I've been using Character animator in After Effects for about two years, and something unusual has just started happening. Not sure if it's a bug or if it's an issue with how I've set it up. In any Character scene that I create, the character model is always placed in the centre, and appears in the centre of any preview. However, when I export this scene (either by linking the Ch file in AE, or by rendering out from Character directly) the character model suddenly moves to one side of the screen and overlaps across to the opposite side. I've had a look and there are no hidden objects in the character model, and even if there were, surely the Character preview would show it. This happens with every character model that I've tried, and happens in different After Effects projects. Any help would be very much appreciated!
The default background keeps popping up unwanted. So I clicked on "edit original." But instead of taking me to Photoshop -- it takes me Photoshop Elements, where I cannot properly delete the background files.
I am using puppet maker and have imported two different puppets. When I have one puppet selected and one audio clip selected and click "sync," the voice syncs to both the currently selected puppet AND the other puppet in the scene. How do I ensure that I sync only one puppet?
Hi, I animated a scene in Character animator then linked it to an after effects project. But it seems the Ch audio doesn't work in AE... I've seen older posts talking about the same issue but no solution there. Is this a bug that dosn't have a fix?
Hello Community Please help? I'm using the standard puppets that come with Character Animator. The Starter version of Character Animator allows me to drag and drop the triggers onto my timeline. However, I cannot find that same functionality on the Pro version. The puppet already came with triggers, now all I want to do is add them to my recording, but I can't seem to figure it out on Pro. Thanks a ton in advance!
When I export the MP4, the audio is much softer than it should be. I am using all standard settings. What's the trick to getting Character Animator to export an MP4 with the right overall audio levels. The audio is from mp3's, and the recordings are fine, at normal levels. But when the scene is exported to MP4, the overall volume level of the video is about half of what it should be -- which I heard lowers your ranking on Google Search, by the way, which makes this doubly itrritating.
The work area is like the default character background -- it keeps coming into play uncommanded. I set the work area to end of video using "set work area to end at playhead" -- but the next time I play the video, it stops 2 seconds early, at the end of some OTHER work area that I never set (or at least never purposefully set). Is there a way to just turn the work area function off until it's actually neeeded?
Hi! I exported a .puppet file and brought it into a new project, but one of the shareable puppets within the main puppet is not showing a file path for the original file and the "edit original" button at the bottom of the project panel is greyed out. I'd like to edit the original file, but can't figure out how or where it's connected to the artwork. Anything I can do to fix this?
Wassup yall I hope you are doing goodI have a problem.I can't tell why, when i export my scene with Media Encoder, or when i charge my scenes to After Effect, the image of the video is "strangely" separate (exemlples in the images bellow). Plus, In Ae, the separation changes in depend of the resolution i use (watch the images) but never get fixed, welly framed.BUT when i use tho option quick export in the menu, the image of the video is welly framed (no separation).I'm using Ch 23.1, I've tryed to unistall and re install the app, the bug is still there.I need to charge my Ch scene in my Ae projectCan someone help me please ?
I have written here several time about how if I use the program start a puppet, turn off the program and come back to it days later the program won't open or recognize any of my files. I have had a few response talking about how where I save my file might be the problem. This makes no sense to me as that no other program has ever had this problem. I have attached images of what the program is saying. Can someone please tell me what I need to do, where I need to save my files, or if there is a person I can talk to for help thank you.
There is currently an arrow that takes you to the start of the scene when clicked. This arrow is located to the left of the "play" button. However there is no corresponding arrow on the right of the "play" button to take you to the END of the scene. I would find such a button quite useful. Thanks.
I've gone into record mode and unclicked everything but dragger. However, as I record, dragger input is disabled. I only see the dragging input that was previously recorded. Why am I unable to input dragger motion now? Thanks.
I tried to change the background but it is gave the same result.
Hello! Sorry, just started learning this program yesterday. For some reason my Mouth wouldn't flip from Aa to Neutral and the Left Pupil wouldn't move. Both Eyebrows and the Blinking worked perfectly though. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hello there, hope you will be doing great. I have an issue regarding the rigging of a character in character animator. Even though I have arranged all the layers properly, the lip sync is not working. Please let me know how to fix it. I am attaching a screenshot of Photoshop layers here. I am using adobe character animator 22.3 on windows 10.
