I am currently compiling audio CDR's of chart music new and old. I have been using Nero to burn the discs and have been using the Nero "Normalise" function. A problem I have come up against is where a particular track has no drumming for example which makes it quieter then the other tracks which have drumming the volume of the song without drummer gets booster to the point of distortion. In Adobe Audition CS6 which I have there is a function called "Match Volume", would this be better for me?
I don't know if any of this forum's regular posters attended the recent Tech Wednesday where Dave Richardson demonstrated some very cool tricks with Photoshop's Brush Symmetry, plus some 3D tips (or have listened to the recording)? One thing I noticed was the much better than average sound quality. Dave is a buddy, so I asked him about his audio, and it turns out that he uses a Corsair HS70 headset, but more interestingly from this forum's point of view, he fed it via Audition to add processing to improve the quality. This got me interested enough to watch some Mike Russell videos, with the disturbing outcome that I could barely hear the difference between the before and after. I'm 69 years old and a retired engineer, and I was exposed to a lot of loud noise over many years. (We were nowhere near as careful about ear protection in those days, so take note) I knew I don't hear much above... I'd better check — I can't hear anything above 10Khz&nb
I have an iMac, Retina 5K, 4,2 Ghz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4, 1TB SSD.Adobe Audition is running extremely slow. After each single click of the mouse (like moving the playhead, muting a track, starting and stopping playback or recording, anything) the spinning beach ball appears for at least 4-10 seconds. It is extremely hard to work, can anyone help me figure out what could be the reason? In Activity Monitor the Adobe Application Manager is eating up 99% of the CPU, but forcing it to quit didn't solve the problem in Audition. I'd be very grateful for any hint!
I do narration for e-Learning that I develop. After recording the audio I tweak and edit the files with Audition. With each file I apply each effect individually (DeEsser, Dynamics Processing, EQ, etc...).This gets tedious, and I was wondering if there is a way to set up a profile of all my preferred settings and apply them all at once to an audio file. That would improve my workflow. Thanks in advance for replies.
Hello Community,I have AA CS6. I was able to record computer sounds like skype on my 2nd Track. I use Audiobox USB to have my mic on track 1.Everything is the same with settings I think, however I am not getting AA to pick up sounds from skype.I have adjusted all settings on everything and still nothing. Not sure why now.Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
i was literally just listening to the file that I’ve had recorded for a while. Adobe crashed n when I restarted it all my custom saved presets for effects were missing. So opened that track to get the presets to resave them. Went back to the new track I was starting. Adobe wanted me to change the folder in while the temp file saves to because of storage so changed it to my e drive. And recorded no problem. When I went back to the other song the file is missing. The beat itself and the recordings are there but the green adobe audition audio file isn’t there. Please help to get this back. Not sure what’s going on if it’s because I moved some things from c drive to e drive or????
Hi, so recently, anything I have recorded seemed fine when I start. I edit it and everything is fine, but then if I save it or export it there is this haze over the recording. These are the same clip. I literally just saved and this is what happens afterword. Can someone please help me?
I was wondering if it's possible to achieve these effects with Adobe Audition CS6?the first effect is in this video between the 3:54 - 4:02 mark, and the second effect is between the 4:03 - 4:04 markthe audio without the first effect is at 0:49 - 0:56 in this video, and the second is at 0:57
Hi,I have an audition project with multiple clips on multiple tracks. When i go to move multiple clips at the same time they slightly go out of sunc/ jump as i move. This happens even when it is grouped together and still doesnt make any sense. I do not understand why it does this regardless, in what case is this even a practical option? To repeat... I have 2 tracks with over 40 clips across them. Everytime I make an edit and want to drag the rest of the clips together to close a gap the clips dont smoothly move together but jitter and oddly dont stay exactly how they were before i highlighted them and moved them. Also to combat this I tried looking for a nudge key to move all the clips by a keyframe each time but I cant seem to find one... much like in premier pro with nudging a video clip.
