Audition

Hi friends, and hopefully developers... for me, saving an audio file as an M4A always introduces a tiny split-second of silence at the end. (You have to close the file and re-open to discover the silence.) While this probably isn't a problem for 99% of users, that silence causes issues on my end because I create M4As that are looping audios. The silence is no bueno for this task. I've had to go to a different platform for this final task of my work. I'd much rather stay in Audition. A fix would be appreciated. I’m trying to find out more information about what settings are saved by Audition when you save the application settings.  (See menu command File>Export>Application Settings.)Adobe’s own support pages state: “Application settings files store all current preferences, effect settings, and workspaces. Export and import these files to store groups of customized settings for specific workflows, or transfer favorite settings to another machine.”Does anyone know exactly what is covered by the export?  Workspaces are covered, but “Current preferences” is rather vague. For instance, are user keyboard shortcuts and user defined favorites saved?  What about user defined settings within effects, both native to Audition and third party plugins? Regards, Steve

I have Adobe Audition CS6 with a perpetual license. Lots of difficulty getting in installed (Windows 11) but through a chat with Adobe it did get installed and I have used it!! This was last week. Today Adobe Audition is NOT on the computer anymore. NOT listed in Installed Apps, NOT found in Program Files (or Program Files(x86) I've been using Windows since the '80s and have NEVER had a program just go away. I DID NOT uninstall it since I use it frequently. Any idea how this magic came about or what to do about it? (I didn't pick a good topic since "disappearing program" isn't a choice 🙂

Hi! Anyone managed to use all six channels of the Emagic EMI 2|6 under Win10? The last official driver from Emagic for that soundcard is for WinXP. And under Win10, I can only get "unofficial, generic" drivers from Microsoft. But when using these, I can only access the first two channels in Audition/VLC/whatever?! I can't figure out how to rename a file. Rename is grayed out. WTH am I to do with "Untitled 2?" I don't want to do this in Multitrack. I need this in Waveform. I'm creating various audio tones (or only attempting to at this point).

Pardon this nubie questions - Im on a Mac MiniM2, Behringer UMC204HD USB interface, Samsung large diaphram Mic, recording short segments of voice to audition. When I play back the track I am still hearing room noise via my live microphone. I can turn off the phantom power on the back of the Behringer USB interphase (to cut the mic), but on the UMC204HD the phamtom power is on a mechanical switchs in the back of the unit and seems crazy to be reaching back there every time I want to check a recording  - there must be a better solution.

Does stretching using "stretch and pitch" affect pitch? I want to stretch the clip without affecting pitch.

Hi,I have been interested recently in substantiating my skills and expertise using Audition by attempting to become an Adobe Certified Professional. It seems however that is it no longer possible to apply for an Audition qualification. I'm just wondering whether anyone could shed light on this; what's happened and why is this no longer available? Thanks for any insight

Hello. I inherited a project where the case study videos have music playing in the background under the narration. In one of the videos, the volumne on background music is too high and overwhelms the narration. I only have the mp4 file for the video, which I was able to separate the audio and video into separate tracks and export the audio to a separate mp3 file. Now, I want to separate the audio in the mp3 file into separate tracks (one for narration and one for music) so I can lower the volume of the music track. Can I do this in Audition? Normally, I would scrap the audio completely and redo it from scratch, but I don't have the music file that was used, and I want to preserve consistency across all of the case study videos, which all use this same music as background. I’m having a little bit of trouble with Adobe Audition, for some reason its not finding all the session files. Here’s some context. I’m working on a film where all the audio has been done inside premiere. I imported the premiere project file into audition to do a 5.1 mix and everything is good. I can access the project file from a different computer over the network and it finds the files every time. However when I copy the entire project over to a SSD to work on it on the go there are select video and audio files audition cannot find and its making me link hundreds of files individually in a very inconvenient way compared to how premiere does it. The premiere project file that is linked to the session can find all the files fine, the file structure hasn’t changed to when I copied it over to the SSD and I just don’t know why this is happening. The picture is what I get when I open the file up on the ssd.

