Hi,I'm using a Steinberg UR12 2 channel interface. I'm trying to record a bass guitar track over a song (stereo MP3) that my friend sent me.I've imported the MP3 and have it on Track 1.I'm trying to record the bass on Track 2. Set the Input to the Steinberg Chanel 1. When I arm Track 2 and then hit 'record', not only does Track 2 record the bass guitar, but it's also recording the Stereo file in Track 1 as well with the mono bass track onto Track 2. I've updated Adobe. And have installed the latest firmware for my Steinberg. Nothing I'm trying seems to be able to fix this? What is Track 1 being re-routed as an input onto Track 2?
Previous versions of Audition did not have this problem. When I go into waveform view to edit a clip in a session with video, the video panel turns black.I'm currently sound-editing a feature film. I need to remove crew footsteps from a quiet scene. Ordinarily, this is no problem. Just go into the spectral editor, and paint out every footstep that doesn't belong to the cast. It takes just a few minutes to do a whole scene, when you can actually see what the cast is doing. But trying to work blind like this is absolutely impossible.Anyone have any ideas?Windows 10 ProIntel Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz16 GB DDR DDR5nVidia GeForce RTX 2070
I recorded an interview with two microphones, and I probably messed up the setting on the Zoom H5, because when I listen to it in the multitrack setting, it only has my voice, and the other person recorded with my microphone in the distance, very low volume. When I switch to the waveform and listen to it there, both channels are fine, and I hear us equally loud. What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance for any reply, I guess I will have to mono mix it somehow. The file is 24 bit depth.Marius
I've edited audio from a lot of situations, but sometimes we just aren't lucky enough to get room tone at all. I've had a number of cases where I manually went in and deleted audio that's over a certain amplitude to try to create my own room tone, and it's a very lengthy process. The benefits of having room tone are endless. Having the ability to generate roomtone that matches your audio clip would be a huge bonus. Especially with the Essential Sound panel having noise reduction. Reducing noise is great, but sometimes you'd want to fill in the silence you've created with some natural room tone. Or perhaps you're shooting ADR and want to mix it in with stuff recorded live. You'll need room tone to put behind the ADR to make it match.Another company's software suite has the ability to do this and it looks like an absolute life saver:Ambience / Room Tone Matching with RX 5 Advanced Audio Editor & Pro Tools - YouTube
Hi,I was working on a multitrack session (about 12 tracks) and made sure I hit "Save" every once in a while, as well as when I was done for the day.Next day I saw that Audition had quit unexpectedly. When reopening yesterday's project, it appeared empty. All the recorded files were piled upin the left upper corner, but not inside the session. So I recompiled it again. It took a while, as some of the bits were not starting at 0'.A couple of days later the story repeated with a slight change - this time the session only had first three tracks in place out of 12 that were there when I finished working on it last. It seems that Audition had restored an earlier auto-saved version of the session, because I had muted 2 of those 3 these tracks when last working on the project.I tried to open the .sesx files from "Backup" folder, but the result was always the same - three tracks, the rest missing.Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any idea where could all the saved versions have gone? tec
So for my podcast I interviewed someone on skype. At the end of the recording I played it back in Skype and the whole hour was there. Now when I saved it and opened it up in Audition CC, the audio stops after like 8 minutes. So basically for the first 8 minutes there is audio and waves and for the rest of the 52 minutes there is silence and no waves. I have no clue what I am doing wrong and I did convert it from an MP4 to and MP3. Here is a photo of what it looks like. Can I get some help?
Pierre
I have a person's voice that is a little hash, or loud, or high. What can I do to drop that down some? Amplitude onlydoesn't work, still harsh, tho quieter. Thanks anyone
Greetings Audition experts : )I know nobody reads anything these days... ; ) but I had a colleague ask me today if I could suggest a good book to develop his understanding of digital audio - with a view to giving him a good foundation for his work in Audition. The person concerned works with supplied video and audio content that can range from 'OK quality' to 'very poor quality' and is increasingly tasked with 'restoring' those sources as much as possible. So typical jobs might be very heavy noise reduction, for example. While much of this work can be done with the 'auto-magical' tools such as the new DeNoiser, my friend would like to have a firmer understanding of the principles of digital audio so he can approach these tasks with understanding. Can anyone suggest anything suitable? Thanks
I am trying to create "Favorites" and write to it from whom I need to allocate in order to cut off all the songs in 25 seconds (Selection/View) from now on. But the program does not record the changes, how to fix it?
