After Effects

Hi, I'm trying to turn vanish someone into thin air using a green screen suit but they keying is tricky? as get an outline, any suggestions on how to remove the outline from the key and shadows on the green suit?  

Running AE on a brand new MacBook Pro M2 Max with 64gb of RAM and I cannot render my comps without the computer crashing with a out of memory warning. This happens during renders but it has also happened while working on a timeline. Tech support opened AE with a terminal console and I was able to see this message repeated constantly:  <prefetch> <5> RequestPrefetchedFrame frame not in async list! As this message keeps popping and popping in the console, memory usage keeps increasing without getting cleared. It happens while looking at a frame and not touching anything (while AE pre-renders frames, and it gets worse when rendering up to the point where RAM usage gets at 250% and computer crashes. My comps are 4K, using Trapcode Particular and Trapcode Form. Had two sessions with tech support where they tried every trick in the book to no avail. For the moment, my only solution is to render very short parts and stay in front the whole time t

I can make a path that is open, and then close it. but there is no way, to go the other way.  the menu item "Mask and Shape Path : Closed" is always grayed out. splines, rotosplines, masks generated from pimitives (circles, squares, etc...,) masks generated from the menu, masks that are drawn open, and then closed. all types of paths... not going to bother testing shape paths, somene else can do that.  MacMac os 13.0 (22A380)After effects 23.1.0 steps to reproduce:make a cicle mask, right click on that mask, try to select "Mask and Shape Path : Closed"  

Hi, I am experimenting pointOnpath. I animated some stuffs using this expression. but somthing happens when it is applied on 'triangle' shape. I activate 'orient along path'. but smhow it stops working at trim path 'end' point and flips back. both in 'round' head and 'traingle' head the anchor points are set in the 'middle'. I need guidance.  😥 😭  

 CC glass bases height on luminance values. Brighter pixels represent higher points, while darker pixels represent lower points. However, I'm curious if you have a text layer and put a cc glass effect on it and the bump map is set to the text layer with a blue fill color, how is it basing off the height?  

Hello, I am having an error in AE when trying to render out a project. It is not to long, maybe a 10 sec clip. But might be a bit heavy on effects. I will attach a file at the bottom of this post, that shows the message. I am using a Mac book pro with 16gigs of ram, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7,AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GBIntel Iris Pro 1536 MB. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem?

That´s pretty much it, all updates installed and app just closes, no pop up from windows or adobe, it just disappears. Working on a project it´s being a serious challenge, any click seems to be a potential trigger for this situation (drag and drop, adding effects, etc.). Has anyone encounter such a situation? is there something i´m not seeing?I´ve been working with AE for almost 5 years and nothing like this had ever happen before.Hope someone out there can help me out!PD: i´m currently using a dell inspiron 15 7000, i7, 16gb ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Hello, I'm trying to stream my screen to my friends on Discord, but whenever I start to play the video (press spacebar), it zooms into the playback screen and won't show my timeline or effects. when i was learning about Text Document object in scripting, I found that there is an attribute called autoHyphenate in the object, when i read the info about this attribute it tells me this.When I tried to search for this option in after effects' text layer's option, I couldn't find any thing.also when I wrote this attribute for a text Layer, I didn't see any diffirence (even when the text is a box text !)Is there something that i don't understand ?Thank you for reading !

Hi, I am learning expressions. I know I can use text layer as a editor to experiment any expression because it take all four types of values in Ae (number,string,boolean,array).  I am following one tutorial. But these guys are not using text layer to experiment expressions/or apply control! 😮 what kinda layer is this? 😮 plz help. :'(  

SO I have a video that is 2 minutes and 24 secodns long yet it will only go to 3 seconds I am new to after eefects and trying to learn.

Hello Guys,I hope you're doing well, I want to create the text animation shown in the video attached, Where a text source has multiple lines to fit in rounded rectangles and then blend them with a simple choker effect. I did the text to fit in the rectangle but could not figure out how to do the line jump. If you have an idea of how to do the whole thing with expressions, that would be amazing.Thank you so much!

