Hi,Where can I find the blank face?I'am using version 3.1 and it doesn't seem to appear anymore. Could I download the file somewhere?Thank youGeorges
In the Okay Samurai videohttps://youtu.be/ivt3zQ0zni0The arm reaching for the fish contains "sticks" to control abnormal stretching. Yet when in record mode the arm stretches like crazy. What is going on?I'm using v. 3.1. Is that something to do with it?Are other people also having problems with consistency in models and behaviours when they stray from the straight forward copy and modify approach to character animator?ThanksRobert
Hello, My puppet has all 5 body positions, each with a full set of elbow and wrist dragger handles. At any one moment, only one body position is triggered and visible. Unfortunately, when I attempt to manipulate dragger handles of the relevant body position I find that I end up dragging the elbows and wrist handles of the four other "hidden" body positions. So, when I hit record I find that I haven't dragged just two elbows and two wrists, but a whole bunch of elbows and wrists from other body positions. And since all the handles in the timeline appear the same (named as "Handle ()" ), it can be difficult to isolate and manipulate the desired handle takes while discarding the superfluous handle takes, making the timeline unecessarily cluttered. It would be great if there was a setting that I could toggle to make dragger handle manipulation ONLY apply to the currently visible body position. Thank you
Hey all,I use camera input for the character, is there a way to keep the mouth from being so twitchy? It will put the surprise or smile mouth on for a split second if I move the wrong way. Jeff
So I am a novice at animation and am learning as I go here. I am in a band tyhat wants to start doing some music videos ands/or podcasts or posters etc. I want to get the band "puppets". There are five of us. I am sure there are inexpensive or even free apps/web sites where I can upload an image and have it caertoonized ( if that is a word haha). So my questions are:1.What does a puppet file have to be? Can be literaly anything that comes out of photoshop? So I get someone to draw a cartoon of each of us and then strick it in phjtoshop etc.2. Are there sites out there that will take a photo and turn it into a cartoon that you would suggest?3. I am sure there are peopel to pay out there but we do not have a lot of money which is why I am learning these programs.Any sugestions would be great help.Rob
I know there is the little X next to a behavior, but if I am live Streaming, is there a way to bind "reset" to a button? Now that I am writing this, maybe a keyframe can make this happen?
I'm making an instructional video for guitar-music threory integration, and I'm running into a couple of small issues that i was hoping to get some help with. First, one of my puppets is a guitar neck with individual, articulating fingers. I've rigged it up somewhat, but it could definitely be better. It's a little too.... sticky..... The really issue I'm having is with my Robot dude. I'm trying to figure out a way for him to "perform" drum beats live. I'd like to know which of the following two solutions would be worth more time investment for the desired results. A: is there a way to trigger off of something like a drum sound..... meaning: if i isolated a drum track, is there a way to have my character "hit" different drums in an animation, depending on what drum strikes in the track...... ?or B: should I just trigger him to hit different drums based on an approximation of the drum beat using a "Beat box" (Boots and Pants = Kick, h
Hi, I'm modifying the Stardust character. I've got one issue I've just spent three hours fixing but to no avail. There's a Default lid that should disappear when other lids are triggered. This works fine for the Left eye but on the Right eye in the Frontal pos, the Default lid always shows. I've compared the two sides many times and I can't figure it out. Can anyone take a look at the puppet? Thanks! EDIT: it's the /Head/Frontal/Right eye/Lid/Default/Default lid group. Works fine in other poses. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nd3kxeuj8iqhndb/test.puppet.zip?dl=0
Hi, I adjusted some transforms such as size in CA 3.1 because it's actually easier with all those poses and groups in CA than in Photoshop. Then I eventually did Edit Original in Photoshop. Problem: If I so much as touch the original PSD, the transforms in CA reset - completely gone. Is that intended? It's super annoying and seemingly unnecessary. Any tips? Thanks!
Hi there. I want to record my pc screen using screencast software but at the same time I want the adobe puppet to be on my screencast mimicking what I am saying so that in the screencast it appears as if he is talking to the viewer and explaining what is going on in my screen. Is it possible to place the puppet on your screen and do this or would I need to add the puppet to the screencast afterwards? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks,Russell
Hey all, I am having a issue with the position stopwatch of a replay I have created... I'll explain it a little more...think "superman on the ground who then flies off into the sky" so X (ground) position and Y (top of screen/off camera) when I rightclick and create the replay the position stopwatch X & Y do not go with it...just wondering if its possible or if there is something similar?
