Feature Requests

We use premiere mostly for its ability to setup FAST Workflows for country and ratio adaptations incl custom MOGRTs. It seems the TEXT Parameters are not yet accessible as they were in the old CEP architecture.PLEASE make them available, its especially useful for enterprise customers working on productions with thousands of assets.

How it is right now: If you want to zoom in on a timeline, you press Alt+Scroll. If you want to move timeline left/right to go over your project, you just Scroll.How I want it to be: Scroll to zoom in, Alt+Scroll to move left/right (reversing keys) From my experience, zooming in is much more important than just moving left/right. I recorded myself editing and 80% of the time I would zoom in, and 20% move left/right. I say we change that and prioritize zooming in. Alt Scroll is a relatively hard combination. You need to stretch your thumb in a way that leaves your left hand disjointed from the keyboard and then you need to readjust it after pressing Alt. Zooming in is one the most basic element of editing and navigating timeline! If you change it, efficiency and fluidity of work will substiantially increase.

Since the 24.4 update that changed the interaction with transitions between clips, you can no longer grab the clip break line with ripple, rolling edit, slip tools etc when your mouse is in the red area and you have a transition applied.You can only grab it when your mouse is in the green area which is very fiddly to do since it tries to click on the transition itself, rather than the edit point.It gets even harder when the track is shrunk to a small size and the relative red deadzone is still there but now the grabbable sections are even smaller. Please fix this by allowing these tools to grab ANYWHERE on the edit break line like it previously used to 

Hi! Please bring back the old behavior where clip label colors in the Project panel are reflected automatically in the Timeline. Now in version 25 of premiere pro, i have to manually label each clip in the timeline. Before where timeline clips automatically inherited the label color from the Project panel — was faster and more intuitive. 

After transferring a project and its media to another disk, I noticed that the absolute path is still used.The original path in that case is a dying harddrive but it still is connected as I need it.The thing is: why is the original path even used in that situation? The structure of the project didn’t change, only the drive did. Now I have to go through the process of offline all the media and relink it manually. There should be an easier way to do that and from my perspective, I would prefer it, if relative paths were the default, not absolute ones.

In it's core this request is about:Being able to edit intuitively within large and complex timelines consisting of many overlapping audio and video tracks (via Asymmetric Trimming):I’ve read a lot of similar Avid trimming tool requests on this forum, but because it might be difficult to understand the why of those nagging "trim trim trim" requests if you’re not coming from Avid, I thought it might be better to show than to tell.To prevent getting buried in a 5 page thread, I’m putting up a new one instead. Apologies in advance!1. Asymmetric TrimmingEasily choose which track ripples while trimming, and which track stays put.*IN PREMIERE: You can select asymmetrically, but you have to be pinpoint precise with mouse clicking. And if you miss, you loose all prior selections (which you can’t restore).2. Easy flagging the A/B trim sides (via lassoing)Because when you cut timelines with multiple overlapping audio tracks underneath the image (which you want to keep at a specific point in time)

When there are multiple clips selected and there are gaps between each clip; to be able to drag the start and/or end of one of the clips out and it will effect all of the other clips selected. (See screen recording to see that only one of the clips gets effected by dragging out and not all)Of course, the effect of this idea would only go as far as the shortest gap between any one of those clips but there’s been a few instances in my workflow where I’ve need to drag out the ends of multiple clips, especially with Adjustment layers that have various FX on them etc.Also for when an AI cutting tool has gone and cut too much silence and it just needs 1 or 2 frames extended on each clip (in this case there doesn’t specifically need to have gaps between each clip

In photoshop, you can set the settings so that when you copy a layer, it doesn't add the word "copy" to the new title. Premiere should also have this feature, plus the ability to choose how duplicate files are appended. Premiere currently adds “Copy 01” and successive numerical values to each copy of the original. I would want the numerical value to be added, but starting with “_02” (since the original, which isn’t numbered, would still be the first), but the word “copy” not included. This also prevents extra long file names when copying copies - e.g. “Name copy 01 copy 01” instead would be “Name_01_01”. Or have an additional setting to make it default to making the new copy be in sequential order to the existing numerical thread - in other words. If there are 5 files… going up to Name_05, and you copy Name_02, then the duplicate would become Name_06.Batch renaming would also be a helpful feature. Highlight a group of clips, enter an asset name, and direct premiere how to sequentialize

I am Airtel user but can't use premium features 

I’d love to be able to give caption clips different label colors in the Timeline, just like video and audio clips.For example, I may have regular dialogue captions and separate sound descriptions like [birds chirping] or [singing in Spanish]. If I later merge them onto one track for an SRT export, different colors would make it much easier to keep track of what is what.

