Acrobat Reader

I online purchased/paid for reader so that I could export PDFs. Downloaded and tried to install. It came into conflict with Cute PDF, which was already on my computer, and said to close Cute PDF. Cute PDF was not open. Would not complete installation because it was "open". Now I cannot open any pdfs with either program. When I try to open document with adobe it says "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If it is running please exit and try again. (1:1)" Tried to reinstall adobe reader but it is installed. Tried to uninstall adobe reader and it says "uninstalled with errors" and appears to still be installed because when I tried to reinstall it said it was already installed. When I try to open document with adobe it says "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If it is running please exit and try again. (1:1) I tried to make it my default application, but it spins forever. Customer support says to try the users. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi,I need to understand something. It looks like Acrobat Reader exists now in 2 distinct versions :- Adobe Reader DC MUI- Adobe Acrobat Reader 2020 MUI What is the difference between both ?Thanks,Vincent

Hi,Now I installed Adobe Acrobat DC for my Windows 10 and tried to listen to the PDF text. It's doesn't work properly. The Acrobat read the text VERY VERY SLOW. Why? What I should do? Thanks for your help in advanceKate

Have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, still won't open, have to use Force Quit each time. Adobe uninstaller has been disabled.I really need to access this program.

I'm having trouble attaching documents in a fill in file.  The instructions say to click the paper clip with the file icon on it, but that icon is dimmed and can't be clicked.  How do I get that icon undimmed so I can attach the documents?

Since this morning, after the latest update, I had the following issues:- the program freezes and suddenly crashes while the dialog box Edit/Preferences is open;- the program does not print anymore (already posted). The new update is creating troubles. I tried to repair the installation from /? menu. Nothing. I opened one instance of Reader and get the two same processes.Process.Start(...) do the same thing and returns window handle which is NULL but second process has correnct HWND Is that should work in that way? 

We have a Windows Server 2019 server running remote desktop for a number of users.  After a clean installation of Adobe Acrobat DC if I modify the installation in Add Remote Programs I can see from the "custom setup" screen that "View Adobe PDF" is installed.  All users can use Adobe to view PDF's without logging in, they simply cancel the login prompt and continue on with their day. At some point during the day users start getting the login prompt when they open Adobe, but when they close or cancel the screen Adobe completely closes.  When I check the "custom setup" screen then I can now see "View Adobe PDF", "Create Adobe PDF", "Acrobat Distiller" and "Languages". I assume that what has happened is that a single user has taken a trial or logged in with an Adobe account.  This has updated the installation to Pro, without ADMIN rights, and now everyone is expected to have an account to use Adobe Reader. I have reinstalled Adobe a few times to clear th

Hi,We are running Remote-Desktop Farm (about 50 users connect into this) on Windows Server 2012 R2. We have installed DC pro as some users require the additional functionality. However, this has set the default for ALL 50 users (they are now all being prompted for sign-in, and 50x creative cloud is now running at startup etc.).Setting under Default programs results in a user-only change, not machine specific. Is there a way to set the free reader as the default on a machine level? (at which point we will advise the pro users to use right click -> open with).Currently I am looking under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.PDF but I do not understand the key enough to see where it's setting a default. (I have also checked in HKEY_Current_user when changing my default programs to see if there was a change in there which I could replicate to current machine, which makes me think the default program is not set here). On my PDF form there is a submit button. when i click the button after filling in the form it should open a new email window using Outlook. In the email settings under preferences outlook is not being detect as the default email app even though it is. The latest Adobe reader is installed, this is on a Windows 11. Please help

I am having probles to install adobe acrobat reader on a iMac with mac OS Catalaina 10.15.3. It downloads ok, begins the installation but when only one minute is left it gives an error indicating that there was an error and it was not posible to finish. Ii was installed before and I uninstalled. Can soby help me?

Hello,I am creating PDFs in a separate program, which uses a DDE command to automatically open the PDF in Adobe Reader once the PDF is created. This command is not successfully opening the PDF, although manually opening the PDF works fine. I know that similar problems occurred for Acrobat/Reader versions 10 and 11. These problems were fixed by changing the "server" for the DDE command from "acroview" to "acroview{A|R}{Major Version}" where A is used for acrobat, R for reader, and "Major Version" is "10" or "11". What is the syntax that should be used for version DC? I have tried "acroviewRDC" and "acroviewRdc" without success.Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

In my application I use Adobe Reader through the COM / ActiveX interface, to display PDF documents within my application. This has been working fine for years. Now that I have updated my application to 64-bit mode, I notice the following problem on some computers: Adobe Reader gets stuck while displaying a message "Initializing" with a blue progress bar. See the screenshot below. It just stops working here.  The funny thing is that this problem occurs only on some computers, not on all. Also when I run my application in 32-bit mode, it works without a problem. I have checked the preferences: "Run in AppContainer" and "Start in protected mode" are both unchecked. I would be really happy if someone knows a solution to this problem. 

Hello, I bought my Acrobat Pro DC 2015 and now I changed my computer with windows 10, but I don`t know how to add the license.

I have Windows 10.  After a recent Windows update, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC will no longer open when I click on the icon, nor open when I right click and run as administrator.  If I click on a PDF file it will not open Reader either.  I removed the Windows 10 update, and took my computer back to a restore point before Adobe Reader stopped working, but it still won't.I tried using a Adobe Reader repair tool, rebooting, reinstalling Adobe Reader;  I tried simply uninstalling Adobe Reader myself and downloading it again and installing it, it still does not work.I checked and Adobe Reader is the default app to open PDF files.Under Windows Services, Adobe Acrobat Update Service is Running and set to Automatic.  So are Adobe Genuine Monitor Service and Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Service. There is also an Adobe LM Service listed as Manual Startup type.Frustrated, I loaded a program called PDF Viewer Plus, and that works to open the PDF's.  So I know they are

In MacUpdate Desktop, Adobe Acrobat Reader… states, Requires OS X 10.13. (I use OS X 10.13.6, with a FAST Solid State Drive.) But when _I_ try to open AcroRdrDC_2101120039_MUI.pkg I see, this: The current operating system is not supported. So i have been trying to convert some pdf sheets to excel but seem to be having an issue, i can convert three of them but the last sheet will not convert properly I just get a blank page with some empty boxes.this is what Im trying to convert and this what i get  any ideas greatly received Thank you

I recently made a decision to buy a 2TB Samsung T7 in order to get actual long-term storage. I attempted to do so with two 1TB USB drives that I got over the course of 2 years before they each reached a certain limit, like 7-10% of their memory space, where I started experiencing some kind of error message, like a multi-volume error set message, a message that tells me that I can't open any new PDFs that I download, or some error message relating to corrupted files. Needless to say, I eventually found out that my problems were most likely because I was attempting to use a USB for long-term storage in both cases, and ones that weren't exactly from reputable brands either, when I should've been going for an SSD all along, since that type of hardware is far more suited for long-term storage.Regardless, I now have a 2TB Samsung SSD but I'm wondering if I should migrate my files from one of my USBs to my SSD. I'm trying to see if I can move my files to a hardware more suited for long-term s

I have been trying to download Acrobat Reader 9 without having a serial number.  I have an old computer from 2001 and I am using XP still, can't afford a new computer.  I don't want to use a third party, I want it from Adobe!  Can anyone help?Thank you,Eddy
