After Effects

Hi, I've been using After Effects for years then suddenly last night my transform controls have dissapeared. I can't find anyway of gettin them back, they are there when I open old projects but gone again when I start a new one. The pic below shows you what I get, the tranform options but no yellow writting to the right to change the values. I've just re-downloaded a trial and this is doing the same thing. Has anyone got the answer?

Hello Community, After Effects is yet again getting stuck on the Launch/Splash Screen after ''Initializing MediaCore". I'm running AE 2025, but this exact bug has happened with previous versions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AEI have reset prefsstarted in safe modedisabled pluginsI do NOT have norton or any other antivirus installed.It is not a firewall issue.It is not a connection issue. I have gig speed internet I have updated nvidia drivers and I have also tried rolling back nvidia driversI have rolled back to a different version of AE. Nothing works!!! There is no crash log because i have to force quit the app. The only thing that does work is to reformat the machine but that is not a viable option and i am not doing that again.  @Adobe we pay too much money for a creative cloud licesnse for this to keep happening, this is unacceptable! Hi everyone,I'm working on an animation where a line follows a circle using Trim Paths in After Effects. The idea is to have the Trim Path "Start" property follow a Trace Path effect's "Progress" value, but with a 15-frame delay.What I Have Done:I successfully linked the Trim Path "Start" to the Trace Path "Progress" using expressions: thisComp.layer("Trace Shape Layer 1: Path 1 [1.1]").effect("Trace Path")("Progress") However, I need a 15-frame delay before the Trim Path "Start" starts following the progress. That means when the circle moves for 15 frames, only then should the Start animation begin from 0.Issue:When I try using .valueAtTime() to introduce the delay, I get an error:"Couldn't turn result into numeric value."Question:How can I modify my expression to correctly introduce a 15-frame delay while ensuring "Start" follows the "Progress" animation smoothly?Is there a better approach to achieving this effect?Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hello, Is there anybody that know how to extract text from an After effects project so that it can be translated. I know there are some paid scripts for this. But I kinda expected this to be a standard option within AE. Please let me know if somebody has a solution for this.  Kind regards, Haorld

As the title states, I cannot get the eyedropper tool to pull the correct color from the Color Theme window. I assumed this was an issue with color space or color management, but I can't seem to figure out how. I am not using any color management (even though I tried several to see if this would correct it), isolated down to just using one monitor, changed from 8 to 16 and 32 bit color depth, changed the hardware acceleration to all available options and I cannot seem to fix it. I am on an iMac retina 5k, 27 inch 20174.2 Ghz Intel Core i732 GB 2400 DDR4Radeon Pro 580After Effects CC is up to date, version 16.0.1 (Build 48)I have done all I know to do, including clearing the cache and clearing settings. No matter what I do, the eyedropper tool will not work with the color theme window, and always pulls a different color, usually a darker, muted version of the color I wanted. I've made a script that uses folder.selectDialog() to bring up a folder location save window. It works perfect in OSX, but in Windows it brings up a "classic" windows dialog box instead of of the more robust "Explorer" style window.  I've tried a few other methods but no success.  Any verified way to bring up an Explorer style window with an After Effects script  (without going too complex).  thanks.

Hey everyone,What’s the optimal drive setup for running After Effects as smoothly as possible?I’d love to hear best practices from those working in post-production powerhouses.My current setup (maxed-out MacBook Pro):Media & Disk Cache: External SSDAssets & Project Files: Same external SSDI focused on fast transfer speeds but didn’t think much beyond that. Is this the best setup, or should project files, assets, and cache be on separate drives?For those of you working in high-end post-production (editors, VFX artists, 3D artists, animators),what’s the most efficient way to structure drive usage for smooth AE performance?Would appreciate any insights.

After these images AE Crashes! Any help!?I've tried reinstalling Cinema 4D and that didnt work so I went back to an old restore point but that didn't work either. I reckon it might be something to do with the Files? Also i Checked in the Addons Folder using Adobe App and that didn't work either.  Any help is highly appreciated!   

I've tried to open AE multiple times but I keep getting this error message saying that my GPU is not Genuine Intel. I could still open AE in the last two weeks but yesterday this happened. Please help me because I don't want to restart my whole device just for this...  My After Effect version is 24.6.4.Things I've done but the error message still appears:- uninstalled and re-installed various versions- tried to run as administraror- restarted my laptop multiple times- tried to open through Adobe CCLast but not least, my laptop got the Trojan:Win32 virus inside but I've activated Malwarebytes and everything's settled down already. So I get crazy pixel crash/lagging in a few frames in the whole project. Why does it do this? Ive tried everything but it doesnt work.   Title edited be Mod.

Not playing work progress using space bar in after effect its jjust stuck and automatically closing

I'm trying to create a mogrt (1st time). It's just simple text with a few formatting controls and "in" and "out" animations. I know I've seen the info I'm looking for somewhere but I can't find it. I'm trying to educate myself on it but I don't know the right terms to search for. I'm happy with everything in my mogrt, EXCEPT: when I bring it into Premiere, I can't change the time duration of it to make it longer. Shorter, yes of course, by simply trimming the mogrt clip in the timeline back. HOWEVER, this just gets rid of the "out" animation I have at the end of the mogrt. How can I create a text mogrt with "in" and "out" animations that can be extended or shortened to whatever time duration I like in the Pr timeline, AND automatically moves the "out" animation to the end of the graphic, no matter how long or short it is? Currently the comp in Ae that I'm creating the mogrt in is 6 seconds long. I'm sure there are multiple tutorials out there for this already. I've seen

Is it possible to rotoscope some text that has 3D tracker effect applied to it?If not what is the best way to mask this text to give it the illusion that it is going through the door. 

I have a precomp of Fractal Noises that move from left to right across the screen using the Offset Turbulence setting while also evolving. I found the Evolution Cycle setting and figured that out, but with the Offset Turbulence active, it, of course, jumps back to its original position near the left side of the comp when the playback repeats. Is there a way to loop this seamlessly in the effect's settings, or will I have to manage that with duplicating/trimming the layers in the work area?

Hello guys, I've been looking for answers all over the internet but I think maybe my idea is not possible in AE. So basically, the animation I want to do is the text will start with a wider width like the screenshot below And then animate to this shorter width version I did the source text animation but it wasn't smooth enough.  Hope you can help me with this. Thank you!

I have some text using the 3D tracker effect and an emboss effect. The text layer underneath is acting as a drop shadow. The dropshadow is showing through though, I've checked the layer above and there is no opacity turned down so am unsure what is causing this.

I have a Windows 10 system with 128gb of RAM and dual nvidia Titan RTX video cards connected via NVLink. Each card has 24gb of VRAM. First, when starting the most current release of After Effects, I received this notification.  Similar notifications have happened before, so I updated my display drivers to the latest nvidia Studio Driver and restarted. I did not receive the notification, but when attempting to create a composition from a video clip, I received this notification as After Effects crashed.I checked the Discussion forums and did not identify a solution for this, so I posted there. I then uninstalled After Effects and reinstalled. No change. Attempted to create a composition from a video clip, instant crash. I uninstalled After Effects, reinstalled the nvidia Studio Driver, reinstalled After Effects and removed all plugins (of which none were loaded). Same result, different number.I uninstalled After Effects. I removed all After Effects folders

Hello,As you can see in the picture bellow there are little squares on the side of the bounding box and not on the top and the bottom. I want to adjust the height of all these keyframes together and i cant. Does someone know why?
