After Effects

Cant seem to get the audio to go past the blue line? How can I resize the boundaries, without resizing or messing with the audio spectrum circle?

I've created a perfect cube using 6 3D solid layers in After Effects. Everything looks fine when using the 'Cinema 4D' and 'Advanced 3D' renderers, but when I switch to the 'Classic 3D' renderer, I start seeing artifacts around the edges of the cube. (See attached images: first two are fine, last one shows the artifacts).Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any tips on how to fix the artifacts in 'Classic 3D'? Thanks in advance.

 When I bought a CC off youtube, i tried to drag it into my adjustment layer and it says this. Can anyone help ?

The Burst Pop effect isn't animating for me and it's driving me crazy. I know I can recreate the effect by hand, but it would save me a bunch of time if I could just use the effect. When I drop the effect into an empty composition, keyframes appear under the new shape layer and the "Burst Animate" values change when I move the playhead over them, but the actual shape stays the same. I'm stuck with a static burst. In addition, when I make adjustments to the value or add keyframes to the "Burst Animate" effect control, nothing happens.All other effect controls (that don't affect the animation) seem to be working as intended, except for "Burst Stroke Width" randomly, which also does nothing.I went into all of the expressions under the different effect controls and noticed a couple errors. Specifically, error icons appear next to "Burst Stroke", "Trim Burst" start & end, and "Transform: Shape Pop Burst" - however I'm not familiar enough with expressions to understand what the prob

I'm working on rotoscoping a 6-second 1080p video. To optimize performance and avoid triggering propagation at the start of the clip when making adjustments, I’ve been splitting the video into 37-frame sections.However, I’m running into a couple of issues with this workflow: 1. Roto Brush Misalignment Between Sections: Since each section has its own Roto Brush calculation, the brushes don’t align seamlessly between sections, causing a noticeable jump when playing through the clip 2. Propagation Issues in Split Sections: After rotobrushing the first section and splitting the video (Shift + Ctrl + D), the last frame’s Roto Brush from the first section appears in the second section. However, propagation still starts from frame 0 in the new section. If I delete the strokes in the second section to stop propagation, it also removes the necessary Roto Brush data, making it impossible to align the two sections properly. Has anyone encountered this problem, and if so, do you kno

After applying the effect to a text layer and removing the animation slider keyframes, the blinking effect stops disappears. The workaround would be to leave a single keyframe at 100. Reason I want to remove the keyframes is to add an opacity fade on as opposed to typed on and keeping the blinking cursor. Is this a glitch or intended?

I have a general question about optimizing expressions using posterizeTime(0) & valueAtTime(0). While I use valueAtTime(0) often, I recently learned about the posterizeTime(0) update in AFX 16.0 (https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/legacy-and-extend-script-engine.html#freezing-property-values). At first glance, posterizeTime(0) seems like it could be a game-changer for speeding up complex expressions that only need to be computed once in the comp / project. I'd love to hear from others about their experience using posterizeTime(0) and how it has / hasn't helped improve workflow. Also, how does using valueAtTime(0) with posterizeTime(0) work together?For example:Comp_1 has a complex expression that uses posterizeTime(0)Comp_2 references the Comp_1 expressionIn Comp_2, will using valueAtTime(0) when referencing the Comp_1 expression help / hurt / make no difference for performance?Thanks all.

I can't seem to find this answer anywhere so it may not be possible but I'm wondering if you can change the ruler measurement setting to percentage in After Effects? I'm not talking about the timeline ruler, which is what comes up the most on a search.

Por algum motivo, o after effects após a última atualização não aceita mais/não reproduz nenhum tipo de animação de arquivos GLB já animados, na versão anterior isso continua funcionando normalmente, mas hoje, após atualizar, o after simplesmente se nega a abrir a janela de opções de animações de qualquer arquivo glb animado.Eu testei não só com um arquivo, mas com 49 arquivos glb, apenas para ter certeza que isso é de fato um problema do software e não dos arquivos utilizados, em contra partida, desatualizei o software para a versão anterior e as animações podem ser selecionadas tranquilamente... Eu não sei se isso é um problema apenas meu, mas preciso que isso seja solucionado o quanto antes, é impossível fazer trabalhos com glb animados SE não é possível justamente selecionar a opção de ANIMAÇÃO glb... Aguardo ansiosamente uma solução para este problema que sinceramente parece algo ridiculamente simples de se resolver.

