A long time wish: The Fill effect becomes much more versatile, when it could blend with the layer it is applied to. In the current version, it replaces the layer content completely. The effects Opacity setting acts as layer Opacity rather than the effect's Opacity.

Hello.Thank you for considering this suggestion.When working with character animations inside After Effects, it often happens that some motion paths overlap each other (for example when a character swings its arms or moves its hand).The very serious issue is that After Effects does not provide a way to handle the keyframes themselves precisely.Most of the times, when I select a keyframe in the viewport, After Effects selects an other one close by,  making ajusting keyframes that are in very close proximity borderline impossible.Even worse, when I try to adjust a bezier handle, it never gets the right one, and selecting each keyframe to adjust in the timeline doesn't help either.I'm basically asking for a revision of this system, as it makes character animations inside After Effects needlessly sloppy and frustrating.One solution would be to enable a toggle to only display the currently selected keyframe, or alongside it's previous and next ones.I provided an example of what I'm tal

It's become so tedious constantly centering the anchor point. (which there is no easy way to do without a 3rd party tool anyways). I'd love an option or mode to keep it centered regardless of the various tunes that are made to the text layer. 

When creating series of graphics, it is nice to check the number of e.g. created Comps. It would be nice if After Effects shows the number of selected items in the upper left of the  project panel.

I wish I could pause or deactive a set of keyframes. That way, I don't need to delete them, if I decide I want to use the effect at a later point.Anybody know of a plugin that lets you do this?

I wish we could copy/paste media between projects without them being offline or shown as missing assets. This would be a huge time saver. 

I'd love to have a stop watch next to the material drop down menu for linking materials over multiple meshes.Thank you 🙂

I'm not sure whether there's a work around for this but it's something After Effects hasn't always done. At somepoint over the last year or two the Project window has taken to 'jumping' position, vertically, once the name of a sequence, layer or general asset has been re-named. Or when a new folder or sequence has been created. When working with a large project, with a lot of assets, this can cause a lot of frustration and slow the process down considerably as I try and re-find the area of the folder structure I was working in. Not sure whether it's just my system, or whether there's a solution, but I would love it if it justr stayed where it was.

Hi,Can we get a proper color palette that can stay open, that is much more functional, like you see in C4D?A completely different tab, that artist can keep open all the time? I am surprised that there isn't one already.A long time using. It has been a drag! Thanks,B

When you cut a layer, you have to divide it into two layers... why can't we have a featuer that does not need it to be divided in to two layerrs. It will make it so much easier. - Wenai

Changing them all so they look the same at a glance was an insane choice for a company that makes design software.  Change it back.  We won't think less of you. 

I tried the latest AE Beta, but had no luck getting glass or other transparent materials to refract. Is this feature still pending? Or am I missing a parameter/setting?

I just wanted to suggest a small idea. Currently, in After Effects, there's no way to add or access the "Show Post-Expression Graph" feature directly through scripting. It would be really beneficial if we could have a way to do that. So, as a suggestion to Adobe, it would be great if they could find a solution for this, since it would help us a lot in automation and scripting.

Premiere Pro can change a text layer's fill between Solid, Linear, and Radial Gradients. Why not add this to After Effects? A simple drop-down, like so, would suffice: Why not even add an option to switch between a point and parametric mode? Maybe you want some green on the top, a darker yellow on the bottom, and some red on the side. This would work similarly to the 4-color gradient effect, but with infinite colors and points!

This is a combination of two suggestions: firstly, the ability to add multiple instances of the same layer style to a single layer, and adding a line join option for strokes. Let's begin with the ability to add multiple layer styles on the same layer. I feel this is self-explanatory, and believe that this would greatly benefit many users and save them the hassle of continuously precomposing their layers to simply add more stylization, especially for things like typography that require more than one (or two) strokes. Let's also add the ability to duplicate (CTRL D), copy, paste, and name these styles so we don't confuse ourselves. Speaking of strokes, I love 'em! Not only can you apply them anywhere, but you can even change the stroke alignment. However, one issue that keeps having me come back to the default text stroke option for text, and leaving me with no option for practically anything moving, would have to be Line Joins. Hello, when I used expression in my workflow, I want to set a keyframe value for the pre-expression(after caluculation) value.so I used to see the value by eye and then type it.I was wonder why something like this isn't a built-in feauter in after effects.I know that it can be done using scripts, but I think it is essential to be a built-in feature.some recommandation for how it can be implemented.ctrl + (click on add keyframe button, or the stopwatch).or any place where it is near to the add keyframe button.Thanks for reading😊.

