I purchased Susbtance Painter 2 some years ago via Steam. I recently redownloaded the program to do some personal work only to find that it crashes before launching over and over again. Is this intentional? I would hate to hear that a product that I purchased is being forceably made obsolete. This wouldn't be the first time that this has happened with products via steam so just looking for any assistance.
What am I missing ? I dropped sbsar floodfill3 and it definitly there but I can't find it in assets panel ? Why I can find it in resource update window but can't in assets panel? Shouldn't it be saved together with project file?
Every time I try to import my material I get this error: "[EngineProcedural] Failed to decode Substance.resource://session/Hair_Vector_Map/Hair_Vector_Map?version=688a4474f58c00e71c8d0b5f0ce3052f0f6e7806.sbsar" What am I doing wrong here that it wont work properly?
Hi, I tried using substance painter after several months and the software keeps crashing on launch. The launch screen appears for 2-3 seconds and then disappears away. I've tried all the fixes posted in the old articles, nothing has worked for me. I've tried reinstalling the application and tried using the older versions as well but the same problem persists. Can I please get some fix for this please?
I've been having a recent issue with my substance painter (2022 steam edition) it has started to just not bake properly, I have checked uvs, uv sets, udim settings and everything else, I sent the fbx to two other people and they baked it just fine without issue. i have tried clearing cache, reinstalling, completely wiping all associated files from my PC and doing a clean install and tried changing from 8.3 to 8.2 with zero change.
I'm using 3D Painter 2022 (Steam / Windows). When trying to export the project mesh (I need it because I used the auto-unwrap feature), the app freezes and closes as soon as it opens the explorer window to choose the export location.I used this feature before without any problems, so maybe something in the latest updates?
Hi, I'm experiencing an issue that occurs with every Adobe product I use. When I turn off my monitor and then maximize Painter, Designer, or Sampler, the viewport gets shrunk and doesn't return to full window mode. I have to exit the application and open it again to resolve this issue. It has been happening for ages.

Hello, I'm quite new to Substance Painter, so please let me know if there are different settings I should use. I have modelled a packaging in Artios, and I exported the 3d into a DAE Collada file When starting a new file in Substance Painter I get the same messages and it won't open my model. [Scene 3D] Collada: file:ENDGAME.DAE - Expected attribute "name" for element <material>.[Scene 3D] Failed to load 3D scene. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
I'm using a Mac with an M1 Max chip and MacOS Sonoma Version 14.1.2 Substance Painter and Designer open a blank white window, and if I close this window Painter and Designer will crash. This happens almost immediately after opening Painter, and when I add 3D noise materials in Designer. Is it possible to even use these programs reliably on an M1 Mac?
Hey, so I'm trying to use my college's student plan to gain accesss to Substance Painter, but I'm having trouble getting it to work.My administrator/college's tech team has told me that I've been given access to Substance Painter upon me requesting access, but the app is still stuck with needing to request access.The tech team couldn't solve my problem after taking a look at my screen, so they told me to contact Adobe Support, but I've been having trouble getting in contact with them. I've tried calling and managed to get a hold on someone for a brief moment before they went completely silent just after introducing themself, and the other times I would need to wait. Our team is running into a problem in which if we create Smart Materials that contains Paths and/or Warp Projections and apply that Smart Material to the same Texture Set, but have subsequently added a new Texture Set to the fbx prior to applying the Smart Material, the existing Paths/Warp Projections within the Smart Material are scaled incorrectly in relation to the updated geometry. For example the paths look like they're scaled up 10 times the original size. Steps:1. Texture_Set_A containing paths or warp projections, create a Smart Material. 2. Import a new fbx with the original Texture_Set_A, but add a Texture_Set_B to the project. 3. Apply the smart material made from the previous Texture_Set_A containing paths/warp projections to the updated Texture_Set_A (which now also includes the Texture_Set_B addition).4. Results in paths/warp projections no longer matching the scale or world space position of the original Texture_Set_A I have double and tri
Adobe, Allegorithmic team, please pay close attention to this bug in the program and make a solution!I often use the "Height To Normal" filter in my work and now I noticed a very nasty bug.There are 2 layers, each isolated its own group, so that one layer would not affect the other in any way. But when I put a display flag on one layer, I can clearly see how the intensity of the other layer decreases. Although they cannot influence each other in any way. This seems to be there on purpose but it has been annoying me since the beginning of Painter. Why isn't it possible to export textures to multiple .psd files, just like exporting .tga files? The exporter will always ignore the export preset and will just export only one .psd file with a bunch of layers. Why would that be useful? At first I thought this must be a bug, and nobody cared to fix it. But it is even noted under the exported maps:This makes no sense to me. Please make this setting optional. I would prefer to have the choice of using .psd files like any other fileformat.
