Audition

HiUsing CC2019 I am converting a large number of accurately timed wav files to mp3.  I want the mp3 files to be the same duration as the wav's but exporting to 192kbps CBR at 44100/16 stereo,  a 59:00 long mp3 is about 6 seconds shorter in run time, (i.e. 58:54), a 2:59:00 wav to mp3 exports as 2:58:44.  I am having to use Stetch and Pitch with special timings in order to get the required duration.Fortunately the discrepancy is consistent, so for example, batching a number of 59.00 minute files with an S&P preset set at a new duration of 59.06 then exporting to mp3 seems to do the trick, but why is it happening?  It is a PITA to have to experiment to find a setting that works for different durations.  The conversions also take time, the 59 min progs take about 25 mins.The win10 pc is reasonably high end, it will batch 15 wavs simultaneously but I get the same issues on a win10 box running CS6 which will only handle 3 simul

I'm recording a radio show on my computer which I have to send to the radio station as an 320 kbps mp3 file. So far so good.The problem is that when I want to export the multitrack session through the export/multitrack/full session window (with mp3 320 kbps properly selected), what I get is a 192 kbps file. And the guy at the station is not happy. the funny thing is that when the file opens in Audition after exporting, it says 320 kbps. when I look at it in explorer, it says 192 kbps, and the file is 86 Mb when it should be 145...I tried to export through Media Encoder, but it's even worse, there's no 320 kbps option as it stops at 256...I solved the problem temporarily by exporting to .wav and then converting to 320 kbps mp3 in Audacity but 1/ it's slightly tedious and 2/I'd like Audition (and Media Encoder) to handle it properly.any idea what the problem might be?

I'm not sure what part of my system I should be suspicious of.   I use Audition to record so I'm posting it here, though it could surely be any other system factor responsible.   I get a recording that has a glitchy skip where time is lost, however brief fraction of a second.  Or it is a super rapid digital sounding loop for just a brief moment, you probably know what I mean.  It's like you asked the computer a really hard math problem in the middle of recording.. it must doing something else for a moment.  It could be a 5 minute recording or an hour long one.  It doesn't happen every since recording.   I tried putting the laptop in airplane mode in case it was internet related.  Inconclusive.  I'm not using any VST realtime processing software on the input.  Recording with Audition. Dell XPS15, 32GB RAM, 1 TB (25% full) a year or so oldWin10 64bitSteinberg UR22   (too-cheap interface?)A

Hi all.I upgraded from Cool Edit Pro to Audition 1.0 and then 3.0 a long time ago.I have re-installed the software and now I can't find the 3.0 serial number.However, I do have the 1.0 serial number.Customer services have been unable to help, although they have supplied me with a serial number for CS3 Master Collection, but it excludes Audition.I contacted customer services again and they have told me they can't help as it is such an old product and they have directed me to these forums.I was running 3.0 on an old Windows 7 Professional 32-bit P.C., so I can't update to the latest subscription-based version of Audition as that requires a 64-bit P.C.Any help and advice appreciated.Thanks.Chris.

Hi there, The video playback in audition is pretty much unusable for me. With pretty much every video I try the playback is either very choppy or the video won't play back at all. In premiere I have no issues at all with playback. Changing the resolution in Audition also doesn't seem to help the problem whatsoever.I'm on the 2018 Macbook Pro 15", anybody have similar issues or a potential fix?Thanks in advance!

I am making radio documentaries and Audition CC has a lot of interesting features for very precise editing tasks but I can't find ways of working smoothly with groups or merged clips.  I am editing at the moment a long piece needing a lot of speech editing, with sometimes 8 to 10 very short clips to make less than a single minute.  When this short speech is edited in 10 very short clips, I would like to merge all these clips together visually to get only one clip. Merging would be the best way but I need to be able to unmerge them if additional editing work is needed later (This is something you can do with Sadie for example, a DAW designed for radio use). Would there be a way of doing it with Audition CC ?My workaround is to 'Group' theses clips together. Visually, it is not perfect as I still see a lot of small clips but, grouping them makes a single clip to move around which was my main goal and it is possible to ungroup easily.  When I have edited

So i’m using Adobe Audition 2020, I am fairly new to it but I did use the 2017 version for a while previously.  When i’m recording music and I hear the vocal stems with no effects and with effects and they don't have any popping noise, but the moment i export them, when I open the audio clip in itunes or send it to my producer it is CONSTANT crackling and popping, however when I export it WITH the effects on it (like autotune, delay, etc) there's no popping? I’m just incredibly confused because it's never done this before I don't believe when i was using the 2017 version.

