InDesign

Hello, My CC library has never worked properly. This is a shared library across our company. The library populates all colors and images when opening either InDesign or Illustrator, but when I go to apply anything within the library, nothing happens. I've narrowed it down to a user/computer issue as other users who uses the same library, have no issues.  I have taken many actions to fix this myself but have not made any progress. 1. Uninstall and reinstall CC desktop app.2. CC Cleaner tool run 1: Library installations only.3. CC Cleaner tool run 2: Cleaned all installations. I've attached a screen recording what happens when using the CC library within InDesign. I'm at my wits end here. Does someone have a solution to my problem?

Lorsque je zoome sur une page et que je la déplace à l’aide de l’outil Main (touche Espace), les éléments de la composition qui sortent du champ n'apparaissent pas correctement lorsque je les fais revenir dans le champ : des cassures visuelles apparaissent exactement à l’endroit où les images étaient coupées par les bords de la fenêtre.J’utilise une carte graphique RTX A4000 avec les derniers pilotes à jour.Auriez-vous quelques pistes de recherche à conseiller ?Merci pour votre aide !Cdt  

Hey,I was checking the document, and i saw that the index was created manually, and i was wondering if it was possible to create an automatic index without losing the style it has. I put this little detail, since I would love to keep they way it looks, and my fear that it might look like a table of content of a book.

Bonjour, Je suis sur Macbook Air M2 Sonoma en 14.5Depuis quelques temps j'ai un problème avec  InDesign (et seulement in design). Lorsque celui-ci se lance il se lance sur l'ecran de mon M2 mais lorsque je veux déplacer ma fenètre InDesign sur mon 2ème écran (HDMI) la fenetre est indeplaçable. Au mieux en décochant la fonction "cadre de l'application dans fenêtre" je peux deplacer mon espace de travail et les outils 1 à 1. La manipulation reste fastidieuse et je souhaiterai trouver ce qui m'empêche par un simple glisser-déposer de déplacer mon app InDesign dans son intégralité et en 1 fois sur mon 2ème écran.Merci à tous pour votre aideCaroline

I'm looking to export from one InDesign document multiple double-sided pdfs, as separate pdfs. By double-sided I mean 2 x single pages together in one pdf – not double-page spreads. Here's the situation – I frequently work for large companies to produce printed graphics for events. We often do things like double-sided food and drinks menus, double sided drinks coasters, double-sided postcards, gift cards etc. Quite often we have the same design being used across multiple items but with individual variations. For example, 20 x drinks coasters, all with the same colours, same font styling, same format, same logo placement but with a different message on each one. So I usually set these up in InDesign to make use of the master layouts and paragraph/character styles incase I need to change any of the styling, which then updates all of them in one go. That's all well and good. I've been publishing online magazines for an organisation that I volunteer for for some time now and it works well, but on the latest issue I've had a query about someone who wants to download a PDF version.  I have never really bothered about this because I don't see the point as it's a digital online edition and why would you want to download as a PDF.  Anyway, this person is pointed out that when they download the PDF version none of the interactive elements work and they are presented with blank pages where the interactive elements should be.My missing something obvious or is this not supported.https://indd.adobe.com/view/c40714f7-7326-459d-a375-f6a5d1985f2c

Hi, Dear Friends!My ID is getting a little sluggish (which is the main reason I left MS Word for page layout. Yes, I have a lot of scripts, but I am not running them all at once, so why should this be happening? I am a super fast system, Windows 11 with plenty of RAM - 

Currently, I convert .indd to .idml manually using Adobe InDesign (File → Save As → Choose file format type -> choose the location → save).Can this process be automated via an API so it run without requiring Adobe InDesign to be installed? Is there any official API available for this?

Convert the point type (e.g., to a smooth or corner point) is missing from the properties panel. I can't for the life of me find it anywhere and the intuitive panel is no showing me the option anymore. Please help. Here is an example:I am trying to round the node circles, but the option to do so from the properties panel is no longer displaying there.   

I want to release overflow text within cells.The prerequisite is to identify columns containing overflow text, then set the minimum width for those columns. Perhaps there's no way to directly release columns with overflow.Do I need to set a possible cellwidth?

