After Effects

I've been up all night trying to render a 3:30 animation. Had to render in 15/20sec increments and then stitch together in Premiere Pro because it kept causing the "force quit" dialogue to pop—which has never happened before, usually you have to initiate a "force quit"—saying there is no more memory left, shown to be using 663.35GB, which is more than I have.  This is the first project I've done since updating to Tahoe. Mac specs: M2 Max, 96GB RAM. Using AE latest version 25.5, even uninstalled and installed the last 25.4 to see it that would fix it.  Also, while animating, the preview was so slow I couldn't get the timing down. I don't do a ton of animation projects but have been using AE since 2015 and have never had an issue while working, sometimes it would slow a bit while rendering, but this is ridiculously slow. So slow I was just scrubbing to see if it was about right. Even using the lowest quality preview. Then rendering a 3:30 project was going to take 3.5

In previous versions of After Effects, when using the Rotate Tool (W), holding Shift would constrain rotation in fixed increments (by default, 45°). In the latest versions, this “angle snap” behavior seems to have been removed, and holding Shift no longer locks rotation to specific angles.This feature was extremely useful for precise alignment and fast workflow. Could you confirm if this change was intentional? If so, is there any way to re-enable it, or could it be added back in future updates? Also, is there any keyboard shortcut or alternative method that replicates the old behavior?

I am working on a client project for a UAE based company called wheelsonrent.ae. . The video needs to explain their business in a clean and modern way, and part of the requirement is to export certain animated sequences from After Effects into Lottie JSON format for integration inside their mobile app. The issue I am facing is that when I use Bodymovin to export, some pre‑comps with track mattes and nested shape layers render incorrectly. The alpha channels are not preserved and the animation either disappears or shows solid blocks instead of the intended transparency. I have tried different render settings, flattening layers, and even converting shapes to paths, but the problem still occurs. This is very technical and I could not find any working solution on YouTube or other tutorials. Has anyone experienced this specific issue with track mattes and nested pre‑comps not exporting properly to Lottie, and is there a reliable workaround?

Básicamente me pasa con un cliente para quien edito videos.Al principio el archivo va bien y se ve perfecto pero según pasa el tiempo y voy editando no se porque el video empieza a traerme fallos y a romperse lo cual es rarisimo. No se como solucionar este problema.  El video crudo se ve perfecto no tiene esos destellos de luz.  Tampoco tengo alguna capa superior que moleste o provoque ese tipo de flash raro. 

I have been in contact with Adobe support as I somehow lost my version of After Effects CC2019 during a operating system upgade and Adobe recommended I ask the community if anyone has the installer for After Effects 2019 that I could download. Any help would be much appreciated.Thank youDavid

Hi, i experienced this bug in AE 25.5 and new beta 26.Windows AMD machine with nVidia GPU.I have composition, and it look like it is empty, but it is not.There are plenty of layers which are invisible in timeline, but in viewer those have proper behavior, so if I put this composition to another, I can use it, but I can not make any change (because there are no layers visible)It looks like after shy applied, but shy switch is of and layers did not have it enabled.I experienced this in AE 25.5 where disapeared one layer between bunch of others (the layer numbers was 89. 90, 91, 93, 94  - layer 92 just missing. But their content in viewer was visible..And now in Beta 26.0 there are missing all layers which was imported from another project. It affects just one precomp. The behavior is the same like I described. No layers visible in timeline, but their content is visible in viewer and all comps where this precomp is visible..viz attached screenshot. And! Okay, so I have a huge problem that I've been trying to fix for days, whenever I click on anything inside of my project the whole screen just flickers and when I use effects, it flickers, basically just when I do anything, it flickers like crazy, even when I'm previewing. After opening windows, they always position themselves in the middle of the application on the main monitor (I work on two monitors).The attached video shows exactly what is going on. It does not only concern the color palette. It is a general problem.

When i move text layers from Premiere Pro to After Effects. And unprecompose all the text layers using the motion tool plugin. after the text is unprecomp, when I hit enter to make 2 lines of the text layers, 2nd layer is not showing.  Could you guys help, please? 

I am trying to motion track a beverage can in a 6 second stock video and I intend to put my 2D label on it, I have tried Mocha AE, geotracker but I have failed.I am getting frustrated in Mocha because I set the spline nicely, manually set the planar surface, export the data, apply it to the intended 2D graphic and for a start the graphic is far off from where it should be (I did make the graphic the same size of the comp before applying mocha data), even if I fiddle around with corner pin position, the outcome is so shaky, I have watched so many tutorials, please help

1. After Effects Version 25.0 2. Windows 11, version 24H2 3. Audio error such as jumps, muted, and glitch. Played the original audio file in the explorer and it's all good but in the AE the audio experiencing errors both on the previews and rendered. Hi,I have a new problem. I'm using Adobe dynamic link in Premiere quite often, and it almost always works just fine. Today, I used it just as always, and suddenly, the imported footage into AE got really overexposed. I tried to import the same footage directly to AE (without Premiere), and I had the same problem. It is not possible to work with it. Even when I tried to dial it down with Lumetri color, it didn't work. Those whites behave like they are just blown out. But they are not as you can see at screenshots. It is footage from A7IV in Slog3 (it does the same with LUTs on it).

I feel the Adobe Effects tool is bugged when positioning the text on the blue background to run in the composition.

In After Effects Beta 26 on Windows 11, when I use a protected region marker and scroll the timeline, the left side takes the color of the first protected region marker. It disappears weirdly when I hover my mouse.The behavior starts when I scroll the timeline to the right, where the layers or timeline go behind the left panel or layer properties panel. At that moment, the panel takes the first marker/protected region label color, and hovering my mouse over it makes the color vanish at that spot.I can also draw on it in circles to try to remove it faster, but it behaves inconsistently. 

Hi! I have this error come up when using AE 25.5. It's been days and I've been through the basics of troubleshooting to no avail. When I go open up the software, the splash screen doesnt pop up. Instead a series of pop up messages come up. When following the prompts of these pop ups all windows close and the application doesnt open. I'm not trying to open a file.
