Hi, I am super desperate here. It all started 3 days ago when a plugin I use for font management (Extensis Connect) started bugging out and wouldn't let me open any Adobe programs. I completely removed/uninstalled it and Photoshop and Illustrator are working normally. However Indesign, as per usual, is a buggy mess. When I open the program from either the shortcut, windows menu, or taskbar it flashes the splash screen for about 2 seconds before disappearing. Never opening no matter how many times I try. I have uninstalled the plugin completely. I have uninstalled and reinstalled indesign about 7 times, all different versions to test if its a recent bug. It does not appear to be limited to one version. I also have a disk utility cleaner with my antivirus, this has worked in the past with deleting broken paths, etc but of course, it has not rectified the problem. Please please please tell me how to fix this I am at my witts end and there are files I need to work on for cli

Hi,in InDesign I need to make a small stroke move from page to page. This stroke will start on a page in the left-hand corner and as you get to the final pages of the book the stroke will move to the right. Does anyone know how to do this? Is it possible to automate it? Do you know any scripts?It would be great if this line could be aligned automatically.

I am running into issues and I need guidance, please. I want to line up the numbered text blocks. All the numbers are anchored to the bullet symbol in the main text block. At the top of each page should list the scripture number in bold and the verse number after the colon. Going down the pages lists just the verse numbers. I have them set up to align to the baseline grid and the spine and they are all right justified in the styles. I have a paragraph style and character style for each of the two different numbers styles. I also set up Object styles with paragraph, size and position, and anchored objects, but they do not seem to line up correctly. I am not sure how to balance the left and right-numbered text blocks so that they are equal distances from the center main text block.Any suggestions would be great as I have struggled with this for several days, ugh! 

I have recently developed a problem whilst using InDesign. My cursor doesn't move fluidly, rather it starts 'stuttering' and sometimes freezing altogether. I am running Windows 11 (completely updated) on a AMD Ryzen 7 5700 with 64GB of RAM. Two NVidia GeForce RTX 3060s with up-to-date graphics drivers. I have uninstalled InDesign and deleted all preferrences and traces of the software and reinstalled and still have the same issue (the attached video is of a clean reinstall). I have tried with other Adobe software open and no other adobe software. I have tried with my standard apps open, I have tried with nothing open. I have tried after running my desktop for a while, I have tried after a complete shutdown and restart of the desktop (I even went so far as to unplug the desktop and plug it back in so there would be no question of the restart). The video shows InDesign after I opened it, and I am moving the mouse the whole time, you can see it freeze up and stutter. So I often have to cover up a paragraph of text of a flattened PDF and add new text for my job. When I try to use the eye dropper tool and cover it with a rectangle, it doesn't come out the exact same color. So my work around is usually to duplicate the background image, and crop it just to the size I need to cover up the old text to ensure the color comes out the same. most of the time this works, but once in a while, the exported PDF shows a white edge around where I cropped, even though its not visible in InDesign. Any suggestions?

Hi! I have a large document and wanted to create an automated way to insert the title of my sections within the document in every page’s top right corner: in this example, we have the section “group 1B” and “group 1C”. But by adding sections, my total page number is messed up, indesign seems to only count up to the next section created. To go around this, I’m adding my total page number in the master page instead of leaving it as the variable Last page number. Still, I wanted to know if there’s a better way to do this…Thanks!

I am hoping to learn how I can turn bullet points into interactive checkboxes via the interactive PDF capabilities within indesign. I dont want to have to make individual squares and apply the checkbox state to them because then all the text I write may change and I will have to move the checkboxes around each time. can this be done?

I am unsing a custom font in my InDesign projects (Monteserrat) but for somereason the font is highlighted pink as if uninstalled, even though I see it in my document (and at the top of my font list with the cloud and check mark). Please help!     

I have a large catalogue document which needs to be published online with interactivity. I did this last year with no issues and now an updated version of the same document is giving me grief.The products are all within threaded text frames. Each product is inside its own table (to stop the product breaking over columns/pages). Each product table has a cell with a product image, and anchored images for a QR code and an icon, as well as various text and another table of the product details within the product table.When I publish online all of the product images, QR codes, and icons are all moving about ~1cm to the left. how to copy a table from acrobat and paste into indesign?

I have been working on my indesign file every day and regularly save this. Every night I copy the saved file onto my hard drive/ lacee, to have this backed up. I woke up this morning, 20th March, to seeing three days worth of work erased, and for the file on my hard drive to say that it was last modified on the 17th March. Is my work safe? How do I restore this work or have I lost it?

We're unable to open InDesign pages that have been shared via Creative Cloud while we're connected to Cloudflare WARP. When we try to open the pages, Indesign will open, but nothing happens, no error messages or anything. We are able to place items from CC libraries from with ID while connected, and the pages open fine when not connected. I've found the white list and sent it to IT, but in the meantime, is there anything else we should be looking at?

Indesign 19.5. Sonoma 14.6.1 For some reason Hyperlinks to text anchors in seperate interactive pdfs doesn't appear to work, if I roll back a version all still working. Have I missed somthing or is this something that will be addressed in an update? Simple sample project attached (not working obv.!) Bob

 hi everyone, in indesign when i want to change character by using the combination of shift + T then missing glyps occurs , i dont know whats going wrong here, and there is no missing glyp turn off feature in indesign prefrences, i am on Mac , but when i open new file and using combination of Shft + t the character is not giving any issue of missing glyps . please help

Per fare questo ho cambiato il vecchio e buon mac pro e passato a mac studio (il sistema operativo non consentiva l'aggiornamento di adeobe!).Speravo che in questa versione di Indesign il problema del controller dei video su pdf interattivo fosse finalmente risolto. Flash è "morto" circa 5 anni fa, è possibile che nessun altro programma / plugin non sia riuscito a rimediare a questo problema? Anche Power point riesce a inserire video con comandi / controller direttamente nelle pagine... Indesign no? Although it is easy enough to remove them using Regex, they are screwing with my footnote output on export. I have "create a link to text or spreadsheet" checked, but whenever I import a Word file, the link does not show up in InDesign under "links."Any guidance on this?

Hi, I am doing loads of tutorials, googling etc as a newbie - across LinkedIn Learning, YouTube, internet search, chatgpt etc - but I keep running into challenges where even the most basic information on how to do things is missing. Firstly, I want to import photos into Adobe Bridge but all the videos I've watched and online instructions I can find are about importing from camera. So I'm assuming if I want to upload photos from my computer,  I just copy the images from my computer and paste into an Adobe Bridge folder - but I want to ensure they remain high quality with that method. Do I just copy and paste. Also, I can't find out which main preset folder in Adobe Bridge I save the content into. My purpose of using Adobe Bridge is so that if I lose my computer or hard drive or I cancel my OneDrive subscription, all my links in InDesign won't be broken. But the options I'm being given inside Adobe Bridge are desktop, documents, downloads, one drive, this PC etc. Whic
