I have some serious issues trying to manage the queue in Media Encoder (v26.3.1). I loaded 250-odd items into the ME queue. After a couple has processed, I changed my mind and stopped processing the queue (red Stop Queue button). I then closed ME down for the day.Next day, I restarted ME and I found that the Queue pane was empty with the status saying 2 of 252 items processed, a bad sign IMHO. The Start Queue and Stop Queue buttons were greyed out. I dropped another file into the Queue pane and Start Queue turned green. I clicked Start Queue to start the conversion. ME then started processing the original queue contents from the previous night. Not what I wanted and a bit unexpected. It seems I need to clear out the old queue. There must be a way to do this but I can't find it. I can't select the files and remove them individually as the old queue members are not visible since I restarted ME.So, two questions:1) How do I clear the ME queue?2) How do I redisplay the queue members after
Not sure how to resolve this, but ME takes up gobs of memory during the encoding process no matter what I seem to do to alleviate it in Premiere. You can see screenshots below (but total memory was up to 98.63 GB when it finished). In general, I've been trying to export a 1-hour long video. Originally shot on iPhone (.mov) and encoding to MP4. My system would either crash after an hour or so of encoding. I think converted the MOVs to MP4s and tried that approach before encoding, but same issue. I had to cut the video to 30 minutes just to get an export to work. There has to be a way to improve the memory usage on my system for this task.I'm running an M2 Mac, 24 GB, Ventura (can't upgrade just yet). I had all applications closed and only using ME. I was also using Hardware encoding (Metal). I tried Software encoding but it crashed on that as well (and 10 times longer to encode). I even tried medium bitrate but didn't make much difference. It seems like ME is super inefficient with
I am migrating to a newer version of Adobe Media Encoder on my MAC (14.9 Build 48 to 24.6.1). I want to backup /migrate ALL Settings, Presets, workspaces, keyboard shortcuts, plugins, templates, scripts etc. I found a few steps from a google search but want to check with an expert to make sure I am not missing any other files/folders that I should migrate over. Also, since I am migrating from an old version to new version ensure that I am copying over only the files needed to ensure a smooth transition to newer version. Thank you in advance! Here’s the steps I found:1. ~/Documents/Adobe/Adobe Media Encoder/[Old_Version]/This is the single most critical folder for Media Encoder. This directory holds your actual, custom-created Encoding and Ingest Presets (like custom YouTube, ProRes, or client-specific export configurations). [1, 2]What to copy: Look for a folder simply named Presets. Inside, you will see a collection of .epr files. Note: If you have ever used Adobe's Cloud Sync featur
I have tried a dozen different ideas from the forums and can't find a solution.Windows 10, i7-7600 cpu @ 2.80GHz8gb ramAME CC 2017 (version 11.1.2.35 of AME)Created a video in Premiere and AME just stops and hangs when it reaches a certain part of the video. Premiere won't export it either. I have created dozens of videos so I have no idea what's different this time. The video is about 10 minutes of 4k drone footage with a music back - super simple.I have reset Premiere (shift-alt on startup) and deleted all the cache files. I rendered the clip where encoder hangs and then added it back, then I deleted the clip entirely, then I deleted the clip and the music track and no matter - it stops in the same place every time (about 14% done with Premiere, and about 14 minutes in on what AME estimates is a 2 hour job).I read a few places that people had a "bad clip" in their video, and once they removed it it worked - how on earth am I supposed to find the one "bad" clip if premiere previews fi
I am unable to successfully render from Premiere to AME, timeline is very basic with one gaussian blur and lower third mogrts. It says failed, or it just stops and restarts rendering. This is one error I snapshotted.Since it shows GPU error, I cleared all premiere cache with no open file and restarting the program (full cache clear) and I exported using CUDA with fail, and OpenGL with fail.I then uninstalled Nvidia app completely, reinstalled and installed a fresh studio driver, rebooted, no luck.I also couldn’t collect and render on a backup machine because it said it couldn’t find a file that was online, located and working. The only way I managed to render was a direct export from Premiere SPECSIntel Core Ultra 9 275HXNVIDIA GeForce RTX 508064GB DDR5 RAM2TB M2 SSD [OS, ADOBE, PPRO PROJECT FILE, AE FULL PROJECT]2TB M2 SSD [PPRO FOOTAGE, CACHE]All latest Adobe 2026/Win11Home/and Nvidia Studio DriverAlienware AW2725DM 27"DELL SE2419HR 24" I also have 100s of these in the log:Have it Fixe