While export to AME out of After Effects, it creats an “.aep_AME” Folder. Where the footage goes. Not so out of Pr. We always have to look for an good or right path. We can select, one folder, but I wanna a folder in the Project file. Not somehow on the Computer

In all past premiere pro versions a user can simply undock a folder, (by double clicking on a folder in the project window), and place that folder into any other window they’d like. With beta mode, this folder option is not available and is very frustrating to click between footage or assets when you constantly have to keep double clicking to either go forward or back

When I create captions from a transcript, I often catch spelling mistakes, punctuation issues, and incorrect names while working on the subtitles.It would be really helpful if corrections made in the captions could also update the original transcript. On a long project with hundreds of subtitles, having to correct the same mistake twice is pretty time-consuming.

In the properties panel, it would be nice to have an align tool for footage. Let’s say I have a single clip in a 9x16 sequence, and I reduce the scale so that the clip doens’t fill the whole frame, it would be great to press an align tool to have it automatically snap to the top or bottom of the frame, instead of doing a position adjustment manually. 

Hi All,   Note: ONLY Windows version of Premiere Pro is suffering from the following:   Adobe, It would be AWESOME if "Dark Mode" was COMPLETELY dark, the current UI looks like it is half-baked and inconsistent. I spend a lot of hours creating videos, and this inconsistency is hurting my eyes. Photoshop looks way better but still suffers from the inconsistent theming as well (still have light dropdown menu)   Parts that need to be properly themed: 1) Title bars 2) Menus bar 3) Dropdown menus (both, the one under the Title bar and the one that appears when clicking the right mouse button) 4) Maybe I missed something too ???   My suggestion is to include TWO theming option: Light Theme And Dark Theme that will make the UI COMPLETELY dark

When going through interviews to correct transcripts I want to be able to watch video in sequence at 1.5 speed or 2x  speed

When clicking the “Select All Matching” tool - it would be awesome to have a filter where you can only select the Enabled/Disabled clips. In my case I would like to select all “Disabled” clips so I can ripple delete (instead of going through the timeline and manually selecting all the Disabled clips). However when I press “Select All Matching” (after selecting a clip) it will just select the matching SEQ/Footage/etc.Also if there’s a way of doing this I would love to know thank you!  

I understand why you can’t add masks with tracking to source effects, but why can’t I just add non-trackable masks?Use case: I have a timeline with clips from 10 different interviews. Every time Subject A’s interview is used, I want to create a vignette using Lumetri with an ellipse mask. The mask never moves or is tracked, because the interview shot is a lock-off.Currently I need to copy and paste the Lumetri effect to every instance of that clip on the timeline, which is slow and tedious. It also means if I want to tweak the mask or the effect, I need to remove it again and re-copy/paste.Adding the effect with a static mask as a source effect would solve all of these problems.

If the object motion tracking features were added to the premiere 2026 version, it would have been very useful for professional editors like us, except for the other new features that have been added.They are excellent.

It would be helpful if when you clicked on a text layer in the Timeline, the layer it coresponds to in the layers list of the Properties panel was automatically selected.This would make it WAY easier and faster to change the font size of multiple text layers quickly.Right now you have to click on the text layer in the Timeline, then select the layer again in the Properties menu, then adjust the font size (even when there are no other text layers in the same graphic). Thus if you have multiple text layers on the timeline, it becomes extremely time consuming to try out different font sizes.

It’s been over a year since the CleanFont hack has been removed, and the general user interface font is still incredibly small. All of the new AI stuff is great, but being able to red the screen is something we need to do EVERY DAY.  Can we please have some kernal of knowledge that this is being addressed?

I cannot mute effects globally without first activating the program panel. Please make it available throughout Premiere , or also available in Effects Control panel and Lumetri Panel. Does this not make more sense? Constant low grade annoyance for me as I grade, to mouse all the way across my screen just to toggle effects off and on.

As a Creative Cloud User (single user only) I would like to to see Feature Enhancement for this level to include Passphrase protection.To move to Pro Level is not viable if you are not doing work for commercial gain.Maybe a ‘small’ annual subscription would be appropriate - but I mean small !Just an idea.No Frame.io Forum from what I see (third party operated ?) so including in Premiere Community.Sending emails to Frame.io support produced nil result - not even a no, sorry.

Hello ! Context :I'm using Premiere Pro daily with a timeline opened in my Source Monitor to have a similar configuration than the "Toggle Source/Record" from Avid. I find this workflow to be a lot more precise and pleasing than pancaked timelines, as you can anticipate exactly the start and end frame when puttings clips on the program timeline, and use the two monitors efficiently. This way of working in Premiere works actually works, but there are a few annoying bugs and small things missing that are really painful when using this workflow daily. This bug/feature which is here since a long timeline is one of the reasons this workflow sometimes feels painful (see this and this topic). The bug :Open multiple timelines both in the Program Monitor and the Source Monitor through the wheel and "Open in Timeline".Save the project and close Premiere Pro.Reopen the project.The previously opened timeline in the Program Monitor will be reopened, but the previously opened tim

Batch export subtitles in TXT format from multiple clipsI work with a lot of testimonials and would like a feature that allows me to export the transcripts generated by Premiere Pro in batch—covering multiple clips—so I can create a script or something similar based on those various transcripts.
