I am using a data merge for a brochure I am working on. In the brochure there are tables, I would like to remove any cells which are empty by using a script. I have found several online and added them into the script folder (not all at the same time), however I get an error every time. Can anyone help - please?

I’ve had this issue on Windows and Mac where the Links panel > Show/Hide Information doesn’t work. When I open an InDesign file, the panel shows the Link Info. However, if I need more space to see other panels, I click the Link Info ˅ to collapse the panel. That part works. What doesn’t work is trying to relaunch it. I click the Link Info and nothing happens. I have to close InDesign and open it back up. This happens from the time I install the Adobe apps, so I don’t see this as being a Preferences issue. It’s been a problem for many years. Anyone know of a workaround?   

Hi AllAgain, with a version update glitch that hasn’t been fixed in a few updates.My team uses placed InDesign files in InDesign as a way to use the same content across multiple projects eg. a layout of logos, etc. It’s an ideal way with our workflow and we’ve been doing it for years, we’re not on here to look for a solution for that as everyone’s documents and workflows are different and there’s so many other uses we do this for.Recently, we’re exporting .pdfs and the vector logos that are placed onto pages are exporting as blank shapes where the logos should be. They look fine on the InDesign document before we export, but the .pdf is wrong. A fix each time we encounter it is that we edit the original by putting a blank frame on the page, deleting it and saving the file. We’ve discovered the files are always saved in the most recent version of InDesign, but before that didn’t matter.Any help (or a bug fix) would be greatly appreciated. Windows 11 x64 bit, saving files on OneDrive, In

There are blue dots peppered in the menus, hinting at "new features".  They are supposed to go away once you actually use this feature.    However for quite some time now for me those blue dots return, when not at fresh PC boot then at least after any oh so minor update of InDesign.    Since there seems to be no setting to not "bother" me with new "features", is there any workaround? Do I need to set write rights to folders/files or something like that?

Hi,We are having an issue with Adobe InDesign where files saved on a network drive are opening as read-only. What’s happening:Files open as read-only for multiple users Save option forces “Save As” On the server, files show as open by a user That user does not actually have the file openWhat I’ve checked:Users confirmed file is not open on their device Checked open sessions on the server > It shows as the file being open by the user eventhough it’s not Disabled Preview Pane in Windows Explorer Deleted .idlk lock files where found Copied files locally → works fine (not read-only) Checked permissions (all OK) Restarted machines Updated InDesign to latest versionThis is happening across multiple files and users, only on the network drive. Any ideas what could be causing this?Thanks

Hello All,I am developing a C++ plugin on InDesign Server 2026, where I need to resize the margins on the Master Pages. And based on new Inside / Outside margin values need to adjust the text frames (left and right ) on the master page. I tried adjusting through C++ functions like SetPathBoundingBox() / SetStrokeBoundingBox() /  Utils<Facade::IGeometryFacade>()->SetItemsBounds(). We noticed the text frame does not resize correctly. it leaves spaces either on Left or Right side.I also tried calling java script to use the option AutoAdjustLayout which is on Margins dialog.var mydoc = app.documents.item(0);var myadjustprefs = mydoc.adjustLayoutPreferences;myadjustprefs.enableAdjustLayout = true;This does set the option as selected but does not reflect the text frames.Has anyone tried this. Any advice or help would be really helpful.Thanks & RegardsFarzana.

After updating InDesign to 21.3 it broke DLLs and will not open. Error: “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)” You can repair C++ redistribution (although that is a temporary fix as InDesign will break the DLLs again) Uninstalling 21.3 and installing 20.5.3 is recommended.

problema: ogni volta che importo o comunque aggiungo una forma, o aggiungo un pdf al file, non mi fa aggiungere testi sopra, o me li fa scomparire o mi modifica il testo in modo che non sia sopra alla forma o al pdf. Anche se l'immagine o forma è in un livello sottostante al testo che inserisco, non me lo fa vedere. come posso risolvere?

For the past few months, I’ve been able to work around this issue, but it has now reached a point where I can’t. When exporting PNG files in Adobe InDesign, the drop shadows shift position during export. The shadows appear correctly within InDesign, but once the PNG is exported, the shadows are visibly displaced from their original placement. 先日、クライアント（Windows環境）から入稿されたInDesignデータを、弊社のMac環境で開いた際に発生した画像回転のトラブルについて、共有と合わせて皆様の知見をお伺いしたく投稿いたしました。【こちらの作業環境】 マシン： MacBook Pro (2019) OS： macOS 15.4 (Sequoia) アプリケーション： InDesign 2026 (v21.4) ※入稿元のWindowsマシンの詳細スペックは不明です。 【現象】 ドキュメント内に配置されていた画像が、Macで開いた途端に勝手に回転（90度など）して表示されてしまう。【原因と判明したこと】 配置されていた画像が、iPhoneの撮影フォーマットである「HEIC形式」でした。 検証したところ、OS（または各OS版InDesign）によってHEICの回転情報（メタデータ）の解釈が異なることが原因のようです。 Windows側： 回転情報を読み込まず、生データの向き（正位置に見える状態）のまま配置。制作者は手動での回転処理などは行っていない。 Mac側： HEICの回転情報を自動で適用してしまうため、Macで開いた時点で画像がグルッと回って表示される。 【今回の対応】 今回はこちら（Mac側）で、該当のHEIC画像をPhotoshopで開き、DTPで安全な「PSD形式」に変換・保存し直した上で、InDesign側で再リンクと角度の初期化（0°）を行い対応しました。クライアントへは次回以降、最初からPSDやJPEG等に変換して配置してもらうようお願いをしています。DTPの現場においてHEICの直接配置は避けるのが鉄則ではありますが、近年はノンデザイナーや自治体の内製データなどでHEICがそのまま入稿されるケースが増えていると感じています。同じような「OS間でのHEIC画像の挙動のズレ」を経験された方はいらっしゃいますでしょうか？ バージョン特有の挙動（InDesign 2026固有のバグ、あるいはmacOS 15系の仕様など）について何かご存知のことがあれば、教えていただけますと幸いです。また、もし他にも「こういう対策や一括変換の工夫をしている」といった運用上の知見がございましたら、ぜひお聞かせください。よろしくお願いいたします。

