I'm Jordan and I just learned about Character Animator from a friend. It will download but no matter what I do I keep getting a window that says The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application. I am using windows 8.I think that I found the problem. I do not think it is compatible with windows 8 so I will try to get windows 10 and see what happens.Message was edited by: Jordan Riney
Since this is my first puppet, I want to use a template puppet. It opens in adobe character. How can I toggle it back in forth to open in photoshop to make the artworkmy own character? Is that how it works? Thanks for any help.
I'm news to Character animator and I'm having trouble with the puppets movements. Whenever I move the puppet/my head, the entire puppet moves. Here's a screenshot of my workspace.
Hi, Im just starting out with Character Animator and really enjoying it, But i've bumped into a few really annoying problems.I rig my character with fixed points, draggle points, bones, dangle bits etc. I save the project come back to it later in the day or the next day and all my rigged date has gone? and when i try to do it again none of the fixed points work and all the pivot points have jumped back to their starting point?PLEASE, its driving me a little crazy what am i doing wrong?
Let's say it wants to pick something off the floor. How do I make him bend so that his feet stay in the same position? Thanks!
HiUpdate -- could it be because I have " Face behavior" disabled? Here's a link to the files in dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vul6vyrjzb13c9a/AABODr-T6VGud4Yu1PgJfPjca?dl=0I'll be providing a dropbox link to my files shortly.I am trying to use the mouse to control the eyeballs -- rather than using the webcam. But I am having two problems.1) The eyeballs bounce2) The eyeballs go out of the iris.I have Left pupil range selected. I'm sure with some fine tuning that will fix the eyeballs going out of their iris. Not sure how to keep the iris from bouncing. Here's a link to a video screencast showing my settings and the result.https://www.screencast.com/t/4jvOYxEf4Using the latest CC 2017 April version. Thanks everyone - having fun with Character!Rowby
I just recently started on getting my head to turn in Ch. Im running into an issue where in scene mode my head seems to be defaulting to Left Quarter instead of Frontal. As for layers, I have:Char Name Head Frontal Left Quarter Left ProfileI have even went into Head turner properties and turned off the camera input but it still seems to default to Left Quarter. Any suggestions??
Hi!I've seen a lot of questions about the camera being busy in Ch but none of them has helped my case.I'm running Windows 10 on a HP Elitebook with buildt in webcam. The webcam works in pretty much every application, just not in Ch. I see the audiolevels responding to the noise in the room but the panel says "Camera busy."When I try to switch to next or default camera, the webcam LED switches on for about 5 seconds, then off again, and I get the same message. There are no other applications making use of the webcam at the moment. The version of Ch is the latest Adobe has released.Upon trying to switch ro next camera and then back to default, the console returns this:<10028> <dvalua> <5> trying to switch to next camera from camera 1<10028> <CameraTracker> <5> Extra cvQueryFrame call: 1<10028> <CameraTracker> <5> Extra cvQueryFrame call: 2<10028> <CameraTracker> <5> Extra cvQueryFrame call: 3<10028> <CameraTra
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.I am doing rigging test for my character, I have an animation for the arm, and for some reason, there is a soft black outline around the piece that is animated.I tried fixing by adding blue mass behind the arm but it changes nothing. Here is a picture that shows what I meanHere is the puppet in illustrator, the lines should not be there. Plus the piece is larger than where it seems to cut, it's almost as if it was transparent in CHThanks in advance
Hi,I have a character that I am having some problems with. I am using the OK Samurai technique of multiple takes on top of a standard arm position and blending them in. Th problem I am having is that each time I get an arm around shoulder height the elbow position keeps raising almost as if the elbow has gravity applied to it. All looks OK at one point and then when I move on to animating another part or take the blow gets out of position with some odd looking performance. This is driving me mad. Any one else had a similar problem and found a solution? Thanks in advanceGlenn
Hi, I am just starting-- I downloaded Rameriz-- the puppet template and I'm going to make a new monster with these files. I would like to have the walk cycle to my character. Do I make a profile character seperately? How do I make it turn smoothly? or can you make it turn? Thanks for any info. Danny Jacobson
Hello,I installed Character Animator to my computer recently and was able to play around in it for a bit, but one day when I tried to open it, an error popped up instead that says "can't fetch cmaps" and the program itself doesn't start.I tried restarting my system and uninstalling and reinstalling Character Animator, but the error still pops up whenever I try to open the program. Help for a fix would be much appreciated. Thank you!
