Hello, I am new to Captivate. I need to commission a freelancer to create an animation for me. It is just an object floating in space that rotates. There is no interactivity - the student has no control over the rotation, the angle of view, etc. What is the best format for animations of this type, given that I want to include them in Captivate slides? The colors of the animated image are very important.

How important is it to have a "scratch disk" for Photoshop? I have the impression that it is only really needed if working on gigantic files. I'm in the process of speccing out a new iMac to replace a late-2015 model. (3.1 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive). I need more RAM for LR and this model is not upgradeable, that is what is motivating the new (reluctant) new purchase; I figure I should try to think ahead as much as possible in hopes of "future proofing" this purchase. FWIW, I often have multiple Adobe CC apps open at once (Bridge, Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator). I think I recall hearing that a scratch disk is beneficial in this situation, as it stops PS and AI from starving the others of RAM. Is that the case? Since I'm planning on getting another iMac, my scratch disk would have to be external. What is a good one, and which type of port do I want to run it off?

I have a book project with 20 chapters, each in a different InDesign document. Each was created using the same template so they have the same dimensions, margins, styles, etc. I now need to experiment with a different sized page and some different styles. What is the easiest way to propogate these changes through all 20 documents?

I have a file where the artboards and paths have been specified in mm. I want them in points. I confirmed that I had points set in my preferences, and opened the file. everything is still showing in mm. So I save it, closed it, and opened it again - no change. How do I get AI to convert o my preference?

This diamond shape has a cross shape knocked out of the interior. How do I remove the knockout, and make just one big uniformly colored simple closed path? Would prefer to not use Live Paint. Ignore the little fragments at the edges of the screenshot.

This is a screenshot of my vector, here is a link to it. Dropbox - Rose.ai The leaf/stem/thorns portion is all one path. I'd like to break it up by making the leaves their own individual paths so that I can introduce another color. Whats the best way to do this?

What settings control the appearance of the preview image of an Illustrator file? I always assumed it was the first artboard. However, look at this screenshot. They are both Illustrator files. The artboard for the file on the left is 4" x 4"; for the file on the right it is 1.7" x 1.7". Since they are being previewed in the opposite ratio in Bridge, there must be some other setting that influences the outcome. Can anyone tell me what it is and where to find it?

Could one of you nice people give me a quick explanation of how the guides work? I have an artboard that needs a grid of guides spaced 14pt apart. I pull down a horizontal guide from the ruler and carefully line it up with the top of the artboard...then find no amount of use of the black arrow tool will allow me to select it again and move it/step and repeat it. So my questions are: 1) what am I doing wrong; and 2) is there actually an easier way to set up a grid of the custom nature.

I have a large folder of images that was produced by combining several different folders. The keywords are a mess. I'd like to tidy it up. 1) There are a lot of duplicates. For example, "Flower" as a major keyword, and also Plants>Flowers. How do I combine these two? 2) There are a LOT of irrelevant keywords that I don't want or need, but which are clutting up the Keywords Panel. How do I eliminate them?

I've lost a .ai file somewhere on my hard drive or iCloud drive. I've tried everything I can think of to find it via its name, or when it was created, which was years ago. Is there a way to search using the contents of the file? I found it embedded as a jpeg in a Word document, so I know some of the words it contains, and roughly what colors it contains.
