Can you do anything right for once please?
1. AE 24.6.2 ;2. Win 11 Pro 64x 23H2, Intel i7 11thGen, GF RTX 3070 ;3. I have a 3D comp with two types of animation in it - for the layer transforms and for the effects. Here, I attach a AEP file made of solids alone. In every "Side_*" comp, there is expression-animated Fill effect so that every frame is distinct (tried key-anim, all the same). And, Sides are joined in 'Block' comp, where all those are parented to a key-animated rotating null. Now, I nest several 3D copies of this comp with collapsed transformations on top of eachother. 4. I expect to have a 3D scene where each instance is autonomous. Meanwhile, the result is that the very top layer influences the underlying copies, e.g. changing its time value (animated timeRemap, expression, or simply shifting the layer over time), makes all the underlying copies within the 3D container use the time from the top one - this true for the Effects animation, meanwhile, the transform animation is unaffected. See yourself by shift
My program crashed and when I reopened it, most of the layers were gone from the timeline and the ones left behind had renumbered themselves (1-14 - there used to be around 30 layers). When I scrub over the timeline, or play a preview, all the missing layers are still playing as though they are there. I just can't access or edit them. The missing layers weren't the top or bottom few, they seem to be deleted randomlyI don't have any plugins installed. I've googled this problem but none of the solutions seem to apply to my problem. Any help or advice would be AMAZING (please!)
Hi all, I have just downloaded After Effects as my school provides it. I have been experiencing a constant issue of the app closing down after a minute or even 30 seconds and closing my project. My screen shows this white image and then shuts AE down straight after. I have a MacBook10,1 23.8 MB of storage left & No hard drive, It's really annoying lol so somebody please help a girl out, I just wanna do my school work & edit cool tiktoks. Thanks! I'm working on this project which need 3D lines rotating on itself. I can work on them without any problem. However, whenever I try to export them as a PNG sequence (with alpha) so I can use them without taking that much resources, AE gets into a memory leak problem which ends up in a Force quit. The COMP is using the AE renderer, not the classic or the Cinema 4D ones, as I need the lines to have volume/geometry The weird part as you can see from the screen shot too is. that although the system is saying AE is using 149GB of RAM, AE is saying it's only 10% of the actual capacity (64GB). If the comp (1920x1080) is rendered in chunks of 100 frames per render, it goes through. Anything longer of a render (the actual comp is 2550 frames) goes into the memory leak problem.I'm running the Adobe suite in an Apple studio M2 Ultra 64GB RAM, with Sonoma 14.6.1. One external SSD 1030mb/s for Cache, and another two (same specs) for reading/writing. They are connected via USB-

I have found a bug in command-line aerender in After Effects 2025 (and also the latest Beta), on Mac. OS: MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.AE version: 25.0.1 (Build 2) If an AEP file has had its rendering set to "Mercury Software Only", rather than GPU Acceleration (Metal), then when I run a command-line render using aerender, it will hang forever, before it starts rendering out frames Normally I would expect a file like this to render in a few seconds. Editing the AEP file and changing it to GPU Acceleration (Metal) and then re-rerunning aerender results in a render. Rendering in After Effects UI works fine. I have checked with Adobe After Effects 2024 and it renders just fine using aerender, this is only an issue in 2025 (and the current Beta). There is no additional info in the logs, the program just hangs. I could write a script to update the GPU settings before each render but that would be tedious; I also assume other people will be affected by this a
After Effects keeps crashing whenever I try to edit one of the assets on the template file. Last log message was: <18776636> <FontServer> <5> 4 Changed ctSync_msec:195 ctSeed:1 dicts:1354 total_msec:210 I don't have any cache files or plugins to delete.
the UI text is weirdly glitching to the point where it becomes unreadable, this is happening on all of my adobe products. not sure how to replicate, it just came like this version 22.0windows 11 version 24H2
I don't know why this happens. I'm using Ae 25 and Creative Cloud says "it can run well on this computer" and there are no problems with my system requirements. Why do I get a 2 second pause when I start the video? I have 32GB ram and this is weird. It's ridiculous to still see these problems even though I gave 28GB to Ae. What should I do please give advice.