I‘ve been doing basic editing of an audiobook in ocenaudio, and now, for a number of reasons, would prefer to use Audition. However, i haven‘t been able to find a comparable function to ocen’s “paste to fit” command. (I copy five secs of clean room tone to the clipboard, and then as I select gaps with noise or mouth sounds between words, my shortcut command replaces the selection with only what’s needed from the clipboard.) It’s been fast and convenient. I naively assumed this would have been found in all DAWs, but haven’t found it in Audition. Am I missing something, perhaps obvious?

Why when restarting your computer, do my Audition audio settings get all jumbled? Version 13

Hello,I have a long audiofile and created many merged markers (with a time range) and named them purposefully. When I export them I get the tracks with the title I gave the marker as the filename and the order is added as a postfix.But when I import them in iTunes the titles of each track are all the same and there is no tracknumber / order to them. It's a timeconsuming hassle to find the right title and tracknumber manually. There must be an easier way to do this. But I searched and coudn't find an answer. Can someone please explain to me how to export the chunks created with markers of an large audiofile so that each "chunk"/marker-range/track has the proper metadata to easyily import it in iTunes. Or to rephrase it - how to set the metadata to each individual "chunk"/marker-range/track. Or is there another way I need to go about it?

I would like to use my iphone to conduct a phone interview that I record straight into Audition.  I'm using a Scarlet audio interface, it's getting to the Mac sound card, but it's not making it into Audition.  What am I missing?  Thanks in advance.

I can not find any explanation what "suspend group" function does. Does anyone here know?     

I am editing a podcast that has two seperate tracks. The length is around 30 minutes. When I edit the sound in Waveform or cut a file in Multitrack and move it, there is a very long lag or the application on longer responds. Below are the stats on the type of Mac I am using. I recently upgraded so my computer could handle large Adobe files. Any help or advice would be appreciated. iMac Pro (2017) - High SierraProcessor: 3.2 GHz Intel Xeon WMemory: 32 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 

I am recording audio books for commercial sale.  Every chapter in a given book is recorded in a different file.  I need to search and replace all and every breath sound with a silence in all files. I have tried the suppress sound command and the reduce noise command after having selected a given breath sound but the result in not satisfying because it does alter the sound of the voice.How can I do this? Is it just a question of adjusting the different sliders? Or what?!?Right now I am manually selecting every breath sound and replacing it with a silence using a keyboard  shortcut that I have created but it takes me hours to do so. If there were a kind of search and replace command like in Microsoft Word I could select the breath sound and then replace all of them in seconds (instead of hours!)Can someone help me with this? 

Hello everyone! I am doing audio books and I am searching a way to identify quickly spaces between sentences/voice and replace them with room tone while making sure that the replacements are of the same length of time as the spaces.Is there any workflow or favorites applicable to do so quickly instead of selectig manually each and every space between parts of a sentence and replace it with room tone? Thaks in advance for your help!

A few months a ago i noticed that my mixdowns were sounded differnt (less processed) compared to listening in the mutitrack. I'm unsing latest version of Adobe CC and the latest version of WAVES Gold. So bassically i'll perfectly compress, eq, limit VOs with music in multitrack, then when i mixdown the track, it almost sounds like i've turned down the wet slider to about 75% leaving 25% dry FX. The only way around it is to over process the voice and then it sounds how it should do in the mixdown. my bit rates are all the same and matching (48k 16bit). I've tried everything but can't seem to resolve it. Has anyone else had this problem?
