Hi I have two metallic maps that I want to export out of Substance Painter.  Below are three maps the first map is the metallic map of a door and the white specs are nails. So this map is working as it should. The second map (when exported) is totally black however the screenshot below clearly shows that there are areas of metal in the map but when I export it, unlike the door that shows the metal nails the second map only exports as having no metal in the model when it does. What am I doing wrong?   

As the subject says: when I go to File>New and bring up the dialogue to begin a new project, then click to get the obj I wish to texture on, as soon as it opens the explorer window, the whole program crashes. This has rendered Substance Painter unusable for me at the moment, and that is BAD considering I need it for my job. HELP!!!!BTW: reopened the program to export a log which is attached

Hi, I've made a low and high-poly version of a model. I'm trying to bake the detail onto the low poly model, but when baking in Substance nothing changes on the model and it stays the same. I've been trying to resolve this for hours and have not found anyone with the same problem. HelloIn Adobe Substance 3D Painter software, when I create a new paint layer and make changes in the Material section, those changes are applied to all existing paint layers.Is there a way to prevent this situation so that a change in one paint layer does not change the settings and materials of the other paint layers?Version of the app : 9.0.0.2Platform and OS version :  Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5029263)

Hi! I have run into a problem with the program. I was using it as usual yesterday when it just suddenly crashed on me. Now when I try to start, I get the start-up screen (See picture below), and then nothing, crashes instantly. I have tried these things mentioned here Crash or freeze during startup Does anybody have a solution for this?? Best regards! 

Whenever i use the polygon fill tool in substance painter in either 3D OR 2D views, my entire pc locks up and i have to reboot my system with a cold shutdown,I have:Updated my driversUsed DDUTurned off Sparse Virtual TexturingRe-installed Substance Painter twice, one with my data kept and one without.Specs areAMD Radeon 6700xtRyzen 5600x16GB Corsair Ramon driver version 23.9.2none of these have fixed the issue, i have even done a drive scan for corrupted files

Hi I'm a student in university and i'm trying to put a request for the substance painter program but when i'm filling in my Adobe ID/Email i keep getting an error message telling me my UniqueID already exists and that i need to correct errors before submitting the form which is odd as I'm using my account emailis there any way to solver this?

Hey guys!  Im trying to use my pen display inside ADOBE software and for substance painter and photoshop to work i need to have Windows ink on. If i have it on strokes will lag and the software doesnt recognize pressure sensitivity. If I turn it off it works fine but pressure is not there. I already talked to HUION but they take ages to answer each message so i figured it doesnt harm to ask here too!  Would love some help now that i live from doing 3d models 😞

I just bought the bundle yesterday. Exe wouldn't run for any of the related products (Md, Sa, Ds), saw online that restarting my PC could help, so new day, still won't run. I tried a few things for force opening exe files, still nothing. So clearly something is wrong on Adobe's side. I've had the adobe cc before and photoshop, after effects, and premiere pro all downloaded no problem.  I need to solve the problem within the 14 day return window in case I need to get  a refund. I don't want to pay for a product that won't function

Hi all, my problem is as described in the title. I could use the Rendering mode just fine 2 months prior, but now 2 seconds after entering it, my entire laptop shuts down abruptly, When reopened, the Substance file becomes corrupted with only the file name being saved and nothing else. I cannot figure out what the problem may be so here are a list of my setup & specs that might be helpful:1. I have a second Dell monitor HDMI port and a portable hard drive connected2. intel core i7 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 20803. up to date NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLB1T0 drive4. Hello! I have strange problem when exporting 8k textures from Substance.On normal you can see strange checker, can't to understand how to fix it (1).But, in viewport (4k) everything is okay, when exporting 4k textures (2,3) - everything is okay. Before this problem was on all textures - base color, ao and etc. Now only on normal. Baked this texture on 2070 and rtx 4080, nothing changed. Also baked png format and tga - nothing changed.1.2.3.

Hi, I'm trying to reinstall Substance Painter after it got deleted from having to wipe my computer. I initially downloaded the student-free version with my college license access. I cannot get this access again after it was uninstalled. How can I fix this? I really need it for my college work. Thanks

The program itself shuts down when you import files such as OBJ and FBX after the 9.1 Steam version patch.For version 8 (beta) provided by Steam, we have confirmed that it works properly.I'd like you to provide me with the option to downgrade version 9.0. 