Hello,I'm generating / synthesizing sounds from various sources (Eurorack, Ableton Live, etc), that is finally getting rendered into 4-channels (Front-Left, Front-Right, Rear-Left, Rear-Right).I want to be able to capture the final output of 4 channels, as a 4-channel AIFF / WAV audio file.The 4 channels of audio are coming in to an audio interface (RME), as Analog Inputs 1, 2, 3 & 4.In Audition, under the Audio Channel Mapping, there is only "Default Stereo Input", and the ability to only choose two channels as the input. Is there a way here to add 2 more channels to the input?The Output section shows 36 channels (wondering why the output shows all the channels, but the input is only stereo)?When I create a new File -> New -> "Audio File", I can create a Custom Audio Channel Layout, and add two more channels to make a 4 channel audio file.And the created file does show 4 channels.However, when I hit Record, it only records the first two channels. 3&4 are always empty.&nb

Hi guys is there anyone out there who can assit me with this issue? I've been through the windows sound check test and it worked fine but when using it in the latest update of Audition, the light on the mic flashes red in colour and the audio recording playback is sped up 2 times! How can i get it to work on this gaming laptop?

I'm digitizing a bunch of old cassettes, and often I end up with two recordings of the same thing and I want to compare side-by-side to see which is better (sometimes they are very similar). In Multitrack, I can click Solo (or Mute) to hear just one, but to switch to the other I have to click Solo (or Mute) on both tracks, which I obviously can't do simultaneously. Is there a way to swap between two tracks with a single action, so that I can go back and forth without interruption while the timeline plays?

Running Windows 11, Audition build 23.6.1.3I can capture a Noise Print just fine.  But I can't see the Noise Reduction (process) window. It's nowhere to be found. I've restarted, rebooted, and reinstalled, but it simply doesn't work.Do I need to wipe all of my user preferences and start completely from scratch?  I hope not, cuz I have a lot of customization I've done to the workspace, addons, etc.Any help is much appreciated. 

Does anyone have experience of using Audition with a BMD UltraStudio HD Mini for video output? Premiere Pro works fine, as does Pro Tools... not having much luck with Audition. Thanks,

I have been continusely getting this same error message and now I have lost over 20 mins of recorded audio. The file visually appears to be there but the audio has gone! I did not save over the audio I simply closed the program and re started when I open it up and try and play the file there is nothing. An entire days work is now gone. 

Hello, recently I noticed that I no nlonger can record audio in Audition, the hardware is the same and and I have not changed any settings. I used to be able to record audio on this machine before.I noticed that the playhead and counter is studdering, it moves then stops, moves the stops and no audio is recorded. It doesn't matter if I use an USB mic or the computers internal mic.I have tried different setting but the problem is the same. Why is this happening? Is there an update on Windows 11 that causes this?  

The ProblemI'm attempting to map and record single inputs from my Rodecaster Pro II (multi-track source) in Adobe Audition. A few months back everything worked perfectly fine. I run a 3-person podcast and each person has their own mic and their own channel. Now, no matter the channel selected from my input source, it always records the same audio (the full mix of it). It's also not just the Rodecaster Pro II, I was also using an intermediary software that acted as a multi-track interface for other projects and that no longer works as expected. I've submitted a support request to Rode, but this seems like an Adobe issue and I need help fixing it. Is there some magic trick I've missed to make this work again? I just switched from audition 24 to audition 25.  Instead of a small white arrow, my pointer arrow is large, black, and attached to the 4-point move tool. It doesn't give me the same precision. It changes only when I hold down the ctrl key. How do I get it to stay a small white arrow?

All of a sudden I cannot Fade In or Out in Audition. Under Clip-->Fade In all of the options (No Fade, Fade In, Crossfade, etc) are grayed out. None of them are working. Likewise for Clip-->Fade Out, same problem. Currently running Audition Build 12.1.4.5. All of my Favorite Effects disappeared at the same time, but I will write up a 2nd post for that. Help!
