After Effects

How do I turn off this yellow pop-up window in the graph editor? It interferes with the view and it is dynamic, sometimes it is very large and covers important points.

Any and every file I import from Cinema 4D into After Effects has the sequence much shorter than the file in Cinema 4D. But it is always 3 seconds long. I have adjusted the length in Cinema 4D. I have also clean installed after effects and all. I am on a mac with the newest version of the OS and the Cloud.

Hi, i have a problem with my timelapse. I applied Motion Tile effect and tried to make a rotation transition, but when i rotate the 100% scaled video, the black borders (edges) appear... I scaled out to make it obvious for you. How to get a rid of these black borders? The same problem appears when i apply RepeTile effect. Also with motion blur, it is still the same. Hey there,i have a problem importing shapes from illustrator to AE via overlord... I only got a path made and no rectangle parameters as roundness, etc...Is there a way to fix this around? Does an update from after effects 2022 buggy-messy? or... Am i doing something wrong ? Thank you... this has a lot to do with my workflow.Thank you!

I tried to do it, but I stopped at the point where I could only make the particles repeat the letters statically, and then I realized that everything would be much more difficult than I thought, so help me do it because I really want to repeat what the Google motion designers did.

Hello, I've been editing with AE for a while but can't, for the life of me, parse out the crash reports. I go to export a video I've been working on and it'll make it a few hours through before crashing at a certain part (again, knowing which part is has trouble on would be awesome, if I could understand the crash report). I was wondering if someone more experienced than I could help? I'd like to understand where I'm going wrong and what I can do to fix things. Here are my computer stats (feel free to roast how antiquated my PC is by now). I've been able to scrape by before...AMD Ryzen 5 3600B450-A PRO MAX32 gb RAMPS: Before anyone asks "why" I use 24.6.4, the reason is because I personally enjoy it. So I'm working with a project that has an audio file (.wav) that I'm using as the base (the effects are timed up with the audio) but I was having trouble playing the audio. I opened it up in Audition (default program for .wav files) and it played back just fine, so then I closed Audition and went back to AE and it played just fine like how I expected it to when I preview my comp. Then, after it reloads itself, it stops playing the audio again. I've restarted my computer (running Windows 11, AE v25.5) and it doesn't seem to fix it. Am I doing something wrong? 

Hi The Range selectors have an Amount and a Mode (blend Mode) property. The Expression Selector does not.I have an expression that is already working, but I want to add blend modes to it, so it can blend with previous selectors, just like two range selectors can. I have made a very to the bone example, so I can focus on the blend mode funtionality only. I have this expression:var thisSelectorValue = 100; // (-100..100) var amount = 50; // (0..100), like Range Selector's Amount var thisMultiplier = amount/100*thisSelectorValue/100; selectorValue*thisMultiplier;The above makes sense. It multiplies the previous selection value for every character with .5. So if they where 100 % selected from the previous selector, they are now 50 % selected. This behavior will be the same as the "Intersect" blend mode.I'm struggling making an "Add" blend mode. If I multiply the selectorValue with something it works, but if I use addition or subtraction it doesn't. This will do nothing:var thisS

Hallo zusammen, ich verzweifle gerade an folgendem Szenarium und stehe unter Zeitdruck.Video (Kameraflug) von Google Earth Studio soll mit einem animierten Pfad versehen werden. Ich erstelle in AE das Kamera-Tracking, lasse mir anhand der Tracking-Punkte eine Farbfläche generieren, daraus erstelle ich eine Unterkomp. und passe diese auf Videogröße an. Füge dann meinen in Illustartor erstellten Pfad ein und sehe, dass es viel zu groß ist. Alle Bemühungen es passend zu skalieren und drehen scheitern. Was mache ich falsch? Ich habe auch eine jsx Datei aus Google Earth Studio erhalten, aber mit der ist es genau so schwierig. Die Komp. mit dem Pfad ist verdreht und irgendwo im Raum. Alles drehen und positionieren brachte bisher nichts. Das kann doch nicht so schwer sein, wo ist der Haken?Bin dankbar für jeden Tipp.LGLjubomir 

Hello forum.I was wondering if multiple mask paths can be merged into one single masked path. In my screen shot, I imported a PNG fileand I chose to auto trace it, so it made all these masked paths. (Considering I want to put some sort of FX going through that mask).So I tried to precompose the layer to see if that would work, but it didn't. I also tried track matte to see if it would work, in case the FX would see the precomposed layer as one mask. So is there a way AE can make all these paths into one mask?PS: I know I can drag and drop the FX onto my PNG file and it works fine, but this is mainly for educational purposes I'm inquiring.Thank you.

