InDesign

My team has reviewed the document and the comments are showing in review but none of their highlights or pins are showing. I've signed in and out, restarted my computer, etc and it has made no difference. It isn't showing on their end either when they open the review link. It's like they disappeared. Below is a screenshot.  

I'm not completely opposed to generative AI (won't get into my opinion on it personally), but Adobe really needs to stop shoving these half-baked features in our faces. Why on earth, while editing a text document on InDesign, would I need to see a pop-up suggesting "text-to-image" AI features? It's literally blocking what I'm working on and I have to close the dialogue.

Colours change - while designing after the latest update to InDesign v 21.5.1

Hello, My InDesign somehow just decided to change the unit for documents from inches to points. I don't really points so I want to put it back to inches but haven't trouble. I think the way to change the units for new documents was to go to Preferences - Units and Increments and change the H and V units there. My Preference for units is already set as inches. And my rulers are shown in inches, too. But, when I open a New Document, it still shows me all units in "p". After having this issue, I updated the InDesign CC yesterday, too, but still having the trouble. Can anyone help please? Thank you!

 InDesign 21.6, Tahoe 26.6.2Mac Studio M4 Max, 16 CPU Cores, 40 GPU cores, 128GB unified memory. My hardware should not be struggling like it is. InDesign 21.6 introduced “new rendering technology to deliver a more consistent viewing experience” and the only consistent thing I have noticed is the performance being degraded. I am unable to use CPU Preview to even see if there is a performance change. Disabling GPU performance does not make CPU Preview clickable. I am not sure why this is the case, a restart did not fix. I am experiencing near-constant app hitching when doing any action, as well as constant white flashes while moving text boxes and graphics. If I pick up any graphic and move it, it basically freezes my app for a second or two before “catching up” with the processing and showing my movement 1-2 seconds after it happened with lots of stuttering. The white flash occurs every time you mouse click + drag on an item. It only occurs with the first mouse click and doesn’t persis

So I have sets of illustration in separated artboard (same layer) in Illustrator. But when I am importing it to InDesign, some parts of the illustration is missing. It occurs on some illustration, especially reused graphic asset from Freepik. Funny enough, this isn't happening using the previous version of Indesign. Right now I am using the current latest 21.0 (not beta). What I have done for the workaround;saved into a new file, only the error artboard. not working.saved the error artboard into EPS, works. But I wish everything works in native format.  

After updating to Indesign 21.6 the ‘go to next page’ and ‘go to previous page’ buttons stopped working when I export my file to an interactive pdf. I have tried everything, even saving my file to .idml.It has always worked fine and I have used it for years, but suddenly it doesn’t function anymore. Which really dissappointed one of my biggest clients.I assume it is a bug, can you please fix this?Mirjam

HiEach time I import an image into Indesign, the image loads okay, but I get the blue swirling ‘loading’ icon that never stops. I can save my document, and the menus still work but I can’t work on the actual page, and the only way I can clear it it to Force quit Indesign using Task Manager. This started about 2 weeks ago, and was fine before and I haven’t made any changes to my PC. I thought maybe it started after an update of Indesign, so I tried reverting to an older version, but still had the same problem.I have tried re-installing Indesign. (version21.3)  I use Windows 11.I really hope you can help please?Thanks Chris

Publish online BUG!------------------------------The newest version of InDesign (21.3) gives bugs in the published online document. Certain buttons aren’t clickable anymore (it can be fixed by changing the layers they’re in, but they have been working perfectly fine for years) + another certain page with buttons completely flips when hovering over buttons - see here: test buurt Tried going back to the previous version of InDesign (21.2), did not help. Hello!I have a ticket that has a QR code on it that the customer wants in their color (blue). When using datamerge, the QR codes are colored black. The DB has 25,000 records. Anyone have a Javascript to accomplish this?  Thanks in advance! Bud

Hi! I’ve noticed that QR codes generated with some free online tools have stopped working after some time. Does anyone know if the QR codes created with InDesign’s built-in tool are permanent? Will they continue to work indefinitely?

