impossible. Another "improvement" on Adobe's part?

I am having a lot of trouble with endnotes. First they didn't show up in the flowed text at all (I had to create a new document, where they mysteriously DID appear, then copy and paste them into the original). At the end of the document they appear as <?> instead of numbers or the number 10 is repeated a few times. I went through and fixed the endnotes by hand. Now however I realize the in text references are all wrong. It looks as if they are in sequence according to endnotes from previous stories in the document, instead of beginning over. They correctly began with "1" in the original Pages document (and correctly showed up there, too). Why would all this happen? It never did before.

Thanks, but I was copying and pasting so the formatting should not have been a problem (I think). I restarted InDesign and discarded my old preferences, and then finding/replacing worked.

I have to replace 100 instances of "tab word space" with "tab" only. Although I've copied and pasted the tab and space by hand and by using the supplied characters (can't remember the name of the box supplied), InDesign can't find them. Oddly enough I can. Why does this happen? I am NOT asking it to find a format (though that didn't work, either.

I am using ID CC 2018 and an Epson XP-640 printer. Today I printed an ID document twice, made some changes, and tried to print again. Now the ID print window shows "Save" where the "Print" button should be. This saves the setting (which is irrelevant, as it's the default). I've restarted ID, replaced the preferences, and restarted the computer. I've also replaced the printer in system preferences. I was able to save the document as a PDF and print it, which indicates there is a sudden ID problem

My InDesign font list shows every font I've ever used in the program, NOT just the fonts in the document at hand, nor is it every font I've ever installed. I'm using InDesign CC 2018 and Suitcase 19.05, with its plugins. So fonts are installed into Suitcase, NOT on the system. While I appreciate having the fonts I need activated, scanning an increasingly lengthy list is annoying to say the least. I've cleared font caches with Suitcase; it doesn't help. Is this an InDesign problem? A supposedly helpful feature?

Unfortunately that does not appear, as I am using Acrobat Reader rather than Pro. Is this a clever ploy on the part of Adobe to force us to purchase Pro?

Where is the select tool in the new so called "improved" version of Acrobat? I used to be able to copy and paste from comments right into my ID document, but that no longer seems possible.

The paragraph styles list "American English." I don't understand WHY the sudden insistent change to "Canadian French" which I certainly never asked for. Thanks for the script, which I'll try.

It is in fact "English USA" throughout, but the dictionary still reverts to French Canadian.