I have to match some audio to video in Audition CC. I click the three lines (or the "hamburger symbol") in the Video Panel to get a closer look to make sure the the audio matches the talent's mouth. But now the talent's mouth is cut off when I change the scaling to 50%. Is there a way to scroll up within the Video Panel to see the part that gets cut off when I scale up the video like in Premiere Pro and After Effects? Thanks
When I'm finished with a vocal recording, and editing it, when I go back to the multitrack, the recording has moved from the position I recorded, to the very beginning of the beat. What am I not doing?? HELP
While recording an audio track in Audition, we are experiencing clipping at -6. Is there a way to raise that threshold to 0?
Audio Director software has a function called Smart Transition-Tempo Transition that can provide an automatic tempo transition, either faster to slower or vice-versa, between two different pieces of music on a soundtrack. Does Adobe Audition have a similar function, a plug-in, or a way of doing this in several steps? If you can direct me to instructions on how to do this in Audition, I would appreciate it.
Hi guys,Just wondering if someone can help me. I accidently got rid of the panel (edit I believe) where all my files are listed to play. As I work for a radio station I really need this back! I think I clicked undock something. Could someone please help me with this? Thank you in advance.

Ok so I'm editing some audio and I need to zoom in to fix some dialogue. when I do, for whatever reason the waveform and the spectral display are going out of sync. I've never encountered this before and I can find anyone else that has. here are some pictures to help show what I'm experiencing Zoomed in: And for whatever reason, if I zoom in a little more, it goes back in syncI've already Uninstalled and reinstalled, and I haven't changed anything from what I normally do when editing. So I really have no idea what's going on. It just started doing it today. I'm on Windows PC if that helps
I'm using Audition on Windows 10 and the Generate Speech effect has been great so far. But I want to add emphasis on certain words. For example, the sentence "What was he hiding?" I want to put an emphasis on "was" so it sounds more like "What WAS, he hiding?" I read in a few places that you can add tags like [[emph +]] but Audition doesn't seem to recognize that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hey Guys,I am running a 7 day trial of Audition and have connected my MacBook Pro and audio interface and applied the correct settings to ensure that these are recognised. When clicking record, I get a flatline with no audio playing back.I have done the following to try and rectify:1. Checked the settings in preferences for Audio Channel Mapping and Audio Hardware and these are picking up the equipment.2. Have tested with Garage Band and all working fine3. Checked the Sound Settings on the Mac and these are recognising the hardware input as expected.4. Tried different ports on the Mac and had the same results.5. Have tried both Waveform and Multitrack with the same result. Not Sure If I am missing something simple, have tried disconnecting the hardware and using the Mac Mic and Speakers but the same result.Want to give Audition a shot but have spent an hour or so troubleshooting today and not made any headway.Any help would be great, I have added screenshots of the result after recording
Hi thereI have a juli audio card on my computer that has a midi port.I want to knowCan the software use the "transport.toggle pause" command using this audio card and through the control surface section?thanks
I purchased a license for Audiiton CC for my nephew as a holiday gift. He was able to download the application, but every time he attempt to launch the program it crashes. There are no error messages. His computer is brand new and meets the minimum system requirements. Any suggestions?
Context - I have been an audio engineer since the mid-90s. I learned on Analog gear. I got into DAW recording in 1997. I have extensive knowledge of how compressors and noise gates and expanders work, so I am not looking for an explanation of compressors. However, I am having a difficult time understanding the user interface of the Dynamics Processing plug-in.I feel like I grasp the main graph on the "Dynamics Tab," but I'm having a hard time understanding the Settings tab.Under the settings tab you have the Level Detector section and below it, the Gain Processor section. Level Detector has an Input Gain slider (this makes sense). The Gain Processor has an Output Gain slider (this makes sense) as well, and both have attack and release settings.MAIN QUESTION: I understand what attack and release settings are for on any other compressor/gate/expander, but why are there two sets of these settings under this tab? I notice there is no "hold" setting
I can record the left channel in stereo but I can't get any input/volume/signal from the mic when I try to record in mono. My settings are attached. Any ideas?
Hi All, I received a voiceover file that I need to split up into multiple files and insert silence at the beginning and end of each file. I can do this manually, but I’d like to automate the process if possible. It seems that this feature used to exist in Audition, but it has been reduced to just splitting the file, rather than also inserting silence. According to the following (fairly old) Adobe blog post, this process used to be available in Audition by creating range markers spanning the areas in the file that need to be split, and pressing the "Batch Export Marker Regions" button in the Markers pane: https://theblog.adobe.com/using_audition_to_save_section/ According to the blog post, this would create separate files for each range, and allow you the option of inserting silence into each file. Apparently, this feature was available since Audition was named Cool Edit Pro. Unfortunately, this button does not exist in Audition CC 2018. There is a button

I want to save every track in own files without the video. Therefore I imported a video file. This file has two tracks.Audition shows them as one track with four ... lines?I didn't find an option to select online one ore two lines, so that I could delete the other one.Kind regardsPicture:
