Several months ago, Kath started a thread with this title, in which a large number of suggestions were posted. I posted the one reproduced here, with what could have been taken as an excellent adaptation of it: 18.Unfortunately, the change has not been permanent, but intermittent. In other words, some days it is there, some days it isn't (right now, it isn't). When it is, it is a great help if one is looking for an old thread in a long forum, as one doesn't have to move one page at a time, which is specially painful if one opens a wrong thread and has to start all over again from Page 1. I wonder if it would be too difficult to make it permanent.I kept the name of Kath's original topic because I thought that it could be interesting to know how many of the suggestions for small improvements made there have been implemented. And I also thought that the easiest way of finding out would be for each poster to check what happened with his/her idea(s) (some users provided long lists of sugges
I am currently using Photoshop CS2 and PageMaker 7 on a XP machine. I plan on buying a new Windows 7 machine and putting the old machine out of its misery. My plan is to upgrade to the "Creative Suite 4 Design Standard." The question is, will I be able to install the Suite onto the new machine with out first installing the older software? Would really like a clean install of all the new programs and not have any of the old ever set foot on the new system. Any comments on this??
Still getting this sometimes when clicking the time of the last post. I think JC said he thought he knew what the problem might be?
Why can't U delete your own email in thread? New people don't realize that if they respond upon receiving an emailnotification from the forum, that if they respond directly from their email itself, their email will appear in the forum thread. When realizing that they should have responded to the link to the forum thread it is too late. I see no way thento rectify this mistake. I am of the opinion that the person should be able to delete their own email address from theirown response they have made on the thread. After all, it is their email address that is at risk; I'm not asking to delete anyone else's. Thank you for any response
Suddenly, this morning, I am "Unauthorized" to create a New Discussion. Please fix this.
Here is a link on your site: http://www.adobe.com/products/studio/index.html. I post it for two reasons, one being that the link is for a product that Adobe no longer sells. The other reason is that I can't see why Adobe doesn't offer the opportunity to purchase older versions of their software. I have an admittedly older computer (2000 Mac) that continues to serve me well. I would like to be able to buy a newer version of Adobe software than what I have, but because Adobe doesn't offer this option on their site, my only other option is buying used or possibly counterfeit software from Ebay. I have put off buying a newer version of software for the same reason that most people do: I can't afford it. I don't have 2 grand for CS4 and my computer can't run it anyway, but it can run CS2 or possibly CS3. So wouldn't it be better for Adobe to keep offering products for older computers?Laugh if you want about my old machine, but I have used PCs and Macs professionally over the years as a web
First, JayJhabrix got banned from posting...Now it's Jhabrix that's banned... and not a by your leave nor explanation! In neither case was a message sent giving a warning of any kind nor a reason for the inability to post.Someone is getting very personal and, for some reason, 'Jhabrix' seems to be like a red flag to a bull! I wonder how long:1/ This post / thread will last2/ How long it will be before this avatar of Jhabrix is banned!!And, if any moderator chooses to read between the lines, you'll realise this post very much is a comment on the Forums and on this Forum.
Well, about 4:15PM AZT (PDT now), the forum has hit the performance wall.Pages take about 10 mins. to load, and many of the editing features just will not work. Scheduled maintenance?Glad that I got most of my work done earlier.Hunt
What's it based on? As of this morning, I am above someone who has 100 more points than I do.Is it just based on post count or is there some secret Adobe judge, reading everyone's posts?
One would tend to assume that the time shown in these forums (for example, the posting times) refer to the USA, although this could be wrong. However, there are (I think) four different time zones in that country. Maybe for the natives it is quite clear what "8:13 AM" means, but it is not at all clear for at least this one inhabitant of another country. Even acronyms such as EPT (I am not sure if I recall this correctly from the old forums) don't mean much to me.Wouldn't it be a good idea to specify in some clear way what time being used in these forums?
