After Effects (Beta)

Hi! Lately, when running After Effects Beta, I've been getting the following notification, even though no newer update is available. I tried emptying the AdobeTemp cache, but I'm still getting this notification. This started with the most recent update (26.1.1 build 3, Windows). Is anyone else seeing the notification? Is there a way to make it stop until an actual update is available? Thanks in advance for any helpful info.
So Canon C50 is fairly new camera which has been around for over four months already and despite Adobe claims to have its raw codec to be supported on GPU lately the image made from either Full Frame 3:2 7K Canon Raw Light Codec or standart Full Frame 16:9 7K appears to be complitely broken as In After Effects so in Premiere
I've been professionally using Adobe products for over 30 years, and in that time, have edited many thousands of splines/curves/paths - whether that's in Ai, AE, PS or any other Adobe product. I have NEVER in all those years, ever wanted to edit a spline by dragging the spline itself, which ALWAYS produces wildly unpredictable results. On EVERY one of those thousands of splines I've edited, I've always used the Bezier handles/points. Every time. I have, on occasion, accidentally dragged the spline itself, right next to a handle, only to produce a ridiculous and unwanted result, closely followed by an "undo" of course. Am I alone in finding the abillity to edit a spline/path/curve by dragging the spline itself an annoyance, or does anyone out there actually ever do this - other than by accident? I propose that the ability to drag-edit a spline be restricted to ONLY its points/handles, and the annoying "drag the spline to create some weird, unwanted rubbish" be disabled. Maybe we co
Trying to export a text sequence in the latest beta, the 3D Camera tracker camera just gets ignored and won’t set itself to default. I have been editing with the camera selected on the popup view, but it’s a complete failure on Premiere Pro Dynamic Link and on an export.
The window layout is saved correctly, but their sizes keep resetting. Even after adjusting and saving, in the next project these windows will be stretched incorrectly, not the way I saved them.Nothing changes in the system. The screen resolution and project/composition are the same as when I saved the workspace. The tiny window with the "Align" function takes up a lot of space, it is illogical. Fixed, saved. Next time the same problem.
When typing to edit layer transform parameters in the Properties window, hitting tab jumps to the Effects window search field. Convention suggests that it should jump to the next parameter. For example, I'm typing a number to edit the x position, then hit tab wanting to now edit the y position without going back to my mouse, and expect the y position to be the focus for typing. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select the position.x Layer Transform parameter in the Properties window. 2. Type a number. 3. Hit tab Result: The search field of the Effects window is the focus for keyboard.Expected: The position.y parameter is the focus for the keyboard. Successive tabs should cycle through the parameters of the Properties window. System info Application: After Effects (Beta) v26.1.0.9 OS: macOS v15.6.0, RAM: 48.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 14
We're excited to share an improvement to 3D Text Extrusion in today's beta update, 26.1x9. This update significantly improves how fonts render with overlapping paths and interior holes when extruded. With the introduction of Variable Font Animation, we were reminded that many fonts aren’t designed with 3D extrusion in mind. This became particularly apparent when animating font axes, where overlapping paths and letter holes change over time and could cause faces to be incorrectly filled in, overlap or disappear. Text that's extruded to 3D now automatically cleans up overlapping paths before extrusion, resulting in much cleaner geometry and more reliable rendering. While variable fonts helped expose the issue, the fix ensures better 3D extrusion quality for both variable and non-variable fonts alike. Before After If you've encountered fonts that don't extrude correctly, we'd love for you to test them in this build and share your results with us. Your feedback helps us contin
When im in Creative Cloud, at the ''Apps'' tab i don't see the ''Beta'' tab. Does anyone know why? I'm located in the Netherlands tho, maybe thats it but idk. And at "Pre-Release'' i only see illustrator.
OH WHEN WILL I EVER LEARN that linked AE/PPRo comps are NOT A THING unless you want to kill yourself. Of course, because it's Friday afternoon and I have a deadline to meet, AE is just flat-out refusing to update ANYTHING in any of my comps. The same stupid bug that's been around for years. I'm on AE Beta 26.0.0x47. Adobe won't read this, Adobe won't act on this....they never do. I have lost count of how many times I've reported this bug - I know detail is missing today, but please look back through my NUMEROUS other reports of the same thing (a search CTI not updating should do it) for all the same old same old... ugh.
With separated dimensions, easing is fundamentally flawed if a layer has been unparented:Imagine a shape moving left to right + some easing applied (with separated x and y positions)Then it is parented to a comp-centered Null that is turned 180 degrees. The shape now moves right to left. Either delete the Null or unparent the object from the Null.Values change accordingly (the object still moves right to left), but the easing is still the same – it has not been transformed to comp-space.That is especially apparent when one used something like an ease-in or ease-out curve that starts/end abruptly (curve starting/ending in non-zero pixels/second).
Can no longer see this beta app (or any beta apps) in the creative cloud app. Wondering if it got pulled for some reason?
Compositions linked to Premiere Pro do not contain any of the footage or audio that I wanted to replace from Premiere Pro.
Sequence appears blank in after effects after using replace clips in premiere pro. It works fine in the non beta version.