Hello, I can't figure out how to fix this. My Painter template files always (for at least the last year) start out using a depreciated shader, "pbr-metal-rough (Outdated)". This shader is bugged and does not work properly, so I always have to manually switch to a different shader and then choose pbr-metal-rough again to force Painter to use the correct shader. I can't seem to get my templates to use the correct pbr-metal-rough shader by default, even if I save a template to use a different shader entirely it always starts out with the Outdated pbr shader. My shaders load slowly so each time I work in a project I have to remember the shader is bugged, wait several minutes for the shaders to load, and then pick another shader and back to the pbr shader to correct it. How can I force Painter to recognize the updated pbr-metal-rough shader? Should I reinstall entirely? Documentation seems to indicate these defaults are updated with each Painter update so I'm not sure if manually

Hey,I have constant crashes when i reimport the mesh, no errors, SP just hangs halfway thru, and then goes unresponsive. . Ive tried several drivers without luck, the scene im loading is a full plane exterior, its not too crazy on polys, renders perfectly well in blender and MSFS. I have tweaked the time out delays on the GPU to give it more time before windows kills the GPU, but that didnt help either. Im stuck, i dont know if its a GPU issue, CPU, RAM, no clue. Specs are pretty standard and should easily handle the scene (6950XT 16Gb, 32RAM, Ryzen 7 3800x, SSDs, about a billion Gigs of temp size allocated to SP only on an SSD...) Scene is about 6 materials and 113K vertices for the lot.Tried importing a version that leaves out 50 or so objects and their shared 2-3 materials, still crashes. Latest pro AMD driver, no good, latest game ready driver, no good eitherAttached is the log up until the crash, cant really find anything too useful in it Thanks for the help

G'day,I'm new to using Substance Painter - but I've been dropping decals as an alpha just fine so far.Today I've done exactly as I've done previously - but I don't have any Gizmo controls in the viewport.Currently I'm dropping decals onto the UV map which is a pretty painful process.Does anyone have any suggestions?

hello, i downloaded free trial of substance painter on macos and i found that the majority of shaders are pinkish, what's the solution please?

I'm using the UDIM workflow, I'm baking normals and other maps from a highpoly. They result correct when visualizing the channel Normal+Height+Mesh, they also work fine when exported, but they don't work in the viewport. It shows them as low resolution impeding a lot of the visual workflow, and when trying to use them in a fill layer I get the same low res results and these 'Failed to decode bitmap' errors keep appearing in the log. I'm attaching two screenshots. Seems like it's unable to read the entire texture/mips.PS: I tried deleting the cache, and rebooting, to no avail. I also discovered I can reproduce the same issue on a completely different machine.PS2: I'm on the latest version. 9.0.1 build 2822

I got back to texturing in Painter after a couple of months and while adjusting sliders and texturing, my graphics card crashes, my mouse won't move, everything turns white. Why is this happening? There's always a problem with Adobe products and I mean it. Instead of spending time working in Photoshop, I had to read entire discussions in forums to see why your apps are buggy. I always try to be polite, but it's just not acceptable.Btw, this never happened to me in any other software programs, so please don't come here and tell me my computer is the issue or some other things that are not related.Graphics card : AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT  Later editTo make matters worse, every time this crash takes place, it messes up my layers and although the file was saved I have to redo the whole work all over again. Painter creates these weird masks and artifacts in my Fill Layers and the only option for me is to delete everything and start from the beginning.

Can't paint on anything, I can place fill layers and the uv map on the right is below the square it should be in Im using steam to run this

In production we consntantly have to revise our characters and meshes based on feedback from art directors, management and legal.Every time we have to make a mesh change it breaks all our hand painted masks.  Even if we dont change the position of the mesh and just add an extra small piece of geometry like a pouch or button to the mesh.  It often breaks masks in texture sets on parts of the mesh that were in no way changed at all.  Sometimes importing in exactly the same mesh breaks the masks.We often have to recreate all the masks again when we update our mesh, wasting a massive amount of time, or we need to export out all our textures and make a new painter file with flattened textures, breaking the whole "non destructive workflow".Being able to iterate on both the mesh and the textures is an important part of a production pipeline.How can we do this in Substance Painter?

Hi, I was trying out the new path tool yesterday and it was working fine (each vertex was individually editable), except that sometimes clicking on the pen icon wouldn't allow the path tool context menu to appear. If I restart Substance painter, the pen will work for a while before it stops (switching between paint brush, polygon tool and back seems to trigger the issue). I decided to look for updates and updated Substance painter to the latest build. Now, the vertices all change along the path and not just the ones I've selected. Still having the issue with the pen context menu not being accessable as well. Not sure what the issue is, but I also didn't see another topic open on it. Thanks,

Greetings. I noticed two problems with Painter (v9/9.0.1) and wanted to report them.When I use Irai despite having GPU render selected, it occasionally uses CPU instead. It seems to fix itself momentarily sometimes by saving the project or restarting the program.Second thing, when I isolate a texture set with the alt and click shortcut, when I reactivate all the sets, with the alt plus click shortcut, the program crashes.I attach the log of the latter.Bye
