Audition

I have installed the Reverberate plug-in.  It works pretty well to eliminate reverb -- I am using presets because I'm not sure how to set it manually.  In any case, when I apply it seems to randomly cut off some words -- I'm doing spoken audio.  Does anyone know why this happens?  Also, does anyone have other suggestions about how to eliminate reverb. I have noticed recently (past two months after new CC rollout (build 10.0.2.27), that my keyboard shortcuts start to disappear.  And I mean the regular shortcuts, like "Ctrl-A" and "Ctrl-C".  I've had to go back into keyboard preferences and re-enable them.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I'm running the iMac edition on Sierra version 10.12.3.  I've got plenty of RAM and disk space and cache.

Adobe Audition has always been a useful app for sound editing, but here is a problem I have with the program.I was using the programme and the programme mysteriously stopped. I then closed it with Windows task manager. After that, when I tried to open the program again, it did not even pop up anything on the screen. But when I opened the task manager, it said it was working in the background. Now I can't use the program and I really need some help here since I need it to finish my project...Please Help,KT

Hi Guys,  I'm running into an issue on the latest Audition CC 2017 on multiple computers. When I have a large file with 13+ tracks in it playback starts to take 5-7 seconds to start. (i.e. I press play to listen to the file, says "calculating playback" in the lower left corner, then 5-7 later it starts). I've tried increasing the buffer size of the ASIO driver, enabling optimal performance in Windows, with and without reverb.I've tried the file on several computers and it does the same thing. All three computers have 8GB+ of RAM, either an i5 or quad-Xenon processor, and run either Windows 7 or 10. When I check the system performance monitor it does not seem to be stressing the CPU or RAM much at all. We didn't have this problem with Pro Tools which we were planning on switching from but if Audition can't handle large files we may have to use that instead.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you!

Can someone please point me to a tutorial, or guide me through the steps for how to select two separate tracks (or mono files) and display their frequency analysis simultaneously so that I can compare them? Thanks very much.

In later versions of audition I was able to play the sound and make some changes to it, insert silence, before and after playhead, now if I make a selection the play start from where i put the mouse on and it loopplay the selection, i want my playback to cotinue form where i left it

Hey guys,I work for a university's athletic department doing sports broadcasting, as during the games I will always record the audio using a Scarlett 2i2 USB to send audio from the mixer to my computer. Never had any issues with it on my laptop, but recently switched to using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4.On two separate occasions when recording a game on the Surface, the recording, which is normally around 2-3 hours long per game, will render at only an hour and be sped up and a little scratchy. Bit rate and sample rate all the same as when I used my laptop.Is there something I'm missing here?Thanks for any help.-JT

In an effort to curtail freezing due to RAM usage, I have set "RAM available for (misc Adobe applications)" to 2 GB (leaving more than enough headroom for background applications/processes). However, when loading a large .sesx file (34 MB, 24 tracks), Audition's RAM usage exceeds this value up to two-fold, using the same amount as it did before I set it. Restarting the program doesn't help. I'm sure this amount of memory usage is a given for the size of the session, but it worries me that AA pays no heed whatsoever to the memory preferences.I am using Windows 7 on a laptop with 5.9 GB of RAM.Thank you!

Greetings all!  Forum newbie but long-time Adobe Premier user here. Running CC 2017 on a Mac Pro.  I'm feeling the need to learn Adobe Audition to improve the audio of our film productions and I would sure appreciate making use of a moderately priced control surface.  I know you can mouse click everything, but feel more "connected" when using peripherals.Would anyone be willing to share what control surfaces they use?  Info on this has been hard for me to find.Lee

I've just spent three days editing two separate radio stories, and when I attempted to export the second one, Audition made me restart. Even though I've been saving the timelines religiously every 10 minutes or so since I started, when I reopened them, one was blank, and the other had reverted to a version containing only a few raw clips. I'm freaking out! Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is this possibly an issue with the new version of Audition (which I updated to 7 days ago) or with my computer? I've just lost a ton of work and am afraid to repeat the process only to have it happen again while I'm on deadline.

