Hi, I'm using the "stitches straight" brush on the paint along path tool. I love the tool, but I'm having trouble with the stitches showing up with inconsistent lenghts , and it looks bad. In another part of my garment, I was able to fix this issue by upping the stamp cycle count, but in the case of the screen shot I've attached, no matter what settings I adjusted, nothing helped.
Hello, I have a script that is run on startup, it loads a project file, then is supposed to reload the mesh etcThe reloading of the mesh is done by calling a seperate script, and via project.reload_mesh(path,settings,callback) I am using the callback to delay proceeding with the script until it has been rebaked fully.When I load this script directly via the python drop down, this callback works flawlessly - however, when I call the same script via my startup scipt, the callback is instantaneous, and does not wait for the bake to finish. Is there a reason for the difference in behaviour? And is there a workaround for this please? Thank you! Graeme
I'm getting constant crashes while using the new 3D Paths tool. Mostly while I'm just moving my mouse up towards the top bar to adjust the brush size, but I usually don't make it that far. Basically it crashes unpredictably, at any time, but ONLY when using 3D Paths. I'm using the Steam version, and my PC is practically brand new:AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX 32-Cores 3.60 GHz128 GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 TiWindows 10 Enterprise 64-bitUsually the only other big programs I have open at the same time are Blender and Opera GX. This is driving me mad, because otherwise this is a GREAT feature! Any ideas?
My Adobe Substance Painter is V9 and my Graphic Card is NVIDIA GEFORCE 3050 Ti When importing a fbx file into software from Maya I got this error "Could not create an importer." I'd tried to import the obj file but the software got stuck in loading the file.Would you please help me what should I do?
When trying to use Python to build a Project file I can execute these two lines in the script panel, everything works fine. However, when I put this code into a startup.py in the startup folder of SUBSTANCE_PAINTER_PLUGINS_PATH, it does not work. import substance_painter.project substance_painter.project.create(mesh_file_path="D:/Temp/box_low.fbx") The fbx file is a simple cube. But, this does not work wuth any fbx file I use. Hello. I have encountered the following problem. When adding a black mask on all seams of the model the bottom layer starts to appear. It does not depend on the baking procedure. It can not be painted with the help of drawing on the mask. Can you tell me what the problem may be?
in substance painter, when i texture anything (even a 12 triangle object) with 4k texture is so laggy. 2k texture is less laggy and 1k texture isnt laggy.RX 6600 RYZEN 5 560016GB RAM1TB SSDdeleted and installed previous versions but didnt work
Our studio uses a tool that needs to stay open throughout the entire work session, in fact it has it's own Open Project button that also call a bunch of other functions that load metadata associated with the asset, sets up export paths an so on. Substance v 9.0 seems to destroy my QT dialog when I go into Bake Mode, which is unacceptable in our current pipeline. Hello, I have a network attached storage that is mapped to a drive letter on Windows 10. I have been using substance painter student version off this network drive for a year without issue. I have just purchasd Substance Painter 2023 (currently version 9.0.0) and I am no longer able to access my mapped drive. It simply does not appear in the explorer window when creating a new. Comparing side-by-side with a regular windows explorer window, the mapped drive appears and is accessible without issue, whereas the Substance Painter File>New explorer window has everything except the mapped drive. I have tried:-Remapping the network drive.-Mapping the network drive to a different letter.-Running substance painter in admin mode.-Creating a directory symlink on my C drive to the network drive.-Creating a directory symlink on my C drive to my network drive letter. Relocating all of my substance painter file storage off this network drive and to my local storage is not
Nearly finished an import/export plugin.I need to add 4 channels to the default ones when creating a new project.They all work... except ambient occusion. . Found the keys are not case sensitive. I can add "Ambient Occlusion" channel manually but need it in the script. Even though the error coses says maybe it is already added, it not as I'm then able to manually add it.Seems like a possible bug. PS - Also tried AMBIENT_OCCLUSION
Hi. The plug-ins menu in my just installed (Steam) version of Substance Painter 9 for both JavaScript and Python is empty, except for the entries Reload plug-in, and plug-in folder, which when clicked does nothing.I can't see any of the actual plugins listed like in https://helpx.adobe.com/substance-3d-painter/interface/main-menu/plugins-menu.html I've tried reinstalling onto both my C and F drives. I did have the 2022 version installed previously and some of its settings have carried across. Not sure what is going on?