Hey guys! I recently had a system upgrade toAMD Ryzen 5 3400G Processor (4 Cores, 8 Threads, 3.7GHz) with Vega 11 Graphics32GB DDR4 RAM (Dual Channel @2600MHz)500GB Evo Plus M.2 NVMe SSD I am doing fine and having a smooth workflow with this setup, so far...I am just wondering if this is already enough for doing animation in Ch, or should I get an additional Graphic Card?If so, what card? AMD or NVidia? Should I get a gaming card or a professional (workstation) card? (Tbh, I don't really understand the difference, except the price). And in case you said NVidia gaming card, should stick with GTX or try the newest RTX? And why? Thank you very much!
Hi.I'm trying to find a consistent, repeatable route through rigging and behaviour that follows from the online tutorials.https://youtu.be/T-7uTIfXW8E1 The dymamic platform is tagged with a drag behaviour and is draggable but has no visible behaviours in record mode.2 The circle is tagged with a drag behaviour, the draggable behaviour is visible in the record mode but the circle is not draggable.3 When the platform gets close to the circle the circle becomes attached to the platform and is draggable. What's happening? Here is the circle in rig mode. The circle is tagged and has the draggable behaviour icon in the puppet layers. Here is the dynamic platform in rig mode. It is tagged but has no behaviour icon in the puppet layers or in the properties although it behaves as expected. Here are the "instructions" in rig mode. These may contain the universal behaviours for the scene/puppet but there is no draggable behaviour here. Where do the draggable properties f
Recently exported a Ch animation file (88mb, 80secs) and it took over an hour and a half. AME export settings were .264 & YouTube 1080 Full HD. The video had an background(small Ai file) and no unusual graphics. Any tips to help speed up the exporting would be appreciated? When I increase the puppet's resolution in photoshop (by increasing image size) it throws all the rigging out of whack. Can anyone suggest a solution?
Hello everyone, I'm trying to re-create the floating hearts in periscope and Instagram that start at the bottom and float upwards. Is there anyway to do this with adobe character animator particles? I've tried with snow and point and shoot, but I can only make things go sideways or down, not upwards. Any ideas? Any solutions, it would be very appreciated thank you!
Hey there, Character Animator community! Just started tinkering with CA last night because it looks so fun. I made a simple puppet to get myself a little more familiar with the way everything works, but for the life of me I can't figure this one thing out:I want to attach the base of the hand that holds the phone to the right arm. As of now the phone and hand move along with the head, which disconnects the hand from the arm and makes the puppet seem a lot more static. Putting the phone layer in the same folder as the rest of the right arm fixes this, but the phone needs to stay in front of the rest of the puppet. I feel like I'm overlooking something, because something so simple shouldn't be this much of a hassle, right? Hopefully I explained myself well enough, I'm not a native English speaker. Any help is much appreciated! Kind regards
I don't know why i am cursed but every project I do I get some sort of issue. This time I've imported two scenes into AE and I get this CH error (in AE):
not sure why this is doing this? See the attached image, here's hoping someone can make sense of it. Thank you.
Hello everyone. I created puppet (like peppa pig) but there is problem with arms. While it walking its arm looks like shaking. What is the problem? Any ideas?
It's been weeks. I have started from scratch with my own Photoshop file, I have used the Start puppet templates....and I have probably watched all of Ok Samurai videos a half dozen times already....and I cannot get a functioning puppet. The attached video shows the problems that won't go away....when I finally got the body to stop floating, the pupils then stopped moving. When I did get them to finally get to work again - by doing nothing but delete the whole puppet and re-import the same file - the head began to distort and nothing was changed from the previous version when it worked fine....i am so frustrated and hope someone can tell me what i am doing wrong!! PLEASE!
Hi, when i open after effects or encoder i get this message 5 or 5 times, all goos well in after effects and during the rendering but i wonder why tis error happens? Title edited by Mod
Hi all.I am using NDI virtual input to make a camcorder's video output as virtual webcam. In Character Animator, I can only get audio but no video. Ch can recognize the virtual webcam, the webcam icon and the mic icon are all blue. Can anyone help with this conversation? Thanks.
I just lost a quite bit of work last night. This program is still new to me, and I don't normally work on Photoshop either. So I'm not sure if what I was doing was stressing my computre or not.I couldn't find much about people talking about organizing in a project on Character Animator.I use iMac 2019 model with 3.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB memory, 2GB Graphics.I'm not really familier with those specs, and what each number means to working on Character Animator and Photoshop.oh, and before I lost my data, I got warning message saying I need to upgrade graphics card. Anyhow, my questions are:How many puppets should I have in a scene? (Current project I'm working on has 4 puppets, including midground and background images as puppets) How many scenes should I have in a project?(Currently I only have one project, and I have total 4 scenes, 7 puppets, and about a dozen of SFX)I was wondering if I separate projects, it would make the working files lighter. How many la