I just applied for free Substance 3D Collection Apps (for Education) with this account but It says Link has been generated, but failed to send email.After I refreshed site and retried it with same email, It tells me "Unique ID Already Exists". What should I do?
The Render Settings UI palette can effect the final renders appearance if docked to the right side.I imported a camera from Maya with my model. In Iray/Renderer, I set up all the display settings and render settings needed and resolution I wanted. I then render from my maya camera with the default UI palette setup. On a new render, with the same camera and all the same settings and the same model, i render again, but this time i have the Render Setting palette docked to the right side. The render should be identical, but instead the object appears smaller as though the camera moved back. I was able to repeat this with different cameras and models consistently.
I am having an issue with hard edges when I have my normal map loaded into a layer. The exact same normal map (baked in SP) looks perfect when loaded in as a mesh map. But when loading it into the normal channel of a layer (with normal mixing changed to replace, and the blend mode set to normal), it displays with hard edges along UV seams.I have triple checked everything is setup correctly regarding directX/openGL normal settings and the problem is still visible after exporting the normal map too.
Can there be a button that forces substance to not delete all your layers when you update your geometry with geo that has different uvs ? Im not sure why anyone would want it do delete all your work when you update your geometry. It seems like one of the worst things about this program. It dosnt make any sense why this is a thing.
Can someone please help? For EVERY PROJECT I work on midway through the program stops saving. When I try to use "save as" as an alternative nothing happens and I am forced to quit the application (without any saving anything) and literally re-start or go back to the last point it saved. I absolutely love Substance painter, even before Adobe purchased the program. But it's getting more and more difficult to use it because i cannot save any of my work! All of my programs are up-to-date and i'm so tired of having to delete substance and re-download. Nothing I do works! Does anyone have an tricks or shortcuts they use for this problem? Can anyone help me figure out this issue? In desperate need to find a solution, otherwise i'll have to find another program.
For some reason, my render view is not showing color anymore. It just started happening. I reinstalled the program removed all the settings but it still wont render the color. Help on what I am missing? Thanks,

I am a user of Substance 3D Painter and I have encountered a problem while using the software. I would greatly appreciate your assistance and guidance in resolving this issue. Problem Description: Whenever I use the color selection tool, I have noticed a significant slowdown in the performance of Substance 3D Painter. This issue is not only limited to myself but also experienced by some of my friends who are using Windows computers. I have already tried several troubleshooting methods, including adjusting settings, ensuring sufficient system resources, and clearing disk space. However, none of these solutions have resolved the problem. I am currently using Substance 3D Painter version 9.1.0.( Version 8.3.1 also has same problem.) My Windows Specifications : The Problem :
why is my 128gb AMD 32 core 4090 PC running SP so slow in the viewport, a small 3d model thanks for any ideas.
I just got Subtance Pianter , but either it dosent load or crashes right away. Other programs are running smoothly. Maya, Blender zbrush, but substance just crahses and its getting annoying i have projects i need to complete. Using Wacom 24 pro
Hello I don't know if this is a bug or not but I want to ask on this. So I make a change to project configuration as just had to fix up one small island i mean everything is fine but when I go to put it in, it has it where it deletes all the data on my mask as in the selection parts I have and to add these aren't the island I move or so. To add some still stay in. Is this something it normal does as in delete the mask data so it black or white again or is this something else.