Hello,I am seeing what looks like a reproducible issue with H.264 Blu-ray export in Adobe Media Encoder on Apple Silicon Macs.I tested this on the following machines, and all of them showed the same problem:Mac mini (M4 Pro) Mac mini (M4) MacBook Air (M4)OS:macOS SequoiaAME versions tested:AME 2024 AME 2026Using the factory H.264 Blu-ray preset, Media Encoder creates an .m4v file that is not playable even in VLC. Because it already fails there, this seems to be a problem with the exported file itself, not just a Blu-ray authoring issue.I have not tested older Mac generations yet, but I can confirm that the same version of AME on Windows exports correctly. My current workaround is to export a high-bitrate AVC file on Mac, move it to Windows, and re-encode it there before authoring. That works, but it is not practical for long-form projects.I also checked one of the exported files with ffprobe, and it was detected as raw h264 with Duration: N/A and inconsistent timing information, which m
I'm trying to convert ProRes 4444 with alpha to a HEVC H265 with Alpha. I'm on an M1 Mac Studio (running Ventura 13.2.1). I've seen people say "hardware encoding" needs to be selected in Media Encoder (23.2.1), but it is not selectable. I've tried this conversion using Premiere and in also Mac finder using "Encode Selected Files"; everything seems to work correctly, but when I test the finished HEVC in AE or Pr, they never have alpha channels. Just black where there should be transparency. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
just 1 hour video just one hour. please help its too slow
Exporting a 10 minute, most R3D footage with AE comps and third party fx. The plugins used is digital anarchy flicker free and deep glow—never have issues with either. Renders usually take about 25-30 min. Today on the latest build, it took 5 hours and then once I came back, it had restarted the render and made a duplicate.Since downgrading to 26, it seems more stable except render times are still 2-3 hours. I have a project. In Premiere I can render it for 20 minutes, but in Encoder, it’s 60 minutes. Why?Why would anyone deliberately slow down my work? I notice this sometimes in different projects and different software versions. I thought the rendering time would be the same or even faster than in Premiere
I’m having a very frustrating issue where every time I open a project, the progress panel in Adobe Premiere Pro starts “relinking media” and “generating audio” and “preparing audio” which takes many hours to complete and severely slows down my editing process.I’m currently using version 26.0.2 and working on a large project with a lot of footage. I’m working from a 14TB external USB-C drive. I’ve already cleared the cache that was linked to the external drive and reassigned it to my computer’s internal drive.I need help solving this problem. Thank you.
Hello! I’m making a bunch of proxies in media encoder, and I’m doing by selecting the original media in the Media Encoder media browser, importing it to the queue, and it’s set to my preferred preset already. I’m going to hot swap these proxies with some previous incorrectly made proxies, so I want their output names to be the same as the original media plus the suffix “_Proxy” Looking in Media Encoder and online, I have not been able to find a way to make the output name for all those videos the same. They automatically generate as “Original Media Name_1” and set to save by the original media. I change each clip manually to have “_Proxy” instead of “_1” and set it to the right place to save. Is there anyway to include that output suffix and save location with the preset? Or am I stuck doing it one by one?
Hi everyone,I’m facing a major issue with rendering performance that started about 1–2 months ago. I’ve been working for the same company for several years with a consistent workflow and project complexity, but lately, rendering has become a nightmare.Projects that used to take under 10 minutes to export now take 40+ minutes. The performance seems inconsistent and unpredictable, even though the source files and effects remain the same as before. I am NOT using any third-party plugins.Troubleshooting steps I’ve already taken:1. Performed a clean reinstall of the Adobe ecosystem using the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.2. Tried rolling back to previous versions of Premiere Pro/Media Encoder.3. Did a clean GPU driver install using DDU in Safe Mode.4. Tested multiple driver versions, including the latest Adrenalin 26.3.1 and an older stable version from September 2025.None of these steps resolved the issue. It feels like hardware acceleration is either failing or not being utilized prop
When I send any file to the queue from Pr or AE after I specifically told the programme the file needs to be replaced, Media Encoder does not respect that decision and adds "_1" behind the chosen file name for a newly created video file. How can I tell Media Encoder to stop doing this?