Ok so i have been having a problem that has been ruining my life for the past while. When im un adobe after effect, when i start the preview, it waits for 10 seconds and then starts. It might be something related to Audio hardware but i have no idea. I also have a high end pc which is why im so frustrated at this problem. Can anyone give me a fix because i have been looking online and can't find a thing.

Greetings, so I was using PowerToy of Microsoft, HID Macros of 2015, and none is really making me continue work, as you can See, I set certain keys.Like FULL, has a key, and when pressed shift plus that key FULL will do a Half Resolution, and supposedly when pressed CTRL plus the FULL it makes quarter resolution. But it keeps opening Project Panel despite having different keys.In my Blend Modes, I set shortcut key per Three to Four, so I can just toggle Previous and Next to go to other mode, but it will be nice to Toggle between three or four, so one key can do it.I know some coding, but I'm having problem understanding how can I make a script to enable toggling, so one key can do certain shortcuts.I am newbie and wanting to work as a freelancer as I'm understanding these things. I made these keyboards: Actually four of them, two for after effects, and two keyboards for photoshop. Hello, I have created a composition, where inside I have a 3d image and a text. To this composition I have added a layer style with a stroke but both elements do not have the same thickness. Why is this happening? 

I want lots of the same shape to appear but with a different country's flag in each one. Is there so expression magic that can randomize the flag image that fills each shape?

Hi,Since 2 days ago, when I launch After Effects (23.0), I immediately get the following error message: "After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking plug-in "AEDynamicLinkServer"." This error is also occuring since the same time as the one in After Effects, and I'm mentioning it here because I think it might help resolving the problem(s):When I try to open Premiere Pro (23.0), I simply get the error message stating:"Sorry, an error occured"What i've tried to doAccording to what After Effects is telling me, this problem is related to a plug in called 'AEDynamicLinkServer'.  Even when doing a deep system scan, I can't find any plugin file called 'AEDynamicLinkServer'.Rebooting my systemRe-installing both AE & PP None of the above helped me to trace down the problem so I hope to get lucky here. Software & System info:Adobe After Effects 23.0 and Premiere Pro 23.0 on an Intel Macbook Pro running MacOS Ventura 13.0

I don't know why this is happening, it started a few days ago, I normally have my disk cache size around 400GB and I have everything set up because I primarily work with large 3D renders and custom animations. Everything is set up specifically for these types of comps but whenever I close AE and reopen everything is back to default. It also keeps showing me the tutorial pop ups as if I've only just downloaded it for the first time. Anyone know a fix?

I was working on my project on version 24.5 and I needed to create a 3D object. I decided to switch to Advanced 3D and After Effects, after thinking for a long time, told me "Before you exit the program you have one last chance to save your project". I didn't understand and saved it as a copy and AE crashed. Later I tried to re-enter the project - same thing. I went to the copy - same thing. Reinstalled After Effects - same thing. I tried installing previous versions, eventually I was able to do something, but at some point After Effects started giving me a lot of errors, finally telling me to save the project before exiting and crashing.Tried to contact support - nothing so far. Can anyone help with this? I can of course start again, but I'd like to get back to that stage of the project.My system: RTX 4070 Ti, Threadripper 3960X, 64gb RAM. After Effects is on a SATA ssd (500gb, fully cleaned)

Hello,Simply by clicking on the 'Designer' button crashes AE. Ive just updated everything and even tried in AEbeta, same problem. I'mn running an iMac Pro 10 core, 64gb, Vega 56. All softward is the latest version.Need help urgentlyThanks!!

Hi all,I'm running After Effects 23.3 on macOS Ventura. I've been working on a project for a few days, but now I am completely unable to open it. Whenever I try, After Effects crashes immediately with a pop-up:  Initially I though that the file was corrupted but it opens just fine on my colleague's computer (also After Effects 23.3, macOS Ventura). What I tried so far:importing the project to a new project in After Effectsuninstalling and re-installing AEinstalling older versions of AEmaking a copy & renaming the filedeleting all 3rd party plugins from the AE foldertrying to open the file with caps lock on I would be grateful for any help from you!