I have an oddly specific issue. My installation of Adobe Audition CC (build 11.1.1.3) on Windows 10 mostly behaves itself, but after I do a multitrack mixdown it becomes confused. When I try to play anything (the session or the mixed-down WAV file) after the mixdown, I get the error message, "Audition has detected a problem with the current audio hardware settings. The default output device is not responding and may be disconnect." (See below.) The weird thing is that nothing has changed. All I've done is mixed down a session. My audio hardware is a Focusrite USB 2.0 device and I'm using its ASIO driver. If I re-start Audition, it fixes the issue and that's what I've been doing for months, but it would be nice to avoid restarting after every mixdown. Thanks for any insight.Jeremy
Our normal work flow is to load up Audition with all the audio clips from a network share for the morning show a couple of hours prior to air. During this time we are able to access all the files and line them up and they all playback fine. When it's time to actually play the clip for the show there have been instances where when the operator hits play, instead of the proper audio being played, they hear digital static instead. I reinstalled the OS and replaced the audio card and still having this issue. We have begun moving the clips from the network share to the local computer and that's been working so far but it's strange that this has only begun happening. No changes have happened on the network infrastructure or the server recently. The issue only seams to happen when the files have been loaded onto Audition and idle for around an hour. I have opened a support request with the server vendor but curious if there may be something in Auditio
For the last two months, despite paying over $61CDN to use Adobe Audition, I keep getting messages to renew my subscription. When I contacted Customer Support previously, they said everything should be working and to wait till the next payment to see if the problem persists. That was in August. It's now September and I need the problem fixed ASAP.
Hello,I need to copy and paste the volume key frames from the bus tracks of a short film I'm working on. An OMF export of the Audition project will loose completely this informations... and the final mix will be done on ProTools. Thanks in advance for your help,Manuel (Paris, France)
Hey Guys,I have a built Windows 10 Computer with a 6-core i7 processor and a 4GB NVidia graphics card. I am a feature film sound editor. I'm trying to divide my mix into sub mixes for Dialogue and M+E tracks with the reels imported from Premiere Pro. The shoot was with RED Footage and Proxies. Every time I choose a plug in from the dropdown menu in the Sub mix, Audition Crashes and it doesn't even submit a crash report or anything at that. And I'm on deadline to get this done. I would try this in protools, but I'm short on time and I don't do a lot of sound designing in Pro Tools, though I should though. Is there any way to bypass this and get Audition working properly or should I do something else?
Hi!I'm currently trying to edit a 3 camera, 4 microphones (one + 3 on cameras) recording of a public event. The audio recording has numerous problems and is of very low quality. You can hear the tripods making noise, the cameramen whispering and the speaker kept walking in a 20-meter radius without being properly followed - so the recording is very, very inconsistent.I have 4 audio tracks in the Audition project and they're working all ok. Synced and all. Here's my question:Is there a way to nicely streamline the "participation" of individual microphones/tracks in this recording, so I don't have to create a bunch of keyframes or new clips 'cause of dozens and dozens of these smaller parts that need to be toned down in the audio?Thank you for your answers!
This is not a question rather a helpful "answer", if you like. I would like to share my experience with AA3 and Win10, a thing that all of us that use/want to use the AA3 under Win10 know is quite difficult. It all seems, for most times, be a special issue with RealTek sound cards. Don't kow if other vendors are affected too cause there's really hard to find a mainboard these days that do not have RealTek built in. I do not use the sound card but rather use top end external equipment for my work, mainly SoundDevices, so the quality of the sound card is of no concern to me.I have not tried this to the end, not tried all aspects or variant either, but perhaps this help someone that, like me, either do not want/can/can afford an account based newer version or simply want to use those aspects of AA3 that might not be found in the latest release, elsevere or something like that. For me it all started with Win7 and an upgrade to win10. No problems at all, or at least, small ones. AA3 continue
Hi thereI used to make mid-side files manually by duplicating my side channel, panning both and inverting phase. I thought I'd try and make my life easier by using the Stereo > Mid/Side Channel Mixer. But I can't see how I control the 'width' of my stereo image. I'm not used to Audition so forgive my ignorance, I've used a lot of other DAWs however. In the Multitrack view, I import my stereo channel, with Mid on L and Side on R... previously I'd have controlled stereo width by fading Side, but I can't get my head around how to do this in the Channel Mixer. Anyone? The point of using mid-side for me is that I can have this control after the recording.. if it's just preset I might have to resort back to my manual habits...