I want to upload a custom Avatar, but when I do It tells me I have to delete some of my other custom Avatars which there aren't any.Any ideas?TIAChris
Hi Folks.Ok so I've done a little research, so far the upgrade sounds like it's getting some positive feedback, with very little problems. The only problems with the Windows 7 upgrade with CS4 are:-CS4 Setup Discs will not launch - but downloaded "trial" setup files from Adobe's website will install no problem-There is an issue with Dreamweaver launching and occasionally eating up memory for a few seconds, then releasing-There is no codec for Photoshop - so .psd icons are not visable-Photoshop launches automatically in 64 bit modeI'm curious if there are any Adobe folks (or community experts) out there who have updates on these issues, and if there are any issues that I've missed?I've purchased the W7 upgrade and will install it in a couple of weeks when it is released - I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to dig myself into a hole by installing the upgrade. I know that Adobe developers can't snap their fingers and make things change overnight, but if anyone who has in

I'm trying to re-encode a video that is 1920x816 2.35:1 and the last program I used cut off after 104 minutesand it is 132 minutes. Trying to encode minute 104-132. It's an 8.5 GB HD file and I don't have any HD presetsover 1080 and I can't edit the frame size under create a new profile, Any suggestions?
Will this software work with Vista? I have an opportunity to get a copy and would love to be able to use it.Bob
Hello!I'm not new in here, but Adobe changes the whole website and navigation from time to time and it's not getting better, unfortunately.Perhaps someone of the admins can clarify this:1) If I go to adobe.com, the page is in english. That's normal. If I log in and my native language is german and Adobe knows that I'm from Germany, then it would actually make sense to switch to german after login. But it does not.2) If I log in and select a different language (german in this case), then the website appears in german. But if I go to the forums, it's english again. This is paradox.3) If I'm logged in to Adobe, then I'm not automatically logged in to the forums. This is paradox too. At least to me.4) If I'm in the forums I need to click "Login/Register" and it asks me for a screen name. I know a lot of english terms, but "screen name" does not makes sense since the rest of the world would call it "nickname". It also does not ask for a password, nor can't I register. I can just set the scr

I just installed Adobe CS4 Design Standard using the dvd marked "application." Am I also supposed to install something from a second dvd marked "content"? When I opened the dvd on my computer, it had a folder with "read me" documents for each program and another marked "goodies." Inside the second is a folder of fonts and one or more other folders but no installation option. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do with this dvd, if anything? Thanks os much!
Is there a way of jumping to the first unread message in a thread?MHP
Adobe has made a big deal of the points, red bars to distinguish user, participant, contributor, and so forth. It seems odd that the system can not keep the tallies correct. A roll over of my name gives me 2 bars, yet the red bars for the contributor is still on 1. Others have a similar pattern. Here is the Photoshop forum:Here is the Bridge forum:
Just wondering how it was decided which icons are featured on the Forums home page?Would it be possible for this to be customized once I log in? I almost always visit only the products in the CS4 Production bundle. Do the forums really get a lot of Connect Pro, LiveCycle, Flex, and ColdFusion traffic???
I have been on hold for more than 3 hours today and still am what does it take to get help from Adobe.I have been an Adobe user for mare than 11 years - this is not acceptable - please advise.Frustrated user
Is it possible for the Adobe Forums to support uploading of 7z and/or XAR compressed attachments? The Attach Files disclaimer says all files are allowed except for ".doc, .bin, .dms, .lha, .lzh, .exe, .class, .so, .dll". So I'm curious what the issue is.
The thread "New to Adobe Flex" which was posted here is now in the Flex forum. Wouldn't it have been less confusing to the OP if it was just left here with a note saying to post in the other forum? Who knows if they'll see their answers now.. if the OP had asked for it to be moved that's fine but is moving a thread and leaving no indication it was here such a good idea?
in the Forum Etiquette thread that brought it to the top, 5 months after it was written? And then, updated since I logged in about 30 minutes ago?