We're excited to share an update to the After Effects Preferences, starting with After Effects Beta 26.0x40. We've reorganized and refreshed the preferences to make it easier to find the settings you need, when you need them. What's New The preferences have been thoughtfully reorganized into logical groups that reflect your workflow: Project & Workflow Startup & Repair - Configure how After Effects launches and handles project recovery Project - Manage workspace preferences, Dynamic Link settings, new project templates, solids folders, and auto-save options Composition - Fine-tune composition behavior, layer creation settings, double-click actions, mask preferences, and more Previews - Control preview quality, caching, and playback settings User Interface Appearance - Customize themes, UI scaling, colors, hardware acceleration, and visual display options Grids & Guides - Configure grid spacing, guide snapping, and safe margins Label
From Premiere Pro beta, when I try to create a dynamic link, it creates a link, and it will create a comp in After Effects beta as well, but no clip, text comes from Premiere pro to after effcts beta
I just updated my AE beta (Nov 14) and now it's unable to open. dvastorage.dll not found. I can not Copy paste any dll file in the support files folder because it's requesting admin rights. Even my IT admin doesn't seem to have admin rights for this folder.
The ProblemIn Shape Layers, the “Anchor Point” in the Shape Transform group only affects Scale and Rotation, but not Size. When animating the Size property (e.g., of a Rounded Rectangle), the shape grows or shrinks symmetrically from the center, regardless of where the anchor point is.This makes it impossible to do natural-looking directional growth (e.g., “expand downwards from the top edge”) unless you hack around it. Here's an example:I have a Rounded Rectangle.I move its Shape Transform anchor point to the top edge.If I animate Scale, it respects the anchor point, but the rectangle gets distorted (stretchy look) instead of staying proportional. If I animate Size, the proportions are preserved, but the anchor point is ignored — it always expands outward evenly in all directions. Why I think the anchor point should affect the "Size" property: Motion designers often want shapes to “grow from” or “shrink into” a specific edge or corner (like buttons, UI panels, progress ba
When linking Premiere with After Effects, the screen goes black in After Effects, and Premiere displays a red layer, indicating image loss.
Hello After Effects users! We have a cornucopia of new features entering public beta today in version 26.0x8, and we’re excited to share what’s on the way: 3D workflow enhancements Parametric Meshes Parametric Meshes are the 3D version of shape layers. Create spheres, cubes, cones & more; customize and animate their size, shape and appearance. Easily make meshes look plastic or metallic by adjusting simple, physically-based material properties, or assign a Substance 3D material to take things to the next level. The Shapes of Things to Come After Effects beta users, time to start building! We are excited to introduce two new 3D features that work well individually but even better together: Parametric Meshes and Substance 3D Materials. With their powers combined, you can now design beautiful 3D scenes rich in shape and texture natively within After Effects. AE’s growing toolbox of useful 3D features now includes an assortment of Parametric 3D Meshes, which is a fancy technical description for 3D shapes that you can use as building blocks for your compositions. These meshes include a Cube, a Sphere, a Plane, a Torus (mmm, donut), a Cone and a Cylinder, all of which can be customized to create a wide variety of looks. Combining Parametric Meshes with Substance 3D Materials (aka SBSARs) can give your 3D meshes and models an exciting new look. SBSARs are dynamic, adjustable materials that can look like almost anything, natural or man-made—constructio
After two years since Spectrum 2 was announced, I expected to see something at the recent Adobe MAX, but that wasn't the case.A year ago some minor changes were introduced to AE, but I was wondering if in the coming months we will actually see a redesign based on Spectrum 2. Thanks team.
It's a minor thing, but often I have longer filenames and have been using comments to keep track of some things as well. However, if the text is too long, the source / file name gets an ellipsis at some point in the middle of the text, and comments are simply truncated (and sometimes it is not even obvious that this is happening). Making the columns wider helps, but then takes up valuable screen real estate. Would be great to show a tooltip with the full text when the mouse hovers over these. It honestly is a feature that seems standard in many UIs, and I was expecting one to appear initially when I first started messing with After Effects.
We are excited to announce the public beta release of Windows on ARM native support in After Effects 25.6 build 7! We expect After Effects to run on all Qualcomm Snapdragon X-based laptops and tablets. We do have some known issues that differ from those in the emulated beta, and we will update as we resolve them: Lack of format support, mostly notably ProRes (supported as of 25.6 build 34), but also including ARRIRAW, SWF, GoPro CinePro, JPEG20000 in MXF, and WMV. These formats cannot be imported or exported. This means that the High Quality and High Quality with Alpha settings will default (with a helpful warning) to the uncompressed QuickTime codec. No import of MotionJPEG and MKV. No hardware accelerated playback & export of H.264 and HEVC in MP4. (Playback supported as of 25.6 build 66) Keylight and Mocha are not yet available (there is a warning about them being missing on launch). The Cinema 4D renderer and related C4D features (e.g. Cineware) are not yet available. Third-p
After replacing a sequence with an After Effects composition, the clip is not visible.
We’re thrilled to introduce Lossless Compressed Playback, now available in After Effects beta (starting with version 26.0x8). This new feature takes composition playback to the next level — letting you preview longer durations while using significantly less disk space. How? After Effects now compresses cached frames without any loss in visual quality. What’s New With Lossless Compressed Playback, After Effects automatically stores cached frames in a compressed, lossless format on disk. This means you can: Preview much longer segments of your timeline. Store more frames within your allocated disk cache limit. Compression happens automatically in the background — saving disk space without changing your workflow or image quality. Getting Started On by default: The feature is enabled automatically for all Beta users. To view or modify the setting, go to Preferences → Media & Disk Cache, and check