I have been using After Effects in my laptop for a year now, and nothing ever went wrong. The suddently, I tried to open one of my proyects and the composition panel went all black. I can't see anything, both when i'm working or when I press the previsualization button.I have reverted the working space back to standard, I have looked at youtube tutorials and searched on the internet and I can't find an answer.I have deinstalled the program and reverted all preferences to default, reinstalled it and the panel remains the same, and when I check for compatibility issues there is none. But there is simply no visor, just the panel.
Hello,When rendering with multiframe rendering enabled, After Effects often crashes our network cards (10G SFP+).All of our machines are connected via 10gbps fibre to a switch and a file server (Windows Server 2022) on which our project files are stored. When trying to render with multiframe, after a few seconds to a minute of render, windows shows no network access and the network drives are no longer connected. Restarting the adapter is the only way to get access back. This issue only happens on After Effects, only with multiframe rendering enabled. Latest crash was a 9k comp rendered in half resolution in ProRes 422.And as a bonus, sometimes the network crash caused by After Effects makes other clients loose their network as well.
After Effects keeps crashing when I try to open one of my projects. I was able to work on it for hours yesterday (and the file isn't that large, it's only 30 seconds long so far) and today it just would freeze. The first popup I get when I open After Effects says "Your disk cache folder is on a drive that doesn not have enough available space to safely store the full amount specificed in your preferences. Please make more space available or go to Media & Disk Cache preferences to change the folder or maximum disk cache size." I've made my disk cache size 25gb and clearing the media cache just freezes my computer. I also get a popup that says "The following plugins are installed, but are not compatible with this version of After Effects", but I can't figure out how to remove plugins from my computer because I had downloaded those ages ago and can't find them in any adobe folders. I've uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects multiple times, testing both migrate and don't m
hey, can anyone help me everytime i try to copy the text with gradient on it from premier pro and paste it into the after effects it doesn't show the gradient on the text please help me.
I've been dealing with seemingly random hanging for months. Narrowed it down to a combination of using Content Aware Fill ("CAF") any time there is a MGJSON file used anywhere upstream from where content aware fill is used. After Effects hangs on the next save after the CAF completes.I can save if CAF has started but not yet generated frames. Autosave after the CAF completes also causes the hang.MGJSON can be imported in the project, the hang only happens when it is used in a comp.
Its been a while since I've been receiving this crash log from ae and I really want to know what is the problem, it happens every time my autosave tries to save the project so it happens a lot of time. I have a MacBook Pro m3 512gb and 18gb ram , macos installed is Sequoia.I am using After Effects 2022.
Hello, I got a little head scratcher here. I have designed a font, on a 1000pt grid (with a cap-height of 760pt). Then I type H in Illustrator at 500pt size and outline the strokes, the letter is exactly 380px tall (as it should be). When I type a 500pt H in After Effects and convert it to a shape layer, it is 382,6904 pixels tall. Does anyone know why there's a difference and how to fix it? I need it to be precise in After Effects so I can work with whole numbers.
load this file. I'm using AE 24.6.2 build 2 on windows 10. At half resolution the top shape correctly masks the bottom one, and it's invisible.Switch to full resolution and suddenly it's visibleMove the mask 0.01 pixels vertically in either direction and it works again.Gonna say....it's a bug! And it broke my renders and I have a deadline 😅
I have a project which is relatively complex with quite a few expressions in pre-comps to animate characters.Since updating to the latest version of AE it is taking up-to 45 seconds to load and 'paint' the composition when double clicking to display it. For example, I just dragged a simple vector shape into a scene and it took 45 seconds to display the new composition layer. Once displayed it's fine. I have the same project in the previous version of AE and it was much much faster to display. What's going on? Is anyone else having this issue? It's killing my workflow. (and yes my Nvidia 3090 graphics card drivers are up-to-date with a studio driver).

Today and yesterday I rendered ProRes 4444 videos with After Effects CC2024.In the "Date" field that shows by default in Windows 10 Pro it shows , for yesterday's files a date of 26/10/2024 (about a week into the future), but a "date created" of 18/10/2024 (yesterday). For today's output files it shows a date (media created date) of 27/10/2024 (again about a week in the future) but a "date created" of today. When setting the Color Theme to "Dark", the rulers (View > Show Rulers) do not follow the color of the UI.Also, the first part of the X-ruler is cut off. (Colors in Darkest and Light are correct, but the cut also happens here.) Consistent bug. AE 25.0.1Mac OS 15.0.1
This error just appears every time I start the program. I don't know what it is, as it doesn't seem to affect how the program works. But I think it is pertinent to report it.