On After Effects, I've been working on a project created with .mxf video files. This was on a Macbook Pro. I recently switched to a Windows machine, when I open the converted project on After Effects, I get an error mesage saying the file is unsupported. Any help on this? How do I convert the .mxf video file to something AE will read? I need a solution that doesn't require restarting the entire project.

Hey all, so I teach an AE class and i'm finding that when I use a light with a 3d object I'm getting tons of harsh banding. When I open the same file on a Mac banding is fairly minimal. Any idea why? PC is a big heafty workstation, lots of GPU mem, and processing etc. Mac pro's at school are a few years old. I've tried uping render quality, made color space 32 still no change. Also this is fairley recent, haven't run into this issue in the past. 

Hello,I noticed that my after effect 24.5.0 crashed 3 times in front of my eyes. I have this error message: Even when I'm in no-fail mode, the application stops and asks me to switch to nominal mode. This is very annoying... I've also noticed that when I leave the general settings window, I get this message: Could someone please help me find the reason for these crashes?Looking forward to hearing from you!

This has been hit and miss. I am now consistenly getting a dynamic link server connection trying to use Track camera in After Effects.64GB RANWindows 7 proffesional i7 processorNVIDIA GEFORCE TITAN I have enabled all the recommended programs through my firewall. I see the dynamiclink server is running in my task manager, I have closed all other programs, no antivirus, I have restarted my computer, no luck with this.Also to add additional information: It seems that when I try to do replace with After Effects composition in Premiere Pro I am getting error: The importer reported a generic error and also when I first launch After effects I am getting a failure to load a few plugins from CineForm including importer

I am a user of the last 2024 version of After Effects, However, I need the 2023 version to test files and compatibility between both. That said, I installed the 2023 version (23.0), but when I launch it, it barrages me with a list of all the standard plugins AE can't see/find.It is the first time in all years I faced something like this, the most important, everything missing by the pointed location is there (Screenshots are attached).List of things that were tried but didn't work:- Reinstalling AE- Trying different versions (23.0 / 23.1 / 23.2 same issue)- Clearing all residuals from Adobe > AE 2023 folder didn't work either

Just installed AE 2025 on 2 computers and both cannot render to a network share. They can render to local drive. AE 2024 does not have this problem

Hello,We're trying to make After Effect detect the config.ocio file associated with a given project by setting the OCIO environment variable. We can't make it work however.We are using  version 24.0.3 on Windows 10 Enterprise and we've tried setting OCIO both in the user and in the machine scope (cf. screenshot below). Can After Effects detect the config.ocio file via the OCIO environment variable?If yes, do you have any clue about what we are doing wrong?Thanks for your help,Rodrigo

   Hi everyone,I’m working on a personal project and importing my Illustrator file to AE.As you can see, I am trying to merge all the groups from group 1 to group 13 using the MERGE PATH tool in the content add property However, after I added the merge path, all my shapes blended into one block of shape instead of the original design. I’m not sure if this has to do with the order of the group or something else. Appreciate anybody’s help on this in advance!

Hi!I'm very new to trapcode particular, so this might be an easy fix, or impossible! I'm trying to animate some light streaks in a wavy shape. I want the ends of the wave to be thicker, and the middle to taper down, as if it's a light trail that rotates. The problem that I keep having is that whenever I either change the size of the particle (streaklet), or if I use a custom made sprite shape and rotate it, the lines become choppy. I've increased the particles/sec, and it was smooth before I tampered with the size or rotation. I've chosen a point light as emitter type. Is there any way to fix this? Getting desperate, and I would be eternally grateful for any help! 

Tody, out of nothing, AE showed 3 kinds kinds of errors. layer doen not have a source (26 :: 335)unknown exeption on frame 0 on Warp stabalizer (1) (25 :: 16)Ae warning: Get Dimensions: Layer Source is Null forcing dimensions to 1,1 (26::0) I can't open the project anymore.. I can import it, and i see allthe stuff inside but when i click on a picture file it shows a black image and when i load a project it gets one of the messages. I think it has something to do with broken paths, but i can't reconnect the files as wel. And i can't safe it t a new place or collect files to a new place.... It's probably somthing in the metadata... Anyone??
