Audition

Every time I try to open an mp4 file in audition, it won't work. It'll just stop responding and eventually close and ask to send a crash report. What do i do?

Hi all,I have a question about editing either channel in a single audio track. I know how to separate the channels, and how to edit them, but I have noticed that the master track doesnt change after editing. Am I missing a step?Thanks

So I've been looking through the forums, and I'm wondering if this is still a known bug? I'm working on a documentary project with about 60 tracks. I'm freezing each track when I'm done with it, but every time I forget to freeze a track with a multiband compressor on it and add a new MBC, I crash. So this should be the simplest of tasks but it's proving to be a real PITA. I want to have a script that selects EXACTLY 30 seconds from the beginning of a file and then trims it, so I'm left with a 30 second clip (I'm working on a music bingo game) I opened a file, started to record an action, selected from 0 to 30 seconds, then trimmed. Stopped the action. I closed the file without saving and reopened. Ran the action and it worked perfectly. GREAT. Open another file and run the action and I get a 27 second clip...what? Open another file and run it and I get a 35 second clip....huh?I look at the action and the selection does not appear to be referencing milliseconds (that'd make too much sense) I cannot seem to select EXACTLY 30 seconds of the beginning of any file automatically.what am I missing? Any ideas?

So, I have been setting up a cheap macro pad with HID macros. I want to set a button to take a Noise Print of the current selection, then select the entire audio file, then perform a Noise Reduction. I want to set this process of Noise Print, select all, Noise Reduction to a favorite so I can add a keyboard shortcut to the entire process. From there I would tell HID macros to run that keyboard shortcut from one button. I was wondering if it is possible to take a Noise Print of the current selection, then select the entire file, then perform a Noise Reduction. I have tried just recording a favorite as I would with anything else; however, it doesn't seem to be working, it reduces the current selection. Which means it is not selecting the entire file and when I look in the actions of the favorite, it never says it is capturing a Noise Print. Thank You.

Hi, I am recording voiceover and I seem to have an issue with gain. There seems to be a low hum or hiss in the background of my recording. You can clearly hear my voice but that is not professional quality. Does it have something to do with gain? How do I fix that? So I am running Audition from creative cloud on my Windows Laptop. I have Audition CC 2017 latest update, Using a Neewer mic powered with the Scarlett Focusrite Solo 2nd gen. I've been getting the "MME internal error" message when i set the Focusrite as the Audio input device. And I've clicked the record button a thousand times and it WILL NOT record. I've been attempting it in "Wavelength" but i haven't tried  "Multitrack" yet, it confuses me. Someone pretty please help me.

Posted this in the Premiere forum, got no response, so trying here.  It's Premiere, but audio-specific.Adding some "lowpass" audio filter to some sounds I'm working on. And whatever I set the cutoff to, or even if I don't touch the parameters, the filter automatically drops the cutoff to the lowest possible setting.What gives? How do I get it to leave the cutoff alone unless I actively change it? Any suggestions?It was working correctly until mid-day yesterday.  And I already uninstalled and re-installed. It's like a malicious gremlin resets it to lowest setting the instant I touch any other clip.

Hello how to export all track sessions to another program spelled the same way and it was at the same time each path as in adobe.I would like to send recorded vocals to the manufacturer and do not know how to save, to have everything at the same time as I, after activating my project in another program.

Greetings.I've used Audition for a few years (I promise!) in compliment to Premiere Pro. Unlike my typical video projects, however, I now have a small job editing VO for a video game. Many of the wav files I've been given are one or two words and only a second or two in length, unlike my typical working file lasting minutes.I'm almost embarrassed to ask what is probably very basic knowledge to most of you, but here goes:1. How does one get any sound out of such short clips? I have to turn "loop" on before I hear anything (after 2 or three cycles). I have the sound files on an SSD, plenty of RAM, an overclocked i7 7700k chip, etc, yet cannot get a wav file of one second in duration to consistently play. I suppose I could splice in some dead space to extend the length of the clip, then cut it once through editing. But to do that dozens of times is going to be more than a little frustrating.2. Referencing said one second clip, how does one keep the playhead from traveling beyond clip leng

I love the option to individually colour surround channels when viewing them in the waveform editor mode.However, I can't seem to find a way to configure which colour I'd like mapped to each channel.  For example, in a 5.1 setup, it's arranged this way:L = Green, R = Blue, C = Orange, LFE = Pink, Ls = Purple, Rs = CyanIf, for example, I wanted to change the center channel colour to Yellow...is this configurable -- or are these set this way without any ability to configure?If we're not able to configure them, can this be added as a feature request?

