After Effects

Brand new laptop, erazer beast 16 x1 ultimate with ultra i9 processor and RTX 5080 GPU - solid piece of kit with great spec but AE just won't cooperate. I've uninstalled and reinstalled AE several times, I've tried BETA version also. I've disabled hardware acceleration, cleared cache over and over. Checked Audio settings, updated drivers GPU, tried game and studio. I've reset my laptop thats 2 days old back to factory 3 times. Stupid AE just won't act normally for more than 5 minutes, I can still click around and switch between assets but the preview panel just stays the same, stuck on whatever last frame it was on before freezing up. It's been 2 days of total wasted work time and I am at my wits end. EVERY OTHER PROGRAM WORKS FINE! PLEASE HELP 

I have been having a problem running Blender and Adobe apps in the same laptop. Adobe software will only works when I use the microsoft adapter player, while Blender only want the NVIDIA one. I can keep alternating between them, but my After Effect started lagging when I tried to use them with the microsoft adapter. I want to change it into NVIDIA but the black screen preview happened instead. Is there anyone with the same issue?My driver is already updated to the latest one, I cannot keep alternating between both driver because it also messed up with my other video editing program. Please help me. Only the audio started playing while the video wont.

Hello,I'm currently using version 25.1.0. But recently, I've been occasionally seeing the "Crash Repair Options" alert when restarting After Effects. I’ve also tried updating my graphics card, but it didn’t resolve the issue. When I click "Continue," I can use the program without any issues, and all settings remain unchanged.If there’s no definitive fix for the alert, would it be all right to just click “Continue” each time it appears and keep working?

Hello everyone! I just downloaded a phone comp (screenshot attached) from adobestock thinking the luma matte would have been included (no such luck).. Does anyone know how to create a luma matte from an .mov? I obviously want the phone to be on another background. Part two of this... how am I to have any screen animation track the phone? I guess I figured this would have been a layerd .AE file I could have edited in AE... Any help is very much apperciated. 

With the new "smooth" magnification introduced it completely breaks when switching to the layer window, and the roto brush tool is either just selected and or the roto brush effect is applied.Also, magnification is not smooth on WindowsSteps to reproduce:Select roto brush => click on footage to go into the layer => scroll with mouse.And it's even worse when you start drawing on the layer to roto.. Magnification is completely glitchy / jittery / stutterySwitching from Smooth to legacy kinda makes things better, but magnification takes a whole second to update..

Do any of you know how to fix this. I've been editing with this method for years and this is the second time I've faced this issue. I was using 2025 version fine and as soon as I update, I can't import XMLs anymore.

So I just built a new PC, here are the specs:RTX 5090 32GBintel ultra core 9 Asus proart z890 MBrunning windows 11192 GB RAM4 separate 1TB internal Samsung 990 pro SSDs (totalling 4TB, all formatted NTFS)AE pugetbench checks with scores above 16000 when everything is run from C:drive, ran read/write speed checks on drives, all fine, cooling and cinebench all fine.I downloaded dropbox to my secondary internal drive(Y: drive) and run into a problem when I open a file and try to save/render/import footage files from dropbox, it freezes the ram preview (still image, solid green bar, no refresh) after seeming ok for a couple minutes after those actions take place. After the preview freezes, a couple minutes later the whole program locks up and sometimes won't even allow a force quit. Adobe After Effects 25.2 will pop up an error message when starting, Windows 11 system. After the error message is turned off directly, it does not affect the loading and use of the software. I disabled all the plug-ins and plug-ins, and the problem still exists, and the error message will also appear when starting in safe mode, excluding the problem of plug-in incompatibility. The old version of the software can work normally.It should be noted that there will be no error when starting from Adobe Creative Cloud, but if it is started from a shortcut, or even running AfterFX.exe directly from the software installation directory, an error will still appear. The dll file mentioned in the error message exists. The error message is as follows: After clicking the OK button, the software will continue to load until the loading is complete. Can someone tell me why is this app so crazy slow? I cant even play one simple 4k video smoothly in timeline. FX3 or Mavic 3 footage. Even when I play it in quarter resolution...Everything is set right, new drivers. It is totally unusable! GeForce RTX™ 3080Intel core i9-13900FNVMe disc96 GB RAM 

So im trying to create 3D shape layers using advanced 3D. But everytime I switch from classic 3D to advanced 3D my shape layer becomes invisible. But when I switch back to Classic 3D or Cinema 4D it becomes visible again. I've been trying to look for solutions but cant find one. How can I fix this advanced 3D issue?

I can't open After Effects anymore. Hello everyone, I have never been able to open After Effects on my Mac because there is a problem with the CEP suite. I have tried everything but nothing works.If you know what to do please ! I've found a bug in the expressions which breaks some functionnalities in Duik (so it's a big problem and I can't find any workaround)The value of `layer.outPoint` is not updated when the layer is a precomp which has been trimmed 1. Create a long comp "A", let's say 10s2. Add it into another comp, "B"3. Add an expression to any property using the layer "A" outPoint, just throw the value or display it on a text layer for example. I used this in the sourceText property: var l = thisComp.layer("A"); "Layer outPoint: " + l.outPoint;4. Trim or change the duration of precomp "A"The value of the outPoint should change, but it does not5. I've looked for possible ways to download the 2021 version but I can't, could someone help me?

For some reason after effects is causing a few of my clips to  become corrupted despite the original source being fine (image attached). This issue then carries on through to the render and i have no idea why. Can anyone help, many thanks.

Hello everyone,When I am trying to open After Effects I get this screen. All Options are Greyed out. I spoke with Adobe Customer support and the told me that is Microsoft Issue because the program Opens correctly when I use another account. Anynone that has the same issue?

How bad is this software ?RTX 5090, Ryzen 9950x, 128g of RAM and your software goes to flame when showing a waveform.Mp3 or aiff, doesn't matter. 15 years I'm in motion design and it still happening.Is there a way to fix it or do we have to wait for your team to finally splash the cash on developers and remade this software from scratch ?
