Hallo ZusammenIch besitze Privat einen Mac und Geschäftlich Windows. Weiss jemand ob es möglich ist Adobe Programme auf diesen unterschiedlichen PC`s zu installieren? Oder braucht es für Windows ein anderes Programm?Danke

Hello,I would like to know if is still possible to download InDesign 18.x from the Creative Cloud.We are having problems with Indian languages where some characters/ligatures show corrupted in versions 19 and 20 but not in 18.It doesn't matter what font we use or what paragraph composer, the corruption is still there.For what I can see in Creative Cloud the earliest version you can download is 19.0.Thanks

How can I write a JavaScript script for InDesign to export JPEGs while ensuring that any leftover text in the "Suffix" field from previous exports (e.g., "_^P" left after exporting pages) is cleared or replaced? Currently, when I use an export script, it adds "_01" to every image due to this leftover input. Is there a way to access and modify the value in the "Suffix" field through the script? Any help will be appreciated. 

Hi (sorry I'm so frustrated), so the elements on a page ie. 20mm down and 20 mm in, from the upper left corner, is described in the toolbox by X: as 63,5 and by Y:126,5 - numbers that i have no clue what means. It is very disturbing for the flow of creation. I have worked with Adobe products since 1995.... Do you have any clue? Can you help me get the numbers match?Thanx, Marina 🙂

Bonjour, j'ai un problème lorsque j'exporte une image depuis Indesign en PJEG. J'obtiens une image avec des légers décalages (surtout visible en basse déf). J'ai essayé différentes version d'Indesign et photoshop mais toujours le même bug.Du coup je suis obligé d'enregistrer sous eps et ouvriri sous photoshop. Laborieux.Surtout que j'utilise énormement cette option d'export JPEG pour les différents contenus RS.Avez-vous une solution?MerciS.

Why don't I get the option of story direction.In previous cc versions, I was always able to select a direction without a problem.In the past year, I'm having so manyh issues with this.It keeps on not appearing and I keep on having to uninstall/ install indesign again.It is extremely frustration and very time-consuming. I just reinstalled indesign, and still don't see the option!Texts are appearing totaly the wrong direction!! 

Hey i study grafic design in germany and got myself with one of my laouts in trouble i think (without knowing)I have created an InDesign layout where text is used as a design element, with large typography spanning across the full double-page spread. Now, I need to add gutter space (inside margin) after the fact. What is the easiest way to do this without completely reworking the layout?I added 2 screenshots for better understanding. The black lines in the background on the inner side mark the gutter space.I am hopefull and greatfull for your help!

Since updating my macOS in December to the latest version I get the following message whenever I try to open an InDesign file that is on a network volume:  Apple could not verify “xxx.indd” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. Then I have the option to click Done or Move to Bin. Anyone else having this problem and found a fix? All the permissions are set to anyone can edit.

how can I copy a full document so I can open it in a new document and do changes with the same format...while still having my old document available to open up.

Why isn't my paragraph stly go to the next column just like the first time I did it??

Hello - I recently noticed that creating a new InDesign from scratch with nothing in it is resulting in a immesely bloated file at 800 MB. I de-installed InDesign and re-installed and this is not changing anything. Help!

I have been experiencing strange display and performance bugs, and can't seem to figure out why this is happening.   In the middle of working on a catalog, a few of my pages suddenly have strange coloring to them, like the Hue/Saturation and Contrast have been majorly messed with. It only affects a few pages, not the entire document, and it eventually goes away either on it's own volition, or if I save and exit then re-enter the document.    Small screenshot of the document when behaving normally: Aaaaand when it's not behaving normally:   Not sure if this is related or not, but the app also will not retain my Display Performance settings. I tried adjusting this in the Preferences dialog box hoping it would make the entire document high quality, but it has absolutely no affect. The only way it works is if I select the individual photo and choose High Quality. Even then, every time i exit and re-enter the document, everything is low quality again.   Scree

Hello, yesterday I updated my creative cloud apps, I also updated my MacBook Pro to Sequoia. Ever since I have not been able to load most of my documents. Indesign crashes while loading most of the times, and when sometimes it does load, than it goes on the spinning wheel as soon as I try to open any document. I have to force quit every time.  I have already removed Indesign 2025 and installed Indesign 2024, problem stays. I have opened it with shift+control+option+command, problem stays, I have tried every possible version of Indesign, the problem occurs with every version. I seem to have simular issues with Illustrator also.    The only other option I see is downgrading the iOS again, but thats the last thing i want to do, anyone has other options?  Thanks a lot!      <Title renamed by MOD>

If a table uses "Skip Header Row on Page 1" feature,but the table only takes up 1 page (or 1 column), It will lead to duplication in the table of contents.Waiting for an official fix for this bug may be too long.Is there a script to find these tables and then unskip the page 1 header rows?Initially it may have been correctly needed.They didn't take up 2 pages (2 columns) later because the layout moved.But you don't know which ones made the setting 

