After Effects

I am trying to remove the sky and I have done it before, but it seems like keylight has new features? Or at least the masking tools have changed. Not sure if this is connected to what Premiere is doing but this is the biggest headache ever. Seems impossible to even deal with keylight anymore.So I cannot find for the life of me how Inside and Outside masks work. Also is there a reason why vertices are the most difficulty thing to deal with it. Every time I want to deal with one point on my mask it selects the entire masks and it seems to have a mind of its own when it wants to release one point or select the entire mask. This program is the worst to deal with not sure why they made it super difficult to do anything within AE. Any suggestions to either would be a huge help.

I am looking for a effect & preset which can give following vibration effect to a image. You can notice ruler is fixed & vibrating. I tried with “Wiggle” but not satisfied.  Video also attached.Vibrations in a steel ruler      

If you move multiple items at once in the Project Panel, you then have to Undo each item move one at a time. This could be really annoying if you accidentally move a bunch of items. The expected result would be a single Undo Group for the entire move. This bug is in the latest update as well as the Beta

We have some AE licenses in the company. We usually work with raw sequences from Sony and Canon cameras on older versions of AE, but this time we upgraded from AE 24 to 26 (a bad decision). Now, when we import a Raw sequence, Camera raw opens and after we make some adjustements and clic “Save” it crash and AE too. Sometimes it works but if you want to make a new change in Camera raw, both crashes. I have tried all the following steps with several computers and the bug persists:1. Help!!! Im trying to export a 20s video at 60fps. Ive tried changing the CPU settings so its lower, tried exporting as apple pro res to help but nothing seems to work. It gets stuck half way when rendering (media encoder) and then i have to force quit. I dont get any messages about corrupted video file and have replaced the videos in the render with just one to see if that worked, but it didnt. It can do 4-5s of the video but just not the whole thing in one goAttached is an example. happy to share AF files as im not sure its my computer that cant handle it. thanks  

I want to keyframe audio going from silence to some audible level. I set the stop watch for audio levels at the beginning of a wave form and drag the level slider down, and move the CTI later into the track and increase the audio at that point by dragging the audio level slider,, though when the CTI hits the waveform it is still playing the audio even though I tried making the audio silent at the first keyframe. What do I need to do to make the audio not audible on the first keyframe? Thank you

Hi Everyone, I’m having a weird problem. A certain expression works on AE GUI but it does not work when rendered with aerender.I am trying to create a dynamic creative app for my agency. Basically, I have an aep template that has a json object. I modify the json and render via aerender.I can change text, images, videos, text style, etc dynamically. Here’s the problem:I can’t change a shape’s color with aerender. The json is parsed correctly (textboxes show the values correctly, and even hexToRgb conversion is done correctly). But the shape does not seem to pickup color. When I open the AE GUI, it runs correctly. However, aerender does not render correctly. I tried different methods, including putting the expression in shape’s fill color, using a color object, linked with the shape embedding the shape in a comp and using tint / fill effects. All these methods I mentioned work in AE GUI with no problem. However they don’t work in aerender. The color code comes from the json correctly, bu

I’ve just switched from AE2025 to AE2026 but I have a problem with Aces colors interpretation.I have a tiff sequence RGB+A (premultiplied alpha) with sRGB color space. The Project is set as follows in both AE25 and AE26 (AcesCCT):  The footage’s colors are interpreted as follows:This is my workflow and I’ve never had problems with colors until I’ve worked with AE25.In AE2026, when using AcesCCT I see washed-out colors; with AcesCC, the colors are ok. This is the only difference between the settings:Same machine, same footage, same color settings, different version of AE = different colors. Any ideas?I’ve searched in AE Preferences but they look very similar and they seem to have same settings.

Can you save a single composition from an After Effects project so it can be opened inside a second project? Deleting a couple hundred files from a large AEP to reduce it to a single comp is not realistic. Just need to move one composition into another project where it would be useful without having to migrate the entire original project. Reconnect the media and done. Possible?

Hi everyone. So eaerlier this evening I downloaded Sapphire plugin for AE; I was having some issues with it and a friend suggested just redownloading it, so for some silly reason I just decided to delete all of the Sapphire files (plugins, etc) off my laptop. However, since I did that, every time I've tried to open AE an error message appears saying: "Can't find Sapphire bundle in /Applications/BorisFX/Saphire 2022 Adobe/config/sapphire-ae64.bundle: file does not exist. Please reinstall Sapphire Plug-ins to fix this problem." I feel like I've tried everything: I've cleared ALL Sapphire plugin folders, I've reinstalled AE several times, I've reinstalled the sapphire plugins (and yet again deleted them) and literally nothing has worked. As far as I can see, there are absolutely no remaining Sapphire or BorisFX files or folders. I've tried clearing/resetting AE preferences. Nothing's been working, and I know people have had this issue before as I've googled it and trie

After opening a 3rd party project, probably made where text writes right to left, I can’t get After Effects 2026 to type Left to Right. (The same thing has occurred in the Beta version) How can I get the Latin text engine back? It is NOT a setting in the character or paragraph dialogues, and I’ve tried “resetting” both of those. I’ve also attempted the switch opening a project that use to work properly to reset it. That didn’t work either. I’m on a Mac running Tahoe. I’d prefer to not trash the preferences and lose my workspaces and keyboard shortcuts. Thanks!

If I want to test a work, is it possible to lock the existing keyframes (KF) and add new temporary KFs with different color?   

I made an animation preset for creating captions (followed tutorial). I’ve got a black rectangle shape that populates custom text. However, I want to adjust the opacity of the black rectangle shape only. I’ve tried adjusting the “Amount to Tint”, but that doesn’t work (and inverts both color mappings simultaneously). Same for the effect opacity. DOes anyone know, based on how I built this animation preset, how I can adjust the opacity of one of the color mappings? If not, what would be the best way for me to create what I’m after? Thanks all! 

A client has requested that I use Adobe After Effects version 24.6.8. I upgraded from 16GB to 32 GB of RAM, but AE still crashes after the 30 minute mark. I have BCC Sapphire 2025 and flow installed and am currently using AE 2025, but i'm not even working with a crazy heavy workflow.i precompose basically everything i can and have turned off hardware acceleration, ive uninstalled and reinstalled sapphire, ive tried the audio hardware trick, and i purge my memory and cache every 15 minutes, but STILL, my playback will just randomly stop working and i have to manually crash AE. I have recently got my pc fixed, and After Effects was working fine but clicking on "clear cache" when I had low storage is when the crashing problems started.I had my SATA cable changed, and my memory is working fine with the AF files backed up and collected- AE is up to date- I have Windows 10 on a custom build- 16 GB of RAM- 172+ GB of storage What I have done:- uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects- disabled "Enable Compressed Frames (Lossless)"- restarted pc and ran AF in safe mode (didn't change anything as I don't have any third-party plugins) I had different types of issues, some being.-Sometimes I hear 4 rapid beeps that start quiter and grow louder, then don't see any problems until it suddenly closes after less than a minuteAre the 4 beeps a warning message? I haven't heard it before, and now I hear it while having these issues every time I start AF-I hear 4 rapid beeps, then my monitor screen turns black temporarilyturns back on, then the error "After Effects can'tconti