HIhaving a major issue with media encoder. Title says it all. i go to encode a simple video just a single clip and at random intervals it actually shuts my ENTIRE computer off. this only started happening when i updated media encoder. before i updated, i had no problems whatsoever. system info:Current Windows 10 software16 gb ramNvidia GEforce gtx 760 (current as well)(Note i have solid works cadcam software with 3D modeling and pulling up massive sub assemblies with hundreds of parts and assemblies the computer doesnt even blink at it. no problems there. makes me think issue is entirely with media encoder)(note videos i am trying to edit with premier pro are just usually one video clip with titles at beginning and end from adobe. i only add maybe a cross dissolve in and thats it. videos are shot with a nikon D7000 camera. using same process i have done so for a few years now with media encoder and premiere pro with no problems till now. also again encoding crashes at random intervals.
At my work I am downloading and encoding A LOT of commercial every day. My question is, can I create a preset that will start at a dedicated in-point in order to cut off the slate or black video at the beginning of the commercial and create an out-point to encode either a 30, 15 or 10 second video file?

I'm having a problem with video, exported as MP4 - the colors appear to be washed out. However, when using After Effects for exporting, the colors appear correct (black as #0C0C0C, which is close enough to the real color, which is #0D0D0D)I have read other posts in this community and tried exporting software- and hardware, configuring LUT etc. but no cigar. Initially, I thought it was the player, since the same video appeared different in QuickTime player and VLC, but as mentioned, it can be solved by exporting from AE.When exporting as .MOV from AME, it's almost spot-on.However, I would very much like to continue using AME, since it contains a lot of functionality that I take advantage of and gives me a boost in production. Any ideas?
i wanna set-up a streaming website like Netflix and i just wanna find out if Adobe Media Encoder can help me accomplish the task.
i cancelled my free trial before one day it ends but still changed why

Hope someone can give some incite. We are looking to possibly use Adobe Media Encoder to create encodes from videos to use with our Blu ray authoring software. However I can’t find out the definitve answer as to whether media encoder creates encodes that are compliant for REPLICATION (not duplication) – as in projects which are sent to be pressed from a glass master for commercial release. Has anyone successfully passed a project crerated using Media Encoder encodes to a replicator like Sony or Vantiva or the like and had i pass any tests they do and been replicated. Thanks
I am experiencing an ongoing issue when exporting videos from After Effects and uploading them to TikTok, and I would appreciate your assistance. I am using Adobe Media Encoder to export my videos with the following settings: Format: H.264 Profile: High Level: 4.2 Bitrate: VBR, 2 Pass Target: 8–12 Mbps After exporting, the video appears in very high quality when first uploaded to TikTok. However, after several hours, the video quality drops significantly, as if the video is being heavily recompressed. My questions are: Are there any Adobe-recommended export settings specifically optimized for TikTok to minimize quality loss after upload? Is there any technical reason related to exporting from After Effects or Adobe Media Encoder that could cause this noticeable drop in quality over time? I would appreciate your guidance on the best possible export settings from After Effects to achieve stable and high-quality results on TikTok.
I have a couple of clips on my AE timeline. My project settings is 4K, but I’m rendering at 1080p. These clips in question turn very pixelized on the final encoding at exactly 1920x1080, but for some reason the quality is ok when I tweak it to some weird resolution like 1926x1082. Other 1080p presets also same issue, it just bugs out at exactly 1920x1080. It’s not even gradual degradation in quality, it’s like a toggle between these 2 image qualities.Continuous Rasterization as precomp doesnt work. I’ve taken it out of precomp onto the final timeline. Initially these are desktop screenshots, PNG. I tried video capture via OBS, but there is still pixelization at 1920x1080. I’m using AME Version 26.0 Build 60. Thoughts?Resolution output as 1926x1082.Pixelization at 1920x1080.