Hi,we have long book which is created by others and we need to export as epub reflowable, we update all fonts, and for sure all styles now have many overrides.i cannot do it one by one, there are many everrides everywhere!  My questions:1. When i click on Preserve local overrides wihtout updating the styles, what will happen to the css?2. is there any script to redefine styles for document at once?3. is ther any script to create styles for text that not have applied into style?  thank you 

For whatever reason, a random black horizontal line has appeared in my ID document, and I can't seem to remove it. It's appearing at the bottom of the text of the left-most column of a two-column page, yet it seems to extend beyond the column divider. I've unchecked/ removed the horizontal line that appears in footnote style windows, and also unchecked any lines that might accompany columns (the little red line was made manually). Where is this black line coming from and how can I remove it?? Screengrab of black line included below:

Recently I encountered a problem when updating TOC:I get the message "Do you want the table of contents to include items in overset text?" and the thing is I do not see anything as overset text - anyway, when I click 'yes', then I get all headings in TOC and even too much (too many headings)... (EXAMPLE: the last 'main' heading is "9", but then I get all headings starting with "5.2" repeated again in TOC).If I choose "no" ("Do you want table...?") - then, TOC looks fine; however, the problem exists and I would like to find the root cause.I would be grateful for any ideas... maybe someone had a similar problem?

Hello I am making a book cover.  I have the stroke set to 0 for the front cover and spine, but they have a thin gray border when I export to Acrobat.   They don't appear in InDesign.   I do not want any border on the final product -- only the color black.Attached is the .indd file and a screenshot of the gray border in the exported PDF.Any suggestions?Thank you.Adam

I am pasting Bengali from an excel file into InDesign CC 2018. I have Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer turned on. I’ve tried numerous fonts, including the Adobe Bengali font. Here are a few examples. The words in the red box are as they should be, the yellow highlighted words are how they appear in InDesign.After doing some research, I’ve learned there are a lot of different rules dictating how certain characters should be combined. I’m wondering if some of these rules were left out or misconstrued in Adobe World-Ready Composer. Or is this an issue with the glyph palette? I can copy the incorrect word from InDesign and paste it into Word or Excel and it looks correct. As soon as I paste it into InDesign, it changes. I have been working on a major book project for more than a year, hundreds of hours of work are involved. Upon opening my document recently I have discovered my text will no longer correctly hyphenate, regardless of whether hyphenation is correctly applied. No hyphenation happening whatsoever. On or off.A possible solution has been suggested in threads by people having the same issues: copying the text to another frame, applying the [Basic paragraph] style, copying back the text, then reapplying the correct styles. This means manually reworking projects to get hyphenation working again. Hyphenation is a basic function of InDesign. Stable typographic behaviour is a core function of this application. It should be rock solid. IT IS NOT.Professionals are depending on the stability of this software for their livelyhoods, and paying for it. It would be so nice if ADOBE WOULD GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the script of visible and hidden items/groups in InDesign. I have achieved the goal for scenarios 1 and 2, however, I have an issue and question for scenario 3: When a group is visible, and all items inside the group are visible, my expected result is group and all visible items will appear in the article panel.When a group is hidden, my expected result is group and all items inside the group will not appear in the article panel. When a group is visible, and one of the items inside the group is hidden, is it possible to extract the group and the visible items in the article panel? I have tried manually without running the script, the group appears in the article panel if all the items are visible. Is that how InDesign treats a <group>? When I tried to remove items inside the group, I needed to ungroup first then the <group> would be out from the article panel, and all the visible items would be individual appearances.

I am copying a spread from one file to another. Both pages are set to the same size with the same margins, but when I copy and paste across the layout is coming in too large for the page. If i resize, I will need to adjust the font size as well. I have closed and reopened and tried again with the same result. Pictures below. Help!!

Hi all.I have a brochure with hundreds of price labels, which are tables. Sadly at no point has a cell/table style been created for these, although all rows are paragraph styles.I've been asked to decrease the heights of these tables overall which is easy enough using leading/space before within the styles, but when the cells shrink, the table reduces height of course at the top and bottom, whereas I want it to stay bottom aligned. I've got that selected, but it still moves up as it's taking space from top and bottom. As I say I have the frame bottom aligned, and also the cells are bottom selected. Also - I haven't been able to find a way of altering the insets of every cell at once - just individually. Is that possible? I know, they should really be table/cell styles but they've not been initially set up that way.  Before - after - desired outcome:      

I currently have a document which uses an automatic table of contents, it recognises text styles on pages. The document is often re-used and is adjusted for certain tasks, for example some pages are hidden if they are not needed (but not deleted in-case we need them), and obviously we wouldn't want these pages included in the contents list.However the table of contents still seems to be picking up these hidden pages, filling up the contents with pages which aren't in the actually document. There is already an option for 'hidden layers'. Could anyone help? 

HiI'm working on an indesign file for few days, and everything worked fine, until suddenly I was't able to select multiple objects by dragging the selection tool (the black cursor).Moreover, when I wish to select text inside a textbox, it does select it, but doesn't marks the selection.This happens only in that specific file. All files are working just fine. I tried to duplicate it, nothing.Tried to clear any prefencers, updated to the latest version, but nothing will help. Can anyone advise?Thanks