Over the past couple of months, I have had an issue where Substance Painter will crash, and then not long after my laptop will totally freeze, forcing me to hard-shut down my laptop. I'm pretty sure this is not an issue with my laptop per se, because it used to run Substance Painter quite comfortably and I have been able to use many other intensive applications without any issue. This is an issue that occurs with every version, not just recent ones either, as I downgraded to the earliest version my subscription would allow and the issue still occurs. I have tried disabling a number of options in Substance settings and these have had no effect. I did report this issue previously and was told that, at the time, my laptop was under minimum specs because it did not have enough RAM (8GB). I upgraded the RAM last month to 32GB and the issue still persists. I have also tried setting the NVIDIA GPU to be used rather than auto-selecting. My drivers are kept up-to-date. I have attached
Hello, Substance Painter crashes on startup for me, even after troubleshooting using the guide for software conflicts, etc. My machine is way above the spec requirements, and I have used Substance Painter without a hitch in the past, I'm not sure what's causing the software to not even be able to startup. I've attached the crash log, thanks!
Unable to open Susbstance Painter for some reason. Tried reinstalling.
the issue is, whenever the program either: launches window into non-primary monitor, or is moved into second monitor and interacted with, program crashes. to explain why this is an issue, substance painter is a painting program. Digital painting uses drawing tablets. MOST people using drawing tablets professionally use visual drawing tablets, which are monitors. to that end, they will also almost always be using a computer monitor as their primary, and the tablet as a second monitor, for various reasons. this is the most common setup in my experience. I have tried all the troubleshooting I can, and I can't get the app to remain stable if my monitor is set as primary. However if I use my tablet as a primary display, the program works as expected, without crashing, so long as I never move the window onto my monitor, which is now configured as secondary. some suggestions from the forum had me adjust my settings through Nvidia control panel, going to 3d set
Hi, I'm a novice in Substance 3D Painter. I took the Substance 3D Painter 2019 essentials training cource by Wes McDermott (LinkedIn Learning - the Guitar amp). The finished project file was provided (SP v 8.1.3) and looks great: I exported the textures and added them to a Unity 2021 URP project and they looked distorted: You can see the text looks bad and some distortion in the black areas near the grey lights. Anyone else take this class and see this problem?
I think I've uncovered a potential bug. I've been attempting to use smart material presets on my Mac sent to me by a PC user. Both of us are using the most current version of Subtance 3D Painter on the most current OS's of our respective machines. These presets have been tested sharing between PC and PC and seem to work fine. Sharing from Mac to PC also seems to work fine. It's just when receiving smart materials from a PC user that I encounter problems using them on my Mac. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I'm having a problem with substance, I've been using it for a long time, but in this 2023 update when I try to use a generator or a filter, it just leaves someAnd most already come with the substanceWhen I try to use it, an error message pops up.[ Generator view ] generator is not a substance fileIf anyone knows how to solve it, it would help a lot, I'm managing to turn around but it's still a delay
I noticed when trying to bake out maps (at any res) Painter will crash to desktop w/no error. Even when unchecking the raytracing and live preview options. My system is an 13th gen i7 with 64Gb of RAM and an Intel Arc A770. When I try the same bake on another system with an nvidia card it works fine. I've reported it to both Intel and Adobe, but wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.
I've seen this posted in multiple places a couple of months ago. I just got a 7900xt myself and suddently Painter won't launch, I only see the splash screen for a brief moment. What gives? Has this still not been fixed?I've tried old and recent drivers with absolutely no luck. Now I can't work and it's a problem.Any ideas?
When baking with the Intel Arc A770, after doing nothing for a few seconds, Substance Painter closes with no error message. Baking textures worked fine previously with a GTX 1660 SUPER.Driver updates did not do anything to help the issue, I even tried downloading the newest beta ones.I attached the crash log, and a video of the issue, if those have any uses. System specs:CPU: Intel i510400FRAM: 64GB DDR4GPU: Intel Arc A770Windows 11 Build version: 8.3.1
I got this project that's gone a bit too heavy for my system to the point that sometimes it crushes when I change the texture resolution from 2k to 4k. Last time I changed it to 4k and saved it without crushing but now I'm stock since I can't open the project anymore and it crashes every time.
HelloPainter has become unusable suddenly.Materials have gone pink on me, including some from the starter assets which i never used.I have tryed a fresh install, [including removing everything that read Painter on th ecomputer [Mac 11.6.6] it did not help.I think it has started after i deleted Blender Folders with materilas maps created from the Substance plugin .the clean install removed all the materials i added to the library, but not the pink ones from the starter assets.opening a new file now. i don't see the mesh object , just pink stuff. I did tryied to follow the instractions in the Docs regarding updation materials... but it does not work.