I am having playback issues. Audition won't play anything.  Even when I change the "world clock" settings.  Any ideas? 

Can someone tell me why I get this when saving a session that uses files that aren't in the same directory as the sesx file? Files are being duplicated unnecessarily!And more importantly, how I can I stop Audition CC from doing this?

I get a "bad Image" error message when trying to open Adobe Audition 3.0.  (I am not tech savvy, need all the help I can get.)  Message says "AMESettingsUI.dill is either not designed to run on Windows [it has run fine until now] or it contains an error [more likely]...  Try installing the program again using the original installation media [which I have never had since I downloaded it directly from adobe online.].  Error status  0xc000012f."As far as I can tell, I can either try fixing the bad file or reinstalling the software (if I can find a copy).  How should I proceed?

As usual, having trouble with updates and Adobe is not helpful.  I use a native version of Audition CS6 as I use this program away from the internet, so Creative Cloud is useless to me.  Trying to update Audition and it only wants to install Creative Cloud and not do the update the native version.  Help.

Hello!Just the other day I started working at adobe audition cc and immediately ran into a problem - I can not adjust the noise reduction. Everything is in the screenshot. It gives an error, Due to lack of experience, it is impossible to solve this problem. I would be very grateful if anyone could help..

When recording some radio spots recently, I noticed that I have no problem recording one, then mixing then going back to the waveform file,  I start to record spot 2 behind it but get no waveform printing on the screen. I have to open a new sound file to continue. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hey all, this will be my first post here, hello!I have done some searches on the VoCo project that Adobe showed a few years ago but cannot find a lot of updates. It seems like most everything I have found looks to point to the direction that the project is not set for inclusion in any Adobe products any time soon which is a shame, but understandable as to why it might not be included considering the incredible power that is wields. I am an artist that is working on an experimental film that the VoCo project/process seems absolutely perfect for. Rather than to use it to recreate another humans voice in the sense of mimicry, I want to use it in an experimental way (that I can talk further about if you all are at all interested). I am curious if there is any good avenue for connecting with the staff at Adobe to see if there is a way for me to use the project? Or to at the very least start a dialog with someone to explain why I see it as a great fit for what I am doing. I would love to lea

I have both Premiere Pro CC 2018 and CS6 on my computer, which I keep because I have several old projects I want to be able to open with their obsolete effects.I've just installed Audition, and when I try to export to Premiere Pro, it opens CS6. I looked around in preferences and did not manage to find a way to change this so it will open the film in CC 2018.Thanks for your assistance.

It never did this before.  I can record in other audio software on my PC with no hiss/no trouble.  It's just doing it on AA.  Levels are all set well.Any suggestions?

Hi everyone.I have an android video taken of my father in law singing along to a song.  He has just passed away 2 days after Christmas. I'm trying to either remove the song, or the vocals, or just lower the volume of the song and enhance my father in laws (Ron) voice.If anyone could tell me if it's possible and if it is,  guide me through the process I would be eternally grateful.I want to clean it up the best I can for my mom in law, thanks.

HiI am a long-time Pro Tools user now trying to learn Audition CC.  I use a MixPre-3 as an external audio device, with very good quality microphones; it connects to my MacBook Air via USB.  I'd like to be able to record live from the mics through the MixPre, directly into Audition, but can't figure out what I need to do in Audition to get it to recognize the MixPre.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.Thanks very much.

Hi there,I normally use Audition to record my stuff with and making markers, but this time I used the Zoom Livetrak L-12 also with markings.However I'm experiencing some troubles when using markers, I'm currently recording some ensemble work, and marking between every take instead of starting a new track. When opening wavefiles in Audtition I can't see my markers. I've seen some posts in here with some of the same problems with previous versions of both audition and zoom recorders. Could there be a possibility to extract the markers and use them anyway?Thanks