I'm a newbie to Character Animator and I've succeeded in getting puppet to sync to an imported voice file on mp3. But I want to use some mp3 voices that the character does not speak. Yet when I import ANY voice file, the character speaks it, even if I have not clicked on the option to sync the characters lips to the voice. How do I prevent the puppet from moving its lips to an mp3 voice?
Can I use the Starter pack only for 7 days or indefintely??? When I look at creative cloud suite, it shows that there are 7 days remaning for adobe character animator.
HelloI am HasanI installed Character Animator 22.4 and also Media Encoder 22.4 But error appear when I export my projectplease help!andWhat is the version compatible for them ?thanks
Pardon my incopetence - I am trying to create a little looping animation where my character's legs each move in a circle without stopping. That's it. Just a constant unstopping circle walk. Like some other users, I don't want to use the Walk behavior because it's seemingly designed only for a very specific type of tall, narrow humanoid body-type. My characters (being fat and short) consequently don't work with the Walk Behavior (unfortunately it seem like it was animated with such over-the-top exaggeration in the shoulders, that my characters will never look natural while using it). So, I'm trying to just create a simple animated loop in the legs - the kind of fundamental thing we all did the first day or two of animation school. It's a task that would take maybe 10 seconds to do in After Effects, but I simply can't find this feature in Character Animator. I feel it must exist and I just can't find it. But as best as I can tell, the only way I've
I updated Premiere Pro today and now I am having issue with Dynamic Linking Character Animator scenes. Is anyone else experiencing this? It was working fine before I updated, now there is a difference between the scene before importing to Premiere Pro and afterwards. I'm super frustrated right now because nothing that worked before is working now.
Hi everyone! I don't have a webcam but i have a sony a6300 DSLR that works just fine, i managed to set it as a virtual camera with OBS and the Virtual Camera pluginand it works on discord (i'm guessing it will work in any other videocalls apps) my issue comes when i try to add a webcam in Character Animator and it doesnt find any webcam. I press the little webcam icon, it turns blue as long is i keep it pressed, and turns back grey as i stop pressing it. I wouldn't mind spending 20 bucks on a cheapo webcam but it bothers me a bit having an expensive, goodlooking camera that works everywhere but Adobe Character Animator, any help? Excuse my english and thank you so much.
I know it's complicated, but until recently, I have been using a puppet with this rig structure just fine......With the Frontal view tagged as "Head," I could get the extra head tilt. And to use Body Tracking, I simply untagged this Frontal "Head," and CH wouldn't get confused. But this no longer works; perhaps coinciding with the addition of Motion Library? I've tried multiple ways of restructuring it, plus removing different tracked handles, and the character's torso either pins to the background or does something like this...And this does not happen with Body Tracking off, even with Motion Library on and the Frontal "Head" still tagged. I have not found an example puppet with all these aspects combined (multiple character views like Standing and Walking + extra head tilt control + Body Tracking) so if someone has one, please post the rigging structure, if you would. Hopscotch is close but doens't have multiple character views. Removing the Standing view may be my only option. It see

I have had several problems with this program since I have started using it. Most times when I close the program for the day then reopen it the next the file I was working on it won't recognize the file. I have unistalled and reinstalled the program several times. When I reinstall and open the program it is a 50/50 whether the file works. Most time I have to reimport the AI file which means I have lost all of my rigging. This have become a work flow nightmare. Two steps forward two steps back. The other issue I am having is when the program is working I cannot hear the audio at all. Not if I am listening/watch a playback after recording, and not if I import a file. I am using many other Adobe products and the audio work on all of them. I am using a PC, Character Animator version 23.1
I have a character who is sitting, so they dont have any leg tags. He can move from the waist with body tracking but for some reason he moves back to his original position once i move my body in the camera. On the Body behaviour I have "If tracking lost" set to hold in place, but either setting doesnt seem to make a difference. If i disarm the body behaviour it stops doing this, and I have a face behaviour that drives some of the tilt and doesn't reset its position if I have the face behaviour armed and the body behaviour disarmed, but i do need it to be armed. I haven't seen this happen before with any sitting puppet ive made before in the same way Thanks
