Windows 11, last version of Indesign.I have set the image description style as follows: before text insert Abb. ^# - , continue from the number before. See picture. The prompt is recognized, but the numbering does not work (see picture), with 2024 it did :-((((Any idea? 

I applied for the InDesign debug version a year ago, but even after a year, it is still in this state, and the button has always been in this state, and I cannot reapply. What could be the reason?

I am hoping this can get done through a paragraph style.I want to set up a style so that the first paragraph is not indented, but every paragraph that follows it will have the first line indented.Is this even possible to set up in a paragraph style?If so can someone point me in the right direction.

Hello everyone!I used the Ken Lunde Tutorial to change my InDesign with japanese functionality. I speak Spanish, but I had to change all my iOS UI in english (and my InDesign) in order to avoid any trouble with compatibility. I got to say it works perfect this way.With this tweak, I found a whole new world to discover and understand. In CJK everything works so differently than in Western style that sometimes it bring me new challenges. Because of this, I'm experiencing problems when I need to create paragraphs in Latin text and here is the thing:When I compose a paragraph, the auto-leading in japanese is way different than the auto-leading in western paragraphs.For example:In Japanese Text: Myriad Pro Regular 12 pt. has 21 pt. of leading (way bigger!)In Latin Text: Myriad Pro Regular 12 pt. has 14,4 pt. of leading. I wish I found something to change the default setting, but I can't. I just can change this manually, but every time I change the font size I got to change the leading

InDesign suddenly stopped printing in RGB; instead the entire document is printing in a strange greenish grey ; now it is grey scale. I have selected RGB output. This started soon after I tried multiple times to print a double sided document; the color was fine but the position was not. Then it turned into monochrome. I saved it as a PDF and printed from Acrobat; it prints grey. Photoshop prints correctly.

Hello, recently I bought brand new Asus ProArt laptop and when I tried to use Indesign app it was unusable. the scrolling speed with trackpad is EXTREAMELY FAST both horizontally and vertically. in the same amount of movementwith trackpad on other Adobe apps i move so slightly, while on indesign i skip FULL PAGES.Even when I tried to use external mouse it was too sensitive compared to sensitivity on Illustrator, both on 100% view ; not in the same insane speed while using the trackpad, but still brutally fastIn the Now, before you suggest me for a solution let me tell you what I already did:- I tried closing the app and reopen it- I tried restarting my computer- I checked for updates for my Indesign app; I have the last version- I checked for updates for my Windows version and mouse drivers- I tried reinstalling Indesign- I tried to downgrade all the available versions of Indesign on creative cloud app In the attached video I demonstrate the problem, and compare the scro

I understand how to turn off hyphenation in my InDesign document and I have it turned off everywhere that I know of, and hyphenation is no longer anywhere in used or placed in my document.However, when I place (Ctrl+D) a word document into my InDesign file it places it in there with hyphenation on. This is very annoying.Is there a way to make it so that when placing a word document into InDesign it will go into it with hyphenation turned off?As of right now it is always placed with hyphenation on and I have to manually highlight at the text once I import it and turn off hyphenation.

I'm creating a TOC for a 100+ page booklet. Everything looks great when I populated the TOC with the styles I have applied, however there is a random 2 between each entry, and after a while that changes from 2 to 3 between each entry. Help?   

PSD links in IND file are coming in blurry. The links are clean, and display performance is high. Some PSD files have no issue and others are blurry. What else could be causing this?  

Hi! My team and I are facing an issue with the quality of images when exporting a document from InDesign or Illustrator. Despite the images being high resolution when added to the working file, their quality decreases when converting the file to a PDF. Imac Retina, 2017OS: Ventura 13.7.1Indesign 20.1 (2025) Recently, Indesign has been crashing every few minutes, usually after one of several normal actions, such as coping an object (shortcut = Option+Shift), dragging a page to the Create New Page icon, or simply moving a page. It seems extremeley volitile, so I'm having to save after every action. I realise I'm not on the latest OS as the 2017 Imac doesnt support it, but I'd hope that the latest Indesign would still be supported by Ventura, in case that was the issue. Would be grateful for any ideas. 

Hi,I'm experiencing lately that Indesign is very slow even though I'm working on a very simple design. Backdrop 4m x 2,5 mts with a couple a png's and some vector illustations. Also with importing AI vecor files (complex but only 700 kb) Indesign is slow.I work on a iMac 2021 M1 16 Gb computer. So that can't be the problem. Who is having the same problem?Is this something between Adobe and MacOS Monterey?

After updating InDesign 2025 on February 3rd I have notived that when I try to duplicate an element by using the option click command the app just crashes and closes.What can I do to fix it?Thank you.

I have a data merge document with 12 coupons that fit into a specific text box. The data fits perfectly but the placeholder objects in data merge oversets the text box even though the actual text will fit. How do I get around this. It cannot work if I have a field that is meant to be a single or double digit but the placeholder is a longer name (that is already as short as possible).Example:199<<B$12>><<B¢12>>The dollar amount is 1The cents are 99 and are superscript. This easily fits into my text box.Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

Currently when splitting a caption block you place your cursor in the block where you want to split it and it duplicates the caption block into two identicle blocks.  It would be far more efficient to actually split the block into two new blocks. The first one preceeding the cursor in the block and then the new one with all the text following the cursor in the second block.

Hope anybody can help..... Working with InDesign.I'm working on laying out the interior of a 230 page book.  I have two issues:1. The text frames just disappear for no apparent reason.  How do I get it back?2. How do I install missing fonts?Thank you 🙂

There appears to be several methods available in order to create QR Codes within the Scripting API. What we need is a way to find each QR Code and examine/edit the URL. There apprears to be nothing listed for this within the API documentation. Is there any way to step through the Graphics in each doucment, determine whether or not they are QR Codes, and if they are, to then check/edit the URL?

I've already reset my preferences, restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled my indesign. It works fine on my laptop screen. It sometimes creates a "snippet" on my desktop when I try to move an object. I can still move things with my arrow keys. This is what it looks like.

Hi, vielleicht kennt jemand das Problem. Wenn ich an meinem Mac in Indesign arbeite und nur den zweiten externen Monitor anschließe, wird auf dem Monitor Indesign grau (wie eingefroren ohne Anzeige der Seiten) angezeigt und man kann nichts machen. Bei den anderen Adobe Programmen wie PS oder AI ist das nicht so, da kann man einfach weiter arbeiten. Erst wenn ich Indesign beende und neu starte, funktioniert es. Was kann ist tun? Danke, Nina
