I've run into this issue a few times now. I will have a scene imported into AE but I when I go back to CH and update it the changes don't seem to dynamically link back to AE. In fact sometimes they do but when I export the scene to MP4 the updated changes are not added and the original CH scene ends up exporting. This has happened several times to me now. Is this a known issue? Is there a work around. Thanks in advanced.
Hi! I decided to make the leap and get a desktop to do my animation work. In setting up my work station, I purchased a Logitech c920 webcam. Video capture seems to work. However, Character Animator doesn't want to recognize the audio? I know I have audio because it shows up when setting up in system preferences on my Mac. What gives? Do I need a different version webcam?? Is there a setting I'm not seeing??? Please advise. Thanks!Susy Garner
I have a vector file I brought into Character Animator. It shows up in the puppet panel fine, as a clear vector, but once added to the scene and scaled up, only certain parts are vector. Her eyes and glasses appear fine in the scene, but the rest of her does not. I am clueless. Also the colors vastly differ from the original AI file.PuppetSceneAI fileHead.puppet - Google DriveHead.ai - Google Drive
So, I had a fully functional animation. It's linked with a photoshop document and was synced perfectly. All the layers were working. Everything was good.I saved my animation and it's been opened several times with no problems. However, now when I open my file, my puppet head does not even remotely resemble my photoshop file. Everything looks like colored blocks. What's even weirder is that the colored blocks will blink and move with my head, so I know that it has to be something with the software. I've already quit and reopened the program multiple times as well as restarted my computer at least 3 times. I'll attach pictures below of what I'm seeing. Is the only way to fix this by reinstalling Character Animator? If so, I will be very sad.Can anyone help? Thanks,^^^What it looks like now.^^^What it used to look like (What it should look like)
I find the blank template incredibly useful. Organization is a struggle for me, so not having to go to the help docs and parse out what layers i need, what i should name them and how i should structure them makes life a whole lot easier.I was wondering if it would be possible to provide a version of the blank template that includes groups for all the head turn positions (and any other tags Ch might be looking for).Thank you!
I'm very new to Character Animator (and After Effects) and the forum too - hello!I've only animated a few little things in CH so far, and it's definitely a winner on the fun side of things. (I have worked on a web series in Reallusion Crazy Talk Animator which is a powerful app, but also quite tedious.)I'm exceptionally fond of the Dangle behaviour. I tried Dangle to get some organic looking animations that would be quite intricate using keyframes.Recording seems to be a bit weird though. I moved my head to a beat, and the recording seems to have a delay at first. Sometimes it seems to jump (as you can see at the end of the Medusa video. CH also seems to often interpret my neutral expression as a smile.(Not sure, maybe I should work on my acting? )Grooving Forest - lots of heads and individual danglesMedusa - - just a transparent head with a dangling brain and individual dangles on the tentaclesGrooving Scribble - a test for an ambitious music video project. Hi guys, this is about the "R" viseme and sound. I'm pretty sure that there are quite some international "R" sounds missing, for the "R" viseme doesn't show up when I use Spanish, Italian or French words, while it does with the English "R"."R" viseme in English is working.- as in "work"- or "further". "R" viseme in Spanish is not working- as in "Tarragona"- or "Torero". Also, the French version, as in…irresponsable[iʁ(ː)ɛspɔ̃sabl] ('irresponsible')formidable[fːɔʁmidabl] ('terrific')Il faut l'attraper [ilfol(ː)atχape] ('it must be caught')… does not seem to work. Any chance that more "R" sounds than just the English versions will be added to the sounds that ChAn recognizes and then linked to the "R"?
The "Left" on the image of the face (in the tags menu) is actually on the right and vice versa (the left eye is labeled "Right"). For the views immediately below, (Left Profile, Left Quarter, Forward, ...), are labeled with the opposite convention (left is facing left). In other words, the face labels are relative to the character and the views are relative to me.I guess I prefer switching the labels on the faces (since the character is always facing me by design, rather than me looking at the back of its head). Really it doesn't matter to me as long as the two conventions are consistent.
Short question that might be simple but I couldn't figure it out: I have a character with a sword on his back, and I want that sword to dangle when the character moves from the point where it is attached to the back of the character (which is somewhere above the middle of the sword). Obviously I don't want the sword to warp in any kind of way.I tried adding lots of dangle points and sticks to the sword and adjusting the dangle settings, which brought me very close to what I want, but the big thing is that my character is already that complicated which causes my actual FPS to be 0,5.Is there an easy way to do it?
