Hi All Started to rebuild a new index for the next edtition of a 500 page manual I used the existing INDEX template and found it difficult and confusing to remove all the redundant markers etc   This worked a treat - cleaned everything with no ghost markers to be found   Step 1. Open your whole book click on find/change under "find what" click on the @symbol click on markers --> then index marker leave change to: blank under search, search "all documents" Then "change all"   Step 2. (can you believe it?) remove unused topics from index menu check reference and book highlight (click on) any indexed topic go to top right menu and "remove unused topics"   Tah DAH - all index markers are deleted and your old index is clean ready to rebuild Whew!! you're welcome      All this SHOULD be an ID single click menu option. WHY? For all of us who rebuild indexes for the same book/manual/document requiring all old/dead/deleted (but not deleted)

How do I get email addresses to link within InDesign just as hyperlinks are able to link URLs?

Whenever I want to export something from InDesign the quality takes a massive dip and this is not what I want. How can I fix this? I export in High Quality, 300 dpi but still shows me alot of pixels. All Images are linked.

En la captura de pantalla adjunta, se puede observar que en la ventana de preferencias, el espacio vertical y horizontal de la hoja está marcado en cero, pero el archivo coloca espacios verticales con medidas totalmente aleatorias en cada hoja.  ¿Es este comportamiento un error de programa, una configuración errónea, o el archivo se corrompió? Gracias. 

I was wondering, now that MacOS 15 has gotten released, are there any known issues with InDesign like we had with the last MacOS Sonoma update? Adobe hasn’t updated the system requirements yet to incllude Sequoia in the list, but they are not the fastest any more, also like we have learned last time.    I know, I’m not going to update to MacOS 15 right away anyways, cause I only have one working Mac nowadays, so I’ll wait for at least 15.1 maybe. Hi there!I'm having an issue after exporting pdfs from InDesign, where the fonts in my pdf look a bit wonky (for lack of a better word lol). I'm not sure if this is setting in InDesign or Acrobat. A screenshot is below. I feel like some lines look like different fonts - it should all be the same. It looks fine when I print it and also view it in InDesign, it is only happening in the PDF.  Computer specs: Macbook Pro M1 16GB ramOS: Sequoia 15.3.1 (24D70)Adobe InDesign 2025 version 20.2Acrobat version 24.5.20421.0 Exporting a pdf using the pre-made "high quality print" option in InDesign.  Thank you in advance!!!

Hello,Trying to create a label setup where I have 8 labels per sheet, two columns. I am trying get this numbering sequence to work, and cannot figure it out. The columns are cut in half as labels come of the roll.  In the end I would have two rolls.Sheet one numbers: 1    92   103   114   12Sheet two numbers: 5  136  147   158  16 currently its 1-8 on sheet one, 9016 sheet two.Any ideas?Thanks in advance. 

Je n'arrive plus à ouvrir mon fichier enregistré sur Creative Cloud. Même celui enregistré sur mon ordinateur ne veut plus s'ouvrir. Si je tente de récupérer le fichier, l'application se ferme.  HELP ME!!!

Ich bekomme folgende Fehlermeldung (im Anhang), wenn ich eine "alte" Datei öffne. Die "alte" Datei ist allerdings 2 Wochen alt und die Bilder wurden zuvor in einem Printmagazin von mir reingezeichnet und korrekt produziert – wie ich es seit über 7 Jahren tue. Es handelt sich bei der Meldung nicht um ein Bild oder zwei. Bei ALLEN bekomme ich die Meldung sie wären fehlerhaft und ich sollte sie umspeichern und neu laden! Wenn ich über "Anzeige" - "Anzeigeleistung" - "normale Anzeige" auswähle, werden mir die Bilder zumindest verpixelt angezeigt. Möchte ich aber die hohe Anzeige auswählen, kommt die Meldung zurück und ich kann buchstäblich nicht mehr im Programm weiterarbeiten, da das Pop-Up für JEDES einzelne Bild im Magazin aufpoppt. Wenn ich die 65 mal auf "ok" klicke, wird mir nur ein weißer Frame ohne Inhalt angezeigt.  Wurde hier beim Update eine Einstellung nicht übernommen an die ich gerade nicht denke oder wie kann ich diesen Fehler beheben? Danke im Voraus!

Since 2018, we have been using several scripts for PDF export, which worked perfectly. Hi,I just got back to InDesign after few years and I'm struggling with absolute basic stuff. I am editing a curve, for example - adding some anchor points to the object. When I want to zoom in using Cmd+ it zooms to the centre of the object and not the area I am editing, the actual anchor points. What is going on? Is this a normal behaviour? If so then it does not make any sense to me.Also - I am editing the same object and all of a sudden I want to zoom in to another object/text or whatever - it zooms again to the centre of the edited object and not the one I want to zoom in!?Does the zoom only work for the object/layer that is currently selected? Really? Please check the video to see what I mean. Screen Recording  Thanks a lot for any suggestions... D.

