I created a new QR code (web hyperlink) and this is the alt text that resulted. QR code link: https://event.rotortech.com.au/programImage.jpeg
On indesign version: 21.1 x64the program creates corrupted files while working, happened 2 times on 2 different documents in 2 weeks. The program works but sometimes it says we cannot save the document because it's damaged. Then Indesign closes itself and starts again to recover it. I must export in IDML in order to open it again and resave it. Here are my computer specs: Indesign version: 21.1 x64Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 185H (2.30 GHz)Windows 11 entreprise version 24H2build : 26100.7623 Capture d’écran 2026-01-21 215624.pngCapture d’écran 2026-01-26 1510202.png
I updated In Design last night and my history panel is only going one step backwards. So I can't adjust layouts. I am on Windows. I see some other comments, but no fix. Any help here? I can't access the 2025 version of In Design anymore for some reason either. Thanks,

Hello,I am having trouble saving PDFs for Pantone® colors (originally intended for paper printing) so that they appear very vibrant.I have tried multiple settings (even RGB) and nothing works. These colors still appear relatively dull.Could you tell me which settings I need to check, oreven the settings I mustn't forget? My base document is an InDesign file,• Intent = “WEB”• The profile is “Adobe RGB 1998” (I even tried sRGB, etc.)• …knowing that the ultimate goal will be to create a JavaScript that will save PDFs in batchesThank you. — Dimitri
Exporting JPG from InDesign as anything other than 72dpi will change the pixel size from the size of the document.Example: Document size 1000x1000px will export at 92dpi at 1333x1333px. It's really frustraiting when you need to export at specific resolution for printing or web, so I ran some tests and found the calcuations to adjust document size so it will export at the correct size for your intented resolution. To use this calulation, in document setup:Type your intended export pixel size and multiply it with the decimal from the chart below. Set the unit as Pixels or type px after the number.[intented export pixel size] * [decimal from the chart below] Example: 1200px*.75 =900 document pixel width (exports at 1200px at 96dpi) Export ResolutionMultiply Indended Export Pixel Size By:72 dpi0.0096 dpi0.75150 dpi0.48300 dpi0.24600 dpi0.121200 dpi0.06 I think it will work well enough for output dpi 300 and under, but over 600 you have to use such a sma
Indesign beta does not run files made with the latest version of indesign, (updated today) why? I have a Microsoft Surface pro 11 and I only can use the indesign beta because the program is not compatible with my laptop, yet. Hopefully soon?
I run the latest InDesign on a Windows 11 PC. Over the past week, InDesign keeps crashing. Sometimes while working, but most times when I am saving. It also crashes if trying to save a IDML file or PDF. I've tried reinstalling several times. I've gone in and scrubbed all the preference files off my hard drive. I've tested my drive to make sure it is working. I tried reinstalling an earlier version. Nothing seems to help. I thought it was working soundly for about an hour but then it crashed again. Every time I open the program up again, it tells me the file is damaged. Any ideas how I can fix this?
I am trying to add dot or dash leaders on either side of this center-justified text.Charlie329572228uvx_0-1769280861831.pngI am not sure how to set this up. Thank you for any suggestions.
In the last few weeks my team has noticed that after going back into files that have been edited in InCopy, a random number of custom hyperlinks have just disappeared (but not there hyperlink text sources so we have to spend extra work cleaning those out in order to relink things), and this is causing some massive headaches for our workflow. It should be noted that almost nothing we do is standard operating procedure for InDesign workflows; we are exporting to HTML with the help of a plugin, we use InDesign/InCopy through shared OneDrive/Sharepoint folders, I've built several custom plugin tools to add new funtionality to our HTML books - this being one of them. My plugin tool uses the hyperlink features of indesign to inject event listeners into the hyperlink html elements, which can then be hovered or tapped on in the HTML export for little pop-ups. This has worked for a few years now and while there has been more than its fair share of problems thecreated hyper
Hello everyone,I’m having a serious issue with InDesign on my MacBook Pro 13" 2020 (Intel i5, Sequoia 15.7.3).The problems started on version 2025, so I tried downloading 2026 and it was the same.Even after disabling the GPU, deleting all caches and preferences (~500 files), the software runs extremely slow: scrolling lags, text freezes, zoom is choppy. So now I’m looking to download InDesign 2024.Thanks
God knows why, in my InDesign 2021 (I have to use this to be "aligned" with others in my teamwork) when I try to import an item from the library an alert says that "This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and cannot be opened until the ohter user closes it".If I create a new library, add something to it and try to import the same element on my page it returns the same alert message. The same library works perfectly on InDesign 2025 on the same computer (MacBook Pro M4 Max, Sequoia MacOs).I've already rebooted CC app, log out&in again, looked for .idlk files, but no luck…Is there anything I can do to restore the situation?Thank you all!
First, the latest InDesign update installed "2026" on my Win 11 box, but did not remove/update the "Start", or the "Taskbar" shortcut links ... After sorting out the "Can't open this InDesign file - it was created in a newer version" roadblock, I have been working on simple, no linked art, etc. 8.5x11" documents and running into a BIG problem ... Creating & saving a single-page document, then creating an additional text frame, adding formatted text, thinking about "what's next" \, etc ... I will have the "text cursor" involved, tap the intended frame to enter SOMETHING/ANYTHING text-related & the existing content disappears ... The text frame remains, nothing is flashing, no warning/error box appears - nothing ... Going to the edit drop-down menu shows "undo clear" (not my initial reaction destination) ... The "undo clear" desire returns the affected text, but in a previous iteration - the last save has resolved to "somewhere" in the run-up to said "save" ... The backspacing of
Usually under EDIT, there is an option 'PREFRENCES' to change any preferences in Indesign. Where is this option on a Mac?