What I'm trying to do is make a mouth that has a hinged jaw with teeth that overlap the edges of the mouth. Here are pictures of the mouth closed and open to illustrate better what I'm trying to say:In order to do this so far I had to make 4 layers. From the bottom to top layer there is the red layer that is the inside of the mouth. The next layer is the top layer of the mouth without the first 2 teeth. Then comes the lower jaw with the 2 fangs. And on the top layer are the first 2 teeth on the top of the mouth. In Illustrator everything is fine when I select the jaw's 2 layers and move them but in Character Animator I can only grab one of the layers at a time. I have the draggable handles overlapping on both layers in CA but it seems random which one it grabs. At any rate, is there a way to link those two layers together so they move as one despite being in a layer sandwich?I apologize if there is something simple that I'm overlooking. I haven't been using CA for long and only in my s
Is there a way to up the mesh resolution? When I bend my characters arm, it looks quite jagged, which could be fixed if I had more detail in my mesh.I'm also curious how Char.Anim. calculates mesh density? Because on my puppet, there's more mesh detail in his left hip than anywhere else - what's causing that?
Hi,I got this message today, when working in both CH and AE.Windows dialog box saying "close programs to prevent information loss.Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs:Character Animator CC Beta."I waited a couple of minutes and the RAM usage went down to 8 (of 16), and then pressen cancel on the dialog box.Unfortunately, minutes later I got a crash in AE.Could it be an issue with memory leak?
This is one of many new characters I am currently working on. Here is a video I made today to test out the rigging lip sync and blinks
I have a character with a long coat. It has two layers, one in front of the body and one behind the body. But my character also has legs, and if I move them they go between those two layers. I'm actually looking for a way to let the coat stretch or dangle along when the knees of the character go too far. Any ideas?Chris
does anyone know how to correctly order or layer different puppet so that 1 puppet i in front on another.one of the puppet is is the character but then a created another puppet for the weapon so it can behave how I want it to.
I have entered a PSD file in a new project for the character animator. And I set eyes, mouth, etc. tag to the layer and set keyboard input. So it worked well. But once I make a PSD modification, the applied settings are reset and there is an error even though I reset it exactly as before. It doesn't working after restarting the computer again, even if create a new project.I want you to tell me how to do it.
I currently working on an After Effects project which uses multiple scenes created in Character Animator. The project works well when it is being used on a Mac, which is the computer it was created on. I have to try to transfer it to a PC in order to export and edit the project further but whenever I do I cannot Link the Character Animator project to it. I keep getting the error "After Effects error: Failed to connect to Adobe Dynamic Link project. ( 86 :: 1 )" When I try to replace or re-load the file I am unable to get it to work. Is there any way to transfer the project itself with all of the links intact from a Mac to a PC or does the project essentially have to be re-done when transfering between operating systems?
Hello, hope everyone is having a great day!n Generally speaking my puppet is setup pretty good to my knowledge and i am not sure why my pupils and eyes are so shaky/fidgety. Is there a control for this? I am working on a timed project, please help
I am currently learning how to cycle layers for smoother blinks (and hopefully for squinting later). The fastest it will go is 1 frame per layer, even tho I've tried to decimate that (0.5, .001, etc) it still seems to be at the same rate. This makes my character's blinks very slow and unnatural. Any guidance would be much appreciated!
So I just started Character Animator and made my puppet following the guides and videos. However when I try to make a scene with my puppet, it seems to be cropped out and I can't see the whole head. I want to be able to use this for my twitch stream. I could really use the help. Thank you.
Hi guys, i am new to Adobe Character Animator, but i wanna make a talk/live show live on Youtube! I looked for tutorials and found Syphon, but i use Windows.. So can i use a other program or Syphon, on Windows to livestream Adobe Character Animator?-Robbert
Hace una semana empecé a usar este programa y de un día para el otro empezó a fallar. Aparecen unos cuadros blancos cuando selecciono partes de mi puppet y cuando lo llevo a la escena hay partes del puppet que no aparecen.
I can't see the mesh of the left arm of my character (HIS left), and in the scene I can't see the arm at all. Here are some screenshots with left arm selected and right arm selected, and the scene with and without showing mesh. It looks like the left arm has the same mesh as the right one.. What I did after it worked fine was duplicating and mirroring the left one and rename it right arm. Can anyone help me?
A couple of times lately I have been working in the puppet properties panel, adding pins and sticks etc, when all of a sudden it stops working. For example, I might select the stick tool from the tool bar, but when I move the mouse back over the puppet the pointer changes to the hand tool and all I can do is move the puppet around. No matter which tool that I select, the mouse pointer changes to a hand as soon as it moves over the actual work area. I have to close CA and restart work later, which is a nuisance ! Is this a known problem ?
HI! I've built a puppet and I've labeled my eyes / mouth etc and it just won't work. Here's my puppet's faceHere's a shot of me "blinking" where her whole upper face folds in half. Help!!!