Hello!I have two documents with a table in which the row fill shows differently:I cannot determine why, because:both use the same color gradient (CMYK type, C=30, M=20, Y=19, K=58, Tint 10%)the "Transparency Blend Space" setting on both is the samethe "Proof setup" and "Proof colors" settings on both are the samethe "Fills" settings for the tables are identical I don't see why the grey fill on the left document is brighter. Do you have ideas what could cause could be? TIA.

So I've been working on this file for years, I was the one that set it up but today for some reason when I was pulling a guide from the ruler it did not stay. I check if I had the "Hide Guides" option on but that was not the case. Then I realized this was happening in certain pages. All of these pages are part of Parent A, and again, in some pages it's working, in some others it's not. In the image you can see the guides are working on Page 16 but not on page 17 even when the Show Guides option is on. Has this happened to anyone else? 

I do have the problem when i type "PJUC-1507/P"  changed to "PJUC1507-/P". But the "Convert Variable to Text" is not lighted up for me to select 😞. Unless put a space between "C" and "-"  (PJUC-1507/P) , then it shown correctly. May i know how to fix the problem, cause i done this file an year ago in InDesign.Just found this problem after i uploaded to 2025 - 20.2 version

Hi everyone, Has anyone ever encountered an issue in InDesign where a link appears as missing or needs updating, but there's no way to fix it? I can't delete it or relink it—it stays stuck with the error. Even clicking on "Go to Link" doesn’t work, nor does trying to relink it with another file. Any ideas on how to solve this? We are attempting to make 508(c) Accessible PDF file from client-suppied INDD files. They use graphics that are very complex: two or more financial charts with lots of auxiliary text. Luckily, they supply us with their own choice of Alternate Text,But my issue is getting the Alt Text to read out when exporting to an Accesible Acrobat PDF. I have tried all the permutations of the "Tagged PDF" tab; setting the "Apply Tag" to "From Structure" or to "Artifact," and pasting the Alt Text into the second Custom Text Source box.The Accessibility Check in Acrobat passes the PDF all right, but it either does not read back the Alt Text, or reads it back and all the other text in the Illustrator file.A little guidance in this would be greatly appreciated. We are working the job using INDD CS6, because our workplace doesn't have the budget yet to pay for CC subscriptions for every computer at the company. 

I need to override virtual void IControlView::Draw(IViewPort* viewPort, SysRgn updateRgn = nil); for StaticTextLabel. In this function, I need to use IGraphicsPort to draw some text with a CMYK color. However, after setting the CMYK color, the displayed color is incorrect. I suspect that it is not using the CMYK color space but instead the RGB color space.How can I draw text using CMYK colors in a StaticTextLabel inside an IDialog? Can anyone help me?

Hi,I set up a table of contents in InDesign (Layout -> Table of Contents). However, there is some extra text I want to add (highlighted in the image). As you can see, I was able to achieve this, but since it's not part of the TOC setup, it disappears every time I update the table of contents. Is there a way to set this up so that it always stays? Thank you!

I am creating an interactive PDF for a client. Now I have a layout with, for example, radio buttons with text yes/no. I have styled the buttons so that they contain the text yes/no. When I export the PDF, it looks good in preview and in some web browsers (Safari), but in PDF reader and Acrobat I just get circles with a check mark in them. So people don't know whether it is yes/no. I have already searched a lot and saw this script (https://answers.acrobatusers.com/Highlighted-Fields-forms-switched-opening-PDF-Form-created-How-this-q21870.aspx) and I have added it. However, this does not have the desired result. How can I let the client use my formatted PDF as it is formatted? Isn't this the whole point of the form functionality in InDesign that this works well?

Have several problems with interactive Indesign forms and hope the community can help (as Adobe chat can't). Firstly, I would need a button "send formular (via email)" - can be integrated, but does not work. It would be important to have this in the form as some of the interactive fields are compulsory, which is only checked when the form is send via the button. Moreover, I would like to change the design of checkboxes in Indesign, not later in Acrobat, as I want the forms after a rework to be ready made in Indesign and not to need being reworked in Acrobat. Next problem,  there is no possibility for a button in Indesign to save the form. This can only be done in Acrobat, which is odd......

Hi,  I really need help with this as I can't figure it out even after extensive google searches. Please refer to the screenshot below:I cannot edit the text in pink "iPadPro_MAG_AEEN_V2". And you can see how it appears in the layers panel - just simply as <text frame>. I can delete the whole line and add text after 'V2' but I cannot edit anything in between. Everything is unlocked on the spread.Am I missing something very obvious here?

Hello,Is there any way to retain the look of radio buttons or check boxes designed in InDesign after exporting to an interactive pdf. They always reset to the default Acrobat button styles when not in focus. I have tried it with buttons I have designed and using the sample radio buttons provided in the software and neither work.I understand what Acrobat is doing and why it is doing it, I just struggle to believe that they would include these buttons in the Interactive for PDF workspace if they don’t actually work in interactive pdfs. I am hoping I am missing something really obvious or there is a work-around.The form is nothing over the top, just a series of radio buttons and related questions. But my client wanted nicer looking buttons. Any help would be great!Thanks