Recently I have had issues with Adobe programs missing links (specifically Illustrator and InDesign).For reference, all my files are on dropbox and I work directly from there. I will work on a file, save, and then the next day when I open it again it tells me all my links are missing and I need to relink them. It NEVER used to do this and it is getting very frustrating.Is this the result of an update? Is there some secret setting I can turn off?

I'm using InDesign version 26.1 on Windows 11. I changed the names of a lot of paragraph styles. When I search for the new style in Find/Change, the old name appears in parenthesis next to it. Can I get rid of the old style names? Is InDesign holding them in cached memory?

Hi there   I had to replace my old laptop, which had InDesign 19.5 on it as that's the version my client is using.But I'm struggling to download that version  on my new laptop - a Dell Latitude 7420, running Windows 11 Pro, with 16 GB RAM. On the Adobe desktop app, the oldest INDD version I can access is 20.0. Any idea how I can download 19.5?Thanks!

I work at a commercial printer, we print booklets straight from InDesign all the time. This one is set up at 8.5” x 11” with 0.125” bleed. The printed booklet came out at 11.25” between crop marks with 0.125” bleed outside. I have no idea why the export to the printer came out like this, the previous file had no issues. Print to Ricoh printer with a Firey print server, page size 12x18, saddle stitch booklets.

Hello,I'm unable to import PDF comments into an InDesign document. Every time I try, InDesign shows the error "PDF is corrupt. None of them loaded the comments into the INDD Importing the comments partially, split into 2 parts. Splitting further isn't feasible given the number of comments   I also tested with a new PDF containing only a few comments (2–3), and the same error appears. We have had a problem with Indesign where when we open a document one of the fonts wasn’t displaying correctly which wasn’t spotted. Upon investigating, when you open the document up for the first time, it displays incorrectly, but if you open up for the 2nd time, without quitting Indesign, the font displays and outputs ok.Has anyone experienced this and what the issue could be?

I have had this issue when placing a PDF in Indesign, I do all my checks and prepwork. I run my preflight to check to make sure the file is CMYK. When it is not I right click and edit original in Acrobat. I do my conversion there. The file relinking tends to lock up Indesign and my fans go nuts. Computer is an M1 Max with 32 gigs of RAM. Indesign 21.5.1.73 in macOS Tahoe (latest update). I have had this with a few larger page PDF’s, the current one is 104 - 5.5 x 8.5 pages. It has been trying to relink for over 20 mins now. I could force quite and just re-add the PDF’s again from scratch with the CMYK profile done and it will be no problem, only when it comes to relinking the file. I have reset preferences numerous times with no luck. Very frustrating. Have this with various files, anyone else having this issue? Any fixes? Not sure if this is combined but it seems to have locked up the CC Hub. I have never tried opening it when Indesign is locked up trying to update the linked file, so

HELP!  I am unable to print my InDesign document.  The error message states 'This document contains links to files/URL(s) that are not accessible. Please check your network connectivity or the original source of content.'  When looking at the links page, there are no errors issued.  Preflight shows no errors.   I've gone to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy/Files and Folders, and verified that 'Document Folder' is checked under Adobe InDesign. Any other suggestions?  Thank you!TR 

I need some hand-holding please.I just exported to pdf, and got this message, and would be happy to fix it if I had a clue what to do:The document's transparency blend space doesn't match the destination color space specified in the Export Adobe PDF settings.To avoid color appearance changes in the PDF, click cancel and change either the document's transparency blend space, or the destination color space.  Can you please translate that into English and tell me what to do?

Recently, I've noticed that InDesign is setting text boxes to automatically auto-fit content when I resize them.  It doesn't mesh with my flow.  How do I turn this setting off?  I'm tiring of constantly selecting objects and disabling them.  TIring of accidentally scaling images disproportionally.  Please note:  I know how to turn auto-fitting off.  What I want to do is make sure it is not on when I add a new frame.
