After Effects

Hello, I have a question. Could someone please explain to me how I can create that small glow effect in After Effects? I’ve searched for tutorials but haven’t been able to find anything. If someone can help me, I’d really appreciate it.Below I’m leaving images of how I want the effect to look.I want the object to look normal at first, then glow, and then stop glowing smoothly, just like it looks in the images. 

have a triangle that is attached to a controller. I need the reference point of the Turbulent displace effect parameter 'turbulence displacement' to be attached to the height point of the triangle's base only on the Y axis. I just started learning After Effects, but I can't download the training media files in the Adobe Video Training. How can i overcome this? 

Every time I try to import a file from adobe animate in to After effects 2024-2025 it remains stuck at 0 then displays the error message "an error occurred while importing this file . Please try again". I have tried every troubleshooting method possible and spoken to Adobe customer service, no luck. Please help.  

Hi, I am using workflow DaVinci Resolve (for edit) -> XML -> AAE (for VFX) for years. Today, wanted to import XML timeline to AAE again, but nothing happened. Tried close all panels, but still XML import is not working, nothing happens. When I try to drag&drop it, the red icon appears next to the cursor. I was using it normally for years, I don't know what happened. I have newest update of AAE 25.2.2 (Build 2), BUT weird thing is, that it doesn't work even in older CC2024 version. That probably means that something happened with my system? Is there some shared .XML plugin for import XML to AAE, that would stop working? Or anything? Thanks for suggestions.Dave

I’m running different version of AE on Windows on a macbook pro M1 using Parallels Desktop to test our plugins/scripts Before AE 26, After Effects was running in emulation mode.With AE 26.x, it’s running natively on ARM.Is there a way to enable the emulation so I can test x64 version of our plugin?CheersVal

Double-clicking on a composition does not open it in the project window.I’s the same issue on the composition window. It is impossible to access the menu by left-clicking on a composition in the project window.

Hey Adobe Community,I have some abstract compositions that I need to render in 4K. Most of them consist of some simple 3D shape layers (3 points, connected to 3D Nulls). These are pre-comped, and these pre-comps have colour and blur effects applied to them (Camera Lens Blur, Gaussian Blur, Colorama, CC Toner, these kinds of effects). They’re about a minute long.When trying to render these out (using mostly the H.264 - Match Render Settings - 15Mbps preset) the Memory seems to blow out of proportion, completely clogging up my machine. This also happens with the effects disabled.I’ve tried using my Mac’s internal SSD, and an external SSD as cache. The Maximum Disk Cache Size is set at 150GB. With the 64GB installed, 12GB is set as reserved for other applications. I’ve purged the caches, and restarted the Mac multiple times, but to no avail – it clogs up like this every single time, and I’m stuck not being able to render them. Is there anything I’m doing wrong here? I have a comp size solid that I have a layer style stroke on and. when I change the Advanced Blending it punches through all layers below as if it was on Stencil Alpha. And oddly enough trying Stencil Alpha or Silhouette Alpha changes nothing. But if I move the layer 1 pixel it operates as expected. Also if I draw a mask on it. So my workaround right now is to have a mask that is bigger than the layer.

I keep getting this error when trying to save my after effects project.  I type command + F, choose my location on my HD, and save it as an .aep (the default setting) and this is the error i get - "After Effects Error: File couldn't be opened for writing: "(name of project).aep". (3 ;; 0)

I queue up a project with image 1 in the encoder render, then I go back to the project and change it to image 2 while the first video is still rendering. The encoder changes image 1 to image 2 halfway through the first video. The problem is that for the last two years I have been working the same way and nothing changed in the real-time render if I changed something in the project, but now it changes. This has never happened before. I asked couple of buddies and they said that it worked always like that :/

I'm on Windows, using a UHD 4K monitor and running 175% display scaling.After Effects scales the UI correctly, but the performance of the Timeline panel especially is atrocious. Merely trying to scrub the timeline is very laggy. There are also visual glitches, like vertical black lines, and the playhead not redrawing correctly when using J & K to move between keyframes (the playhead gets disconnected from the line in a redraw glitch). Even doing a RAM preview on a fully cached timeline causes frame drops.If I use the Windows high DPI settings dialog to override the scaling behavior (set scaling to be performed by System), all these performance and glitch issues go away. Scrubbing the timeline and resizing panels is smooth, and no visual glitches appear. Unfortunately, the entire UI is drawn in low res - pixellated and blurry, so it is not usable like this.This has been a long-standing bug and I reported it over a year ago, thinking it was a graphics card issue, but it is clearly re

Does anyone know a Mac program that will convert older .mov files and preserve the alpha? I cannot import them into AE since they are no longer supported. I've downloaded a few free trials, and when I convert to ProRes 4444, I lose the alpha and gain a black background. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks,Denise

Hello! How can I create an expression for checkbox Control to "Fill" effect in a PNG logo? I would like that when the checkbox is marked, the logo takes on the solid color filling, and when disabled keep the original colors of the logo. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks!