Hi all.I thought I'd try Izotope's Ozone plug-in to timbre-match two tracks recorded with different kinds of mics. Its matching function requires you to sample a section of the tracks you want to match, to profile their spectrum. I have the two tracks in a multitrack session, and the plug-in is applied to the clip I want to alter (the green one in the screen shot below).I figured I'd solo the "source" track and sample it, then switch to the "target" track and sample that. But no matter what I do, the plug-in seems to get all tracks at all times; even if they're all muted. There's clearly some kind of routing problem, but I haven't found a solution yet. Anyone have an idea? Thanks!
The zoom and transport buttons are SO small and there is so much space on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. I don't understand why there's no way to enlarge these buttons we use every second of editing. Very frustrating! The font is all very tiny, too, but that doesn't bother me as much as the buttons. Also wish you could organize the buttons. Like I never even use the vertical zoom buttons and wish I could get rid of them or at least move them all the way to the right, out of the way. Wish I could actually organize the buttons like Audition 1.5 where the zoom and transport buttons have two rows. Doubt I can do that.Help??
Am I losing it, or is this button with three horizontal bars supposed to be a dropdown that lets me switch between either open sessions (in Multitrack mode) or open waveforms (Waveform editor mode). When I click on it, nothing happens.I really don't want to have to reinstall the program (Adobe Audition CC 2018) because I'm in the middle of a project, but this is a huge PITA.
Hello folks, how I can set default variables on the ID3 Tags on Audition? In another words, for example, copyrights, producer, things like that, that willnever change, to be set by default.Thannks.
Hi all.I thought I'd try using the frequency-analysis function to EQ two recordings of the same sounds. But the display is baffling in that it doesn't tell you which channel is depicted by each trace on the graph. Am I just overlooking it?The colors of the audio tracks aren't even represented in the frequency display, nor is there any legend to tell you which is which.
So I'm not to impressed as a septuagenarian about having to go back to school to learn about CC when I have been using Audition since it was Cool Edit Pro and then Soundbooth.I had my CS6 set up the way I liked with a nice big Time window so I could see the digits. So why, when I am trying to recreate a workspace I like is the font in the time window much smaller for a given panel size than its equivalent in CC?When I open CS6 and CC side by side on my monitor and scale the panels to the same size the CC font is half the size of the CS6 one. I don't want to waste screen area just making the panel bigger so I can see the numbers better, so if anyone can tell me how to increase the font size without sizing up the time panel I would be very grateful.I'm all for improving things that need improving but in CC I get the feeling that Adobe has changed everything solely to justify their move to a subscription basis.I'm wondering If I have the years left to relearn AuditionAnne
I can make Audition (CC2018) crash by doing the following; Start a multitrack project that has enough tracks to require L>R scrolling in your Mixer panel (this should be about 13-14 tracks, depending on your settings).Scroll to any channel that was off the right of the panel, for example, Track 14.Try to add a Parametric EQ in the channel strip of this track (any effect with seems to do this, but the EQ is our most commonly used)This causes Audition to crash on multiple workstations that we try it on, and a personal laptop. All workstations are running up-to-date versions of Windows10, and there are several different GPUs this has been tested on.Can you make Au crash by doing the above? I would love to know yes/no, and hopefully Adobe can fix. Thanks!
Hi, I’ve just recently started a production class at school and have begun working on an assignment. I did a few things wrong and my professor told me I would need to “re-record“ something to get the levels correct but it was something I pulled from online and he knows that since it was a song clip. How can I record this? What does he mean? I had already asked him too many questions and asked for too much help. I didn’t want to be a bother. Thank you.