Pleaase Adobe I need this!Hello, I was trying to recreate the bezier value curve and integrate it faster using math equations.but, I was shocked to know that you can't read easing information using expression, it felt weird for some reason that you can read the value and the value, but not easing data.It will really really reaaally help me be able to create things that won't be possible like:1 - faster simulation that was O(n), it will be O(1) using faster integration2-getting the pre-expressino value of a property as valueAtTime(t) only gives the post-expression value.I hope it will be added soon.thanks!

It would be great if we could import mogrt files, ideally from libraries, into AE. I'm working on a large collection of projects that requires me to have different "Presets" that I may import into each video to then use. Currently I have these all saved as AE projects, but it would be great if I could have them in my Libraries panel for easy importing, and since libraries already supports mogrt files, I think a good easy solution would be to support importing these into AE. We can already open mogrts in AE, so this doesn't seem like it's out of the range of feasibility. Alternatively, adding comps or projects to Libraries would be great, but this feels like it would be more complicated. Many thanks!

Hello! Long time after effects user here! I'll get right to the things I would love to see added to AE.1. Native Depth of Field and Motion Blur for Advanced Render. This would bring so much value using 3d in AE. Especially for competing plugins that the public has used but is now not functional to the degree it once was.2. Advanced renderer better render optimizations. (it unfortunatly is a very slow renderer making it impossible to use on time sensative projects when it could be the perfect solution.)3. Gradient fills for text Layers. I would love this very much. More custome text in AE. Great for templates4. Multiple Strokes for text: the ability to add more than one stroke on text layers would be amazing to make customizable, procedural text and text animation without the need for complex layers and a cool way to utilize text animators potentially. This could also help with seamlessly mimicking looks if Illustrator text in AE. Maybe even one day be able to send text directly from Il

Hi Adobe,Great work with the new Parametric Meshes feature, the ability to create native 3D geometry (planes, spheres, cones, etc) within After Effects is something many motion designers have long been waiting for. It opens up new creative workflows and reduces dependency on external geometry tools.One enhancement I’d like to propose: Curvature / Bend. For example, a Plane mesh should have a “bend radius” or “curve amount” parameter so you can bend the surface into a convex/concave shape without converting to generic 3D geometry or applying separate deformations. This would dramatically streamline workflows when animating curved panels, sweeping surfaces, or ribbons inside AE.Additional suggestions to bolster the parametric mesh system:Expand the library of parametric primitives (pyramid, wedge, custom profile sweep) to cover more motion-graphics use cases.Deformation parameters: twist, taper, bend, inflate, built-in rather than relying on external effect chains.Thank you for prioritis

Hi AE team,I'm a huge marker user, and I love all the options, but one thing is missing for me:The ability to finish editing your markers without touching your mouse would make the workflow a bit faster. In most chat apps, you have the option to send messages with CMD (or Ctrl) + Enter, so I thought, why not add that logic to After Effects too?    

With the advent of more 3D capabilities and better tools for 32b float workflows using AE in hybrid contexts will become more and more common. Because of this AE's working depth structure poses a problem. You do not always want 32bit project working depth. In some cases due to certain effects, other times because of performance.   It would be great if the user would have control over the working depth on a per comp basis. This mechanism could be similar to how Fusion handles it where you can change the depth running through the node chain at any time anywhere.   My typical example motivating this idea is I have a large project completely 16bit int based for 'normal' motion design work. But there is 1 comp that utilizes some UVpass data for which I need 32bit. This forces me to use 32bit float for the entire project which is not efficient.   Would be cool to see some new possibilities there.