How can I set a single recording track for eye gaze and face properties (specifically eye lid control) on multiple head positions?Right now I am selecting all my of head positions and adding face / eye gaze properties to each position which adds a lot of recording layers which makes it confusion to animateThanks!
Whenever I try to "compute lip synch from scene audio" as the status bar gets to 100% the program crashes and closes entirely. (CH v. beta 5)
If Character Animator is crashing and your Mac has a Wacom tablet, please be sure to update to the latest supported version of the Wacom driver software. Wacom has suggested at least 6.3.20 for improved stability. If you are still encountering a crash after updating to at least 6.3.20, please post a message on our user forums. Thanks.
Hi guys, i made a puppet and made a walk animation but it bugs? Any help? The arms won't move..Rig:
I am working on a scene that involved having my characters eyes go in opposite directions (or even cross them)How would I go about rigging up this sort of behavior?
Hey when i click my puppet head in the rig panel it selects the whole puppet.Im trying to follow a Tutorial on youtube that looks like this when the head is selected.Im using illustrator and ive tried putting the body on its own layer. But when i go to scene it looks like this. The head moves but the body does not. What am i doing wrong?
Beta 6 has been giving me alot of issues when it comes to updating AI files. When I tweak my AI files and save them, then reopen CH, the whole CH project becomes corrupt. This is not something that happened in my beta 5 workflow. I am not doing anything different than before. If I reopen the CH project multiple times it will try to fix itself by duplicating and renaming my "puppetV2" to "puppetV3" and adding an additional puppet as well as removing all data (handles, etc) that was previous added to CH causing me to have to redo everything. Also, sometimes I have to wait a good 15 mins to preview in record mode. This turns my workflow to a snail pace. The errors read something along the lines of "error in row 1".
Not sure if this is an issue specific to me or others experience it.Adobe Character Animator (Beta 5 x141) loves to freeze randomly when doing something within the program. Usually clicking a scene.Freezes computer up, mouse won't move, have to hard reboot. It never restores the original files (despite auto saving??) which is disappointing.Probably because when i do go to load the file, it looks like its corrupted and i get this nice error message below and it won't open. Lost all my work!Incredibly frustrating...Other feedback, webcam stream sometimes takes a while to load, and can also freeze, but so far has managed to recover after a few minutes.Windows 10 64 bitUpdate:Re-installed ACA and used for a little while, and then randomly when i adjusted the View % it froze and crashed.
Hi, just added the right side views to my puppet and the app automatically chose the right quarter view as my rest pose. Is there a way to change my rest pose to the frontal view?[Moved from non-technical Lounge to Character Animator.]
What is the best way to get objects to stick to a character? For example, I like to use number triggers to teach about gear and tools and I like to cycle through them in left/right hand. I would like to have the objects pin to the Character's hand so when I move the arm around it follows the hand, but I always seem to mess up the fluid movement of the arms whenever I get close to having it do what I want. I use transparent pngs for the objects and just not sure where to place them all in the document. Thanks,Mike
After selecting the 'Check for App Updates' from the menu in Adobe Cloud, Character Animator CC (Beta) shows as 'Up to Date' but when I open the app It is still Beta 5. Are there any other ways to upgrade?
Hey there,Was really excited to see that Character Animator is now compatible with Wirecast, so I quickly downloaded the newest version of Character Animator and installed the NDI software for Adobe Cloud. However, when I turn on streaming and ensure that NDI output is enabled I'm unable to find the output in Wirecast. I'm running everything through a single MacBook Pro.Any help would be greatly appreciated.CheersDom
I am playing with the new walk cycle features. My goal is to rig a Left/Right profile view so that when i press the left/right arrow key my puppet will walk left or rightRight now everything works except for the arrow key triggering the left/right views. The workaround I used was to trigger the left view with another key and then proceed to walk with the arrow keys. not ideal.Any tips would be great:)