Didn't Helen Keller say: "Do not tell me it cannot be done!" With the help of AI I created a script to get the *first word* of the text frame in a thread *that comes after the currently selected text frame and insert that word into a third text frame. Works great. But sometimes the contents of the story change, and in turn, that first word of the next frame in the thread. Is there a way to cause the text in the third text frame to be updated dynamically so I don't have to keep deleting that frame and running the script again and again? So what we want here is some type of expression like: MyText = (first word of text frame XYZ) (from my Pascal days) inside the properties of text frame 3. Hello. I am trying to package a 44-page portfolio, but I am having a small issue when I open the PDF in the portfolio. Whenever I open the PDF, the pages that are spreads are showing up as separate pages. I have messed with a lot of settings since such as printer presets and looking into the document and layout. I would like to mention that in these attempts I have indeed changed everything to spreads when it comes to export and printing settings in which I find do not affect the packaging, at least how I would like it to. I haven't had any issues in the past, and I hadn't touched any settings, so I am not sure why this is happening. The only thing that might have changed this is that I republished my file online as a live link as I needed to add my portfolio to my resume as a hyperlink. When opening the file, you can change the view to spreads and even separate the title page; however, the pages are still separate and even have a spacing between them. I have a 39pg. InDesign document that I have been working in for the past year (professional portfolio, so I have saved a copy multiple times. Mainly consists of graphic images and GIS maps, the issue is with the text boxes) and the text keeps disappearing and freezing in whatever text box I am working in. I recently graduated and switched from my school account to a private subscription, and that is when the problem started. The text will disappear from the text box for upwards to 3-5 minutes and only reappear when I start just scrolling up and down in the document, and then it reappears in strips and chunks. The cursor will flash in the blank text box and I can type on my keyboard and changes will be there when the text reappears, but I can't see what I'm doing. This is happening multiple times a minute - almost every time I add a word or make a change - except of course when I shared my screen with support. Hi all, I'm having a strange issues whereby the current page marker on my A-Parent page only applies to the first two characters. Basically, the traditional style numbering only applies to the first two characters, and for Roman numerals, only the first two letters are in small caps. See examples in the picture. I've tried this with different styles (and no styles) applied, so the issue isn't to do with the style itself. There is no GREP style applied to the first two characters, or any nested style etc. Any ideas? 

The boxes don't appear in paragraph styles to define a dashed rule width like they do when you just select the rules not in paragraph styles. Is there a way to do this and make it a style?

I had been working on a project in InDesign, and recently switched from PC to Mac.I think I installed a new font on the PC.  When I open the file in Mac InDesign, it shows 6 fonts are missing.  What the heck.  Has anyone dealt w/ something similar.  I guess I have to install those fonts first to Mac, then open the file.  Any advice?  I did install the font to Mac, and InDesign is still showing missing multiple fonts.  

Hi there, I have 5 boxes set up in an InDesign CMYK doc. Each of those shapes is filled with a CMYK swatch. I want to add them to a CC library. If I select the 5 boxes and do "add to CC library, extract from image," it creates RGB swatches. I know this because when I add them into another CMYK InDesign doc into the swatches, they are all RGB. Thank you for any advice, I'll like to have them added as CMYK swatches. 

Hi everyone, when I export an INDD file to PDF, red lines appear. It looks like InDesign is cutting the background image into lots of little squares during export because when I open the PDF (With Adobe PDF pro), I can select these little boxes and even delete them. Does anyone know how to avoid this? It's for a CMYK export.

This is getting to be annoying. Whenever I'm working in InDesign, if I pause my work for a period of time, the screen either goes to gray and then to pink. I can't see a thing. I'm continually having to quit out of InDesign and reopen if I want to continue working on a document. Any ideas why this is happening?

When I set my Paragraph Style to Middle East Character Formats > Character Direction > Right to Left, the percentage displays correctly on the left side of the number, but the numbers themselves are flipped.   When I set the Character Direction to Default, the numbers display normally, but the percentage sign shifts to the right side, which is incorrect.  When I set the Character Direction to Left to Right, everything is mirrored.I’ve already set the language to Arabic and tested all possible character direction combinations, but none provide the correct result.   

Hi, recently we updated the ID and IC to higher version, and find that the indicator for overset content in text frame is now by default transparent, rather not visible. Until we select and focus on that particular text frame, the indicator turns red. But the default indicator color could cause designer miss out the error. May I know if any tips on preferences or other settings for adjusting the indicator presentation? Please find the screenshots below for references of before/after selecting the text frame and how the indicator appears. Thanks.   

I'm doing some packaging design and trying to fit ingredients list into limited space. Please help me with how to get the text to not break when there is clearly space for the text to go, if it hyphenates. I have changed the hyphenation settings which helps a little but I still get space left. (see picture, calcium is left with an empty space) Theres no right indent, the rag is off, I have turned on single line composer. Not sure what else I can do? Help!!!