I have specific presets and workspaces for previous versions of Audition and have no idea where to put them now.Plus, Audition used to come with some default presets, e.g. for Noise Reduction, etc. I got nothing now. I did a clean install of El Capitan, then installed CC. Three days later, v2017 came out. So existing presets hadn't yet been installed on my hard drive.I did manage to scan for plug-ins—that seemed to work.I do have the presets and workspaces saved on an external drive...where do I put them now to make sure Audition sees them?Thanks in advance...I've asked this question before with regards to several CC applications. It was never answered, and some staff member moved it to the Premiere Pro forum, even though I specifically posted in the CC forum because it concerned several of the CC programs.This is just for Audition...please help!

I have 5+ computers which have all been upgraded from cc2015 to cc17, we use the Noise reduction quite a bit as we have noisy studios. Noise reduction does not work from right clicking capture noise print, nor if you click capture noise print from the drop down. The only way it works (only on a handful of computers) is to capture in the dialog box and then applying.  This has happened to once I upgraded to CC2017. All computers are windows 7 some are windows 10. A few of the computers still has a older version 2015.2 still running and the Noise Reduction still works but not on 2017. All computers are set to be 44.1kz recording and playbackThanks

Having trouble with audition taking up huge amounts of space on my system drive.  Files are being stored in "my documents" alongside project files despite me setting all cache preferences to the storage drive.  I only have 128 gb of SSD to play with for my system, and the 15gb of wav files is causing my system to lag.Read through all settings and searched high and low, no results yet.  Hope this is a simple fix I am overlooking, please let me know

For a recent project, I have two audio channels, one recorded directly from a mixer and one mic recording the audience. The audience mic picked up a lot of the audio from the speaker that the mixer was connected to, making it hard to make the audience audible without bringing up a terrible echo. I've used the sound removal tool before and found it extremely helpful, but it requires audio that is less than 100 seconds, and the track is an hour long. Is there any way I can use the track from the mixer as a reference to reduce the echo in the room? Thanks!

This is my first session mixing with Adobe Audition CC 2017. I have a dual core processor and 8 gigs of RAM. I'm mixing scenes for a play, I just finished with the first scene, (which is considerably less resource intensive as some other scenes).I applied most of my EQ and compression individually to the files in wave form and mixed them down. But I do have two voices with reverb on them, and several other effects. Some of the tracks are stereo but most are mono and I have two bus tracks.When I mixed down, I try both Save As, as well as Export mixdown session and either way they just produce staticy silence. I've tried mixing to both 44.1 and 48k and also to 24 bit and 32 bit, always with the same result.I'm very concerned because this is my first session and its not even all that complicated of an effect chain.Is there somewhere I can go to go learn how to mix down properly? I had a much easier time with the old software I used, Mixcraft, mixing down files. I just spent hours and hour

I'm new to Audition and I spent a few hours looking at the tutorials. I don't see a suggested workflow. I'm a reporter for newspapers and magazines and I've been asked to turn the audio from some man-on-the street interviews into a 2-3 minute audio segment. I have about half a dozen audio files, each about 10 minutes, and I'd like to pull a few 10-30 second clips from those source audio.  In Premier, I got up and running fairly quickly using Adobe's online documentation and online videos. I'm a little surprised that I can't seem to figure out a smart way to organize all of this information. Any suggested resources?

Im having a terrible time trying to understand how to move the location of my media cache folders. I just installed Audition and havent attempted a move yet in fear of messing something up. Can someone help or point me to some help?

Anyone try to open an OMF in Audition, only to get a window pop up that says "Reading Windows Media Foundation" and that it's going to take over 100 hours?Is it the OMF causing this?  I've never seen this before, have no idea what it is.

I just got a 2016 MacBook Pro running Sierra 10.12.3. CS6 Audition is giving me trouble in multitrack mode when I try to drag sounds around the timeline. I try to drag to certain positions and it just won't go. It's like snapping, but snapping is turned off (and it's not snapping to any logical place). I can usually make the edit I want by zooming in a whole lot, but it's time consuming and I make hundreds of these edits a day. Anybody had this kind of trouble?