Hi all, I currently have a base M1 Max 32GB and have found it decent for AE, but looking to upgrade. I work almost entirely in AE and Prem, but my absolute main concernis timeline playback in AE. Exportrender times I'm not overally fussed about. I'm trying to keep costs down andfeel that more RAM is always beneficial for AE so.... Do I go M4 Max 64+GB, orsay M1/2 Ultra, again with 64+GB? I do almost exclusively 2D Motion design. I guess I'm looking toget the point of diminishing returns on spec. Sometimes you get to a point andany money spent on anything extra is all for very minor gains. The biggest leapper buck I suppose is what I'm wondering. I'll go second hand in any case Iguess, with the biggest noticeable jump in previews for AE. All advice taken on board!

Hey everyone, would anyone know a way to make a rotating 3D Logo (shape/outlines, not text) in cylindrical form? Each way I try, I seem to get errors whether I start with the CC cylinder effect first, and then try to get it 3D by turing on the tool in the layer switches, or vice versa. 

Hello, I have this simple expression of a countdown, but when i try to render my comp, it's not assuming my slider control or my expression, i don't know what to do.Have anyone encountered this kind of bug? 

 These two error messages repeatly pop up back to back, once they have popped up they will repeatedly reopen and I cannot worken on my after effects file. I have deleted all temp files, cleared cache in after effects > setting > media & cache disk.  I have also move all my large complete files to my hadrive. Not finding many helpful resources from this link ( https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/memory-allocation-of-3-gb-exceeds-internal-limits-error-fixes-don-t-work-for-me/td-p/14274651 ) which I am being refered to most often.I am using a macbook Pro and have the Angela Duik pluggin. Please help.

EDIT: Temporary fix was to disable Multi-frame rendering. Still need to resolve fully so I can enable it.EDIT 2: Still crashes anywayI've experienced errors over my 20 years in AE but this is new... I have after effects 2020 with trapcode particular, I set my emitter type, to "layer"and then I have linked the "layer emitter" to my layer/logo.I expect my logo to emit particles but, its like the particles are notrecognizing or linking to my logo. The particles do not respect the "shape" of my logo.It seems like such an easy step and process when I watch tutorials,yet my logo is not connecting properly with the particular and emitting particles from my logo shape.Is this a AFX 2020 problem with trapcode? It doesnt seem like it, everything else works fine.I also start up after effects with "run as integrated driver" option, which i also dont believewould be affecting this.  Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?I just want to get my logo to emit particles with particular.THANKYOU  : )

This problem has appeared for some of the time. It causes several things I can't do in my After Effect, but I really have no idea how I can fix it. Problem 1: wait a long time to open the AE, it hangs on the initializing media core and takes about 10-15 mins to get through. Problem 2: can't import the mov files, and if I import the mov to the AE project, this pop up comes                "After Effects error: file 'file name.mov' cannot be imported - this 'MooV file is damaged or unsupported.'"Problem 3: can't output the comp as mov. and this pop up warming comes                "After Effects: One of the output modules could not be imported. Hello community. I'm seeing a heap of tutorials on YT, lots of instructors are using the trim path to make a loading bar animation, using the Dash to give it a more appealing visual. One thing I notice is, that the animating bar line, doesn't reveal one bar at a time, rather than each time the bar line animates, there's partially a bit of it revealed, then half of it, then the whole bar, until it goes to its next bar line.  I'm also posting my tedious task, Ive also seek advice from Chat GTP. Make as many bars I need, put them on separate layers, then animate the opacity of the bar 0-100, the keyframes very closely to each other. then spread out the layers on the timeline to achieve one bar reveal at a time, yes it does work, but imagine If I have 100 of them.... So What would be a more swift method, an expression maybe?Thank you. below is some example of what tutorials are showing, which seems incorrect.

Hello all. I've been running into an issue where when I left click on anything (property, layer, effect, etc.) the left click seems to get stuck in the click state, therefore dragging whatever I grabbed indefinitely. The only way to release it is if I left click on a separate Ae panel (i.e. from Composition to Project panel). Super frustrating and slowing down my workflow. It happens in all projects, but only happens in Ae. No other software is effected. So far I've tried: resetting all preferences (including going back to the default preferences, multiple times)restarting the machine (both a general restart and a complete shutdown)starting Ae in safe modemigrating previous verions preferencesusing different mice Any thoughts? And of course I have multiple plugins from reputable developers, and not anything that stands out as super recent that may be causing this issue. I'm going to go through those next. I'm currently running:Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 on an M1 Max MacBook ProA

Hi All, This is the first time for me with After Effects I was wondering on how to do holographic effects step by step from an image. I have seen quite a number of YouTube videos for the same and some of them are not clear. Is there a clear set of instructions that I can follow ? Or do I need to learn the whole After Effects course before I do this ?