I have been working with the disappearing text bug (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-2026-text-disappears-while-editing-text-frames-on-windows/m-p/15676310/), and one piece of advice in that thread, marked as correct, was:Thanks again for your patience here. I wanted to share a quick update from the product team. The fix for this issue is included in InDesign 21.2, and the latest pre-release build available now is 21.2.0.27, which is newer than the 21.2.0.25 build mentioned earlier. If you are still seeing the text disappearing behavior, please update to 21.2.0.27 from the Creative Cloud Desktop App under Apps > Pre-release > InDesign and test the same workflow there.Once you've tried the update, please let us know if the issue is resolved on your side. Your confirmation will help us close the loop and move this fix forward to the public release. So, I'm trying to check if I have the latest version (at the time of that post, 21.2.0.27). So, I go to
Hello! In the last few weeks Indesign started constantly reloading images' viewing quality. I have 'High Quality Display' set by default because I need it to see details while working. When I scroll to a new image, it takes a few seconds to load from the typical to high quality, which is fine. But as I shuffle text boxes over it, parts of the image revert back to typical and have to reload to high quality again. I move a text box, it reloads. I change paragraph style, it reloads. I change the text box size, it reloads. Sometimes it happens in a part around the text box, sometimes it happens to the whole image. This didn't happen before, once the image loaded to high quality, it stayed that way while I worked. This is terribly aggravating and slows down my work process, as it sometimes takes a non-negligible amount of time to reload. You can see below how the image got pixelated after I only moved the text box.adobe_1.jpgI have tried tinkering with settings in 'Preferences &g
ITALIANO:buongiorno a tutti. Good morning everyone.I’m having an issue with InDesign.Since yesterday, when I open an existing InDesign file that had already been created, after editing it and trying to save it, InDesign returns an error saying:“InDesign is unable to save this file. Hi there I had to replace my old laptop, which had InDesign 19.5 on it as that's the version my client is using. But I'm struggling to download that version on my new laptop - a Dell Latitude 7420, running Windows 11 Pro, with 16 GB RAM. On the Adobe desktop app, the oldest INDD version I can access is 20.0. Any idea how I can download 19.5?Thanks!
I use two monitors, and the package command (under File) disappears when InDesign is on the wider screen - however the command appears again if I move to the slightly smaller scren / monitor. Can anyone shed any light on why this would happen?
Hello All,I need a help. I am trying to update font size and leading of a paragraph style which is based on some other style. The font size and leading are set on the parent paragraph style which I want to decouple it.For e.g. Paragraph style "aa" based on "BB" or "Basic Paragraph Style". The font size is set in "BB" or "Basic Paragraph Style". But don't want to modify that and only update "aa" style. I tried following Javascript through my C++ codevar mydoc = app.documents.item(0);var paragraphStyle = mydoc.paragraphStyles.itemByName(\'" + sParaStyleName + "\');paragraphStyle.properties = { pointSize:11, leading:15,};Also tried C++ codeInterfacePtr<ITextAttrRealNumber> PointSizeAttr((ITextAttrRealNumber*)(textAttr->QueryByClassID(kTextAttrPointSizeBoss, IID_ITEXTATTRREALNUMBER)));if (PointSizeAttr == nil)return; PointSizeAttr->SetRealNumber(11);InterfacePtr<ICommand> newStyleCmd(Utils<IStyleUtils>()->CreateEditStyleC

I am reporting a reproducible technical issue in Adobe InDesign on Windows.Problem:InDesign cannot save .indd files when they are located in OneDrive (cloud-synced) folders. The same files save correctly without any issues when moved to local folders (Desktop or local disk).Important details:- This is NOT a crash. InDesign launches and runs normally.- Error occurs only during Save operations in OneDrive folders.- Saving locally works 100% of the time.- The issue started suddenly from one day to the next.- Happens in multiple InDesign versions (including older versions).- Happens with different Adobe accounts.- Other Adobe applications are not affected.- Full clean reinstall using Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool was already performed. This appears to be a compatibility issue between InDesign, Windows updates, and cloud-synced folders.I am posting this to confirm whether this is a known issue and to ensure it is visible to Adobe engineering. Workaround at the moment: working locally and s
I can't share too many screenshots due to confidentiality, but I keep encountering an issue when placing illustrator files into InDesign. Elements shifting, type dissapearing or dupllicating. General glitching. The issue isn't just graphical, it persists when being reopened after a reboot or even exported as a pdf/png. The thumbnail in the links window shows it with the glitch, so it appears to be something corrupting the illustrator file. Rather than an InDesign issue?I have had some success with saving the file as a pdf then oversaving back over the .ai file. This is it placed into indesign the background layer has shifted up.Placed into InDesign, fully updated. This is the saved illustrator file, as you can see the background layer if fine.Illustrator fileIt's talked about in this Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/indesign/comments/1ppsjgx/illustrator_placement_bug_be_careful/I'm using an M4 mac, with GPU performance unchecked as this also causes a bunch of i
I installed the latest version (21.1) of InDesign (windows 10), and several problems started: disappearing text, the program crashing unexpectedly, and worst of all, the undo options became limited. After reading some forums, I tried one solution: clearing the preferences, uninstalling, and reinstalling the old version. It worked for a few hours, but then the same problems returned. I'd like to know if anyone has another solution...