I need to stop the annoying pop up that is asking from me to use adobe express. 

Has anyone else had to repeatedly uninstall the InDesign updates AFTER Version 21.1 x64…..From Version 21.2 onward I have had to remove it and revert back to the earlier version. This will be the 4th version that won’t work, because InDesigns keeps hanging after I import an image. The only way out of it is to force close InDesign and uninstall the offending version and reinstall the previous stable version. This is my 30th year with Adobe, and the last thing I expected was a monumental stuff up with a program that I use daily. I have been putting up with it, but now I am pretty much over it. Can anyone shed some light on the issue, please? I really would like to get my moneys worth from my long standing Creative Cloud subscription.Note the blue circle in the image, which continues to spin until I force close InDesign and uninstal this version and reinstall the previous version.

Já reportei este problema, mas com as atualizações do InDesign e do Windows, isso se resolveu; mas agora, novamente, as fontes estão aparecendo em negrito em partes do texto, mesmo o estilo correspondente não conter esta opção:Adobe, por favor me informe, quando o programa funcionará sem problemas após atualizações do Windows e do programa? Essa mudança de estilo muda todo o espaçamento do arquivo e desconfigura o documento que não pode seguir para a produção. 😔

I recently updated my InDesign to 21.4 and now it crashes every few minutes. There isn’t a consistent reason it crashes—it crashed when I highlighted a line of text to copy one time, when I tried to save the file another time, and in the middle of typing yet another time.I disabled generative AI (as seen on other suggestions), which didn’t change anything. When opening or saving my files, none have a corrupt warning, so I know it’s not that. My Macbook is also up to date. I’m at a standstill now for my workday because this is my main tool to use. Is there a known bug for this, or a known fix? Thanks!

I created a new plugin and posted a message with a link to Git to the community, but after that, I can no longer log in to the community with that account. I'm now trying to post using a different account.It seems Adobe Support cannot address community issues. I would like to know the reason why I can no longer log in with my original account and have it restored.

Hi,After installing the latest version of InDesign (v. 21.4), objects are not shown correctly (like before).When I make objects with a stroke (e.g. a square with a stroke), the stroke is not shown at all. And if I make an object with rounded corners, the corners are not shown correctly. See attached screenshot. When I try to set transparency in Effects (e.g. 50 %), that is also not showing, the box is shown 100 % white none the less.If I generate a PDF everything is shown correctly there.Display performance is set to high quality, so that should not be a problem.Does anyone have a clue about this problem? Please help me!

Undo is not available for anything like moving an object or changing color.

Since the version 20, InDesign has been struggling to deal with hyperlinks in the footnotes, which leads the app to crash. This topic is related here since the 2019 CC and it doesn’t get resolved.It's been challenging to get work done with these kinds of problems. I’ve already reinstaled InDesign, disabled Windows Updates and One Drive, deleted preferences, and none of that seems to work.Please, can someone give me a hint on how to deal with it?

I have a 300 page document that is fairly complex, meaning that it has many text boxes. My client asked for a docx file of the text. If I export to a PDF and try to do it in Acrobat, Acrobat crashes. I know I can copy out of the story editor, but that would require dozens of manual copies because there are so many text boxes. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!

I’m trying to create my first cross reference (which I’ve never done before). Instructions for doing it through Type / Hyperlinks & Cross References say:Create a text anchor: open the Hyperlinks or Cross‑References panel menu → New Hyperlink Destination → choose Type: Text Anchor → name the anchor and click OK.But it won’t let me name the anchor. All the drop-down shows is [None]. I’ve also tried creating a name anchor through Windows / Interactive / Hyperlinks. I seem to have successfully created a name anchor there, but when I use Type / Hyperlinks & Cross References to create the link it doesn’t show up in the Text Anchor names.

Since updating to this version I’ve been having an accessibility issue and wondered if I should be rolling back to a prior version? It now adds unnecessary "span" tags to my PDF documents exported from InDesign, which is interfering with their accessibility and requires too much manual processing to correct.The steps I'm following are:1. Create a bullet list in inDesign using paragraph styles.2. Ensure the export tag for that paragraph style is set to "automatic".2. Export to PDF, selecting "Create a Tagged PDF".3. When opening the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro, the nesting order for bullet lists should be: List > List Item > Label and List Item Body.4. However, after the update it's now adding "span" tags under every "label" folder."Span" is an inline-level tag used for styling or formatting, it's not meant for structural elements like list labels. This is laborious to have to fix manually, even more so given I generally make a second, text only version of all my PDFs.Grate
